Found this hidden gem in Glenside. The store front is small however the food taste is big. I had the crusty rusty and it was superb. Also you can get a 3 way medley combo (fries, curly fries, and tots) as one side. The burgers here are cheap and made at a gourmet level. The meat was cooked perfectly. The buns toasted to perfection. The only down side is that I didn't find about this place sooner. They also have breakfast burritos.

If you are looking for a great burger here's your place. Everything made fresh. Interesting menu items that add some kick to your average burger. They have soda not made with high fructose corn syrup. This place is a hidden gem if you're looking for something different. It's not big inside so plan on take out or eating outside. One of my new favorite places.

My husband and I were in the mood for burgers the other day and decided to try the Rusty Shack for some take out. I'm so glad we did. The burgers were made fresh to order and all the toppings were cut fresh too. This place is no-frills but you can't beat the prices. Plus they have curly fries and tater tots. We will definitely be back.

I went to the Rusty Shack the first day it opened. The owner and his son greeted my mother and I and explained the menu to us. We ordered three burgers. I got the Cali burger with fries, tots, and curly fries! The son explained that the salsa was freshly made and spicy. I told him I liked spicy so he gave me a sample to make sure I liked it before putting it on my order. Everything was delicious, the place was welcoming and clean, the prices are great...definitely going back!

I went here with my boyfriend last month. We were not disappointed. He got a regular burger- and loved it. I got a veggie burger. I was impressed that they had two kinds. I don't enjoy beans, so I was very happy they had a black bean patty & a vegetable patty. The tots were perfectly crispy & not too greasy. They serve their coke in retro, glass bottles- which was a nice touch as well. If I ever want a really good burger & fries, I know exactly where to get one.

As many people have written the Rusty Shack is exactly that a "Shack." Its located right along the street on the corner of Easton Road / Tyson Ave. When I stopped in for lunch it was overcast and a bit gloomy so there wasn't a line. After a quick look at the menu I ordered the Crusty Rusty and a combo of regular fries, tater tots and spicy curly fries. I asked for my burger to be cooked medium and the man working the grill said "I'll try to cook it medium." I'm didn't think that was a difficult request. He seemed to be in a very bad mood but we all have our bad days. After about 10mins my burger and fries were ready. The patty was hand made and I really enjoyed the rust sauce and the thin slice of pork roll. The roll was small and looked like a potato roll but it worked with this burger. The total for my meal was just under $10. If you want to grab a good burger for a fair price this is a perfect option.

Tucked away between a run-down apartment building, train tracks, and an odd intersection, The Rusty Shack, living up to its name as a shack, can be easy to miss if you're not looking for it. But what this burger stand doesn't have in size, flashy signs, smart marketing, it makes up for in the taste and the portions they dish out. I ordered the Crusty Rusty and fries (per their suggestion) and I'm glad I did. One bite of the Crusty Rusty, and you'd appreciate all of the flavors that subtly work its way into your mouth. For the price that's less than most burger joints/bars in the area, you get one delicious burger full of flavor and a healthy amount of fries. They have a full range of sauces and I really wished I had ordered a different sauce for my fries other than ketchup but I guess it helped me get a true taste of them. The fried onions are great and cooked just right. I honestly was a bit disappointed that it wasn't an onion ring (since that would be absolutely awesome and remind me of the Carl's Jr burgers in LA) but the sautéed chopped onions were done just right. And even though I don't eat pork, the thick slice of ham was a nice, unexpected touch. There're two outdoor tables and a few benches for you to sit on if you decide to stay and chow down while the burger is warm and there's no bathroom so you won't be able to wash your hands especially if you get a juicy burger or drip the sauce all over. And the wait might be a bit long if there're a lot of people since I can't imagine more than 2 people working inside the tiny shack. I know I'll be back and I'll definitely be trying out the other burgers. So keep an eye out for this little hut and check it out. I promise it won't disappoint. Fyi, GoogleMaps and Apple Maps (and other GPS options) haven't given me correct directions to this place. Gets you to the general area but you'll have to rely on the street and address number to get to the right place. Hopefully, the GPS will get this corrected soon. Parking: Tiny 3 car space or plenty street parking Price: $5.50 per burger + $3 fries, etc. Wait: 10 mins

Twice now, I want to go here and it has been after closing time. Finally last night I got to try this awesome little spot. Husband and I both had the Crusty Rusty and I got curly fries while he had tots. Burgers were huge and delicious. We definitely could have split one and still been full. Curly fries and tots were large as well and perfectly crispy. Price: Made it out under twenty bucks. Service: Guy cooking was also talking orders, very nice and timely.

Cozy little burger shack. I had the Cali burger. Fresh jalapeno peppers and avocado! Friendly service. Two things make this a great burger. 1) Fresh ingredients! You can tell everything from the veggies to the beef is fresh. 2) The high meat/bun ratio in every bite! Don't be fooled into thinking this is a small burger based on the circumference of the bun. The thickness of the patty is noticeable once you dig in. Great burger!

So I am from L.A.. Home of the fat burger and In and Out burger. Pretty famous places to compete with in my opinion. The Rust Shack is a real contender. Real meat perfectly seasoned and cooked as ordered. Delicious tater tots and real freshly cut fries. The owner is a very amiable guy. He takes pride in the food he cooks. Yes! He is the only person working there. A real "One Man Show" A very nice show indeed

Looking for an alternative to the regular old burger places, I looked up on yelp and found quite the little place with stellar reviews so I thought what the heck. The rusty shack is about the size of a large walk in closet, but produces a quality product. Big hand pressed patties with fresh toppings. I had the regular, grilled bun, lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles. Not only that but they have curly fries and tater tots on the menu. They have a couple outside tables to scarf down your food but it's mostly take away. I'll be back and I think you should check it out too.

This place is a "shack". It's located between two apartment buildings at Tyson & Easton. Since discovering the shack, about 6 months ago, we've probably gone 10-15 times. It's takeout only (from a window on the side of the shack). They have great burgers. Nothing fancy, just good old fashion burgers. I recommend the burger with avocado and the fried food assortment of fries, curly fries & tater tots!

My wife was a little hesitant to let me order from this place given the awkward location. It's an easy place to miss and even if you don't miss it, it kind of looks like a place you'd want to miss on first glance. But we wanted burgers and the reviews on yelp were great so she agreed to give it a try. Impressions: Don't let the name fool you. This place does not appear to be rusty. But it is definitely a shack or maybe even a large shed. Its charm is its lack of charm (hipsters, take note). That said, it appeared to be very clean and there's a small, well-maintained outdoor seating area. You order from a window. You may have to wait to place your order while the guy works on someone else's. If you're the kind of person who is exhilarated by the interest a Trader Joe's employee shows in your purchases, this might not be the place for you. The guy isn't rude but his attention is focused on his food, not annoying you with "customer service". He takes your order as soon as he gets a chance, cooks your food, and rings you up. You're there to get a burger, not make a friend. The Food: I had a feeling as soon as I got to the window that it would be good and I wasn't disappointed. The menu has a ton of options and you can customize as you wish. I got the Cobb burger with fried onions instead of red onions and chipotle ranch instead of regular ranch. My wife got the standard burger with fried onions instead of red. We split the French fry medley with rust dust. Everything came out exactly as ordered. My burger was excellent. It was perfectly cooked (crispy on the outside, tender on the inside), the blue cheese was nicely melted, the fried onions were crispy and flavorful, he didn't skimp on the avocado, and the chipotle ranch added a nice kick. My wife loved her burger as well. Easily the best burgers we've had in a long time and it's obvious the guy takes pride in his food. The fries were good too. Next time, I'll get just the curly fries with rust dust (don't miss the rust dust). But the burgers are the obvious highlight and we will definitely go back. If you're reading this, try it. The food is too good for this place not to thrive.

Great small business! High quality, fresh, homemade style! Better than some major burger places! When I went there, there was only one guy (probably the owner) handling it all! Even before your food is ready, it's nice just to watch how he runs the business.

Yummy, yummy yummy! Awesomely good hamburger made with REAL meat - no mystery meat here. The tater tot fries were an unexpected surprise and really delicious. Everything was cooked (both mine and my husband's meal) exactly as we ordered. Parking is extremely limited. Pricing reasonable for a great hamburger.

Stopped in for a late lunch after reading the many positive reviews on yelp. Ordered a burger with avocado and blue cheese and a small order of fries. When I got the burger home, the outside was completely charred and the inside was completely raw--inedible. I was incredibly disappointed and will not be dining here again. Sad considering I wanted to support our local small businesses over fast food chains.

Really great burgers here. The Rusty Shack is literally a shack, there's no sit-down eating, in fact there's barely even room for standing, but make no mistake, the burgers here are by no means a small feat. They're tasty, flavorful, straightforward and simple. There's no gimicks, tricks, or special spices here. Just a straight burger, hot, juicy, and full of flavor. It does look like the meat is bought, ground and pre-formed into patties, so it doesn't look like they make their own patties or grind their own beef here, which makes it lose a few points in my book, but the burger is without a doubt tasty and and delicious. The prices are more than fair, and if you consider bang for your buck, the rusty shack is pretty hard to beat. In my humble opinion, best burger in the area.

This is a gem the size of a shed!!! Easy to miss on the road. Had the tailgater burger. Spicy deliciousness. Wife had the California, which was fresh and tasty. I think the curly fries are better then the regular there. NO indoor seating because it is a tiny building. Owner's son cook our food today. You definitely need to try this little place!!!

Blink and you'll miss it... and you'll be sorry you did! The Rusty Shack may be tiny, but that doesn't hold it back. Prices: so affordable! Amazing for the high food quality. Burgers are hefty, corned beef comes in thick, juicy slabs, and there's no skimping on the fries here. Food: solid all-around. Everything tasted fresh. Burger was cooked to a perfect medium. The spices on the fries were awesome. Corned beef and sauerkraut were full of flavor. Service: Jeremy is a great guy, fun to talk to. There's a small wait time, but it's worth it as he is cooking orders fresh. Summary: worth supporting. No, this isn't a sit-down, chef-run place... it's a burger and fries joint. But in that category, it stands out as one of the best.

Stopped here after reading the positive reviews on Yelp. Rusty shack did not disappoint. I had their signature Crusty Rusty burger. If ur a pork roll fan, this is a must. Very tasty burger and decent fries. I sat at the little table outside in the shade. This is definitely the best burger in the Roslyn area.

Easy 5 stars (even the 4 star reviews call their burgers the best). How do they do it? They simply use the best ingredients in what could only be called gourmet fashion and because of their low overhead the can do it at the same price as the fast food giants. The fries are as good as the burgers and if you order a classic coke you get it in its classic glass bottle. Is there room for improvement? Maybe the bun. 4-5 off street parking spaces to the immediate left of building. THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO REMEMBER: Any order, large or small, will take at least 15 to 20 minutes so order ahead even if you plan to eat at one of their two outdoor tables. WHAT COULD RUIN IT? Too much business. It's usually a one employee operation. Lastly, where is the investment opportunity?

Great local small business. I am originally from this area but now live in NC and came back for a visit and decided to check it out. I got the crusty rusty, great burger and the fries were good too (the portion could be smaller as i threw some away). Surprisingly everyone local i told about this place didnt even know about it so perhaps some local marketing or signage would help spread the word. Dont forget to tip the workers either!
