My favorite Chinese restaurant. While I never enjoy the buffet, ordering off the menu is a real dream. My mom and I go here regularly when I am in town and we always order General Tso chicken and sautéed string beans. The chicken comes out piping hot and so crispy! The beans are bright green and served in a delicate garlic sauce. I'm not much of a rice eater, but I have to say that the fried rice that comes with it is also pretty good and not too greasy. We have been going here for years and it's always been very clean. It is true that sometimes the buffet doesn't look so fresh, but I beleive that's do to low volume. It's a small town. The family that owns this restaurant is so nice and takes their work very seriously. One time, they didn't have string beans and they sent their high-school age son (who was also waiting tables) to go buy string beans at the store! Further, a few months ago, even though it had been almost a year since I'd been there, they knew our order before we even placed it . . . Including the drinks and types of rice we wanted!

A pitiful example of a Chinese buffet. They charge extra for a slice of lemon for your water, the food has been sitting out for what tastes like hours and they have signs all over saying NO Doggie Bags!!. Not worth wasting your time if you're going to the buffet.

Don't set the bar too high, that way you won't be disappointed. The buffet here is embarrassing. Such a small selection of food that has been sitting out so long that it isn't even warm anymore. I try to avoid this restaurant.

After reading the unfavorable reviews, I was hesitant to try Golden Wok. I did so, though, for the lunch buffet on 21 March 2014, and wish I would have found the place sooner. I enjoyed it and it is certainly much better than Waynesburg's other Chinese restaurant, the overpriced Lam's Garden. The restaurant is attractive, clean, and spacious, and the staff was friendly. There is a small selection of tasty Chinese dishes for $7.95, including a small salad bar. The fried rice was not greasy as it is at most Chinese restaurants. The egg rolls were large and good. There was plenty of fresh broccoli, chopped carrot, and mushrooms in the dishes, a delight for this diner, who favors vegetarian Chinese meals. It is obvious to me that the regular diner will quickly become known by the staff and treated well. This is where I will dine on any trip to Waynesburg. Good job, Golden Wok!

Checked into hotel and looked for a fast pace to eat. Thought buffet was a great idea. When we got there it looked like food was sitting for hours and it was a very small selection but everyone was starving so we stayed and ordered of the menu. Hubby liked his chicken and broccoli. I was not a fan of the sauce chosen for my shrimp and broccoli and my fried rice tasted steamed. The egg role that came with my meal was taken straight off the scary looking buffet. Not made fresh. I just learned about this app today. From now on I will check reviews before going to a new place.

Waynesburg isn't known for being a cultural meca so actually I'm surprised it has any Chinese restaurants there, but as of now, at least there is the Golden Wok. I've never ordered off of the menu but I'm assuming it tastes exactly the same as on the buffet. I've been going there since I've been able to drive. It's nice to see the children who were coloring while we ate are now old enough to be our servers. The buffet is small- very small. The one good thing about it though is if there isn't something there they bring it right to your table. The taste is average. You know, it takes like a Chinese buffet. I don't take a bite and say, "oh damn this is the best broccoli and chicken I've ever tasted", but I'm not disgusted by it either. In a town with nothing people should be thankful there is any type of culture there at all, even if the culture is an average-tasting Chinese buffet.

I think that Golden Wok has the best chinese food in the area. I mean, no place has great chinese food but I do like the buffet choice here! I really like their lo mein and chicken and broccoli.

Ok food if you are in a hurry. Not much of a selection. Been there 3 times and was 1 of 3 customers or just the only one. 1 thing I hate about this place is they only give 1 "free" refill. And that "free" refill only comes 4/5 of the glass full.

Worse Chinese food ever. Someone needs to call the health inspectors on this place. I had the egg rolls which were old and nasty. Tasted like they were microwaved 3 days ago. I also had the sweet and sour chicken. Tasted more like fried batter with liquid chicken guts. The general joes chicken was covered in a layer of toxic ooze. The inside is an old dump with roaches and sticky chairs. Save your heart, go to subway.
