Have gotten mixed reviews from friends on this place so I had to try it. When we walked in I was surprised to see the large size of the place. We were seated promptly and our server brought complimentary chips and salsa which were great. I ordered the coronita which was also great. For my entree I ordered the burrito Durango and it was the most amazing burrito I've ever had. Very large and full of flavor. Overall the it was a good place. The service was definitely bad which is why I gave it 4 stars and not five. The server did not interact with us at all. Once we got our entrees our server did not follow up even once. Did not ask us if we would like another drink either. When the bill came it was a generic receipt which looked like it was typed and printed off a calculator and could not identify the charges. Will return but not sure if I will ever try anything other than the burrito Durango and hopefully the service improves.

Disappointed. I love Mexican food. I am going to be blunt. The staff is friendly. I asked for extra napkin twice - they smiled, said yes, napkin never came. Beans -absolute mush. Meat - unidentifiable. Salsa (hot) & chips not too bad. Margaritas tasted like lime Kool Aid. Rice -ho hum. Chimichanga - again, mush with tasteless sauce. Will not be rushing back.

Great place. There just isn't any Mexican food in the area and of the 3 places, Don Patron is by far the best. Chips and Salsa are good and overall food flavor and quality is good. Check it out.

Went there yesterday for dinner, it looked really nice outside and inside, huge spaces and a nice bar in the middle. So I walk in and the guy at the front desk starts looking at us for a wile before I broke the weird silence and told him that I need a table. We sit down and a lady comes with chips and a bottle of salsa, she puts it on the table and leaves. So we wait with no menus or drinks for a wile until our waiter came with the menus and took our drinks orders. After waiting for a wile I had to call him to come get our orders. Our food came in no time, it was the worst Mexican food I've ever had, it was tasteless and disgusting.

  • Benjamin S.

The food was drenched in sauce. The glasses the drinks were served in looked they hadn't been washed. The food came quickly, but it tasted like Mexican-microwaved-fast-food. The price was cheap and so was the food. It wasn't terrible, but not someplace I'm in a hurry to return to. If a friend wanted to go, I would. But I wouldn't be the one to suggest it

I've stopped coming here for dinner after having multiple mediocre to bad meals, along with bad service (it shouldn't take two hours for Mexican food). The food used to be really good, but the last couple times I went it tasted and looked old. Not only that, my stomach was upset afterwards.

Food is soooo good! Their chimichangas are my favorite!!! And the chicken nachos are to die for!!! Favorite Mexican restaraunt in town!!!

Listen... if you're thinking about going, leave at least 30 minutes extra to review the menu... this place has a HUGE menu and more options than most Chinese Restaurants. It would be hard to imagine not being able to find something to eat here. The wait staff is friendly and attentive. The food is fresh and tasty. The prices are very reasonable. The accommodations too are clean and spacious. It seems that it would be unusual to have to wait for a seat with the amount of space there. I had the Tomales and some sort of Chicken dish that escapes me now, but contained Chicken and Spinach. It was very tasty.

Seven words. There. Was. A. Cockroach. In. My. Lap. I think that should be more than enough info, but Yelp wants more. Basically it's like this. Went with a party of 8. Service was SUPER slow, but we had a big group and were having a good time, so quite frankly I didn't really notice all that much. I was 90% done with my dinner when I looked down and noticed there was a cockroach in my lap. They did give us a decent discount on our meal, but they didn't seem to be all that concerned about the roach. At one point they claimed to not know what it was, but somehow knew they were there and produced and exterminator card. Either way, I don't foresee myself returning any time soon.

  • Jim G.

I'll start by saying I used to love this place. My last two visits have consisted of roaches running around fake plants and a fruit fly in a friends beer. Not to mention they take whats left in a margarita glass and pour it back into the margarita maker!! Tonight a table of 7 waited for an hour for basic mexican food. Yes, it was busy but we never saw the server during that time. My entire table got served and I had to wait an additional 10 minutes for two burritos while everybody else ate. So back to the cockroaches... when I notified the waiter that there was, at least, one in the fake plant by our table, all he did was take it to the prep area and leave... NOTE: This review was interrupted by a cocroach FALLING FROM THE CEILING ON TO MY FRIENDS LAP! I'm not making this up! Wow! I went to the manager and he assured me that they were aware of the problem yet he didn't know what a cockroach was... then proceeded to show me a business card of an exterminator that they hired... remember this is 10 days after my first encounter with a cockroach. In the end, they gave us a $50 discount on a $150 bill, but man... I'm never going back. On top of everything the service is slow. Honestly, I feel bad for leaving this review but damn, they need to clean their act up. #gotoabranamarias

Normally very good food and decent service, but the last few trips the service has been slipping and it almost seems that the waiters have an attitude. Last night in particular they were very busy it took almost a half hour for the waiter to get the drink order, then almost an hour for the food to come. All the tables around us were frustrated with this one waiter to the point one table got up and left and another had to go find a different waiter. Hopefully not a trend but I think this particular guy needs to go.

  • Emily E.

Service was slow as hell. Took an hour for them to bring out two burritos! I love Mexican food and honestly wasn't very impressed. Mexican food isn't hard to mess up but this place did. On the way home my stomach started turning and I felt nauseous. I will NOT be coming back. Worst experience I have every had to be honest. Waiter disappeared after the first 45 minutes and then decided to come back and ask if we wanted refills. But by that time I was so hungry I didn't even care anymore. Was very close to walking out.

I love Don Patron! I come from Kansas, where you can find places like this on every corner, so its nice to have somewhere I can get reliably delicious Mexican food! Service is always friendly, dining area is always clean, orders are always accurate, and food always amazing. Recommend the chicken chimichanga and their enchiladas! Of course, that's just me. They have a great menu with lots of options, so check everything out! Will keep coming as long as I'm able to drag my fiancé along!

Went today and I must say that it was good food -- especially considering this is Mexican food in Pennsylvania. The host was friendly, personable. The wait staff was pleasant and my waitress in particular checked on me several times throughout the meal. The place is large so I'd definitely consider it a place to bring a large family or group of friends. I had the taco and beef burrito with refried rice and beans. I cleaned the plate! When I'm back in Williamsport and have a taste for Mexican food, I'll be back. Prices are extremely reasonable. I recommend this place.

Starving for decent Mexican food, we came right after Don Patron opened and were not impressed, but you could see the potential. They've gotten there. We haven't tried everything on the menu, but between my wife and me and two teenage boys, we've pretty much covered it. Aside from the first visit, we've loved everything we've gotten, from the combo meals to the fajitas to the seafood to the specialties. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because one particular server has a tendency to disappear on occasion. Otherwise, it really doesn't get a whole lot better.

I had an excellent experience. Was quickly waited on and the food was reasonably fast. My waitress was Nikki and she was always checking on me. See you again soon.

Closest thing to home in Texas!! The chips and salsa are supposed to have little flavor they aren't Pringles. Try the horchata if you never have this place may be draining my bank account

This place almost brought me back to Mexico. Service is fast and polite. The employees work hard to please you. Now the food... Never had better Mexican food in America the food is amazing and fantastic I will return.

Very prompt service, and so friendly. We were served quickly and the good was fresh, hot and SO good. The only reason I didn't give it a 5/5 is because my friend ordered chicken and got pork (she didn't care, the pork was fantastic) and the bathroom was quite dirty. We will definitely go back!!

  • Wesley D.

My wife, son, and I stopped here for dinner. After a few minutes of waiting, we were seated. The waiter brought chips and salsa and took our drinks order. After several minutes, the waiter returns with our drinks and takes our dinner order. We found the chips and salsa mediocre in taste at best. I've tasted much better salsas from jars coming from grocery stores to be honest. Our soft drinks were also watered down with no carbonation at all. After a fairly long wait our food finally arrived. Unfortunately, the quality of the food was not much better than the chips, salsa, and soft drinks. Everything tasted bland and lacking of proper seasoning. The size portions of my combination plate were also ridiculously small for the price paid. Anyone that considers this good Mexican food, apparently has never experienced what good Mexican food really is. It appears our search for good Mexican food in this area will continue.

Food was great, service a little slow. Grande Special gets you a little of everything. Complementary chips and salsa for the table. Fried ice cream or cheese cake chimichanga!

Great service! The wait staff took great care of my family and I! The food was typical Mexican but came out very fast! Delicious!

  • Bob V.

I was very impressed with this restaurant at my first visit. There is a big bar area and lots of seating the place is huge! The food came out really fast at lunchtime, I was surprised it was almost instant. This is probably the tastiest Mexican food I've ever had. I have the chicken burrito and it was amazing, the strips of chicken in the burrito we're grilled , delicious. I'll be coming back here many more times! It's my third time here and i'm hooked!

  • Noah S.

Servers are a little mute but eventually warm up to you. Very fast service and almost instantly got my order, waited only maybe 5 minutes. The enchiladas are excellent. I will def eat at this establishment again

  • Sarah B.

We went there with low expectations regarding the service but high expectations regarding the meal. The server was friendly and attentive. We didn't have to wait long for anything. The food, however, was bland and I've made better guacamole at home. The plates were so hot the server brought them out with oven mitts so I was baffled when the food was cold in the middle. Wet lettuce made the nachos soggy. Pineapples in my burrito were grilled until they nearly chipped my tooth. Needless to say, I won't likely return but it wasn't for the wait staff. For three people it was a $57 bill, you could make authentic tasting Mexican food at home, in your own kitchen for less.

I came here with a very large party - probably at least 20 people. I was impressed at their ability to bring out all of our food at around the same time. I ordered the Durango burrito - it was definitely good and HUGE. The menu is pretty extensive and has several "non-typical" Mexican dishes. I'd definitely like to try it again!

  • Katerina F.

To my surprise, I was impressed with the food! I had tilapia tacos, and they were really good. Margaritas could be a little bit stronger though :-)

  • Sarah W.

Good service but the food is ok at best. My family and I have gone three times now and every time the service has been good. The rice, and sauce are ok, chips and salsa are the best thing they serve. Over all I would not recommend this restaurant to a friend. There are two other Mexican restaurants in williamsport, Abrana Marie's and Ozzie and Mays, they are much better. Don't bother with this establishment it's just not worth the time or money.

Give Don Patron a chance people. Its the best REAL MEXICAN food in this area. Its not TEX MEX!. The menu is awesome and quite the variety of ways you can have beef or chicken and even pork. I ordered the Steak & cheese burrito and it was perfectly seasoned & cooked. The shredded beef is the way Mexican food is supposed to be prepared and they do just that. My friends & associates visit quite often now. Food is always hot and the Salsa is great. No tomato sauce tasting stuff there. The chimichangas were to die for. We are on our way back. Hope the Liqueur license is in so that we can enjoy a good Margarita along with our meal., Way to go Don Patrons!!!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
