I love these burritos. I race over to the Providence farmer's market from the gym, and eat these giant burritos, in my gym clothes, without guilt or irony. The carnitas (pork), beef, chicken are all great, and for $8.75 you get a burrito where every single component is well-seasoned. I'm addicted. The tacos which are 3.75 each are also good, and a good size if you need a snack, but the fillings seem drier to me. But still tasty.

The braised beef taco I had today was honestly the best thing I have put in my mouth in a while. So you should eat one too.

I've always been a fan of bread-y things slightly (or entirely) under cooked. My love of dough has never abated, and I'm always thrilled whenever an unexpected treat pops up in a meal. Ever since the Rio Bravo chain shut down, taking its tortilla press that left the soft wraps oh-so-slightly undercooked, I'd quested to find the perfect burrito. About a year ago, I finally gave up. Even the most authentic Mexican places seemed to have fully cooked soft tortillas. ...but the other day at the Aquidneck Farmer's Market, I received a mouthful of "I'M BACK." Not only was the burrito at the Tallulah Taco stand stuffed to infinity with beans, cheese, rice, guacamole and whatever else I'd requested, but the tortialla was simple perfection - seemingly translucent and super chewy, giving the flavor and texture of a wrap not quite cooked to solid levels.

Just coming from 10 years in San Diego, Mexican food wasn't the first thing I wanted to eat in RI, but the line at the Farmers Market and a friend told me it was worth a try. Boy, were they right! I'm embarrassed to say, this is the best burrito I have ever eaten! The tortilla was just right, the meat was tender and yummy and they put some kind of sauce in it that is so delicious, I can't even tell you! I of course headed back to eat there again the following week. A couple of things. First, don't mess with the chef. He is from a high end restaurant here in town and he doesn't like stupid questions. This was not first hand experience, just what I witnessed a couple of times. Second, do not go there for a quick burrito. They always say it will be a 10-15 minute wait when it is realistically about 30. If you go to Newport Farmers Market on Memorial (Wednesdays 2-6), order your food first and then do all of your shopping and come back. You can also get the same food at The Shack in Jamestown. I had a lobster taco there and it was delicious, although a little expensive at $8! (they are small). Oh, and you can't substitute stuff, just remove something (like beans or guac) if you don't like it. The burrito costs $8 and a meat taco is quite small and runs at $3.75, I believe.

This food truck was outside the Coastal Growers Farmers Market in North Kingstown, RI. $4/taco seemed a bit high but I love to try new things esp from food trucks and the line waiting in the rain had to be a good omen. These are great tacos. I got a pork one and a beef one. Very juicy, well cooked meat. Superb seasonings. Gluten free soft tacos were the perfect consistency. Friendly helpful staff. Better plates or to go dishes would make this truck perfect. It was hard to eat from the very flimsy paper plate.

Tallulah Tacos had a very popular tent at the Newport Folk Festival. The options were taco or burrito with either mushrooms, chicken, beef or pork. I had the chicken with creamy guacamole, salsa verde, onions and cilantro in corn tortillas served with lime and pickled radish. I was excited to eat the radish but found it to be too salty. The taco was excellent and the ingredients were fresh and authentic tasting. It would have been great if they had out some hot sauce but the food was delicious on it's own. I would have gladly paid a dollar or two more but it was nice to have something so tasty and affordable at a festival where an iced coffee costs $4.50.

There were many great local food trucks and carts at the recently attended Newport Folk Festival. After being sure to do a full-scan of my options, I finally settled on the last food vendor in the line of trucks, Tallulahs Tacos. The decision came at no surprise to myself, or my friend, both of which had heard nothing but good about the Tallulah brand. The cart was extremely backed up and was giving time estimates of up to 25 minutes (for tacos). While I highly value the farm-to-table concept and quality of product associated with it, even 15 minutes seems excessive for tacos- let lone 30. Alas, my tacos arrived quicker then I was quoted, and this brought a smile to my face. Was it worth waiting over 20 minutes for? Sadly, no. The tacos were bland, but fresh and edible. The beat salad on the side was a nice, notable touch. All in all, I might hit up Tallulah's tacos again, provided the timing was right, but I wouldn't purposefully seek out this cart.

I've driven 30 minutes to farmers markets to get their tacos. Unbelievable. Authentic and made with passion. My opinion: Pork #1, black bean #2, chicken #3.

This is the best food truck ever. Great tacos fresh ingredients. Service is very friendly too. They are in Newport farmers market from may-Oct every Wednesday 2-6. If you try to go before time please note non of the vendors can serve due to their license issue.

Having heard a lot of chatter about Tallulah's Tacos at Dutch Harbor, we thought we would walk over and try them out. The favors were good, the line long, and the guy that assembles them a little grumpy. Also, more expensive than I expected. So, I would say they are worth trying to see what you think.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
