This place is a true gem. The atmosphere is very relaxing and folky. The coffee/drinks are great. The bakery items are incredible. All sandwiches, etc. are made to order, which requires a little more time in preparation, but is well worth the wait. They are known for their cookie presses. They bake fresh cookies with them each day. Also, on their wall, they have a display of presses you can purchase for your own cookie-baking pleasure. It's such an awesome, locally-owned business. The owners seem to be such terrific people. If you're in the area, you've got to check out this place :)

This place is great, but they have closed. You can still find them online. If you want Springerle cookies at Christmas, make sure you order before the deadline. They are crazy busy!! springerlehouse.com

CLOSED & GONE: Came to check it out since I come from a family with both grandfathers being German bakers and springerle were big in our home at Christmas. Was disappointed that they are no longer there. You can order I believe on line? One star because I had to.

Drove 2 hours and explained that I was a 10 year customer and missed the order deadline there were trays and trays of cookies and I was lectured about the deadlines they didn't care and I wasted an entire day for nothing I will never order or give them my business again

While visiting Strasburg on vacation we had a chance to stop at this Great little sandwich and coffee shop on Main Street. The staff was warm and inviting and eager to help with any questions our party had. The soup du jour was a delicious zucchini sausage stew with fresh veggies which was nicely seasoned. I got the chipotle Turkey sandwich and house made Blueberry Italian soda. The sandwich was well balanced and served on a buttery flakey croissant. The soda was delicious and refreshing, and not overly syrupy. Everyone else in our party raved about their meals. We all split a piece of key lime pie which was amazing and we also took home an assorted box of homemade cookies. Definitely looking forward to stopping by this place again, and trying their fresh food.

I sent two boxes of their pretty Christmas cookies to two different households as Christmas presents. The recipients were thrilled and kept saying how lovely the cookies are and how good they taste. When I was in the area, visiting from Texas, we went to the Springerle House and lemon or orange Springerle cookies were available for purchase. I was told all of the cookies were going to their mail order business. I was very disappointed and frustrated. Make sure you call ahead to avoid being as disappointed as me.

This place has a modern twist on tradition. It is as comforting as relaxing. The manager loves her job and helps bring you into her world and the traditions that are associated with the manufacturing of their Springerle brand. Quick and must stop if you're in the neighborhood!!

Traveling through the area from Virginia stooped because of ratings and reviews from Yelp! Definitely lived up to writeups. Delicious little spot to catch a homemade sandwich! The chicken salad was flavored with apples, c raisins and pecans on the bread you want! The egg salad had a nice olive taste throughout. We got dessert to go and can't wait to try one of the mouthwatering homemade cupcakes and fresh strawberry pie (strawberries in season when we stopped. Limited seating ..... we had a crowd of 8 but they were able to accommodate. Staff very pleasant .... an enjoyable lunch

Stoped by for a quick breakfast. May be because it was Wednesday morning but we were disappointed. Very little selection of baked goods. Nothing more exciting than breakfast sandwich. A unique hot tea drink was interesting but from the reviews on here really had a higher expectation. May be they were just having an off morning.

Love this place! Why? It's one of only a very few cafes/bakeries where everything, I mean everything, is made from scratch. And you can tell. They do a soup weekly, and in the summer, it usually includes ingredients grown in the owner's garden! And, the owner has preserved one of the locales' traditions that was dying--Springerle cookies. Hats off to you, Springerle House! Keep up the good work.

Very cute little coffee shop with delicious, beautiful springerle cookies and yummy coffee. Also has an excellent tea selection and really nice staff - the owner was happy to tell us history about the cookies and the Lancaster area. She said the springerle cookie recipe has been in the family for generations, and you can tell by the quality! The wooden molds used to make the cookies are for sale, as are hand-painted ornaments made out of the molds. Both of these would make great Christmas gifts. Has free wifi, some seating indoor and out, and clean restroom. Highly recommended!

Awesome cookie and tea shop! Really great food, and very friendly staff! I'd recommend trying some of their tea (I personally love the rooibos) with one of their springerle cookies! Or a panini when they serve them! Anything is really good there.

Yes Yes Yes! This place is a hidden GEM! I don't live in the Lancaster area, but I come here for business 2-3 times per year. Even though my meetings are way across town I never miss Springerle House when I come in! They specialize in Springerle Cookies, which are a German pressed cookie. Originally they tasted like anise (black licorice) but now they have lots of flavors for people who don't like that one. The cookies are good, but what I really like is there homegrown Caresse bruschetta. MMM. They serve these amazing organic homegrown tomatoes and they add mozzarella, garlic and basil (traditional Caresse) on top of this delicious french bread with olive oil. Delish! THE GOOD: *Breakfast and Lunch with super-fresh, organic and free-range ingredients *Prices are very reasonable *Staff is SUPER NICE and very knowledgeable *Loose leaf teas *Open super-early for those of us who need to get to work, but still want a cup of coffee and a bfast sammy first. *Lots of street parking THE BAD: *Seating is pretty limited *Website doesn't have their menu *Only open for Breakfast-Lunch (No food orders after 3 or 4?) Definitely a must-try if you're in the Lancaster area!
