Good value at lunch. Filet sandwich was delicious and loved the raspberry iced tea and italian sodas.

The food is Great! The drinks are Deliciously Creative. The views are so pretty. Everything is perfect...except for the service. Such a shame! We give this place try after try. LOVE the food. The bartender is Outstanding - he comes up with tasty concoctions every season. I so wish they could find 2 servers. I really feel for them. It isn't easy running a business in today's economy. I haven't given up on them - I hope they won't give up the search for good servers to bring back busine$$ !!

My husband and I decided to try this restaurant with the voucher offered on Yelp. We were excited because the environment was very cute and seemed well put together. The waitress was very nice as well! However, we were very disappointed with the food. Not very fresh or savory. Seemed overcooked and just blah. So glad that we didn't pay full price for the food. Unless they improve their dishes, it may be difficult for them to win back customers.

Worst burger ever. Meat was burned, tasteless, bread was wet! Would never come back.

Not sure what happened but it took 60 minutes to get our entrée...salmon portion was more suitable for a lunch portion, not a dinner portion at a dinner price! My husband's chicken francais was merely a pounded out piece of chicken smothered in a salty buttery gravy, not much lemon taste at all....smallest glass possible to serve peach sangria and mostly ice...overall very disappointing!

The waitress was very nice but the food was horrible! Very disappointed!! The dinner salad barely had anything to it. Maybe like 10 pieces of lettuce on the plate and that was all. My boyfriend ordered a steak. He wanted it medium and it was practically still alive. I ordered crab cakes and it wasn't too bad but the rice tasted over done and right from a box. The place could definitely use some up to date decor. Very old and had a musty smell to it. Such a gorgeous place with potential.

We've had some really good meals here and a few that were just ok. The service has been hit or miss. We were there recently and were seated upstairs because there was a wedding shower. Our waitress brought us our food and I asked for mustard. After about 5 or 10 minutes, I went downstairs to find her. She was cleaning off some tables. I asked about the mustard and she said she'd be right up. For some reason she wouldn't just hand it to me. I almost sent my burger back because by the time I got the mustard it was barely luke warm. I didn't just because I didn't want the other 3 people I was with to have to wait.

Worst food i had in awhile. The entree was frozen inside. Really? You think you're getting quality food you're wrong. Would rather be eating at home. The wait was very long as well. Place could be alot better. Seems like an ok place. May give it a 2nd chance but will make sure we send food back if we have the samve experience. Skip it - other local places are way better.

How can something so beautiful be so disappointing? Never before have I had such a pitiful meal in such a picturesque setting. My friend found this place while doing research for our one-day trip to the Poconos. The website had looked promising, and the three of us decided that Willowtree Inn was a great spot to stop by for a leisurely Saturday lunch. When we pulled into a gravel parking lot, almost every spot was taken. I figured it had to have been a good sign. As we walked in, we noticed that the place was indeed quite full. Graduation and confirmation lunches were in full swing, our waitress would later explain. No wonder I felt so underdressed in my once navy blue "2003 Leadership Retreat" t-shirt! While we waited, my friend, who went to inquire about a table, was chatting it up with the hostess. I couldn't quite hear the conversation, but it seemed like the hostess was telling her about the specials, which I found weird. Apparently, due to "special occasion" celebrations, Willowtree Inn was only serving dinner. "Sure, why not?" we thought. We asked for a table inside, but then called an audible at the very last second and decided to grab a table on one of the patios. The setting was serene and almost idyllic. The tiny 4-table patio was surrounded by willow trees (hence the name of the restaurant) and overlooked a babbling brook. I immediately felt the aftereffects of the 300-mile drive (complete with a stop at a Wilkes-Barre Kmart) just washing away. Ahhhhh. When our waitress finally showed up, we could tell that she was not having the best day. She wasn't incredibly friendly or talkative at first, but the three of us were able to turn her frown upside down by the end of the meal. Hey, anyone can have a bad day. We've all been there. I wish she had spent more time explaining the menu, though. Deep in thought, she seemed to have forgotten what she was doing at Willowtree Inn. The menu choices were very uninspired, and I had a hard time picking something I really wanted. So, I settled on a steak with potatoes and vegetables. Our waitress didn't bother asking us or even explaining to us what potatoes and vegetables we were getting, but it's OK. Who doesn't like the element of surprise when it comes to food, right? My steak also came with a salad, which, I was told, came with the "house vinaigrette" dressing. I guess I didn't have a choice, but luckily I like vinaigrette. The salad dressing turned out to be a disappointment as well. I am no chef, but is vinaigrette really supposed to be white and frothy? I was confused, and so was my friend who ordered the same salad. My entree was even more disappointing. The steak was chewy and fatty; a low grade cut of supermarket beef. It was NOT medium rare, either. My friend who had the lamb felt exactly the same way. I tried a piece of lamb, and it tasted like something you would get on an airplane. Oh, the vegetable of the day was string beans, my favorite. However, these string beans were overcooked: they lost all their green luster when they were boiled into an unrecognizable, mushy state. Yuck. Also, $26 was way too much to pay for cafeteria quality food. At least by the time our waitress brought us the dessert tray, we were all friends. She was talking to us about life and work. Sadly, it didn't persuade us to get dessert, and we walked away from the table without ordering any. I didn't feel compelled to order any more food here, in spite of the beautiful surroundings. The food really deserves only one star, but I am giving Willowtree Inn two stars out of respect for Mother Nature.

It's difficult to find a good fine dining restaurant in the Poconos. My family and I ate here on Christmas Eve because we heard the food and atmosphere are good. While it is nice to dine by the creek, the food is sub-par and not at all worth the price. Between the four of us, we had the veal parmesan, chicken picatta, chicken caesar salad, and duck cherry jubilee. The sauce on the veal was unremarkable, as was the salad. The duck was not crispy as duck should be, and it had a rubbery texture as if microwaved. The picatta was fine, but it's difficult to mess that one up. Plain jasmine rice and unseasoned green beans added nothing to a basically tasteless meal. Only if doubled in size would our dishes be worth their price, and certainly nothing on the menu (except maybe the beef) should have been more than $15. If you are going to charge $20 for a dish, it should be interesting or prepared with technique. I have no problem paying $25-30 for an excellent entree. None of ours were more than fine, which you can get anywhere (even at some diners). To add insult to injury, the three desserts ($4-7 each) that came with ice cream had only a mellon-ball-size scoop on top. One tiny scoop of ice cream is unacceptable on a brownie sundae or apple crisp. Finally, they would not accept the coupon I printed from their website, even though they were not running a special or offering some other discount. It would have been nice to save $8 on a $124 check. The Willowtree Inn would make a great episode of Kitchen Nightmares.

This place looks really fancy and has a very nice selection of food but the service was definitely sub par during my one time visit. The waitress was overwhelmed and not friendly. The owner or owner's wife was wearing jeans, an old shirt, and crocks! Not ok for a fancy restaurant, I don't care if you own it. I was served hot bruchetta(gross) and tea with no sugar or lemon. Also, in their extensive dessert menu, they did not have one single non-dairy item.

DO NOT GO HERE. Bad service, and to expensive for quality of food. I have been here many times with my family since I was younger and the food is not good! However, the deck is really pretty and is one of the only places in the area were you can eat by the water.

My wife and I didn't have a good dining experience. We waited a approximately 50 minutes for our entrees to arrive. When it did, the fish dish my wife ordered, the filet of sole, looked gray, dried at the edges, reeked of a foul fishy odor. It was horrible! Needless to say she didn't eat it. My salmon dish was a bit better but the sides had absolutely no flavor. We skipped dessert knowing we could do much better on Main Street. Consider yourself warned.

Their policies are as outdated as their menu and beer list. They would not allow us to use a gift certificate along with a coupon. Everywhere else treats gift certificates as same as cash. Slightly below mediocre food and decent service.

Boo. There's really not much else to say. There's literally nothing redeeming about this place. I've tried it about ten times or so over the years and it just never gets any better, save your money and get a frozen dinner at the grocery store, it's about the same.

Not sure why all the bad reviews. Been here about 4 times. Yes service is on average a little slower than a diner, but it's a restaurant not Burger King. I"ve had crab cake dinner, steak sandwich, bruchetta, squid pasta, soup. The Italian sodas are good, so is the crostada dessert. While yes, the side salad is small, the house dressing is delicious (i bought some separately in a bottle).
