Great place for some pizza or a cheesesteak. Huge pasta platters too. Great atmosphere, friendly servers, and some great reasonably priced food. Hard to believe the place used to be a post office...

The pizza sauce is a little on the sweet side, but otherwise the pizza is pretty good and the staff is always friendly.

Okay...I'm kinda tired of the pizza, hoagie, cheese steak thing but I can't help it..this place just makes me happy. As a family we have never had a bad meal and prices are reasonable. The food is good and I almost always get one of their pasta dishs (seafood lasagna, prosciutto and peas, etc) or their veggie grinder. Even though I am tired of pizza and hoagies, when i do get them they a very good. The only bad thing I got to say (and it apparently is said often and by many) is that someone messed up when they installed the booths seats. They are way toooo low so I feel like a 5 yr old sitting there (we try to ask for a table)... It's annoying and I think that they could fix them without too much $$$ or effort This is our family's default place!

Yelpers - you sure nailed this one correctly! Went here on a Friday night after scouring the web for a good place to get some pizza, and landed at Giovanni's. For an appetizer, had the boneless chicken wings, with a generous side of blue cheese dressing. My mouth is watering just thinking about them. Then the ginormous pizza came - half pepperoni, half mushroom. Delicious! The crust was soft, and the pizza was just...so good! For dessert, my friend had a regular-size butter pecan ice cream cone which was HUGE! I got a taste of it, and it was so good, too. They come with a plastic holder so you don't drip it on yourself. Sweet! The waitress was so nice and attentive, which was a definite bonus. I think I know where to grab pizza in the future!

Great food. Clean and attractive environment. It's obvious the owners care about putting out a quality product and are not just phoning it in like some other local Italian joints. I recommend the pork and broccoli rabe sandwich; though my wife's Sicilian looked awesome too. Good place for a quick bite or a pie to go.

Had lunch the other day. We had pizza and it is a good pizza. The crust was a little to soft for me from the juices of the pizza. I am a fan of pizza and it is one of my favorite foods, so I was happy with the food, but not ecstatic about it. I am sure they use canned mushrooms because of the moisture of fresh ones when they bake, but that would of made the pizza even better. You do get some fresh bread in a garlic and olive oil covering which were really enjoyable, just make sure that you are not talking in a meeting after wards the garlic is strong but I really like that. Overall, I was satisfied with this place, but with the expectations of the place it fell a little short for me. The pizza sauce and cheeses that they use are very good. They use a great sausage and sweet peppers that really bring this place up for me, but the overall NY style pizza fell short on the crust and the canned mushrooms. One of the coolest things of this place is that it is in an old post office building, and that really makes the atmosphere unique and fun.

I've only been here twice so far, but both experiences were very good. I'm a big fan of seafood pastas and this place gives you tons of seafood in your pastas. The only knock against dining here is that the tables seem really high.

Their buffalo chicken pizza is the best I've ever had.

  • Marc S.

It's not Italy but their chicken Parmesan is excellent! The prices are expensive more in tuned with fine dining considering your getting pre made salads and dressings in tubes. The pizza and meals now that the obnoxious redhead Giovanni is no longer there is worth your time if you are in the mood for Italian! I will make one warning .... There fresh garlic knots served piping hot with a side of hot marinara are as addicting as potato chips ! You can't only eat one

Very good pizza and food Service was fast and friendly That atmosphere is very nice , was a old bank Will go back again and try other food

Good hoagies, salads and strombolis, and generous portions. The first time I was here the background music was straight out of Olive Garden and created a nice, almost upscale ambience. Now it's usually overly loud 80s rock, which is fine, but creates a totally different atmosphere that's not nearly as suitable or sophisticated.

My boyfriend and I were the only customers in the restaurant. We waited over 20 minutes to place our order, even though we knew what we wanted after about 2 minutes. When our waitress finally came over to our table again, she said, "oh my god, I completely forgot about you guys." What waitress says that to paying customers?? Other than the waitress, we did have a nice lunch. The veggie grinder was great!

Absolutely love this place for its food. The best buffalo chicken pizza in town and probably that I've ever had. This beats out my former favorite DeNunzio's and Amores. The pizza is crispy enough to hold the rich combination of cheeses which is drizzled in Buffalo sauce and sprinkled with generous helpings of chicken. The pizza maybe a little too rich for some but I absolutely love it. The cheese steak I had their was slightly above average and the service was quick enough. I love the fact that it's in an old post office. The old italian man is actually who I hope to see when I walk in to order a pizza. I like the local pizzeria feel. The only thing that may need improvement is service if you dine in. Other than that, the pizza is ungodly good for a small suburb like royersford

I had to leave another review because I just got their homemade fresh fried mozzarella. It is AMAZING! You should definitely try it!!!

My wife and I order pizza from here basically any time we decide to get a pizza. Their service is fast and great, and their prices aren't bad at all.

Great food, awesome gluten free stuffed shells, and gluten free pizza! My boyfriend got the calzone and it was HUGE and he loved every bite of it!! The only reason I did not give this place five stars is because the staff wasn't very good. We had to wait close to ten minutes just to order our drinks after we sat down. Both waitresses were on their phones when we walked in and didn't really even acknowledge us. Other than that, I highly recommend and would choose to do takeout next time!

Usually get take-out, but table service is good too. My favorites are eggplant parmesan sandwiches and buffalo chicken pizza. It's a little pricey (over $20 for a large) but is absolutely delicious. We recently ordered their Family Special (advertised on their website) and got 2 cheesesteaks, 6 garlic knots, a large cheese pizza, 10 boneless wings, and 2 liter of soda for $30. It was a TON of food and fed 4 adults with leftovers. I would much rather support a local business than a chain, so the extra cost compared to Domino's or Papa John's is worth it to me.

BTW, I emailed the restaurant via the contact link to let them know about my last visit and nobody bothered responding. That speaks volumes about how much they value their customers. I guess if you're a monopoly you can do that and stay in business.

I'm kind of sorry I went here, because now I'm going to keep coming back and I can only imagine how much weight I will gain as a result! My wife isn't one to try new places, but I was in the mood for some place new and after all the great Yelp reviews, we decided to give this place a try. Oh my! I'm so glad we came here. The food was simply amazing from the garlic knots they give you when you sit down all the way to the home made cannoli we had for dessert! For out entrees, I went with the Chicken Alfredo based on another Yelper's review and I would have to concur that it was the best Chicken Alfredo I've had. It was loaded with strips of chicken, that actually had flavor in and of itself. The pasta was coated in a heavy Alfredo sauce and the portion size could have fed our table of four. Thankfully they have to go containers right there in the dining area for you to pick up. My wife and the four cheese ravioli special and both of our entrees came with a side salad which was also good. While the ravioli was good, my wife liked my meal better. Oh yea, our meals also came with baked garlic bread. While neither of us really needed dessert, we decided to split the homemade cannoli and it was probably the best cannoli we've had. Our kids went with the one slice of cheese pizza and fries. Both the fries and pizza were really good and one of these days, I'll probably order their pizza but there are plenty of other Italian dishes on their menu that I would like to try. Evidently this place used to be an old post office. It's nicely decorated on the inside and you can see into the kitchen. The place can get a little noisy, but that's fine with us as that takes the attention off of our kids! The parking lot is a bit small and tight, so street parking might be easier. The food takes a little while to come out, but it's at least worth the wait. Service was a tad slow, but overall not bad and our waitress was certainly friendly and helpful with our questions. We can't wait to go back, but meanwhile I have enough leftovers for several more meals!

Decided to finally try Giovanni's tonight based on a few recommendations. Ate in on a Friday night. Food was decent, but only ordered pasta dishes. However, slightly bland tasting to some degree and you can tell they probably don't salt the water they cook the pasta in. The pizza looked good and will likely try that sometime as take out. The service was underwhelming. I was annoyed that I had to ask for garlic knots even though they are included with the entree. Large portions and reasonable prices overall though. Might update review based on another visit or trying the pizza.

Best pizza around, hands down. My family and I have been loyal customers of Giovanni's ever since moving out of Phoenixville, away from our old pizza place, and it is a very welcome change. Pizza is always hot and fresh and they have the perfect sauce to cheese to crust ratio. Their toppings are always fresh and delicious, and their sauce is unique as well, with great spice and subtle sweetness. Crust is always done to perfection. If you haven't tried it, I highly recommend it. The rest of the food on the menu is just as good, guaranteed.

This was our first visit to Giovanni's and we were pleased. Our end of season soccer party was a blast and the pizza was tasty. We'll return to try some of the other menu items, the pasta looked very tasty!

I like these guys! My choices have always worked out fine. My Italian wife is not impressed.... says it's all about the sauces, and her opinion on theirs: "ehh"

Great food, nice people, the old Royersford Post Office. Check out the old Postmaster Office and Safe.

BEST. CHICKEN. ALFREDO. EVER. It was so thick and creamy, it was true Italian! I ordered it with pierogies as an appetizer and it was all fantastic. I think they use heavy cream with the chicken alfredo and that, to me, made it. I feel like I just gained 5 pounds, and every bite was worth it.

We decided to check out Giovanni's on the advice of fellow yelpers. I am so glad we did. The owners obviously take a lot of pride in their business. I ordered the white pizza with spinach and tomato. The crust was crispy and delicious and the toppings were plentiful. Loved it. My son had the gnocchi with vodka creme sauce. He loved it. I though the sauce tasted a little Chef-boy-ar-dee ish (is that a word?), but the pasta was nicely cooked and the texture was perfect. Hubs had a salmon burger that he really enjoyed and the little one loved her slice. Service is very friendly. Prices are reasonable and portions are HUGE!!! Can't wait to go back.

Giovanni's has been one of my favorite places in the area for pizza or a quick, unrushed, really tasty casual dinner. BUT....last time we went, they won me over for good. My gluten-free friend and I went because I was craving pizza, and I tried their gluten free version. Pretty darn good for not the "real" thing! It even comes with its own plastic cutter to avoid cross-contamination. My friend was concerned about the salad dressing being safe, since she is severely celiac, and the waitress actually brought the container out for her to check out. She was super helpful and really, really friendly. Some places, we've gotten an attitude from all of her questions, but if food makes you that sick, you ASK. This girl was terrific and even asked my friend for clarification so she knew what to ask the cook. AND.....the piece de resistance....GLUTEN FREE STUFFED SHELLS! Say what? They were really good, too--and the waitress gave us a tip about asking what pastas were in stock whenever we come, because sometimes they even make gluten free lasagna. I think one of the owner's family members eats gluten free so they are really really a great resource if you do too. I was hooked on them before but this tipped them over to a 5-star rating. Get some!! (Their regular pizza and pasta dishes have always been awesome too)

The food was awesome and you get tons for what you pay for. The service was a little o_0. Granted it was late on a Sunday night, they weren't crazy put they put us into the one corner away from everyone because the rest of the empty tables in that section were not cleared yet. Waitress then came over for drink orders and asked if we needed more time to look at the menus.....what menus? We seated ourselves. My three friends had personal pizzas...HUGE! They didn't finish them, the only odd thing was they came out uncut. Waitress noticed and was confused and took them back to be cut. Strange. We had to ask for plates for the pizza people, I guess other ppl just eat off the trays? I dunno. I got a pasta special that was amazing! The food was really good the service was a just a bit off.

Hands down, the best pizza in the area. Great sauce, cheese is just perfect, and the crust is delicious. If you eat in, you can't help but appreciate the decor, which they obviously took great efforts to make just perfect. We've had sandwiches and meals there as well -- always delicious. But, no other pizza place in the area holds a candle to Giovanni's.

Just a legit pizza / hoagie place with a real neat atmosphere inside an old post office.

The only reason this place doesn't get 5 stars is the ordeal we have to go through every time we pick up from this place (have never eaten in so I can't comment about the dining in service). At the dinnertime rush there is always a crowd waiting to pick up food which was called in (a testament to how good it is), but there is no rhyme or reason to who gets helped at the counter first. The wait time before someone can help you can top 5-10 minutes on weekends, so it's not like this is a trivial issue. The most intrusive people get rung up first, instead of short people like me who hang back to avoid getting in the servers' way. Perhaps a deli-like number system or a line queue would help? Also, sandwiches and wings and the like are kept separately from pizzas, so I've had to remind them on multiple occasions that I had more food than just pizza. That being said, everything we've had here is very good! Improve customer service a bit, and you got 5 stars from me.

LOVE LOVE Giovannis! I get cravings for their pizza esp the sauce. Been eating there since it opened. We mostly take out but when we eat there we get the chicken parm - awesome but the platter is HUGE - enough to share. The pizza reminds me in taste to MacknManco -- Have to be a little patient with the teen servers....

I ordered two of their personal pan pizzas. They were probably some of the best pizzas I've ever had. This is now my go to place for pizza. The environment is authentic Italian at the restaurant.

Good Pizza, great chicken parm (sandwich and entree) and great pasta. It's not fancy by any stretch, but they do what they do well, and quickly. Never ate in the restaurant, but it seems nice and cozy and it always smells divine when you walk in.

  • Keith D.

We ordered 2 pizzas and went to pick up and they were not ready as the reason was they scewed up, and the worst of it all was that the owner would not admit to their mistake. You would think they would have made things right by giving us a discount or a free pizza pie - but no the only thing we got was attitude and lip - come on how hard is it to admit to a mistake. Forget this place and there are better Pizza places like Doc's Bistro Pizza & Pasta.

My favorite place for pizza. Varied menu and it's all good. It's got a casual family atmosphere but it's clean and the staff are happy.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
