I've lived all over and have dined all over. For the past year, I have been living in Glen Rock, PA for work-related reasons and will admit, it is not the hotbed of Foodie Nation. A friend of mine has taken me here twice and I have enjoyed it each time. It really is a hidden gem in this little area. The service is wonderful as they welcome you as a part of the family. I am a vegetarian whose favorite food is not Italian, but I've enjoyed everything I have eaten here. The speciality pizza with artichoke and capers is so good and the eggplant stromboli is excellent. Their spinach pie was one of the best ones I have ever had. They use very fresh ingredients, which makes a huge difference. I would prefer they were organic, but hopefully that can be added to the menu soon. But a lovely little place that I can definitely recommend.

Nikolas cafe is a hidden gem. It's a charming italian cafe thats big on portions and flavor. It is a small restaurant but it has an intimate feel and very friendly staff. My family and I have ate there many times and have never been unhappy. You can't go wrong when ordering one of their specials. Ive never had the same thing twice and am always pleasantly surprised. P.s. save room for one of their delicious homemade desserts, you wont want to pass them up!

Bottom Line Up Front: Don't miss out on this local authentic Italian restaurant. Any of the brick oven pizzas are sure to keep you coming back for more. My experiences are based on take out but I plan to dine-in in the near future. I've ordered mostly the brick oven pizzas and have had the Italian Cold Cut sub. Brick Oven Pizzas are why I keep coming back. I've had the Smoked Salmon (my favorite), Rustic Hawaiian, Capricioso, and Quattro Sagioni pizza. Each time I've had their pizza it has been spot on as far as appeal, freshness, and taste. The food has always been ready at the time of pick up and staff are courteous and professional. The menu has plenty to offer and is unique enough to standout from the other Italian restaurants in the area. Can't wait to go back!

My wife and I have eaten here twice now and we love the cozy feel of the establishment. It is kind of small so it can get crowded quickly. They have a good size menu with daily specials for lunch and dinner. I have had the shrimp salad sub which has been awesome every time I've gotten it. It isn't too heavy with mayonnaise like some places I've had it and it is perfectly spiced unlike some places where can be dry or overly wet with out flavor. We have had the shrimp pizza which is also excellent. The crust was cooked just right which gave it that crisp when biting into it but it was not overly cooked nor under cooked where it would seem doughy. The hamburger sub is great too. If you are in the area and want to try a nice little place, I'd recommend this place. You might see me in there if you do. Thanks for reading my review. Remember this is just my opinion.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
