Great place for breakfast. Specials are plentiful and offers something for everyone. The food is freshly prepared and offered in large proportions. The decor is kinda outdated, but cozy. The service is fast and friendly. Definitely one of my new breakfast places.

Friendly service. Decor...cluttered & string lights - why??? Need to remove carpet (smells & stained). Breakfast eggs good, but homefries mushy - not crispey.

A pork roll, egg, and cheese on a kaiser roll set me straight here for a delicious and quick weekday lunch. The eggs were a bit more browned than I like, but they were real and the whole sandwich was very tasty. Good distribution of cheese and nicely griddled pork roll. My colleagues got a cheesesteak and various breakfast plates and everyone was quite content. The atmosphere is great, reminds me of little greasy spoon cafes back home in central Maine. Lots of old timers, very low key and casual. It's a hidden gem!

Erwin's Country Kitchen is along the strip of Brownsville Road in Trevose that helps you understand what commercial development without zoning looks like. Ugly. So, don't be too discouraged as you drive down the street looking for 4059. There it is on the south side of the street with the small white sign hanging high above the front door. Rest assured that once you come inside you will be relieved to find yourself smack in the middle of 1959, greeted by a black and white poster of Marilyn Monroe and another of a more colorful James Dean. Rebel Without A Cause. But, this time warping is a good thing. The spacious dining room relaxes and helps recollect a time when things were good in grandma's home. The wait people were lovely and straight from central casting. They were in perpetual motion, bringing fresh coffee and large white plates full of grub to the starving masses. When I came in, a group of ladies were in a breakfast meeting, and it looked like they might have been there for several years. They showed no inclination to leave, and remained after I departed. I wondered about their agenda. The deuce along the wall in the back space near the kitchen was a great place to watch the play unfolding. The coffee came quickly in an odd mug, and with large half/half cupettes. It was constantly refreshed before I reached the bottom, and it was not difficult to maintain the proper proportion of java to cream with small pours from the creamers. I ordered the French Toast (as I usually do), and was asked for the first time in my life whether I wanted thick or thin sliced bread. Astute question. While the intuitive decision is to get more and go with the thick cut, I have the contrary opinion. Too often the thicker Texas/Challah Style leaves the bread eggless in its heart, and thus dry. I prefer the thinner option as it tends to be moist to the center, thoroughly cooked, and better carmelized on the surface. Those burn points provide the crunch I desire. When the plate arrived, it had six half slices of toast, well grilled, and heavily sprinkled with powdered sugar. A small paper cup of butter allowed for a light application of lubricant and additional subtle flavoring. The syrup came in an old spring load top pitcher, which I promptly lifted over the plate for a healthy pour. The French Toast was quite good, but not attaining the pantheon of the gods. It needed another minute on the hot grill, and a drop of vanilla in the egg mix for soft mellow unique sweetness. I will return to see Erwin again. The menu looked to hold other secrets worth exploring, and it is not every day that I can slip in and out of the 50's without getting the bends.

Honestly this place is about as German as I am. Slapping sour kraut on something does not equal German food in my book. When we went nothing was all that good and most of it was not made fresh. I am looking at you box mashed potatoes and gravy. Maybe I need to come on one of the night they are cooking the rabbit or something but as it stands my lunch was not much more than bad diner food.

Went here on a Sunday morning for breakfast for the first time a few months ago. If you were just driving by , I doubt this place would even catch your eye. I tried it out based on Yelp reviews! The line was out the door and the restaurant was packed and bustling. Despite this, we were seated immediately and served quickly by our server who was so sweet! The food was amazing (especially a chocolate chip pumpkin pancake I had.... have been craving since ) Erwins was adorable and I'll jump right on highly recommending it!

This is a homey, kitschy sort of place that serves honest-to-goodness home style cooking. We stopped here for a Sunday morning breakfast. The place was packed but we had no trouble getting seated immediately. The service was excellent and the food was very satisfying and plentiful. Nothing fancy, just good solid grub like mom use to make or maybe grandma depending on your generation. In either case, it's good! They have a large parking lot which was full that morning but we were able to park across the street without a problem. Try this place, you'll like it.

Good food but slow serivce. My fiance is german he said this sort of reminds him of granny's cooking. Close but no cigar.

Erwin's is my favorite place to eat in the feasterville area. Very laid back dining. It almost feels like you've stepped into the south. The waitress's are very nice. If your looking for a home cooked delicious meal without spending a fortune this is your place. Between my family and myself, we've tried just about everything on the menu. The meatloaf and the super chicken schnitzel are my 2 favorite meals.

It's a busy place. But the food and friendly staff make up for it. Fast seating, but I felt rushed to finish food and leave. People were waiting to be seated and didn't want to be inconsiderate. Philly cheesesteak wrap was delicious. My husband enjoyed the kielbasa breakfast sampler as well. Make sure you have cash for tip!!

Cute little place to have a morning breakfast. The prices are great, service is not bad. They try to seat people as fast as possible, even on the busy time for them on the weekends. Waiting for your food is kinda slow but I can accept that because there so busy. kielbasa, egg, And cheese on kaiser roll are good. Coffee is not bad, Comes in cute little cup. The Home fries, Well was not crazy about them. There not crispy. It's kinda like eating mashed up potatoes. Would have like to see them crispy. But over all I see myself going back for breakfast again.

Food was pretty ordinary and plain, for breakfast fare. Toast came unbuttered which was disaspointing. Solid place for breakfast if your in the area as it was clean and decor was interesting, but, I would not travel far out of my way.

My family and I went here for breakfast on a recent vacation to Sesame Place based on the positive Yelp reviews. The restaurant itself is homey and clearly a favorite with the locals. The interior is decorated with loads of movie and music memorabilia, and the smell of the place reminds me of an Elks hall (not necessarily a negative). One thing we checked ahead of time was if the place accepts credit cards. (It does.) It being the end of our trip, we were getting short on cash. When we were walking in, we noticed a sign that said they would not accept credit cards for checks under $10. No problem, there were four of us. The menu pretty standard as far as breakfast goes - pancakes, french toast, omelets, etc. with some Pennsylvania staples such as scrapple. My kids and I ordered pancakes, and my wife ordered eggs, bacon, and home fries. All of it was quite good, and in fact the pancakes were among some of the best I've had. The coffee was strong, which is always a big plus for me. Unfortunately, this is where the positives ended. Our check came out (totaling something like $17), and I pretty quickly got my credit card out. Five minutes went by, then ten. I started noticing the waitress actively ignoring our table and credit card, and I couldn't seem to get her attention At this point, my kids were getting antsy, so my wife brought them to the car to wait for me. Finally, as one of waitresses was refilling someone's coffee, I managed to flag her down and give her the card. She returned with the receipt, which for some reason had no line for a tip - it just had the total. I could be wrong, but I think this is why the waitresses were giving me the cold shoulder. Panicking a little, I crossed out the total and added a tip, but walking out, this didn't seem like it would be acceptable, so I managed to scrounge up $5 from the car. On returning, I signaled the nearest waitress and apologized for not knowing that a tip couldn't be included in the bill. She just stared back blankly. Exit, stage left, feeling two inches tall. Erwin's, if your policy is that tips have to be in cash, you have to post it somewhere, so that hapless outsiders don't embarrass themselves.

Great prices and above average breakfast fare. The ambience lends to the overall welcome home vibe of the place and we have never been disappointed.

One of the best breakfasts in Bucks County, and an eclectic lunch and dinner menu as well. The food is genuine home made and every item on the menu is top notch and fresh. I drove past this pace hundreds of times over the years without ever stopping in until a friend raved about it. So I finally made the time to stop in and I have never been disappointed since. Perfectly prepared schnitzel, an amazing creamy sauerkraut, and so much more. The atmosphere is different to say the least but it's kind of cozy. Now I'm a regular usually enjoying a mal here at least once a week. Even the coffee is really great! Want a change from the "chains" or fast food? tired of that same old pizza or some lame take out? Eat at Irwin's, you wont be disappointed!

If you are a gourmet food snob or need a more formal setting, you have other options which will give you food less well-cooked at twice the price. But if you like friendly service, fresh food perfectly done, in a very informal setting then Erwins Country Kitchen is the place to go. Fine dining it is not, but it is absolutely a fine place to eat.

Honestly...good food at a slow pace but done right. Is like the place that time forgot...prices are really cheap...home decor and table utensils are random and you get that comfort sense of home. Always busy for breakfast and lunch...and food is always exactly what you expect...dinner though needs some work....and they have a friendly staff.

Quick service and tasty food! Great prices too. Cheese omelette for less than $5. I will definitely recommend it.

Cute little spot to have breakfast, the eclectic decor and dishes make it feel very mom and pop. The breakfast potatoes are delicious. Make sure to bring cash for a tip since you can't add it on the credit card ($10 min).

Belgium waffles, scrapple, scrambled eggs, potatoes and onions, English muffin, coffee. All perfect, great quality and delicious. A 30 min drive from jersey was well with it. Family neighborhoodie type feel - tables are close and you end up talking to those around you. Awesome breakfast culture. We have a 14 month old and then brought out a toy for him to play with at the table. 10's all around. From food, service, experience and atmosphere etc. can't wait to try a dinner here!

Sweet brown sugar, warm raisins, cream and butter... all swirling in delicious homemade oatmeal. A side of thick, juicy, pink kielbasa, perfectly seared. Sunny side up eggs - bright, yellow yolks, dribbling over crispy bacon and flavorful chunks of hash browned potatoes... these are a few of my favorite things...

This place does not have a website. The hours listed for this place on Yelp include Monday. I do not know what the issue was, why they weren't open this morning when we drove 45 minutes to get there, but they weren't and there was no sign, nothing at all listing their hours - NOTHING! Not happy after driving all that distance and reading the wonderful reviews to find them closed without so much as a sign!

Love at first bite. Very simplistic, very cozy, very tasty. This is one of the places where you go to eat and while the menu is geared towards German cuisine (meat, sour kraut, etc) you can still find lots of goodies for very low price. All food has the real home made feel to it. Waiting staff is great, fast, friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely coming back there.

This small country kitchen located in the heart of Trevose looks outdated, but packs a punch with home cooked meals. The menu has traditional German cuisine like schnitzel. I had the Schnitzel Jaeger (red sauce, mushrooms, peppers, onions, bacon) and it was very tasty. Meals come with choice of two sides and I went with the spatula, and the sour kraut. The kraut was delicious, very well seasoned, and creamy, nothing like I've had before. The menu also has seafood, and more american style dishes which we did not try. The cost was very reasonable, it was only $20 bucks for two people. They take credit cards, but tips are cash only.

Always a great meal. Authentic German. Everything is made from fresh ingredients, made to order. The Veinershnitzel is the best, and so is everything else. Special Duck Nights a few time per year are a special treat. See pictures from October 7th 2009 Duck Night. BYOB

A very small German/American restaurant where locals eat regularly. Breakfast is good and can be enhanced by having homemade potato pancakes and sausages of a different variety than the norm. Lunch & dinners offer traditional American dishes and many German entrees and sides. The food is good and the servers are well seasoned, like the food.

I have only been here for breakfast so that is what the review is on - When you walk in you feel like you walked into someones living room, odd decor, quaint and country like - food was very very good - I had french toast with apples and potato pancakes (they would get 4 stars just for having them on the menu :)) and my husband had some sort of ommelette - The food was normal and solid, no crazy ingredients and was pretty inexpensive - beware though, it can get crowded for breakfast, I guess thats a good thing though.....

Went there for lunch...food was good and the prices were great. However, I would not really call this a German restaurant, given the relatively few German items offered. Still, it is worth a visit.
