Went there on a Friday night. Since they have changed ownership I had to try it. We sat in the bar area. We wanted a bar seat but they were all full. That's a good thing... at least they are busy. Took a few minutes to get a server. We ordered calamari & Italian wedding soup for appetizers. For dinner I ordered Big Ron's veal scaloppini sandwich and my girlfriend ordered the Penne Torano which was penne pasta with sausage, roasted peppers and crushed red pepper. We got our drinks quick enough, then our salad and soup came and some bread with olive oil and pesto. I ordered ranch dressing for my salad but got blue cheese. No big deal like them both. The soup was very good. So now we are waiting for the calamari and she comes with the dinners. I stopped the waitress from putting them down and said we never got our calamari. She was like 'Oh the kitchen is really screwing me tonight' Do you want them to go? At this point we kind of looked at each other....my girlfriend send no, but she told the waitress she really wanted to try them. At this point I would think she would offer to rush them, take our dinners back and make new ones, or even say how about I give you a small free sample of them to go. Instead we opted for our only other choice presented... to just forget about the calamari. So she set down our dinners. Both were excellent. We had a few more drinks then got our bill. When she set the bill down the waitress said 'I took the calamari off your bill for you' like she just did me a favor. I thought the food prices were reasonable, the food quality excellent, but was a little surprised at the drink prices. Will try it again. Hopefully their servers might get a little better trained in customer service, and they might consider lowering there drink prices. 3 and a half stars if I could put a half. Had we got our calamari and it was as good as the rest of the food.....4 or even maybe 5 stars

Pasta was fine, liked the make your own pasta idea. Nice portions, but something in the meal made my parents not feel so well, maybe it was the salad. I didn't eat the salad, and didn't feel sick, so maybe it was the salad or the dressing. We were too full for dessert, even though there was a nice option of dessert. I wouldn't mind giving this place a second chance, but my parents have already been here once with the family and they don't want to come back.

Not very impressed. Went there on an extremely slow night. We were the only ones there. The waitress was good and the food arrived in a timely manner. However the portions were extremely small and the drinks were over priced. The stuffed chicken special consisted of a half chicken breast stuffed with spinach and asiago. Very good but microscopic for the price. 5 fork sized bites finished the entire meal. The cheese steak filet had a great taste if you can look past the bread verses steak ratio. Honestly there was about 2oz of steak on a 12" long and very thick roll. Don't bother paying the extra dollar for the 10 French fries you get. All in all will not go back. This restaurant would do much better as an American Bar & Restaurant instead of an Italian "bistro." Being from Italian descent, my relatives would be very offended by the dumbed down American and small portioned menu. A better Italian experience at a better value would be Olive Garden about 5 miles down the road, which is saying very little.

Great neighborhood bar but that's where anything great for this place ends. The food is just gross. Straight up. I've given it like 3x trying different things on the menu and all just so disgusting. The meatballs tonight were inedible and so filled with fat it almost made me wanna throw up. Yea I'm done now. Will go for a drink and that's it.

Mike , the bartender, is the reason this is a 4 star review, not 3. He is more than just a friendly and genuine guy, he knows his stuff. I frequent Pronto because of their new craft beer tap list. Pronto is one of a very few to offer great beer in the area. The new menu is a much needed improvement from the previous restaurant... I really enjoy the crustini. My only complaint worth mentioning is the atmosphere. Its not awful, but worth mentioning in hopes of improvement.

I did a review but it got dropped. Bottom line: mediocre, highly overpriced food. Service was good but that is not important if food is subpar.

Went on a Tuesday afternoon to watch a soccer game with two friends. Nice selections of draft beers and quite a few bottles. The bartender recamend a beer from Bells Brewery. A wheat ale. I told him I didn't like wheat beers but he gave me a taste. It was fantastic. Not perfumy like some wheats. I'm so glad he did. By the middle of the first half I got hungry and asked for a bar menu. Lots of items that sounded good but I decided to get an order of fries. Truffle salt and a balsamic reduction were on them. Very tasty. They were hot and not at all greasy like I'd expect two days after a weekend. Barkeep said they change the fryers every other day. Nice. One of the other guys got 10 wings he said were good as well. I'm not a go to bar all the time guy but I enjoyed my time at pronto. Will go again and not plan on making dinner when I get home and try some of the other things on the menu.

Amazing food. $ 5 glasses of wine. I can't even tell you how enjoyable this is. Will be going back soon. Enough food for lunch tomorrow. Love this place. Also they have $7 lunch that includes the drink.

Had dinner for four last night. Arrived about 8 pm. Not crowded. Generous menu but prices a bit steep for dinners. Don't mind that if meal components are superb. This was not our experience. 4 salads were exceptionally wilted and refrigerator burned. Cucumber mushy, carrots dried and very small portion. Crab cake sandwich for $12 appeared to be commercial product with a lot of breading. Veal with pasta contained, at most, 5-6 ounces of veal in greasy pasta sauce and frozen peas for $22. Pasta with pork belly portion appeared to be a large batch cream sauce with a few ingredients tossed in and a portion size you might find comparable to a side dish elsewhere. And the pasta itself? Really? Service was fair but coffee refill never did materialize? $100 plus tip was definitely money better spent elsewhere. We won't be back.

I went to Pronto because of a Groupon deal with my boyfriend. Since then we've been there twice. Both times we went in around 8 pm and the place was nearly empty. The atmosphere is ok. The service was ok the first time and excellent the second time. I wish I remembered the waiters name because he was awesome. The drink menu is not extensive and a bit pricey, but they do offer some decent beers. The reason that we will continue going to Pronto is the delicious food. I chose the shrimp risotto both times because it is amazing and, since the portion is generous, I enjoyed it for lunch the next day as well. I also enjoy the caesar salad which is also a huge portion. I recommend paying the extra for the caesar because the house salad is blah. Both meals that my boyfriend chose were excellent as well. A spicy crab pasta and the veal. The sauces on both were very good and the portions were large for the price. We have not tried the desserts, but the ones that I've seen go by the table look good. I asked about canoli and was pleased to hear that they were unavailable because they serve them freshly filled and it was late. A perfectly acceptable reason to me! If your main criteria is food taste and value, I definitely recommend Pronto.

Our first visit to Pronto. Easy location off a major road. Busy Friday night. Service was attentive and helpful. We had small salad and a Crab and Artichoke with Crostini. Yummy, but a little greasy. We both had entrees. I had a pasta with clams which was very good, lots of garlic. My wife Chicken Picatta. It lots of capers and a light sauce. Will return and something else.

Went in, since it had changed owners. The food was never good, we were going to get dinner and give it a chance since it was under new owners. We ordered drinks and a mozzarella appetizer. The mozzarella was fried in a batter. They were not crispy but mushy, they came with a blush and tomato sauce. The sauces were amazing! The mozzarella was a mushy tasteless mess. We decided not to chance dinner, left and went somewhere else. Food has not seemed to improve. The bartender was intent on flirting with guys at the bar not waiting on the other customers.

The food is always excellent and the staff friendly and willing to make changes to your order if there is something you want omitted or added. I have never had a bad meal or bad service. The wine and beer selections are much more extensive than your average restaurant.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
