Pie-in-the-Sky generally means something that seems good but is not likely to be achieved. That was definitely not the case when I visited as my expectations were met and then some! I showed up for an eat-in lunch on a week day and these folks were really busy. I ordered a 7" Mushroom Cheesesteak and fries and grabbed a bottle of soda from the cooler. My lunch cost me $10 and change. The customer service here was excellent. The guy behind the counter asked me if I wanted a cup of ice for my bottled soda. There was a family there with small children and he offered to cut the pizza into smaller pieces for them. Are you kidding me! They didn't ask, he offered! My meal was out quickly. One bite of my cheesesteak and what a surprise, I could actually taste the cheese. That's not always true with inferior sandwiches. Everyone's taste in rolls is different. Here they are very very soft. Overall it was an excellent sandwich. My fries were hot and crispy and once again I was surprised. I could actually taste potato instead of just fried slabs of carbs used for moving ketchup into your mouth! If you decide to eat in this is a small place with seating for twenty something. The atmosphere is classic pizza joint. My fellow Yelpers say this is a four star place and I agree.

Order a pepperoni pizza for delivery while watching the (terrible) Eagles game at 7pm on a Sunday. Ask for pineapples on half. I receive a call 10 minutes later to inform me that the place is out of pineapple, would I like something else? No biggie. Yes, please I would like mushrooms instead. "Oh, we're out of mushrooms too." What? Total joke. Place sells pizza. It's not very difficult to keep toppings stocked. Complete lack of caring. There are 2 grocery stores within 2 miles that sell both...pineapples and mushrooms. This will be the last time ordering from this "pizza place". The pizza's not that different from other joints and there's too much competition to care so little, IMO. At this point I'm surprised they have cheese in the house.

Great cheesesteak, milk shakes, and sky pillows. Nice little place to grab a bite. Downsides: all the little rms kiddos who park themselves in there for hours on end. Also, the past several times I've ordered by the slice, the pizza is obviously old and had been sitting out.

Veggie hoagie is the most disgusting thing I have ever taken a bite out of. Who wants to eat canned chopped black olives and canned mushrooms. Barf.

Delish! Sky pillows are such a treat, and pizza is very good. The sandwiches are yummy.

Pie in the Sky is a great small town pizzeria! The employees greet you when you walk in and are gracious. They'll bring your order right out to you! The food is fresh and the pizza is great. The place is small inside, but looks like it can hold about 15-20 people & clean. They have a delivery service as well. You can't go wrong with this place. I'd rather order food here and support them rather than a big business chain.

OMG. Pie In the Sky pizza tastes even better than I remember, having last tried it for the first time approx. 15 years ago when I was in middle school. I long thought their offerings would be more suitable for the adolescent me's palate, but a pizza craving fortuitously lead me back. I called in a slice of cheese 5 minutes before they closed. The owner was gracious, welcoming, and insisted it was no problem. When I picked it up, the aromas exuding from the box were amazingly enticing. I sat in my car and opened the box for a sneak preview. I then proceeded to Hoover the entire slice. Two things to keep in mind: 1) I hardly ever eat the crust of a pizza, but this slice was perfectly cooked 2) I am very picky about pizza. Everything was perfect. The ratios of components were on point, the sauce and the cheese were amazing, and the thin crust had a crisp outer shell with a soft inner layer. I only wish I had gotten an entire pie so I could have more for later and to share with my BF.

The pizza is very good. I opted for a couple of slices of pepperoni. Crust is thin. Slices are large. Fold the slice over and enjoy! I highly recommend if you're in the area and in the mood for pizza. And by the way, the prices are very reasonable.

Good pizza, very casual environment. They deliver (not sure on distance or cost). Don't expect a restaurant feel.

Wow. That was amazing pizza. I'd post a pic but I are my 2 slices already! Wow great pizza. The gal who took my order was super sweet. All the food came just as ordered. Delivery gentleman was cute and very courteous. I wish I was in the area more often cause this place is amazing.

Really great if you go in, friendly people and great food. Just don't ask for delivery. I waited over an hour and I live about 10 minutes away. They called an our into the wait to ask again what my, very simple, street name was that I had repeated twice on the phone. This could have been a one time deal though and the food was great when it got here.

Pie in the Sky has improved greatly since Joe Orsatti took over several years ago and it has become a thriving business in downtown Wayne. Joe is friendly and very hard working. What more can he do to get his now thriving business better? Well, for one thing, maybe he can listen to criticisms from his customers. When they complain that the pizza they got delivered is sometimes not the one they ordered (no pepperoni), or when customers complain about the quality of the food they bought... maybe he should listen. Because, you know, it never hurts... PLUS the customer sometimes just might have a valid complaint. If Joe doesn't listen to them enough, Joe might find them walking down the block to New Wayne Pizza, even though their Mama Boss wrote the book on not listening to customer concerns. A couple of weeks ago, I ordered two orders of fried chicken wings and fries (plus several other hoagies). When we brought them to our office, we found the wings and fries completely over-cooked and dried out. We were very hungry so we ate one order, but after dinner, I called Joe to tell him of what happened, and he told me that the next time we ordered the wings, it would be on-the-house. We returned the order -- even though Joe said we didn't need to -- but I wanted him to see it and taste it. Did he taste them? Well, uh... Yesterday, I met Joe and I reminded him about the incident. Since I had been in the Fast Food business for several years, I thought he would appreciate my comments. (Having gone through the McDonald's manager training program, I now understand the importance of getting complaints. The worst thing for a restaurant is to not get complaints, so if things start not doing well, you are shut off from an important avenue of customer feedback.) I have NEVER complained to Joe about... anything! Well, Joe disappointed me. He was defensive and claimed our complaint was out of line. The wings and fries looked fine to him, he said. Did he taste them? Well, uh... I apologized profusely. And I certainly won't be asking for a free order of wings and fries for the order we returned. I like Joe and wish him success. But if you order the wings and fries, make sure to tell them NOT to over-cook them. Please!

I didn't realize it was vegan/vegetarian, good sandwich though.

This place stinks. No idea why they get decent reviews (or why I keep giving them second chances because of it). This time I placed a delivery order and was told "45 minutes to an hour". An hour later I called and they said "he's on his way there". Twenty minutes after that I called again and they said "he just left with your order". I said "call him and tell him to come back to the store, I don't like being lied to". Don't bother with PITS, just call New Wayne Pizza, they're fast, friendly, and their food is better anyway!

There are definitely not a lack of pizza places in Wayne, but after three years of trying nearly all of them I think I've settled on Pie in the Sky as my go-to place. The cheesesteaks here are very good and pizza is great. I read someone else saying Vic and Dean's is better for cheesesteaks but personally I prefer Pie in the Sky's (no offense against Vic and Dean's they're still very good too). The staff are always extremely friendly and prices are reasonable. There's also a decent number of tables to sit at if you want to eat there instead of take out, which a few of the other nearby pizza places lack.

Pizza is good but the staff is pretty incompetent. I've ordered from there twice and both times they have messed up my order. The first time it happened I brought it to their attention and they were very good about it. Made me a new pizza and discounted my bill. The second time I didn't feel like waiting around for a new pizza to be made so I just accepted it and will never go there again.

I am only in town on business and I really wanted a good pizza for dinner. Reviews showed this place was great, and maybe some other time they would have been, but unfortunately when I ordered take out, which someone picked up for me, we discovered they forgot to put pepperonis on my pepperoni/pineapple/jalapeno pizza. The person I had pick it up for me said she literally saw them write pepperoni down because she had gone there to order it, not simply place it over the phone. Since it was a big order, my friends didn't check before leaving, which is a shame on them, but a pizza shouldn't be missing it's ingredient anyway. In the end, they also forgot our side of sauce but my group caught that before heading out. The food itself was alright. Worth getting I'd say, even though I wasn't psyched about a pineapple and jalapeno pizza I had to eat, but just BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR ORDER BEFOFE LEAVING THE PROPERTY because it is clear they screw up...

Good pizza and surprisingly excellent cheesesteaks. The white pizza is a little different, but delicious. Nice people too.

Pizza is just okay...not a whole lot of flavor unless you get the pepperoni. Liked the variety of the menu. Will have to come back and try the sandwiches. In Wayne, Anthonys Coal Fired is much better.

Great atmosphere in a fun strip of Wayne. The pizza is solid--very good New York style pizza, but nothing earth-shattering. Worth the trip, but probably not worth a constant return visit.

Pie in the sky is the best. It always has been. I think it's rude to recommend someone elses business. Comment on the food and the atmosphere. Joe has done a great job turning the place around. It's been a staple of the community since 1970.

Amazing veggie burger! One of the best pizza places in Wayne! Prices are average for pizza places in the area. The menu has plenty of options for vegetarians which is nice for a change. There is also a lot of variety on the menu ranging from pizza to pasta to even Mexican food. Everything seemed fresh and tasted amazing. I definitely recommend stopping by for a bite to eat!

1/2 and 1/2 cheesesteak. That's all I have to say. I believe it's only a special, not a regular menu item, so you may have to wait for it. It's half chicken cheesesteak and half beef. It was really good. The service was a little slow, but it was a lunchtime rush so I understand. All for 6.95. Can't beat it. I'll be back.

    * Cheesesteak = 4 (Very Good) * Pizza = 3 (Sauce is really Herby, lots of Oregano, etc.) * Chocolate Chip Cookies = 2 (I prefer soft & chewy)

Amazing!! Since the Orsatti family took over it has been a complete 360 turn for the better Pizza is ridiculously great. Thin crust, super cheesy and a sweeter sauce (which I really love) they will make any combo you can think of but I really love the plain well done. Cheesesteaks are out of this world. Fried onions and mushrooms chopped very fine and melted with the cheese to perfection. The unsung heroes are really the sandwiches which include things like steak, broccoli rabe and excellent bread! Sky pillows are a good treat but everything is made with love and from what I've seen no one puts more honesty and integrity into their food.

Worst pizza, worst stromboli and the portions for sides compared to the price is ridiculous.

good pizza. average onion rings and french fries and awesome WINGS!! I've tried many many wings around but still this place serves the best chicken wings.

Cheesesteak at at a pizza place? Or pizza at a cheesesteak place? Go cheesesteak. I'm tellin' ya. And this good at this price? You simply can't pass this up...it would be a giant mistake.

I love their fried chicken wings with hot sauce. The skin is so crisp and the chicken is cooked perfectly. The fries are pretty good too. Pizza is OK but I love the wings so much that I never get anything else. They're that good.

They are called Sky Pillows--fried dough balls doused in powdered sugar and served in a paper bag. (Think funnel cake.) These things are SO good! Oh, and they are only $2.50. Nice! Sorry, never had the pizza.

Visiting the Philadelphia area for the first time and had to try their cheesesteak. This place got good reviews but I'm wondering if it was more for their chicken cheesesteaks? I ordered the beef cheesesteak along with eggplant parm fries but perhaps my mistake was bringing it back to the hotel to eat instead of chewing down there? Sure enough when I got back and tore apart the wrap, the bread was a little soggy and the eggplant fries probably would've been more crispy. Everything still taste good though but what's the hype? Maybe I need to try Pat's or Gino's closer to the city?

We recently moved to the area and have now tried 4 local pizza shops. Three of them were terrible - carelessly shelling out old, hardened, burnt, or sloppy slices. One other place is very good, but features an uncommon style/flavor. Had just one slice of plain cheese from Pie in the Sky today, and it was like finding HOME! It was the ideal prototype of the fresh, high-quality thin crust variety. I'm not a chef, so can't really identify the reason (ingredients vs. preparation), but suffice to say that the combination of bread, sauce, cheese, and temperature were perfect. Also a nice touch that the slice was delivered to my table once ready... not to be taken for granted anymore. Finally I've found my "go-to" local pizza place!

I wanted to venture into the town of Wayne and stray away from my staple Genaurdi's lunch during work one day. I went onto the cute street of Lancaster Ave. where I knew a bunch of great restaurants resided and picked a pizza place - Pie in the Sky. I was in the mood for a good chicken cheesesteak. Little did I know I was in for the best freakin' chicken cheesesteak of my life. And I've had a lot of chicken cheesesteaks.... I went back 2 days later to get my fix again and told the guys working how much I loved it and they informed me that they had actually just been picked as Philadelphia magazine's Best of Philly in the cheesesteak dept. I was not at all surprised. I was just really excited that I had this unsung hero of cheesesteaks right under my nose on my lunchbreak! I did, however, yell at them for using styrofoam boxes for takeout. Not green at all. But they were more concerned with making sure my delicious sandwich didn't get smushed. Maybe one day I'll get to design them a green-friendly, smush-free box. Consider it a goal.

While I can't say its the best pizza in the 'burbs, its easily the best in Wayne, and actually very affordable given its location. When I lived in Devon this was the place all the old-time locals swore by, which usually means it'll be decent-but-not-great, but I was actually rather pleased with it. Again, I've had better pizza for sure, but your options are limited in Wayne and given that backdrop they earn an extra star. The service was friendly, and they also offer steaks, calzones, burgers (including veggie and black bean), and some Mexican(!?) food too. I only ever got the pizza but people seemed to be diggin' on the other stuff so there you go. Stop by if you are in the area and want some cheesy-saucy love.

Love the pizza. Cheesesteaks are great. Hot wings are amazing. I understand pizza is a very personal thing, but I love the pizza dough from Pie in the Sky. The new whole wheat dough is pretty good too, you should give it a try. The staff is very friendly and courteous. Thumbs up!

Save your money and head elsewhere! Up until a month ago, Pie in the Sky made fantastic pizza; then the pizza changed. In particular, the quality of the ingredients has fallen. The sauce is acidic and lacks flavor, while the cheese.... Well, the cheese is clearly processed cheese and it hardly covers a slice.
