OK, I admit, I thought this place was super-sketch from the outside and hadn't considered it, even thought it's mere blocks from my flat. But I found out Tea Garden offers online ordering through Zuppler.com and, as it's a minor aim of mine to never have to use the phone for any reason other than speaking to my mother, I felt a twinge of excitement. So I took a gander at the menu and the twinge became spasm: It's a vegetarian's paradise. Not just your usual veggies in garlic sauce and ma po tofu -- Tea Garden brings it hard, with kung pao, general tso, orange, sesame, teriyaki (and more) tofu and seitan dishes. Bonus: There's a whole vegetarian appetizer section, so you don't have to guess as to the contents of the spring rolls or whatever. I ordered up (for delivery) roughly my own body weight in food -- lo mein, kung pao fried tofu, broccoli/string beans/snow peas and tofu, fried rice, spring rolls -- because (1) I wanted to get to taste a couple things that looked interesting and (2) I was hungry. The delivery woman couldn't have been more of a delight -- super-sweet and funny -- and Tea Garden had included some chocolate-dipped fortune cookies. The excitement spasm was reaching critical levels. Finally, I sat down to stuff my hongray-hole and ... everything was terrific. Like, a serious cut above for Chinese takeaway. Although I think next time, I'll get the kung pao vegetables cos, even though the fried tofu was done really well and was really tasty, I felt guilty about the calories (but, obviously, not about all the other calories and simple carbs ... whaaa?). There's all manner of meaty versions of things on the menu, although I didn't have any, I think it's safe to assume they'd be super-tasty as well. So, before I fall fully into an excitement coma, let me summarize: awesome food, awesome service, THE CONVENIENCE OF ONLINE ORDERING. Can't recc Tea Garden enough -- it's defo become my regular Chinese.

I don't understand the really bad reviews. For a side street Chinese place, I'm fine with it. The owner is super friendly and even things like cheese steak eggrolls are made on premises.

This is strictly a take out joint, and frankly don't bother! The quality fo the food is terrible, although quick and ready when I arrived to pick it up. The food was bland, lacking in vegetables, and the sauces were not what I ordered. I will never order from this place again.

This was the worst Chinese I have ever had! I thought I would swing by on my way home from work and try it out since the reviews were pretty mixed. Not only was the service extremely slow (guy was working by himself, wife walked in after 20 minutes of waiting to help), but the food was awful. I wouldn't have minded if my Sesame Chicken wasn't perfect, but it was completely dried out and the fried rice, well that's literally all it was. I believe there were a few onions in it, nothing else. The price definitely reflects the type of food. I will not be going back.

We are new to town and haven't found a Chinese restaurant that we love- until now! The only reason I am not giving it five stars is because it took over an hour to deliver tonight. Tea Garden has a fabulous, lengthy menu- a mix of Japanese, Korean, Chinese and other dishes. We ordered: chicken lo mein combination (with pork fried rice and an egg roll), chicken on a stick, scallion pancakes (my favorite Korean staple!) and crab Rangoon. Everything was fresh and moderately priced- the crab Rangoon were thick and flavorful with big chunks of crab, the scallion pancakes came with a yummy garlic dipping sauce, and the chicken on the stick were big and tender. The delivery person- the owner's wife- was a lovely lady who asked if we'd lived here long and welcomed us to the neighborhood. It was a refreshing change from the usual rush of a delivery person. We will definitely order from Tea Garden again-lots of quirky options to try out on their menu!

I'm sorry, but if this is your idea of 5 star Chinese food, go to Acme and but yourself a can of La Choy! Seriously, this is not very good, even as take out goes. Limp veggies and flat sauces. Okay for you want a mediocre egg roll and wonton soup, but not too much more.

**Please note this review is lengthy due to it being the most up to date review, and more needs to be said** I have lived in Phoenixville for about 8 months now, and have ordered delivery from this place at least 10 times. Other reviews don't give the best impression of their food or establishment, mostly because they are out of date. Yelp should have an expiration date on old reviews because the food I have had is outstanding and is always delivered very quick. The owners are a sweet couple, and the wife has always been the one to deliver my food. She is very kind and loves what she does, which makes me love to order food from them. If you are looking for great Chinese take out, look no further. People are correct about there not being a great selection in this area, but for me personally I don't need a lot of selection when I know where to go to get my Chinese food fix!

Very nice people serving more authentic Chinese food. By that I mean extremely greasy. It's better than many in the area and I'd eat it again but my wife said no way. The ribs aren't very good and the egg foo young was too greasy to enjoy but the egg rolls, lo mein, and fried dumplings were good to very good.

Best Chinese food in Phoenixville hands down. For two years I've tried every place in the area and felt disappointed every time. I ordered NTG for the first time tonight and it's the best Chinese food I've had in years! The wonton soup was homemade, the chicken & broccoli, and chicken lo mein were delicious, definitely not greasy. The thing that stood out the most was how kind the staff was. They seem to genuinely care about building a relationship with customers. We will definitely be ordering from NTG again!

Lived around here half a year ago and this was my go-to Chinese food place. For what I liked (General Tsao's and Lo Mein) their food were solid. I got the Kim Chi Beef once and they were very good too. What keeps be going back were they Mock Chicken dishes, so vegetarians craving something yummy should definitely check them out! Make no mistake, this is a hole in a wall take out place. The margins on Chinese take out isn't great and they can't really afford a nicer store front, but I have enjoyed their food and they are very friendly.

We were visiting friends and tasked to find and pick up Chinese food on our way. Using my yelp app I found this. All great reviews so whatever... only two reviews but they were good reviews. So like I said, whatever lets do this. We pulled up and the first words out of my mouth were "I ordered shrimp uhh" But I had read in another review that place was good and it just looks sketchy. Well they were right. I didn't really expect much and I was prepared for that. We ordered 4 combo platters: all came with great pork fried rice and an egg roll. Very good. Good portion sizes. General Tso got good reviews. Sesame chicken got great reviews. Me and my Garlic Shrimp, so-so. My favorite (House Special Wonton Soup) was very good. Good quality. Also there are coupons on the back of the menu our order granted us a little extras so be sure you check them out when you order. Its always worth it!

I live right across the street from this place. The owners know me so well and they are very friendly - I just have to call and tell them my name and she can always tell me what I am going to order. Their food is great, the outside does not look too great but don't let it fool you. A great Chinese place!

There is not one good Chinese restaurant in Phoenixville. Give up hope. I stumbled across this place one day when I had off. Against my better judgment and advice from a friend I ordered take out. While the service was prompt and the food was prepared quickly but that is where it went downhill. The food wasn't good in either a typical American Chinese way or in an authentic Chinese standard. It was greasy and ill prepared, not fresh, and frankly I was nauseous after eating. I will not go into details about the rest of my evening afterwards but take my advice and don't eat here.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
