Nobody reviewed this place for a while so here's my two cents. I like this place. I walked in around 8 and the only person there was the owner who is from the NYC area. I got 3 specialty slices and an order of garlic knots for take out ($10 minimum for credit cards). He gave me a box (contrary to another review). Biting into the first slice of chicken bacon pizza, I fell in love. A crispy and satisfying crust with the perfect amount of cheese and good flavor. The garlic knots were meh. I'd certainly go back.

in my 24 years of existence, this is honestly the very first time I have ever been denied a free cup of tap water at a food establishment. It gets one star based on that alone.

I've had pizza from Goombas twice in the past. Both times were ok but nothing special... tonight I decided to give them another try. We had garlic knots and 1 large plain pizza. The garlic knots were very thick and tasted like the dough had not been let rise. Aside from that they would have probably been tasty. The sauce was good. The pizza was horrible. It tasted ever-so-slightly fermented. I can deal with "blah" food, but my biggest problem with Goombas is the service & uncomfortable setting. Specifically, these items... 1) It smelled like a pool hall. 2) I watched the guy behind the counter make our pizza. After operating the cash register, he did not wash his hands before proceeding to cook. 3) This building appears to have no air conditioning - just 2 large fans blowing everything everywhere. 4) When I asked for a box to take our remaining food home, the server asked "how 'bout a bag?" instead, even though they had plenty of boxes clearly displayed. I really didn't want to take it but felt guilty wasting! So we left with a bag full of pizza.... which went into the nearest trash can after we left.

Decent pizza terrible customer service While waiting I wanted a cup of water and obviously they had it but made me buy a bottle of water for $2.50. Then to top if off my friend Jason ate my second slice.

Pretty bad. I can't believe that, with less than 48 hours in Strousdburg, our group managed to land in more than one pizza joint. Palumbo's up the street won this battle, but only by a hair -- and I'd rather stick with Goomba's for location and ambiance (which, once you see Goomba's should tell you how Palumbo's fares in that department).

This is by far the best pizza anywhere near the Stroudsburg Area. You must try the Buffalo and BBQ Chicken Pizza.

I don't usually do Yelp but this place really came through. A dirty dozen new yorkers came to this town in order to run a 50K race and this was our post-race spot. the owners hooked us up with the entire front area and made a banquet table for 15, he brought on the pies and the knots, and food was legit. dude is from staten island, and he is bring real flavor to this town; ya'll lucky to have him. big thumbs up.
