Never have I ever had better Stromboli than at Messina's. Of course, I could be biased because it's what I grew up on- but this place is awesome. If you go for the decor- don't plan on being too impressed, but for me- it's all about the food.

The beer and wine list is quite impressive for a local family pizza joint, I've hear a lot of good things about the Stromboli but it's just not my thing, the pizza pies and slices here are a little too thick and doughy for me, I didn't enjoy them either time I've dined there. Service was nice and attentive but they could make up for the food.

Pizza is tasty(I like sloppy and greasy)but it is burnt more times than not. Daughter couldn't even finish a piece. Ate the cheese and said she was full. When cooked right it is a minimum of three pieces. Some parental supervision would help since it is usually a bunch of kids working.

I just moved to Stewartstown Pennsylvania less than six months ago I went into Mussina's to grab lunch with two of my friends. on the TV they were blaring a TV show called KKK beneath the hood it was incredibly offensive I would never go there again ever our food was served on coffee filters, yes I said coffee filters. I did not leave a tip and I am an avid tipper. This kind of hate is something out of the 60's and they probably didn't think anything of it because we were three white guys, but racism is a big deal and I will NEVER go there again. Sad thing is this. The food was good.

Pizza is always dripping with grease, ingredients are old, shop is run by high school kids who obviously don't care about customer service. Not worth it

It is very very unfortunate that I had a poor experience here. We stopped in for lunch and ordered a couple subs to eat inside. One of the subs we ordered was NO ONIONS after about a 30 min. wait we get the sub and fries full of onions. After about ten mins. trying to catch the only waitress she took the platter and said "they do this all the time. I put no onions". after about 10-15 mins here comes the sub. Now I am finished eating my lunch. And whoa were is the fries? Yep she forgot to make the fries. We were already running late so she boxed up the sub. I walked up to the cashier and she added the fries to my bill. Well I was fuming by now. I told the cashier I wasnt going to pay for fries I did not get and the waitress yells that I had to because they already started cooking them. I told the cashier I would not pay for them and should not pay for the sub that was not served in a timly matter. They reluctantly removed that portion of the bill. With several big chain store near by we try to use the smaller mom and pop shops. I havent decided if we will go back but it will be a while if ever.

Just moved to the Stewartstown area and tried Messina's. Best stromboli and marinara we've had in a long time. Other subs and entrees are delicious, too. Great service and friendly staff. Been back a few times and had consistently good experiences. Highly recommend.

Pasta dishes are best we've had in the area. Reasonable prices, professional service by friendly family and staff. Pizza, subs, stromboli's all better tha average.

While not gourmet dining by any stretch, not bad at all and a step above many pizza joints. They have an ok selection of house wines and the dishes on the menu didn't disappoint. Particularly for the area, a pretty good place.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
