We love mountain biking all along the Lehigh and Delaware. After hours of riding we enjoy dining outside at the Tavern. The nachos are excellent. I love the portobello wrap, too! My wife enjoys the wings or fish and chips. Just about everything they serve is tasty and well prepared. The service has always been good. We are daytime patrons and always have a relaxed, never rushed brew and food. We plan on returning often!

Unfortunately, I have to drop a star for a couple of reasons. This was my second time at Riegelsville Tavern. Having loved the Fish & Chips dinner the last time, I was excited to have it again! I made the mistake of ordering the Blue Crab & Cheese Fritters appetizer though... it was burnt. I should have sent it back for $12.99. I don't know what I was thinking. They dimmed the lights down a ton this time when the band started playing, which made the app taste worse. I couldn't see what i was eating, but I tasted the crispy black burnt pieces of the fritters. Gross. I'm partly mad at myself for even eating them. Then I couldn't enjoy my Fish & Chips and didn't feel good for eating so much fried/breaded stuff. I noticed that the Fish & Chips dinner was $15.99 and that a few of the entrees on the menu were only $1 extra and the Penne Pasta Alla Vodka with Chicken was actually the same price. I inquired again about using my free dessert deal with entree when checking in on yelp. Last time I was told that I couldn't use it because it wasn't technically listed in the entrees section of the menu, rather as a dinner option as an alternative to the fish sandwich. This time I was told it was only accepted Monday-Thursday, which isn't written on the deal. I assume I won't ever be able to use it so forget that. If I come back again I will probably order a soup or salad and the Fish & Chips dinner. I'm staying away from their appetizers due to 100% bad experiences.

This place can use a better help. It is in such a good location and could do great. But we walked in and got no hello despite tons of staff. Our simple meals took 40 minutes. The management did acknowledge the wait which was positive. My suggestion would be to pair down the menu offer only what you can do well.

It actually pains me to write this review. We first started coming here about 2 1/2 years ago, shortly after moving to the area. Our first few times here were great, the food was good, service was pleasant, and while the prices were a tad higher, we did feel it was worth it, especially since our 2 kids enjoyed it as well. We brought many friends and family here and everyone enjoyed it. Fast forward to now, and it's a shadow of it's former self. While service is polite, depending on the server, there doesn't seem to be much care in your experience. The food has dramatically dropped in quality and preparation. Our last couple times, a simple dinner salad had limp and wilted greens. They have a new "Duck burger" in their specialty burger section. I usually get the consistently good breakfast burger, but decided to try the duck burger instead. It's a pre-formed patty that was probably bought frozen from Sysco or US Foods. It was flat out terrible. The pork chop was dry, and even the mashed potatoes which used to be good, are bland and tasteless. The prices have also gone up. Maybe it's because it's the summer time and they are trying to capture more revenue from people who visit the river. My clam chowder was $6.99 and was a small bowl of pre-bagged quality soup. It was very disappointing. On a positive note, the sweet chili wings were still tasty, and their beer selection is not bad. As I mentioned, service is spotty depending on who you get. Unfortunately, we won't be coming back. There are too many other places that have much better food in the area for the price.

Fortunately I didn't get a chance to check ratings before stopping in or I might have driven by. Danielle was on duty when I stopped in and her demure was nothing short of delightful just as the surroundings. So why four stars instead of five, not one thing I can point out maybe just a few little pet peeves but nothing that would stop me visiting again. My appetiser was more than enough for a lunch and I would have had a hard time eating anything else. The entrees looked a little pricey for what was coming out of the kitchen but I will reserve that opinion for later when I visit again ...

ZERO rating... Slow, impersonal service. If you're not buying drink after drink you're ignored. There seems to be no cutoff point in this bar trying to be a restaurant (it IS a bar with food, not the other way around)... drunks are not nice to dine around. Food is mediocre at best and takes forever to get to the table. We had plates come at different times too. Not nice finishing your meal while your wife is still waiting for hers. .... Fish and chips were greasy and seemed to come from frozen fish. The sauces for the pastas taste grainy... like from a powder or a large jar... definitely not home made. Meatballs were made with way too much bread... cheaping out. We were incredibly cold (in winter).... can't they afford heat? On top of this, we just learned that they were just fined by the state liquor authority for refilling bottles of liquor. You have no idea of what you're paying for. This seems like a biker bar trying to be something it's not.... the last bar-restaurant the owners had like this in Frenchtown got in lots of trouble with locals a police for all sorts of bad activities.

I don't have a huge sample size of experiences at this location, other than the fact that I know it looks far better under the new ownership than it ever did in the past. They have 16 draft beers, but don't tout a good selection of any craft beers to choose from. 3 of 16 were from what I'd consider microbreweries and the remaining selections were macro brews. This typically shows the business wants to maintain a standard clientele more than provide tasting opportunities to the customer. In addition to the beer, they have a specialty cocktail menu and a modest wine selection. Unfortunately, we didn't have an opportunity to sample the menu while we were here. The location appears to have a selection of high end pub fare with the prices of a typical gastropub. You can reference other reviews for opinions on the food quality. During our visit, they had live music. The service was slow, providing my table and I one drink then not returning. if there was an opportunity for the business to sell some appetizers or another round they missed a chance. I ended up walking to the bar from the dining area to close our group's tab. An A+ for what they did with the place, but there are still a lot of fundamental things that need to turn around for this to be a high quality establishment.

Food was good and waiter/bartender was on the ball. The burger was cooked as ordered and the turkey club was fresh. Great place to stop on way to new hope.

We had an event in town and decided to try this place on a whim. We were a big group of 10 people. Before we got our table, we asked if having a big party would be a problem. They said it was fine. The place was empty because we came in on a Saturday around 1:30 pm (lunch was over and dinner hadn't started). So far, so good. We got a round of drinks, and then another. The waitresses were not pleasant, but were fine at taking our orders. We sat at our table for over 60 minutes before we first asked about our food. We were told it would come out "soon." Twenty minutes later, we asked again. They said "15 minutes." Then we asked again. We tried to be accommodating and asked to have our food come out separately. We were never told anything about our food unless we asked them. It had been over 90 minutes and still no food. Then we asked for a manager. There was no manager. We asked to speak to the chef. The bartender told us the chef refused to come out. At this point, it was almost 4pm. This is a very long time for food to come out. We were then told by one of the waitresses that we should have made a reservation (even though two hours earlier they said it was fine). Plus, the restaurant was empty at this point. Two other tables had come in after us, eaten their meals and left. There were two waitresses and one bartender. Maybe 2 customers at the bar at that point. There is no reason it should have take 2 hours for our food to come out. Once it came, it was fine. Edible. But we were starving and certainly did not have an enjoyable time. The bartender told us, one round of drinks would be on him, though when we got the bill, this wasn't the case. We had to go through the arduous process of going over the bill line by line with him to make sure it was accurate. Also, one person's meal was never brought out. The waitress rolled her eyes and sighed when we told her this was the case. I wish my experience would have been better. Unfortunately, this place has very unprofessional staff and I would not recommend it to anyone.

Made reservations for dinner in front of the fireplace for 6pm Thursday, Only to show up, and was told that the lady with the accent did not put it in the book. Then we went to the Bar , order a special martini, which not filled all the way. We then order appitizers, I order fried calamari, salty over cooked but yet less then room tempeturer was sreved. When the owner came over and asked how thimgs were, I let him know. He must of let the cook know , becuase he came out to stand in front of me at the bar, getting ice loudly and then Slamming the sccop into the picture. It was vey slow, so for the poor quality food is NO EXCUSE or the Reservation mess up..Plus the sink in ladies room was clogged up.

Good beer selection. Unfortunately it seems as though you don't get much food for your money.

Friendly service, great burgers, vast beer selection and a big fireplace. I don't understand the negative reviews. This place is really nice.

The first time I went they had no microbrews on tap with a total of 16 available taps! It was very hot outside but I had to sit outside to avoid the super loud music in the dining area. The waitstaff is more familiar with the locals then with the menu or the draft beer selections. My dinner was vey good but small portions of sides. Expensive for portion size. I tried this place a second time and they had one microbrew on tap but it was still very loud inside. Surprisingly the food is still very good but the portions are again small. Entrées aremain very pricey for this type of establishment. I doubt I will try it for a third time even though I live close.

Let me preface by saying I don't understand all the negative reviews. They must have stepped up their game because I went there yesterday for dinner and it was good. The outdoor seating is nice. My beer was fresh/crisp and didn't taste stale like at a lot of other pubs. The burger was very well seasoned and the portion size was large. There was live music and a small crowd for a Saturday. I suppose the beer could have been cheaper at a $6 pint as those are Philly prices and it took a while before the waitress came over to greet me. I would definitely return.

My in-laws recommended the place, they live very close and often frequent the local establishments in the area. They watched the "little ones" while my wife and I were able to get out for a couple hours. The atmosphere was very nice, fire in the fireplace, tables not too close together, not too fancy, just relaxing. The food was excellent. My wife had the special, a stuffed pork tenderloin, I had the rib eye, cooked med/rare. We had the calamari as our appetizer. A hand full of Bluemoon drafts. The steak was cooked perfectly, I would order the same next time. Our server, Katie, was very nice, knowledgeable, gave us just the right amount of time to decide and enjoy our selections. The live entertainment was the "bald guy in the corner of the room", that's what he said...I didn't catch his real name. Acoustic solo covers of popular music, very good, not too loud, we had another two beers at the bar. The bar staff was very polite, quick to refill the pints. We will most definitely return. It is great to get out for an evening, just the two of us and be very happy with our choice. Thanks again.

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. Slow service, over priced food ad over all horrible experience. We went in a beautiful Saturday afternoon and there were just senior citizens. That should have been the first clue! $30 for 8 wings and a handful of French fries. We will not be back!

Despite a bit of a wait due to two very large groups, the wait staff was friendly and accommodating. Food was stellar. Corned beef rueben was sweet, filling and delicious while the fancy grilled cheese was excellent. Craft beer selection is also great for the area. We'd definitely revisit!

It was my first time in this place and looked like a convenient place to stop. It's a newly decorated place with a cold draft and a few touches to remind us there once was a nice eatery here. I had an open mind entering this place, expecting anything, which quickly veered into the fact I'd walked into a back-wash slimey meat market that had forgoten how quickly the rest of the world lives, and how silly it all looks to anyone outside of their realm. We blanked the most of it enjoyed our company ate and drank, and besides food snobishness thought the meal was all good and cooked ok. I guess when we asked for the bill, the bartenders who among with the rest of the staff came across just wrong in a lot of ways, had also broken glasses into the dish-hole and not cleared up after themselves, which in-turn lead to one of them bleeding all over the sink, must have thought we were so drunk out of our simple little heads that we wouldn't be able to count our change! and decided to short us. Funny I don't know about anybody else but, I've never been short changed by someone, who knew how much the difference was, before knowing how much they'd given me first. I won't be back in a hurry, this kind of place can give these cute towns a bad rep and that is why I'm spending my time writing this.

Granted, they recently opened so there are probably many issues to still work out. Quick synopsis of a Tuesday evening experience. 1. Waitress swore three times in opening salvo of conversation. I am not really a prude but when my wife and I are going out to eat, sitting in the dining room and they have a 29 dollar steak on the menu, do you really need to say "sh*t " in front of your customers? 2. Lipstick on wife's glass. 3. 8 wings for 8 bucks......ehh.......tavern?? Why not a dozen? 4. Burgers ordered med....cooked well done. They were tasty and well presented. Roll and lettuce excellent. 5. When asked if we wanted dessert and we said no, the waitress exclaimed loudly "BORING!" I am not sure if this was an attempt of humor but seriously, who does that? 6. Bill overcharged us, tried to get it fixed, they returned it with even more items added.....wow... 7. For the love of god, please use spell check on your menu. Chirizo? 8 You have an IPA on draft. For that I applaud you. It is a shame, I really hoped it would be better. Something to fit right between Hoots and the Inn but seemed like Inn prices with worse service and food Could be a great place for a beer but would not go for dinner.

This place use to be just a watering hole for the locals. New ownership has decided to go a litlle more upscale. I'm not sure what they are doing here. The place doesn't know if it wants to be a sports bar or a restaurant. I think it misses the mark on both accounts. They have a fairly decent beer selection, but, that's about it. The food is just a disappointment. Everything is priced insanely high when one considers the quality and quantity.
