The fish and shrimp were great, the breading was light and crispy and the wait staff were spot on, no complaints here. Wife and I thought the food was a bit pricey but right in the middle of tourist central by the docks can't complain too much.

Great food, prompt service. They cleared a table for us so that we could be by the window. Oysters were delicious as was the calamari. Definitely on our "go to again list".

My wife and I went here the other night and had some great food. The service was very nice and friendly. The lobster bisque, clam chowder, clam fritters and stuffies were all great. The prices were fair for what you got including either the drinks and my wife and I both agree the scallops were probably the best we've had and we've lived here in New England all of our lives.

We were in RI for four days and ate here twice. Best lobster roll, of 4 places we tried in the area, and everything else was delicious. I had scallops florentine and ate every bite, even all the pasta. Perfect, light sauce. Friendly and efficient service, and we had 2 kids, 4 and 2 years old, who were happy with their meals also. If I were going back to Jamestown, I would eat here for every meal!

Best of the regular downtown Jamestown restaurants. Their Mon-Thu specials can't be beat.

Simply the BEST!!! We have been enjoying Chopmist Charlies for about 3 years now and I would say this is the BEST kept secret in RI!!! The food is excellent and the service is AWESOME. Whether you are going for the 1st time or a local who is there all the time you are treated like family. Some of my favorites are..Buffalo popcorn shrimp (big enough to share) Scallops Florentine and the broiled scalops.

I think this is my favorite place in all of RI! The best clam chowder I have ever tasted. I wish I lived closer so I can go again!

Spending a few days in Jamestown. From Yelp reviews, Chopmist Charlie's seemed to hit the mark on what we were looking for. No reservations but we were early and had no problems being seated right away. By the time we left however, 7:30, the place was packed, with a line. I can only attribute this situation to the fact that dining options here are limited. Shared calamari appetizer was almost assuredly frozen, then fried. My seafood casserole also seemed to be assembled from frozen ingredients. My friend's baked stuffed shrimp was the best choice Server was great. Loved the atmosphere. But the food, meh.

Lobster Alfredo. Lobster Alfredo. Lobster Alfredo. My family walked to this place for dinner while visiting a friend in downtown Jamestown at her recommendation and we were not disappointed. We were seated immediately (off season Friday night) and ordered our drinks which came promptly. The menu is a bit overwhelming, but we all ended up with great food. The calamari appetizer was amazing, but of our 4 entrees the LOBSTER ALFREDO took the cake. I hesitated to order it because it sounds like a heart attack waiting to happen, but as it was a vacation, I went for it. And boy was everybody at the table glad I did. The portions are ridiculously enormous to begin with, but in the entree that I expected a few pieces of lobster, I found enough meat to fill me even without eating the pasta part of it. I go to Maine every summer, my family is full of lobster-lovers - I know lobster.. And what they served me must have been all the meat from 2 pretty huge lobsters. Insane. Also worth mentioning is their drink that's half Angry Orchard cider and half ginger beer - what a treat. The place isn't cheap, we dropped $200 between 4 of us, but we all got seafood and drinks so that's what happens.

I've been here several times now. It's safe to say I'm a fan. The seafood has always been fresh and hot and delicious. The staff has always been friendly and attentive. The prices are down to earth and it's location is right in center of everything that is summer. There's not much to dislike.

Best clam chowder in RI! Good way to start the day. Creamy chowder and some mussels. Get a beer with it and it's a good way to start a day off of work.

Highest recommendations. One of the best lobster rolls on the east coast. Stuffed full and fresh. Tried both the Chowder and the Bisque, the Chowder is good Bisque is better. The service was fine and friendly. I haven't had anything but the lobsta roll but I saw some of the other dishes come out and they looked great.

It bills itself as the "Cheers of Jamestown" and it's true! Everyone was friendly, the food was excellent, the portions were large. And everyone at the bar smiled and said bye to us when we left.

If you are looking for a casual small seafood place, this is it. Nothing to fancy but very clean and the staff was great. Our waitress was friendly and helped us before we asked. She was awesome with our kids. The food came out very hot and fresh. My wife got the salmon BLT. It was ok, the salmon didn't have much flavor on its own. The french fries was the best. Crisp and very tasty. I asked for a bloody Mary, it was great but a little pricey @ $7.50. Maybe $5.00 seems better.

Stay away. This establishment is in a seaport town and they serve frozen food. Our calamari seemed more like cuddle fish because the rings were enormous and perfectly breaded like you see in frozen food, same with my son's fish and chips. My chair was stuck to the floor! Literally stuck. The waitress was terrific and I have nothing bad to say about her. The food and atmosphere well below par and there are plenty of options. Buyer beware

Lobster bisque was excellent though their idea of a bowl is more a large cup. I went with whole fried belly clams and fried oysters, portions were good and the seafood was fresh. My wife choose the plank Salmon which she says was cooked to perfection.

Great fresh food for sure. It was great the last time we came but it was even better this time. Friendly service with daily specials to compliment a great menu to start with. Love it and will be back for sure .

Prices are way too high for what you get. This is our third time here not paying $25.00 for a lobster roll. Rhode island clam chowder was very salty husband had new England clam chowder and was not disappointed.

Really great choice for seafood. My wife, toddler daughter, and I recently visited Jamestown for the weekend. We stopped by Chopmist Charlie's on Saturday night for dinner. My wife had a bowl of the lobster bisque and I had a bowl of clam chowder and both of them were close to, if not actually, the best of each we've ever had. As to our meals, my wife had the fish and chips and I had the seafood au gratin. The fish (scrod) was perfectly breaded and cooked and the chips were delightfully crispy and a real hit with our daughter. The seafood au gratin had a couple of large lobster claws, ocean scallops, and shrimp, smothered in a light cheese sauce and perfectly tender, not overcooked at all. Absolutely delicious. We didn't have room for dessert unfortunately. If we return to Jamestown in the future, we'll definitely stop by again, if only to get some more of that soup.

Super local bar and restaurant, giant marlins on the wall, standard beers on tap. My girlfriend and I came here to go to the Jamestown Arts Center around the corner. We got stuffies, which are large clams filled with stuffing, pretty good. When we sat down the waiter told us they had a couple of fresh catches: a large blue fin tuna a customer had caught nearby, and another type of fish a kid was spearfishing. It's that kind of place. I got the fresh tuna in a Jamaican jerk spice rub, and she went with the shrimp scampi. The tuna was awesome, well spiced, delicious, and fresh. The scampi was pretty good, the noodles handmade, the shrimp fresh, but the sauce was a bit too citrus-y. I'd say this place is more of a 3.5 stars place, but it was exactly what were looking for-- delicious fresh fish in Jamestown.

Always consistently fresh food, good service, and a fun time - after many years of coming here, I'm finally writing a review. You can't go wrong with any of the seafood, salads, or meat choices. Each dish is beautifully presented, prices are really good, and again, consistently fresh food. I live locally and this is our "go-to" restauant. I seem to order the steamers and salad quite often and am never disappointed!

This is the bomb! Seafood is always freah. Pasta hand made. We always start with Zeek's Creamy lobster bisque and NE chowder, always a winner. Now on to dinner. I had Calamari Fra Diablo, I'm sorry to say it wasn't my favorite meal here, my husband had Scallops Florentine, and his pasta was to al dente! This Wil be the first time I haven't taken my leftover home. This won't stop us from coming back, just won't order those two items a again.

We have never had a bad meal here. The seafood is always fresh and cooked to perfection. The staff is friendly and very attentive. This has become our favorite eatery when we are here.

We haven't visited in several years - and our last visit was just as enjoyable as our most recent visit! I enjoyed clam cakes & clam chowder and it was out of this world! The place looks great, the service was impeccable! A must visit for all! Great job!

The chowder was really good, I ordered the lobster Mac and cheese, it was really good, full of lobster, HOWEVER, it was literally lobster Alfredo with a mountain of shredded cheese on top. Not what i was expecting. Also the soda was flat. Otherwise everything was good.

Chopmist Charlies is local, friendly, comfy, easy-going, what your mom might have cooked on a nice dinner night - nothing too outrageous or fancy, but just good, filling, fresh food in a family atmosphere. I've had their chowder, perch, atlantic char, burgers, salads...good food, fair prices, friendly staff.

Not very clean. Chowda is gross...more like potato purée! Fish sandwich looked very good though... Meh.

Great food and really quick service. Had the Clam Digger. Stuffies were very tasty and the clear chowder was wonderful. My wife had the scallop salad and they were perfect.

Many of my friends were eating at a place down the street and they did not have room for us. Luckily my friend mentioned this place and we went for dinner. Excellant portions. Great service. Price was as expected in a Jamestown location.

Nice local feel. Pleasant server. Fried clams and lobster rolls were good, but not the best we've ever had.

Went here with my family from out of town when there was a 2+ hour wait at Simpatico. We were pleasantly surprised! All the seafood was fresh and delicious and the portions were huge. Very reasonably priced and cute casual atmosphere. Would definitely go back!

Food is OK, staff very friendly, noisey, wait list on a weekend, but we have gone back a number of times when we just want a no hassle quick meal. Wife complained about overpriced overcooked fish and made me go to Simpaticos, but I would eat here again mid-week

I had one lunch at this restaurant and got sick from it. Even if I didn't get ill, i don't think I would come back because of the low quality of the food and the high price. The salmon sandwich was mediocre and not worth the price. It also had wayyyy too much tartar sauce on it so that it ooozed out every side and made a mess. The french fries are horrible -- they have some sort of tater-tot-like coating. On the positive side: the multiple sides offered on sandwich platters is nice. And the waiters were very attentive and quick. You would be better off going to one of the nearby deli, pizza or other seafood places.

had a decent enough meal. two meals, with bottle of wine for 29?! you cannot go wrong there, although you should keep your expectations in check. the steamers were fine, so would go back if i wanted a no fuss meal at ok price

This place was totally mediocre from the food to the service to the cleanliness of the bathroom. I couldn't believe how expensive the food was given its quality, but I guess that is what you get for a tourist destination. The lobster bisque had chunks of heavy cream in it that you sort of had to chew. Super gross! My salad had weak spinach, but the scallops were outstanding. Really, the scallops were the highlight of the entire meal. The clam cakes came out without any sort of dipping sauce and they desperately needed it. We had to ask for multiple water refills, and it took our waitress more than 10 minutes to come to the table when we arrived. So, definitely a 2-star sort of experience.

Totally great - I've got no criticisms whatsoever of the food or the service here. Went in for dinner w/ three adults and two children. Between us we had the seafood sampler for an appetizer, and a scallop salad, lobster roll, and a broiled local bluefish that were on special. Everything was fantastic. The menu is enormous but they seem to pull everything off. Really really impressed.

Love the clam cakes, chowder, burgers, fries, and shrimp scampi. I usually get food to go, but the few times I have sat down to eat, the service was very good. Definitely my favorite place to eat in Jamestown.

Nice location in Jamestown, but I couldn't find any clams in my clam cakes, adn they were extremely salty. Disappointed!

This is one of our "go - to" places for dinner. All the food is fresh, prices are decent and the service is always pleasant. Its a very casual, low-key place. Great for all ages, and something on the menu for everyone. Love the Key Lime pie, too.

Dropped in here Tuesday night. Casual, quiet and comfy, it was a nice place for dinner after a long day. Broad seafood-Italian menu with standard pub fare too. I had the seafood au gratin, which was excellent. Moderate prices and friendly service put Chopmist Charlie's on our local faves list.

Was very disappointed tonight! Had open sign with menu specials outside and they refused to serve us. Used to come here all the time! You lost a loyal customer now.

Love Chopmists. I don't eat seafood, but their pasta and sandwiches are solid. We love the bar tenders and servers. We always go here and all the cousins, ranging from 30 to 14 are always happy. Good beer list.
