Living nearby we've been here many times now. Certainly a unique addition to our area. It's usually empty on an average weeknight so it's been a perfect place for a quiet dinner out. There's rarely more than two couples sitting around a grill (I've never visited on a weekend). Probably like most Japanese hibachi restaurants, it's quite a novelty the first couple of times but after that, unless the chef misses your mouth when he throws the shrimp at you, you know the plot by heart. They're consistently good from the onion volcano all the way to the little orange slice dessert with your check but the BYOB deal is always an irritating little chore - not their fault of course (damn dry county). There's definitely a language barrier- we ask the servers and hosts to repeat themselves a lot - maybe a sign of authenticity? But the service is very good and the whole place is clean and well kept. Occasionally there has been a sightly less skilled chef at the grill. Usually not an issue but of course here, he is also the evening's entertainment. The servings are always huge - especially the fried rice which is excellent. Once or twice we've sat at the bar for sushi which is also quite good especially on a special coupon night. Vouchers used to appear much more frequently for these in the mail. I'd like to sound a bit more enthusiastic about them, but for me to experience is so standardized that starts to give you that "been there- done that" feeling. At a typical restaurant, there's more variety on the menu and the focus is more on the company you're with. Here, you focus is more on the "show" (basically a rerun) and one of a few standardized entrees. It's a rerun, but a good one. I really like Giza for gift certificates- both as giver and receiver. It feels like you're giving/getting a little more than just a meal. I recommend tying a ribbon around a couple new chop sticks and wrapping that around the envelope containing the gift certificate. Makes a great impression.

Unbelievable sushi. We went for the Wednesday buffet, and the rolls were of a wide variety, superior quality and huge size. You are only allowed to order three rolls at once and you must pay for any food you don't finish, but the tastiness of the sushi let's you power through any remaining pieces. The only reason I give Ginza four stars is because out server was pretty lax. I had to flag her down a few times because we were in a corner and the restaurant was almost empty (we were there at 3:30) but I think if you come during typical dinner hours the service would probably be more attentive.

Dangerously bad food but strangely polite service. My wife and I went here for sushi. The salmon roe eggs were hard and chewy, like they sat out for a few days, the spicy tuna rolls had something crunchy in them which even the wait staff was puzzled about, ??? and the avacado was old and disgusting, the seaweed salad and the raw salmon were both on the dry side....needless to say, sushi MUST be extremely fresh which this was not. Unusual to have so many bad things served. The waitress agreed that these items were unacceptable and took them away and off the bill. Sushi is an extremely risky food unless extreme caution is used in prep. This place is way too risky. Never had this problem in the past, maybe a new owner or new sushi person. Highly recommend that you don't eat there.

Do NOT get sushi here. We went shortly after they opened and were badly disappointed. The Miso soup tasted like it was from a can, and the sushi like it was from a supermarket. If you want Sushi do yourself a favor and walk a few storefronts down to Emerald Garden, which sports a sushi bar and a full-time sushi chef. Note: I realize that rating a Japanese steakhouse on their sushi is a little unfair, but that's all I've eaten there, and it left a bad enough impression that we haven't been back. If and when we return to try out their steak offering I'll update my review accordingly.

Good food and excellent service. The ambiance in the restaurant would only be enhanced if the chefs all spoke English. The sushi could be better, but it is still very tasty; excellent for your occasional sushi eater and for the surrounding area.

BYOB! I've had good experiences here so far. I highly recommend the good time roll for novice sushi eaters. The special eel roll is excellent. I tend not to get any sushi that's not on the specials menu, so I don't know anything about those. I've had hibachi here twice (once with steak and another with lobster). I thought the food was very good and worth the price. The portion size was pretty good too.

I love Japanese hibachi, so for me to give such a low rating you know something is wrong. The food, although made in front of you, doesn't taste fresh and is often overcooked. For the cost, we should be getting much higher quality. To make matters worse, the last time I went I got takeout only to come home and find a bug in my soup. I won't be back. I would rather drive a little further for better and cleaner quality.

Great lunch value for hibachi fair. The dinner prices are high for what you get, but the lunch is a great deal for what you get. The kids will love the show and the food. Maybe not the grilled veggies, but the fried rice and meet. They are also happy to add more noodles to the soup and the kids appreciate that too.

Great food here! I come all the time! The prices are good versus portion size and quality in comparison to other hibachi places. Staff are very friendly and helpful! I recommend the sushi! It's awesome! I suggest making reservations ahead of time for groups larger than 6 so the staff is prepared because it hasn't been that busy lately so they don't send as many people certain days. Only complaint is they no longer have gluten free soy sauce( which isn't a big deal) so next time I'll bring mine!

Love the food, the only complaint I would have is that they are a bit pricey (especially if you live down the street and order all the time for a large amount of people) also when you go there they did a great job with the ambience, however when you have Taylor Swift, etc. playing in the background it kindof takes away from it. They have an all you can eat Sushi special on Sun. and Wed. Evenings for 17.95 you start with 3 rolls finish them keep ordering. My husband was stationed in Japan and this is the closest place we've found that tastes authentic.

The sushi is delicious, they really get the rice right at this place. The ice tea I had tasted a little old, but that would be my only complaint.

My fiancé & I were excited to find out there was a Ginza in PA as there was one in CT where we were previously stationed. Unfortunately this location did not live up to its name. The sushi menu left much to the imagination & even when I went with what I knew to be safe, I was very disappointed. Hibachi was okay, not the worst but far from the best. Steak was overcooked & the chef played my meal on my fiancés plate so we had to wait until he was done to switch. Definitely not worth the price. Only reason it gets a one star is because the servers were very nice.

I have gone here several times since it opened. Okay in the beginning... Not so now. Wife and I went in for dinner late on a Saturday. Around 7p. No one else at the hibachi tables. Service was prompt and as always, very courteous. Soup was salty and nasty. Salad was drowned in dressing. Almost floating in it. Cook was nice but did not understand the concept of "go easy on the salt". Everything he cooked was over salted. Portions were a lot smaller than they used to be. I ordered filet and shrimp and I have never seen such small filets. I think the time has come to say farewell to Ginza. Not going to waste my hard earned money on their over priced and over salted stuff. I think I cook much better than they do.

This place is very cute inside. The sushi isn't the freshest but they have lunch specials on Saturdays. Eel avocado unfortunately is not on their lunch menu. The spoon I got with my miso soup had a strange black sticky substance on it and my water glass wasn't very clean either. The water was definitely out of a tap. I probably wouldn't go back if there were other options in shrewsbury.

This place was horribly bad. From the copious amounts of salt which was put on everything, to the soap flavored steamed rice. Oh and don't forget the undercooked scallops that are now making me sick. Stay very far away from this place if you value your general well being.

They failed their health inspection due to roaches, rodents, and large amount of drain flies.

I have never had a problem with the sushi here. Their spicy mayo is a bit...fruity? Which is okay sometimes. I dislike the miso soup here though, it's gross to me. The staff is very friendly.

Friends and I went for the Sunday evening sushi special. $17.95 and you start with 3 rolls from a decent selection with the option to order more after you eat the three. Took forever to get our sushi which made no sense because the place was empty. Friend's 3 year old wanted buttered noodles and they were accommodating though they served her 5 noodles at a time and we had to keep asking for more. The sushi was good. I stuck with simple rolls since it was my first time at Ginza for sushi. Tuna, salmon, yellowtail. Can't complain. Friends were more adventurous and said it was better the previous time they went for sushi (a few weeks ago). So they were a bit disappointed. I visited here a few years back for the hibachi show and was not disappointed. Bottom line: only place like this in the area, worth taken family to for the hibachi experience, and will satisfy a simple sushi craving. (I do wish there were more sushi options around New Freedom. )

Consistently good quality and friendly staff. Hibachi is good, but the sushi is my goto here with a good selection and staff willing to make up new rolls on the spot!
