Who doesn't love Cracker Barrel? no seriously.... If you have never been it's a great family restaurant that always has a cool gift shop attached. The shop carries vintage toys and also some modern ones as well. Depending on the location you are in, you may also find; jewelry, candles, and other cool stuff. One of my favorite things about Cracker Barrel is the fact that they serve breakfast all day, which was our reason for coming. I had the Pancake sampler and my guest had Biscuits and Grits, Eggs, hash with a side of apples. The food comes out pretty quick and the service was good.

For the first time that I've ever visited Cracker Barrel, I was a little disappointed with what I ordered. Mostly I stick to breakfast items but decided to order the meatloaf on this visit. It wasn't terrible, but I wouldn't order it again. Was a little mushy without a lot of flavor. I tried the fried okra and hash browns for sides. Hash browns tasted old and dry and the okra was without any flavor at all. Another disappointment was a cheeseburger kids meal, which was more like a well done, dried out mini frisbee disc. Fortunately the overly tired kid loves french fries and apples so a crisis was avoided :-) Anyway, I'm still giving it 3 stars because our server was excellent and perusing the gift shop prior to leaving is fun because I always seem to find a retro candy bar that brings me back to my childhood.

My son's father and I would come here every other sunday morning for brunch and we just LOVED it, especially when it started getting chilly outside. When I first started going here I would always get sucked in by the famous Pancake trap, but as I kept coming, I ventured out in to a few more dishes and then I ended up settling on the Egg Sandwich with the slice of Tomato and Cheddar Cheese on Sourdough. The Blueberry Muffins and Spiced Apples are spectacular as well as the Strawberry Lemonade. I still go with my son even though my ex and I have split for years.

Ask for Chyenne's table. Outstanding, the chicken and dumplings, mac and cheese and the hashbrown casserole are all a MUST. Combine this with great service, she made you feel at home and welcome without being pushy to the point of unwanted. Simply outstanding experience.

A guilty pleasure. Nothing here is really that good, but it often hits the spot so right that you have to keep coming back for more. Be sure to eat the biscuits and gravy ASAP for they taste super gross once they cool.

So i'm from the south, TX to be more precise and I've been to a couple of these chains down there. Typically they were pretty good. This one here at Nashaminy is awful. We went in for a Sunday night dinner; and i've been talking the place up to my fiance but we left utterly dissappointed The waitress was very slow, she obviously did not know the menu at all. I had the country fried steak with mash potatoes with brown gravy, mac and cheese, and fried okra My fiance had the sampler which included meatloaf, ham, and chicken and dumplings. She got flustered when it came to her sides, so she ordered the hashbrown casserole, cole slaw, and without realizing it more chicken and dumplings. At this point i would expect the waitress to correct her and let he know that she will be getting it with her meal; the waitress did not. Then as she brought out our entrees she informed us that the kitchen is out of the dumplings so she would be able to substitute a side. My fiance asked what were the options again for the sides and the waitress had no idea. Finally my fiance just asked for a baked potato. The waitress comes back 10 mins later with a small side of the dumplings and said the kitchen just made some. How are they out of it when they can obviously just make some more? In the side order there was absolutely no chicken only flour dumplings. Then we realized that my wife was missing somehting on her sampler platter and the waitress didn't know what that was either. So she left to go check and then she came back with a full plate of more dumplings stating that was what was missing. The entire plate was full but only had 2 pieces of chicken and it was very under-seasoned. My country fried steak was completely covered in white gravy that was also underseasoned; so much so that it took away flavor from the steak. I was literally scraping it off. The mash potato had a watery consistancy, even worse than mash out of the box! The brown gravy tasted like nothing as well. All in all we left extremely disappointed. We will never come back here.

Good food for the money. It's the one place that my picky family can go and no one complains. Great breakfast. Sometimes you can luck up and skip the wait but it's worth it.

It is ok southern style food. Nothing really special but it is the same every where I have been.

I don't know. My friend whom I tend to trust when it comes to food recommendations said he like CB and would often go to one on a long trip (they only open them right near a major highway, in this case I-95/US-1/PA Turnpike). I went here with him and got chicken and cornbread. I wasn't really impressed at all with the food and I don't like the idea of restaurants with tons of crap on the wall or a gift shop (why?). Service was fair and prices were on par. I just wasn't blown away at all and would prefer to go to any of the several non-chains in the (this) area.

Ok, this may read like a strange review or you may even question my 3 star rating but I have had some of the worst food ever here but I have also had real tasty meals. The front has a cute country store .I'm into Halloween and have found some real unique quality pieces to add to my collection. They have a lot of old time candy that you have to be an old timer to appreciate. Not there yet thank God ! All sorts licorce doesn't ring my bell. Back to the food. Fine for breakfast foods that they serve all day. Each order with eggs comes sides with white gravey and grits. The blueberry pancakes are popular with a lot of my friends and they go out of their way to get them. .Sunday chicken dinner is two white chicken breast de-boned breaded and fired to perfection.Huge! Very good. .I also have had nice coffee and shared a delicious warm apple cobbler dessert with warm carmel and vanilla icecream in front of the giant fireplace in the winter and couldn't think of any place I would have been more content., Now the bad part. Cold semi raw catfish.Mealy terrible cornbread.(Be kind to yourself)and ask for just biscuits, butter jam ,or honey .They are good ! Bland meatloaf, bad service, crowded loud families that let the kids bang into you as they run around the tables. Loud blue grass music, dishes knocked to the floor as people squeeze pass tables set too close to each other. .Air conditioning as cold as the walk in freezer in the back. Note to all bring a sleeved garment. Not just grandma is going to be an ice pop.We constantly see people being sent to the car to get something to cover their bare arms with. Burrrrrrr! If you go ask for Sue.She has given us nice service and will not bring out the plate unless everything looks right. While talking with her she told us how the fries can be 6 fries on a plate or overflowing depending on who is cooking. She will stand there and get that plate right. The problem is she is not always their and some of the other staff don't care. So ,as I said this has been a hard restaurant for me to review since we have had such dramatically different experiences.

Cracker Barrel is a mediocre chain which is popular maybe because everyone accepts the mediocre food because of its style or quantity or price or the phony-downhome decor. It is to Southern cooking what Olive Garden is to Italian food, the American corporate chain bland version, a shadow of the real thing. It took me a while to realize that they are just a cafeteria with the server retreiving your food from the buffet. Really. Notice their are no made-to-order omelets on this menu. The kitchen just pumps out scrambles or sunny eggs. An entree with three sides just means walking down the steam table and selecting the meat and the sides which are already pre-prepared. That is why Hien D. could be told no dumplings and then yes dumplings. The kitchen staff replenished the dumpling pan. And since they are scooping it out of a large pan, you only get as much chicken as your server takes care to fish it out for you. The blandness is the trend of chains restaurants to take some salt out of your food to have bragging rights about how healthy their food is. They menu featured their healthy selections. Look around the room, who is eating the granola and bran muffins? One trick about breakfast. Food $6.99, coffee $1.99, orange juice $2.99. The beverages pump up the fairly cheap 7 dollar breakfast to not-such-a-bargain 12 dollars. Still, I like this place. I like the service. I enjoy the mediocre food and I keep going back.

This is one of my favorite chain restaurants! I must not be the only one, because when I was there, this past week, the server boasted how they have just been named America's #1 family restaurant for the 18th straight year! Cool. I know I love their food! She said they are opening new stores North and West so, if you do not have one now, be sure to remember the name and look out for them to come your way! Redefining chains.... I Love Cracker Barrel!

I never really liked Cracker Barrel for breakfast, but this particular day, i went with my mom for her birthday breakfast, and everything was superb. The waitress was incredibly friendly and fast with our orders and meals. I ordered the eggs in a basket, the bread with the egg cooked inside of it, talk about the best eggs and sourdough bread toast I ever had in my life!!! so yummy!!! the meal started with biscuits and apple butter which is always my favorite thing to eat at cracker barrel, so yummy. I had bacon with the eggs and it was so crispy and meaty, not a ounce of fat on it... so tasty and cooked the way I like it. and it came with fried apples, that were in this sauce, stuff, so yummy. I would definetly go back there for that meal it was perfect, one of the best breakfasts I had in a long time. My mom was also very pleased with her meal, she had the mixed berry pancakes, with fruit on top, she mustve loved it because her plate was empty, and she doesnt usually eat that much!!! Her bacon and eggs were also cooked to perfection and she enjoyed the biscuits and appke butter. Cracker Barrel changed my mond about them, on this visit and I look forward to going back there again soon.

We eat here every so often, but it's really just ok to me. For breakfast, I get either:Mama's French Toast Breakfast or Mama's Pancake Breakfast, which is french toast or pancakes, with 2 eggs. (make mine scrambled w/ cheese and onions), and turkey sausage. It's ok, but nothing special. They NEVER give you enough syrup here for some reason. For dinner, I've had: Chicken N Rice, (Bland! Doesn't taste homestyle AT ALL!!!!), Country Fried Steak, (So-so), Country Fried Shrimp (Edible!), and the Haddock DInner. For my sides, I typically order: corn, okra, maccaroni and cheese, mashed potatos, fried apples or cole slaw. Their desserts are ok too: Apple Dumplings w/ icecream or fruit cobbler are my favorites. The worst part about this place are the kids. Yeah, I said it.... I'm a teacher, but when I'm NOT at work, keep your screaming, bratty kids out of my sight!!! Feels too much like working!!! LOL

Came across the area one morning and i was craving for some breakfast food. I found Cracker Barrel on search and I'm so glad I did. I've tried their sunrise sampler and mamma's pancakes. It was SO GOOD and so affordable too. Its the best pancakes I've ever had. I usually don't even eat pancakes but I've been craving ever since. I was confused upon entering because it looked like a shop, which I wasnt expecting. The shop itself is cute and filled with interesting goodies. My favorite parts are their homemade crafts and cards, and their oldies candies, brings back a lot of memories. Love it!

Decided I didn't feel like making Thanksgiving dinner. So desided to go to Cracker Barrel, It was the worst experience I've ever had hear. The staff was not ready or prepared, I was told 30 min wait. Then turn in to 1 hour 20 min wait. Then finally got seated. Find then the turkey meal for kids you can't get no juice only lemonade or soda I think is unfair to the children, The service was horrible the whole time having Thanksgiving dinner the Waitress only came over 1 time. And the food was cold, and the pumpkin pie don't even come out on a dish it comes out in alittle container. I just hope other people had a better experience than what I did, It's a shame because the breakfast lunch and dinner has always been good here, except for Thanksgiving!!

Waited over 45 minutes for our food, arrived cold. Tried to speak with management and they didn't even care. As we were eating, then noticed the chicken was raw. Don't come here unless you have 2 hours for dinner and want uncooked food.

Mixed experience. Very skimpy side salad and sweet potato. Waiter got my lemon pepper grilled rainbow trout order wrong and luckily noticed in time but then had to wait another 10 minutes until they brought out the right one. Waiter was very apologetic and helpful and selection in the store was great so over all good experience.

This morning I tried the multiberry pancakes special. Fantastic! Blueberries inside and strawberries on top, plus raspberry syrup on the side. Two eggs and one meat were included for a fraction more. I also appreciate the fact that I can pick up a 4-pack of Big Red soda on my way out.

If you like down-home all-American food, especially for under $10 per entree, you will like Cracker Barrel. I love the meatloaf, chicken and dumplings, chicken tenderloins, fish, ham, salads - it's all good! There are so many vegetable options, and most meals come with three vegetables. The desserts are very good too. My favorites are the chocolate pecan pie, the Coca Cola chocolate cake, and the salted caramel blondie. Everyone in my family loves Cracker Barrel!

We had breakfast here, and everything was great! I had the blueberry pancakes with bacon, and my husband had the Old Timer's breakfast with chicken fried steak and hashbrowns. The hashbrowns were great! Service was very good. The only small complaint I have is that the small orange juice is REALLY small, almost child-size, and does not include refills.

Was just recently here for my first time ever at a Cracker Barrel. I am so disappointed that I wasn't here sooner because I am in love. I'm obsessed with all things country & southern so my heart was happy as soon as I got there! I LOVE their "wholesome vegetable plate" meal option! I don't eat meat and I stick to a diet full of veggies and fruits, so this is literally perfect for me. You just pick 3 threes from the vegetables & sides menu and you get a low calorie, healthy meal. I had the baby carrots, seasonal fruit & grits .. all so on point. I was so happy with my meal! My boyfriend got breakfast food [[eggs, pancakes, sausage] (he's been there lots of times & always loves it) and couldn't finish because it was so much food. We also had two biscuits and two cornbread muffins. I had half of each and they were delicious! Our waitress was wonderful. I forget her name but it was a later Saturday night and she was very attentive.

I really really don't like giving negative reviews about things to my friends unless something actually stands out. I usually try to give restaurants the benefit of the doubt especially since I've worked in the service industry for years and know what it can be like But my experience with cracker barrel today, which is also my first, was disappointing. I was actually shocked. First, the dish I ordered came with ham, and there was a little piece hidden under the main piece that clearly had a bite mark in it. No big deal, let me just tell someone. But when I tried to wave down a server, she looked at me, making eye contact, then without a word, turns back around and walks away. Wtf? Ok... Then I see the manager and I try to quietly get his attention. "Hold on" he says...and walks away. The restaurant wasn't even busy. What restaurant management team tells their customers to wait when there is a problem? This bitten piece of ham is starting to look disgusting. He eventually comes back but his response to the bitten piece of ham on my dish was less than careless. He said, "no...no one would've taken a bite in the back". Really dude? We can count the number of teeth that made contact with this ham -_- They eventually replaced the ham, but the experience all together made me suspect about everything else on the table. I couldn't even bring myself to eat it. . Bottom line: poor service, even from management Suspect food I honestly may never come back here again.

No stars! The manager Dave with no name tag is a pompous ass. Had my BIL come in from out of town and decided to go there 4 dinner, 5 of us. Food mediocre at best, Kristti our service was good. However as my wife was shopping my BIL and I was hraded outside for a smoke when he chaded me out the door accusing me 4 not paying. Wife was paying and stil inside. This after leaving 30% tip.

Cracker Barrel is the usual breakfast stop for us when traveling. The food quality is consistently good among all the establishments we've been to in this chain. This one is no different. You can go to any one of them and you wouldn't know which one you were in. That's not a bad thing.

The great thing about this place is that you genuinely feel transported to another time, where trans fats were accepted and gravy was something you never denied. Let me start by saying I'm not a big fan of breakfast. I can do without all that fluff on pancakes and syrups and all that. But the first time I came to Cracker Barrel I literally salivated over my friend's pecan pancakes to the point that she finally offered me a bite! My favorite things to order: 1. Pancakes - no it's not your local ihop, it's about a million times better 2. The hashbrown casserole -which is always perfect, don't order it as a side though, get a meal that brings it. 3. Biscuits to smother in the gravy or apple butter 4. Country fried steak 5. Mac and Cheese Yes, you will have to run about 89 miles to burn off the fat in one meal here, but it's totally worth it. Get crazy.

  • Zach V.

Easy on the wallet but heavy on the stomach. I love the breakfast here but I only go once every few months because I would gain 50lbs if i went more often. I usually get one of the combo meals and it usually costs around $8! This includes eggs, biscuits, gravy, hash brown casserole, chicken friend chicken and apple butter. Usually there is a wait so that gives me ample time to peruse the plethora of trinkets that are packed into the gift shop. Every time I walk through the gift shop I feel like I'm at a road side store in the middle of no where.

The store in the front with all the cool old-school candy and treats is pretty neat. The food was just ok. I have eggs in a sour bread basket. Portion sizes are pretty small and really not anything I couldn't have made at home.

Cracker Barrel advertises that they serve breakfast all day. Unfortunately they are not able to maintain the quality of the food all day. I recently had a late breakfast, ordered biscuits and gravy, and was served three biscuits that were in reasonably good shape with a bowl of grey slop resembling wall paper paste. What it lacked in flavor, it made up in consistency. I could stand my spoon up in it without it falling over. The only sausage flavor came from the sausage patties served along side it, and it was also lacking the traditional pepper flavor, save three crumbs on top. For a place that prides itself on serving good country cooking, there is a lack of quality control on something as simple as sausage gravy.

Nothing says cheese more the Cracker Barrel. This chain really can be called the "Godmother of Cheese", and I say that with good humor, and a full belly of love. As I was finally finished with my client road trip through eastern PA, I saw the Cracker Barrel sign off the side of the road. Made a quick u-turn and headed straight for it. Many a summer vacation my parents making a pit stop in these places for some breakfast, snacks, or a bathroom pit stop made for some fond memories. I still get a little excited when I see those rocking chairs lined up along the outside of these places. Walking inside is like seeing an old general store or southern market that is packed to the gills with souveniers and wing dings and bric a bracks of all sorts. Penny candies from long ago, tacky seasonal items and clothes, toys, stuffed animals, games, patriotic items, ceramic and glassware, household items, you name it. Speaking of patriotic, throughout the whole store and restaurant country music with a decidely "USA" theme plays nonstop. Walking into the main dining room are rows of country kitchen seating with oil lanterns on each, all sorts of retro signage and interesting items are covering the walls, and a large fireplace holds ground over the room. I think I have seen this layout in every location I have ever entered. The menu offerings are plentiful for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Mainly country style down home cookin'. Nothing amazing, but comforting and usually tasty options. Funny, but out of all the high caloric choices I chose the special salad for the month. Grilled chicken and strawberry salad, on a bed of fresh greens, chopped pineapple chunks, feta cheese, and country sweet pepper vinagrette. Plate was large and filled up. Good taste and the fruits really worked well with the feta cheese to make a sweet flavor combination. Of course, my fat man side could not just do with this healthier option I picked, so not resisting temptation I dove right into the hot apple dumpling covered with pecan streusel and vanilla bean ice cream. Holy cow, this thing was huge! I really wanted to unbutton my pants at this point, but needed to show a little decorum in public. At this point I am struggling to finish it and need to push it away from me. Sweet goodness indeed. Staff here is very nice and attentive, almost to the point of super sweet molasses. My waitress kept coming by and asking if I needed any more ice tea or more food. The manager also came by to see if all was ok. Everyone kept saying hello and asking if I needed anything else. Coming from NYC this is honey dripping sweetness overload! That is ok though, as sometimes one needs a break from the all the sarcasm, snarkiness, and unfriendliness that is experienced on a daily basis in life. I still look forward to seeing those Cracker Barrel signs along the highways whenever I am driving to certain destinations, and I am sure I will make that quick turn off the next exit to pay a visit again in the future.

Love it!

Get crazy.

Yes, another chain. I happen to like this one though. Cracker Barrel in Neshamnity is pretty good eats. The pancakes are delsih and the hash browns (I really don't like hash browns) are really tatsy. If you're looking for a good, yummy breakfast at a decent price, take a look at CB.

LOL

A guilty pleasure. Nothing here is really that good, but it often hits the spot so right that you have to keep coming back for more. Be sure to eat the biscuits and gravy ASAP for they taste super gross once they cool.

Ask for Chyenne's table. Outstanding, the chicken and dumplings, mac and cheese and the hashbrown casserole are all a MUST. Combine this with great service, she made you feel at home and welcome without being pushy to the point of unwanted. Simply outstanding experience.
