What makes a great dive bar? For me, it has to be unrefined and unpretentious. The Celtic nails it! I often ponder, as I sit enjoying my pint of Wood Chuck, what Jon Taffer of Bar Rescue would say if he came waltzing through the door. He would likely turn the place upside down. But that's why I like it! It's delightfully dark, a bit dingy, and definitely rough around the edges. No artisanal cocktails or frozen concoctions. Just friendly bartenders, a jukebox, darts, pool and basic booze. If you live within a couple miles or so and you aren't expecting a cookie cutter chain spot or bottle service, check it out. Just don't make a special trip from PVD. Because the parking lot is small and I don't want you to take my spot.

Any bar that fills their Jack Daniels bottles with some cheap swill to try and save a buck should not even get one star, but I'm afraid I can't give zero

Again as people have said this bar is not a million dollar resort bar, hell its not a cookie cut out chain bar either. Its a dive bar in every sense of the word and thats what you should expect. Theres your typical bar food, which often runs out so dont come expecting a three course meal. Your bartender is usually the guy putting it together so be thankful you get anything at all. Lol. The atmosphere and attitude of the bar is as laid back as it gets and after a long day nothing is better. Granted karaoke is as usual, its not the x factor so what do you expect. This bars shining moments come in three ways, one the bartenders are always the best. Hands down best ive dealt with in a very long time. Two, the owner is there shaking hands and having a laugh, the way it used to be in a classic bar. And last but not least their craft beer taps. One more time, this is not an 80 plus beer joint and if youre gonna be a snob than stow it and go somewhere else, please and thank you. So all that being said, do not come here with the expectations that this place is gonna blow your mind or service all your needs. Be ready to have a great time with friends, and have less needs and you just might have awesome time.

The Celtic Pub is a local hole in the wall...go in with low expectations and you'll be fine. First, the place is dirty as hell...the owner hasn't put a dime in it for years. The draft beer is cool, not cold although the selection of beers in draught and bottle is very good.Very good service at the bar is the only thing that redeems this place as the bartenders have always been friendly, attentive and fast.

Just moved into the neighborhood and needed a drink !!! No cover, no BS , no drama, no bling !!! Good drinks and a friendly bartender!! Decor is from the 70s , music on the jukebox is straight up good old rock N roll . It smells a bit funny but hell not to bad really if it's a good drink You want and great music, why not!? I like it !!! 2 pool tables in the back seem to be popular , haven't seen the bathrooms yet but who cares . Cool stop for a no frills , brings me back night !!! Eric

Oh also, there are usually a bunch of hot guys with tattoos here so that is also a plus.

Real dive. I mean it is what it is. It's a pawtucket watering hole. If you're looking for ambiance try any other local irish pub. This place is strictly a shithole bar. I'll just say it attracts your typical pawtucket bar patrons....bar staff are great. Customers? Eh I'd rather stay away.

It's a fun, busy dive bar with reasonable prices. The staff are great and personable. Quick too. Even on busy nights, you don't have to wait long for a drink. They have karaoke on most fridays, and the DJ is fantastic. 5 stars all the way for this place!

Fine hole-in-the-wall type place to hang out for a while. Decent prices for beer. Watch out for Karaoke nights, though. It gets a little loud and depressing.
