This place aint cheap, but the rolls are spectacular! It is definitely my favorite place to eat in PHL. My favorites are the smoked eel and tuna rolls, and they also have some pretty good ramen! BOTTOM LINE: Delicious sushi option in the Philly airport.

Great place for an Asian bistro takeout and bar. I love that I can now bring my favorite food in flight with me. The quality is definitely not there yet but it's still worth getting if you're craving an in flight pad thai or shumai. The sushi definitely appears premise as my rice was cold, hard and flocking off in chunks. Might want to think twice before grabbing sushi on a long flight just in the event something doesn't agree! Prices are what you'd expect in an airport so don't be too shocked or think you can get something else where for a better deal. I'll be honest, I'll keep coming back because Asian is my favorite. I'll know the quality I'm getting myself into beforehand.

Solid airport fare. A bit on the pricey side, but liked the miso soup and sashimi salad. Amidst heavy fast food joints, this is a great find. Ask for time to cook various items on menu if one is in a hurry. Miso soup served lukewarm but they could heat it up quickly when asked. Efficient service at 10.30pm at the airport.

Really good food, fast service, readily available alcohol, and really chill ambiance and music. The decorations are very minimalist and appealing. Phone charging available everywhere. This place is quite comfortable. Worth the cash.

Not sure why this place is poorly rated. Some of the best airport food I've had. And the service was excellent - fast, attentive, and with a smile. This might be the only good thing that I've found about PHL Airport. I had a salad with sashimi on it at the recommendation of the server. I was very pleased. Decent beer selection as well. There are nice USB power hubs right at the bar, a thing seriously lacking in most airports. So belly up!

Each stool at the bar area has a power outlet which is nice. The wings and the chicken pad thai were pretty good. It was not my favorite preparation of either but both were definitely good enough. I agree with others that the citrus flavor of the pad thai was different but it was still tasty. The price was pretty steep. They can probably get away with offering tapas sized portions to get the price down. All in all, it definitely was good enough. I prefer the restaurant lounge feel when killing time at the airport.

Food was fair to good. Had a cross section from dumplings, sushi to fried rice. What killed it was the waitstaff. She was cold, rude and frankly not pleasant. The gentleman next to tried in earnest to get her attention with no luck, I too was waiting to order. I pulled a passing waitstaff handling other and ordered for both of us. She was not our waiter!

I don't quite understand the mediocre reviews of this place! I am here almost every time I pass through Philly. Very good sushi, noodle/ rice bowls, chill atmosphere and I have only experienced good quality every single time. Very friendly service as well. I love it!

Great mojitos! Only stopped in for drinks during a lay over. Staff is friendly, and the place had a lot of tables. They had some good deals on food, the drinks were pricey, but what I expect from an airport. The food looked good, I wish I tried it, but alas we did not have time. If you need somewhere to hang out this is a good place. The bar has outlets for electronic devies.

Fantastic Kobe beef burger - cooked perfectly with great toppings. Tasty fries as well. Hit the spot!

I travel a lot and spend a lot of time in airports. This is by far one of my favorite stops. Granted the place is a bit pricey, but not out of line for an airport. The staff is friendly and attentive, it has a nice decor, plenty of outlets for the traveling person and the food is good. I usually get the vegetable fried rice, which is enough for 4 people, and the tuna tartar which has always been great. The tea is very nice, but you need to let it sit a bit. Cost for one is usually about $35 and that is with a beer, again not bad. They are fast and sometimes feel like they are rushing you, but thats actually a benefit in an airport; most people who stop here are on a tight timeline.

After arriving from a long flight I decided to get a "take out" from Sky Asian Bistro... I've ordered 2 rolls, the Spicy Tuna ($6.50) and the Sky Shrimp Tempura ($13.50). I was super dissapointed when I arrived home and open the bag, the rolls were small and thin. In the spycy tuna, the cucumber was like 2/3 of the roll and in some pieces I could barely see the tuna. The other one was not made properly and it fall apart when you try to handle it with the chopstick. I will not reccomend anybody to go there... it is pricy and the quality is low.

This place is awesome. Seriously my favorite airport bar of all time. The outlets and USB ports rock and they have some awesome TV's. About midway through my drink this woman came in and got wrecked out of her mind. The bartenders did everything they could to sober her up. That's pretty boss.

Having cleared checked in and cleared security well before our flight, we needed to kill some time and get some food before our connection to JFK. We knew we were several hours away from our in-flight "meal", and wanted a light lunch to tide us over. Sky Bistro seemed to fit the bill. I got a few pieces of sashimi, sake and hamachi, which were cut large and presented over a serviceable daikon salad. We also split a fried rice that was enough for 2 or 3 people. We were served quickly, and our waitress was friendly. In front, they have a take out counter, and tables line a central bar. The bar had power/usb outlets, but the tables didn't seem to. It was a bit on the pricey side, but that's what I expected in the captive market of an airport terminal.

This place screams: we don't care. Awful cocktails. Dumplings were left out and dry (won't be surprised if it makes me ill). 11 dollars for the dumplings. 13 for the crappy cocktails. Ugh.

This is my favorite place to eat at PHL. I like the atmosphere. They have usb and AC chargers at the bar. The sushi is good for an airport place. The service is very friendly and fast. They have ramen and other things on the menu too but I have only had the sushi. They also have my favorite bottled Japanese green tea, Ito En Oi Ocha. The vibe is pretty cool too. You could almost forget you were in an airport and that is a good thing especially when that airport is PHL.

Yellowtail, salmon, and spider roll all outstanding tonight. Great find in Philadelphia airport.

  • Vanessa W.

Totally decent for an airport restaurant. The sleek Asian decor caught my eye, but I didn't have time to sit so I ordered take-out--shrimp pad-thai. It was legitimately tasty, though a little on the salty side. The place is pricey, though, but it might be a good choice if you are really hurting for some decent-quality food. I've pretty much given up on in-flight meals and like being able to find decent food I can either eat during a layover or take on the plane with me.

After missing a flight, this restAurant made me think life wasnt too bad after all! Amazing spicy seafood Ramen! One has to try!

You have a problem with your staff at the Terminal C restaurant location. I can't eat meat so I ordered the Shrimp Pad Thai. Though the menu made no mention of onions I specifically asked for "no onion, shallots, chives, etc." as I am allergic. "Of course" was the happy response. The cashier placed my freshly cooked order into a plastic bag, tied a knot and sent me on my way. I decided to take a peak while boarding and even stole a few bites when I realized there were large chunks of onions throughout the dish! Since I had just paid $17+ for a dinner I couldn't eat I decided to jump off line and make things right. The cashier was nice enough but passed me off to the cook who criticized me for choosing the meal saying the "menu says onions." First of all, it doesn't. Second, it wouldn't matter if it did, I asked for no onions and the cook shouldn't be arguing with the customer so bluntly, or at all if I was the manager. The cook dumped my new meal into a bag, tied a knot and sent me packing again. As my plane was boarding I rushed on with my meal and sat at my seat to eat. Failed again. This new meal was chicken, not shrimp and it had none of the peanuts, cilantro or lime I got the first time. I also wasn't given a fork. To review, despite my best efforts I paid $17+ for one dinner that conflicted with my allergies and had to take medicine to counteract its affects. Then it was swapped out for something I didn't order and could not eat. If I wasn't on a plane I would have returned the second dinner and asked for my money back. I can't describe how frustrating it was to fly 3 hours with this under my skin. I'm disgusted at the lack of attention, disrespect from the cook and the exorbitant cost I forked over to basically miss a meal and go without food until my plane landed around 10:45pm.

Not sure what people are expecting. It's sushi in an airport. You MAY want to stick to the cooked items. Nice atmosphere, comfortable seating, and the servers seemed to be trying. I did have to loudly clear my throat to get one to take our order, but the food came very quickly. We split a California roll that was bland but had real sushi rice and crab. I had the calamari salad. The calamari was undercooked and the dressing had weird fried drippings in it. So... I liked the faux Japanese decor in an airport. It was kind of fun. The food was pretty meh, but it's an airport after all. They made my husband a fresh pot of coffee at his request and didn't even charge for the cup, which is the kind of thing that goes a long way with me. I didn't think $45 for the two of us in a sit down restaurant in an airport was bad.

Ha. Never thought I'd write a review for airport food, but here it is. Philly's airport is in the last part (as far as I can tell) of a major rebuild. Part of this change is an increase in a few higher end restaurants. One of these is Sky Asian Bistro. Walking in is a little difficult due to the masses of people trying to get to their gate and the amount of tables they squeezed into this place. We found a cubby-hole in the corner. We received our menus quickly and she quickly followed up with our drinks. They have the usual assortment of sushi but the prices were a little high (expected as it's an airport). California rolls were $4.50, but any kind of real fish was $6.50+ per roll. My wife got the Cali rolls and she liked them ok, nothing earth shattering. I got the Tuna Rolls and was impressed by the quantity and quality of the tuna. They did a great job. They food service was quick and responsive and the staff seem to help each other out. Most of the waitresses were pretty dang hot too!

Sushi and sashimi at the airport - it takes courage or stupidity to do it, so which am I....the tuna and salmon were okay, though I admittedly wasn't feeling myself on the flight immediately after and I'm not certain why.

  • Stacey P.

I have been warned that airport sushi is terrible. I should have taken those warnings to heart. It is very expensive for terrible food. The airplane food, which is small pathetic portions for a lot of money, is better then this garbage. The salmon was like chewing on rawhide and it had a strange after taste that salmon should never have. The service was pathetically slow and unfriendly. The waitress gave me the bill before she gave me my food. It really isn't worth the time, money, or space.

    (1)
  • Donna B.

Bleh. It's okay to stop in here for a drink if you like, but not the food. You'd be better off breezing by one of the fast food joints in the airport. The spring rolls tasted like they were pulled from your grocer's freezer and zapped in the microwave, and the pad thai just wasn't...pad thai. Yeah, yeah, I'm used to authentic pad thai and this IS an airport...but...sigh. OK bar, close to some C gates, and several TVs... The waitresses were nicer to men or anyone who looked like they may have money.

Not gluten friendly. At all. Not even a little bit. But what redeems this place to me is that the waitress/bartender knew this and told me that I shouldn't eat there. Kudos for educating employees about food allergies. This is, I think, the only full restaurant in this terminal at PHL. Shame they can't accommodate more patrons' dietary restrictions. I only had a couple of drinks here (because there's absolutely nothing I could eat.) Vodka soda with a lime. They were pretty good. The bartender was pretty attentive while I was drinking even though the bar was packed. When I (or any of the other 5 people around me) wanted their bill it was hard to get their attention. Sucks for the one or two people who heard "final call" announcements for their flights. I might've ditched on a bill if that was me. OHMYGOSH HOW COULD I FORGET? This place has USB & Outlets at every spot at the bar. Drinks and charge my phone? Yes please!

The 4 stars is using airport food as standard. Very good, healthy alternative to the many unhealthy if not unpalatable food one often finds.

Stopped by for breakfast before catching an early morning flight. The breakfast menu looked good and I decided to order the eggs benedict. It was quite the disappointment. When the dish arrived the hollandase sauce just looked like goop. But the worst was when I cut into the eggs. Instead of yolk oozing out and mixing with hollandase sauce, the eggs were cooked solid. Really just a hard boiled eggs. Many minutes later the server came over and asked how my food was. I explained that that the eggs were way overcooked. She said "oh did you want it poached?" Why yes, that's why I ordered a poached egg dish. "oh Ok, I'll change your order." Apparantly they don't even know how the dish is to be prepared and asking that it be prepared correctly is a special request. The bread was dry and the "home fries" were little more than french fries cut smaller. The service was also spotty at least for me. While the server quickly approched other guests and even pulled out the table so that one guest could easily sit at the banquet. I got no such treatment. When the other guest ordered coffee he was brought the entire service. I ordered tea and it came with no sugar/cream or even a tea spoon. I had to get sugar from another table myself. However I couldn't stir the sugar into the tea as I had no spoon and since the server wandered away and never looked back it took forever to get one. Even then I was told they had to give me a big spoon becasue they were out of tea spoons.

Pretty decent ramen for an airport place. Actually, it was legitimately good. I'd return if it weren't in an airport. Yeah, I was pretty surprised too.

  • Carol B.

Horrendous food. Had ahi tuna salad. Returned it as ahi didn't taste right. Ordered California roll. Crabmeat was fresh but also tasted funny and was very bland. Always wanted to try, but never had time. Now I know better. Servers were very nice, so gave them 1 star.

I love this place ! I had the chicken fried rice and chicken satay-best I've ever had! My husband had a spicy tuna roll, eel roll and a salmon roll. All 3 had a great portion of fish and he said they were all excellent (and he eats a lot of sushi). Highly recommend eating here-can't wait to come back.

  • Asina G.

Beware of any "Specials" that the servers tell you about, but which are not on the menu. I fell victim to this. I ordered the Firecracker Roll, after the waitress so nicely described it to me. It was actually really good and very filling. However, imagine my surprise when my bill came and I was charged $22 for ONE sushi roll! Seriously? That is unacceptable! If you're going to offer things that aren't on the menu and are not comparably priced to other similar items on the menu, then you need to DISCLOSE the price to the guest as part of the description! SMH.

Do not eat here and especially don't sit at the bar. I have never encountered such rude and inappropriate treatment or behavior as a customer anywhere in my life. I was between flights and sat at the deserted bar (yes I was the only person sitting) and plugged my phone in one of about 20 outlets along the counter to check some emails. The Asian bartender with the glasses was not only pushy, but after declining to order anything after a few minutes, went into an outrageous tirade. She actually had the nerve to tell me I was "rude" for sitting there and that this "wasn't public domain" and began cursing at me. She completely lost it and and began insulting me over sitting at the empty bar and not being sure or ready to order. I was in complete and utter shock. To make matters worse, the manager was standing nearby and didn't step in to get control over this ridiculous employee. I work in hospitality, and I have never, and I mean NEVER witnessed such an attitude and disrespect toward a potential customer/patron.

Picture it...late flight...unresponsive airline employees....and hunger pains. Sky Asian Bistro kind of saved the day. What was really helpful was that it was right across from my gate, but they also had a screen with flight statuses in the restaurant. Best sushi rolls ever? No way! It had a bit too much rice and inconsistent rolls, but Sky Asian Bistro had some decent specialty drinks (I'd recommend the margarita martini combo drink- that had a much cooler name) and a miso soup that hit the spot.

This place has come down a lot... in quality...not price. Stopped here for lunch on the way to a plane... the first thing was the service sucked.. we got menues then the waitress disappeared for about 15 minutes... This in an airport??? We were rescued by another young lady who I took to be a bus person because she wore a different uniform... the only person in the place who seemed to be professional. I ordered the Mongolian Barbeque Bahn Mi. Good meat... weird bahn mi..just a few cuccumber ribbons and maybe some mayo on a very soft roll. This was accompanied with a big pile of what I took to be fried edamame... interesting but with no salt on the table it felt naked. My companion had a Thai chichen salad that was pretty mediocre. I had a glass of wine that could have been served in a shot glass. The whole thing was expensive time consuing and mediocre... with that to recommend it I suggest that if your in the Philly airport and have a hankering for Asian food walk past this place and head for Asian Chao.

  • Brian G.

Ordered Crunchy Roll. Very disappointed. More cream cheese and rice than tuna. I've tasted better tuna out of a can. No crunch...completely lacking tempura flakes. If you are looking for a sushi fix at the airport stay away.

We breezed thru security and had almost two hours to blow on Christmas Eve...and so sat at Sky Asian Bistro for a good long time. Four stars on the drinks, they were delicious....but minus one because of airport pricing...but hey! Every airport is pricey. We avoided the sushi, even though it LOOKED good, and opted for the Spicy Ramen Noodle Soup and the Chicken Pad Thai. They were both very tasty, I took my leftovers on the plane and ate them the next day for a snack. It wasn't the best Pad Thai I've ever had, but it sure wasn't the worst! Our waitress was very friendly and very attentive, so we were also pleased with that. The decor was nice for an airport bar, comfy barstools with backs, placemats at each setting, and menus out and ready to order from, which was nice.

I am blown away by how good the service and food was here. Had noodles and hand rolls. So yum!

I have mixed feelings about the sushi from here, and maybe I should give them the benefit of the doubt since airports obviously charge more for food .... because they can. BUT I have to draw the line at inadequately described items on the menu and portion sizes that don't cut the mustard. Servers here were very polite, dressed and conducted themselved professionally for my visit - too bad they weren't given much to work with. I ordered a Blue Diamond Roll and in the description was the following: "ahi tuna, salmon, and yellowtail". I expected a sushi roll with the fish listed and rice all wrapped up. In mine, the rice was replaced by salad greens and it was loosely wrapped in soy paper. Since it was already on the table (can't send it back ....) I just scarfed it down along with a spicy tuna hand roll. Since I needed more sustenance and didn't want to get hosed any further I just went for a spicy tuna roll. A pretty meager amount of tuna was crushed under the weight of a massive cucumber wedge. After stumbling across this site I'm glad I didn't order the "bad" food or get the awful service: tripadvisor.com/Restaura… Makes you wonder doesn't it?

  • Zachary R.

I don't think the food was much better than Panda Express or any similar chain of "Asian" food that floods airports; you sit better than at the airport food court, and some of the tables have power outlets, but I left feeling like I should have just gone to the Chinese fast food in the terminal. Note: only the bar and bar height seats have power outlets; the regular tables do NOT - they're intentionally covered over/removed. If you need to charge a laptop, you have to ask for and sit on a bar stool. A good place to watch ESPN, if you need one.

I have had the sushi here, and other items, many times and I had always beleived the Sky Asian Bistro to be overpriced and mediocre at best. However, tonight pushed me over the edge and I will not eat here again. I have come to expect the overpricing of mediocre food when I am traveling, but completely inflated pricing for terrible food is unacceptable anywhere. I paid $22 for miso soup, lettuce wraps and a vegetarian roll. The soup had a few onions in it and one piece of seaweed ($6). The roll wasn't rolled tightly and came apart with every bite, and true to the above review, the menu description did not amount to what was actually in the roll. What was that fried brown thing anyway? Was that some kind of sad Tamago? ($5.50). I shudder at the thought of the Lettuce Wraps ($9) - tofu and vegetables is what the menu said. Instead, I got slop with shadows of snowpeas and limp broccoli hidden under a babycorn or two. All swimming, I'm sorry, drowning in sauce. I thought of fresh chunky veggies and strips of tofu when I read the menu, not a pool of garlic sauce and soggy fun noodles. I've never been compelled to write such a review, but alas money thrown away and a sore tummy from the bites I did manage to swallow have stirred me in such a way....never again. Au Bon Pain is right down the way.

I must say I was quite surprised at the quality of sushi at this airport restaurant. My Husband and I stopped here over an international layover to have dinner. We had a sushi roll that was artfully presented and of pretty good quality. I read horror stories about this place through other Yelpers but I think this place has been renovated and with new management.

The fish is fine. The people are nice. The prices are disgusting. $10 for two pieces of tuna sashimi? 2x the price of nobu. It's robbery.

This airport sushi bar is better than most. The rolls are big, with good quality fish. On the downside, two rolls can cost over $25.

  • Jennifer A.

This is the only place worth dining at when stuck in PHL. The wine selection is decent and you get a generous pour. The Dragon roll is always fresh and artfully presented, and I love the spicy ramen seafood soup. The servers can be brusque but they are usually always busy. As mentioned, the bar has plug-ins and is a good height with comfortable seats. Across from gate C18.

Popped in here before a morning flight to San Francisco. The menu looked like nothing else in the terminal, or really much like I have seen in an airport! I had the Breakfast Fried Rice with turkey sausage. They give you choice of whatever meat you want in it. It was great. I would absolutely recommend hitting this place up if in this terminal.

Don't believe the other negative reviews below. This place is actually pretty decent. The service was solid and helpful, the sushi was above average, the noodle bowls/fried rice/Pad Thai were all solid. The fourth star is given BECAUSE it's in an airport (anywhere else it would being 3*).

I love good sushi, and I hate airport food. I stumbled across Sky while arriving early and having 2 hours to kill. Awesome staff at the bar, power to plug in, and some really good wines. I had a few of their special rolls and really enjoyed them. Was it pricey, YES! but was it good, YES! I am willing to pay for a nice spot that makes me feel like I am not in an airport. I

it sucks. They are very expensive but you don't see it coming. Also I remember anoter customer had to chase down the waitress to get her drink, and then the next waitress took her drink with some booze still in it. Great customer service. That lady was happy... NOT! Also it seems crowded and feels dirty. I just felt gross sitting there.

PROS: Only sushi at Philly International Airport. CONS: Overpriced everything- sushi and drinks. Rude waitresses who act like their too busy but make sure they flirt with successful businessmen. Obvious golddigging whores if you ask me. The only time in my life I gave a $1.00 tip for any service over $5.00. My last bill was $28.00 and it will surely be my last time here.

Worst Service Ever!! I have been here several times, and it was slow each time, which is not a great when you are trying to get something quick. However, my last trip here will be my last. At the quick serve counter no one would come over to take my order, so I went to the bar. After waiting for 5 minutes just for a menu, the bartender told me that I had to go to the quick serve counter AFTER she had already told me that I could gate take out from her. She also didn't apologize for the lack of service and was very argumentative for no reason. I refused to give her the satisfaction of honoring such poor customer service with my patronage.

Place sucks! $9 for a half of a wrap. I had a spicy one and it so ungodly spicy I couldn't eat it. Then I called their corporate and they never got back to me. Don't wast your money here!

Sushi is over priced and not worth it. The rice was dried out. The fish portions were skimpy. At the very least do not take from the pre-made selection.

Good service, but completely mediocre sushi--which was way too expensive to boot. I suggest you avoid this place unless you are just DYING for sushi and it's not something you can get in your own hometown. Even the dinners (my friend got beef and broccoli) were mediocre at best--and of course way overpriced.

though a nice option and looks pretty - i'd go anywhere else. went in while waiting for my flight. there were 3 other people at the bar and i sat for about 10 mins while other employees stood around wiping tables and talking on their cell phones. finally the bartender stopped off to hand me a menu and walked away before i could even order a drink. i flagged her down in the corner to order. i asked for dan dan noodles and a small hot sake which is a fairly common beverage in a sushi joint. i wanted to order sushi but thought it was way too expensive even for airport prices. after the lady went in back and microwave heated the sake for me she poured it into a wine glass. my food came quick but they were the worst noodles i had even had. they weren't even as the menu described (which is apparently a comme theme here) i drowned them in soy sauce and once again flagged the bartender down for some hot sauce, she talked on her cell in the corner the entire time i was there but for her part everytime i waved her down from across the bar she came right over. though not once in the 30-45 mins i was in there was she ever behind the bar...even when new customers came in, she came and left like the wind. expensive, not so great food and poor service - eek! me thinks not.

If you have a layover in Philly or enough time to stop at their to go area this is such a great place to dine. I normally don't have time to sit down and eat but I did today. The wait staff is great very friendly and my food came out in good time. Love the soft lounge music playing. They have Japanese Indian and Thai selections. I always pick up the seaweed salad and sat down to a plate today along with rock shrimp with green tea (they have at least four teas to choose from). I highly recommend this place to anyone passing by or through the C terminal. No time to dine, stop at their to go and grab something better than what the airline will offer you.

Service was fair. The food (chili shrimp) was above average. The ambiance is nice. Would go again.

This was the first decent airport food I ever had. Not great food if it was in town, but ok for generally dismal and overpriced airport fare. I had a fried rice, which did not actually have any kimchi as it was advertised, but that did not leave me extremely overgreased as airport food tends to do. Nice atmosphere too. Would definitely go back.

Prices are pretty steep. For these prices you expect better quality. Watch your step on the adult beverages. $18 per glass of wine. Service slow and inattentive.

Good selection. Friendly staff, although we did have to ask several times for drinks, wasabi & status on food. I won't ding them because I suspect the waitress was new. Soft shell crab app was fantastic, I fought my table mates for the last few pieces. Oyster apps were interesting as was the crawfish bowl - note, the crawfish bowl took 30+ minutes to arrive, it's prepared warm and pulled from the shell. Tower roll was my favorite, clean full of flavor & fresh.

The things I liked: -Prompt service (at first) -Sushi was a good value, $14 for black dragon rolls filled with lots of fresh fish (but then again, I am from Denver, where seafood is often lacking). -Cool atmosphere -Close proximity to US Airways flights (C gates) -Outlets all over the place to plug and my dying phone (& laptop to write this yelp review, ha!) Things I didn't like: -Servers standing around complaining about "how slow it is" in ear distance of customers -A well cocktail goes for $9, they pour decent but I felt guilty putting it on the company card so paid for it myself. Meh. -Beers range from "$7.50-$11" and there are no prices listed on the drink menu -Once the server drops your food or drink, they don't come back to see how it tastes/if you need anything else. -They eye the receipt in front of you, making you feel pressured to not linger. I understand you are at the airport, where you get what you get, but it is so annoying when businesses think it is appropriate to obviously overcharge, earning themselves seemingly outlandish margins, when in reality, it just keeps people away, that's why servers complain of it being "slow" to the point where they make it evident in front of customers by showing a lack of enthusiasm and effort while communicating to one another about how they are disgruntled.

If you have a couple of hours to kill then this is a great place to charge your phone and kill some time in Terminal C. First off, the service was beyond terrible but the food was surprisingly delicious! I started off with a coffee which was freshly brewed. The waitress gave me a bit of attitude when I asked for cream and sugar but hey it was 6am. Next, I ordered the fried rice with turkey sausage. It was so delicious and the portion was huge!!! The rice and turkey was well cooked. It is the best airport food I have ever eaten. When I finished I got bold and ordered a mimosa. It was atrocious. Seriously a waste of 12$. The service was terrible. Never once did the waitress ask me if I was doing well, never refilled water or coffee and just sat at a table near me on her phone. She kept looking at me like " Are you done yet or what?" Thank god for phone outlets and the fried rice! Three stars!

I'll be brief with my comments: a spicy tuna roll should not be sticky, chewy and/or orange.

Sushi from the airport? Questionable. Sushi from the Philly airport? Nah. The good: -Great looking spot -Outlets at every bar seat -Lots of TVs The bad: -Prices ($11 for spring rolls. $10 for 4 dumplings) -The chicken dumplings were grimey and just plain strange. -Staff was chatting about how slow it was, making no $$, etc. Come on, peeps! It's never OK to complain about your job in front of the customers... in ANY profession. In terminal C of the Philly airport? Come here to waste some time and charge your phone, just don't order what I did (or the sushi. Come on now.).

Willing to accommodate gluten free and I believe GF soy sauce is available on request. I got coconut shrimp fried rice, but it was too oily for my taste and no coconut flavor. I only ate half and the waitress said I should have told her and she could have had it remade. Her manager only let her take 10% off. So if you have a complaint, speak up and get it remade since you are unlikely to get a significant discount. Nice enough atmosphere. Would be willing to come back but would try a different dish.

A small group of us who were traveling killed time here before our flight on a Saturday afternoon. It's a restaurant but also has a nice little bar. The waitress was nice and very attentive. Although the bar was full, we felt like we were the only ones there. Although it's a small bar, there were plenty of wine and beer options. I enjoyed my experience here.

Meh, overpriced drinks: don't get suckered by the "double your cocktail for $3 more, sir?" Double looked like a single to us. $25 for 7.5 oz of nigori sake: I can buy en entire bottle for $10 or so!!! Dragon Roll: spicy tuna and a I were both so mushy the top of the roll was inedible. No texture at all! Veggie potstickers are the only reason why this is getting a 2*.

Where I sat: The bar. There's an outlet at each bar seat, which is great for a quick power charge. Service: Quick, but a little rough around the edges. Everyone was nice enough, though I did feel neglected at times. Food: Miso soup was to die for. So yummy. The Philadelphia roll and Spicy tuna roll were lacking. The salmon sashimi was suprisingly really good. Ambience: hip and very pretty.

In terminal C. Really nice restaurant for airport standards. Great atmosphere and they didn't skimp out on lovely roses on all the table. I ordered yakisoba and although it's not authentic at all it tasted good for what it was and they gave a lot of meat and veggies. The mochi ice cream dessert was super good and the presentation was lovely. I would go back.

I hate that when you are eating in the bar area this counter top is soo high u cannot even see the server while ordering Other than that the food was delicious an the server was very nice. Which i was still here when they start serving lunch as the sushi and pad thai sound amazing

For airport food this place is A-ok. Located in Terminal C, this Asian bistro has everything from sushi, to satay to mongolian beef. There are tons of tables and the bar area is lined with outlets (with USB). I had a simple Chicken Teriyaki and a Tiger Beer, that was tasty. It was a bit pricey, but then that is airport food for you! I would recommend this as a nice place to sit, charge up and get a meal.

If you're surprised about the prices at an airport joint you either just crawled out of a cave from a twenty year hibernation or you have the IQ of a Styrofoam peanut! Enough with bitching about the prices already and let's move on. Why Oh why do you stop at an airport eatery/drinkery? 1. YOU NEED TO CHARGE YOUR PHONE! This place is perfect for that. The bar is lined with an unbelievable number of outlets. Just watch the patrons smile as they see them. You will to. 2. YOUR FLIGHT HAS BEEN DELAYED/CANCELLED AND YOU DESPERATELY NEED AN ADULT LIBATION OR TWO OR THREE! These folks have got you covered with beer, wine and specialty drinks. 3. YOU'LL DIE UNLESS YOU SEE THE CURRENT WORLD CUP, BASEBALL, FOOTBALL, BASKETBALL OR WHATEVER GAME! Not a problem here as there are plenty of good quality screens. 4. IT SURE WOULD BE NICE TO EAT SOMETHING OTHER THAN FAST FOOD! Try the Breakfast Fried Rice ($10) with your choice of meat. Vegetarian also if you lean that way. Absolutely delicious. If you are in Terminal C you should give these folks a shot.

I'm going to give Sky Asian Bistro four stars on a sliding scale. I travel a lot, and this is probably the best or second best airport food I've ever had. Fish is fresh, rice is good, they'll make rolls and sushi fresh for you, and people seem like they're having a good time here. There's a fun cocktail list and surprisingly fresh salads (no wilted lettuce, etc.). I'm not sure why people ding this restaurant a star or two. I recommend it for casual, non-traditional sushi.

I've been to this restaurant several ones when traveling to Philly for business. Out out all airports, I really fee the quality of food and service at this establishment beats any competition. The Pad Thai is absolutely delicious. It's moist and mouthwatering, with hints of spice. You can choose two different proteins (chicken or shrimp). The sushi is also top notch, fresh, and crisp components to settle any appetite! Highly recommended.

  • Opal D.

[gag] the fish was not fresh. I eat sushi and sashimi on a weekly basis in Seattle, and the stuff they served here, I had to douse it in soy sauce in order to get past the smell! Disgusting! I do not recommend Sky Asian Bistro.

  • Christina L.

First off, this place is located an airport, fine. But airport food or not, this is still the first time I've ever had Pad Thai that's spicy! It tastes more citrusy and tangy than what I was prepared for. And this is the first time my Pad Thai didn't include bean sprouts. It had bell peppers, chicken, red chili flakes, scrambled egg, carrots, onions, peanuts, and lime. Good portion, but it costs $14 or so. Again, airport food - it's expected to be expensive. I chose this dish because it was the most popular based on observation, but personally, I say PASS! I didn't try the Kobe Burger, but the fries were spicy. You can see red chili flakes all over! What's up with this place making everything spicy?? The burger was thick in the middle from the surprisingly huge piece of Kobe beef and tempura bacon - that's right, deep fried bacon! FAT on FAT on FAT. Of course it tastes good, but it's terrible for your health! The burger was $15 or so.

The very best food you'll get in the whole airport! If you have the time, stop in! Much better than the big bag of nothing you'll get on your cramped flight! Sushi you can trust!

My palate has tried many gyoza dumplings but Sky Asian's fried pork potstickers are the BEST. These dumplings are homemade and filled with ground pork, watercress, ginger and other mouthwatering ingredients. All of my senses were delighted by these delicious dumplings. Sky Asian is located in Terminal F at Philidelphia airport.

  • Julie E.

The Pad Thai was really tasty, and I can't believe I only paid $14 for it. This would have earned a positive review from me if it were a restaurant in downtown, so given it's in the airport where food is usually awful and overpriced, I'm simply blown away.

Very Americanized Asian cuisine. I would eat here again but I wasn't impressed. When I eat asian food I want it to be authentic otherwise I would ha e has american food.

Its sushi in an airport. 'Nough said. Service is somewhat slow and bizarre. You think they are going to take your order, and they don't come. Then they show up. OK sushi, maybe closer to what you can get at a supermarket. But its there, and its relatively low cal if you chose wisely and you don't feel like overloading on anything (you won't want to overload here - price and taste make it hard to want to). Not the worst sushi, but certainly not even close to third best. Or fifth...

I was on my way from a work trip to spend Saturday with the fam when I heard my least favorite words "flight cancelled." I immediately dialed my friends at United (sadly I know the # by heart) and begged to be put on a new flight. Unfortunately, I was out of luck on United for that day, but they hooked me up on a US Air flight later that day. I had a few hours to spare and made my way to the US Air terminal, which is ten times better than the United terminal. At this point I realized it was 4pm and all I had eaten all day was an unappetizing Auntie Anne's pretzel (pretty much the only option in the United Terminal). And that's when I saw Sky Asian Bistro. The sushi was saying "eat me. eat me," but I'm skeptical of sushi made in an airport. I played in safe and went with veggie dumplings and fried rice instead. It totally hit the spot and for about three minutes all my anger towards United was forgotten. I scarfed down my food, but then spent another hour or so catching up on work at their bar. The waitresses were super friendly and didn't rush me at all. Hopefully your experiences at the Philly airport turn out better than mine, but if you find yourself with some spare time Sky Asian Bistro is one of the better airport restaurants I've discovered.

A really solid place located in The C Terminal at The Philly Airport. A bit pricey, but what do you expect from a restaurant located at the airport...add to it Sushi and voila. I sat at the bar with power sources all around. Huge bonus with delayed flights that seem to be the norm in Philly. The sushi looked great, but I passed this time in favor of the Seafood Raman Soup. Not bad, but I wish it had a little more kick. I didn't see any Rooster Sauce floating around, but my fault that I didn't ask. Great, quick service with a real nice selection of beers. I will definitely return.

Excellent staff, GREAT bartender and amazing service. The selection here is pretty darn good and my meal was amazing - had the Kobe burger - heaven and cooked just the way a burger should be cooked! The only reason this place doesn't get a 5 star was the ice tea was incredible horrible. My server didn't charge me for it and quickly got me something else. But if it wasn't for the horrible tea - I'd give a five star. There was plenty of places to sit and plug in as well - something that airport could do a better job of.

Ate here while waiting on a flight, of course. Only chose this place as I saw the power outlets lined up along the bar. The food was great -- about $16 for a burger and fries (menu didn't even tell me fries came with the sandwich so it was a pleasant surprise). Nice, friendly staff and pretty wait staff which must be by design haha.

My experience started well but went downhill throughout. I started pleasantly surprised that they had wines for under $10 a glass, which is a rarity in airports these days. However, the quantity justified the price...if my glass of wine was 5 oz., it was 5 oz. by a milliliter! Then came service...a little slow but no big deal. However (and I know this is a personal bias, so take it as such), being served Asian food by, ummmm, let's say ladies of South Philly just lacks a certain authenticity (picture Rocky's Mom...with lots of ink). They were pleasant enough, but just seemed out of their element. Then came the food...I don't think I've seen more sloppily constructed sushi in my life...the rolls were literally falling apart...apparently they haven't quite mastered the skill of sticky rice preparation. Additionally, everything lacked flavor...even the wasabi! Lastly, they made one roll (the spider - soft shell crab) so big...probably about a two inch diameter...yet cut it so thin...that even if it was well constructed to begin with, it would still have fallen apart...and every piece of roll fell apart...so I ended up eating a lot of soy-soaked rice out of my soy dish. Love the look of the place...want to continue to encourage them to succeed, cause PHL needs this place to be good...but they need to work on a whole bunch of fundamentals before they get to improve their rating.

Damn, your black and pink Sakura design really caught my attention. I appreciate that sushi is an airport option besides junk food and heavy pub fare. Service was friendly and prompt since I was sat at the bar. Bonus point for having conveniently electrical outlets for bar patrons. I was careful not to spill my drink. I got their daily specials. Dancing Eel roll: shrimp tempura, avocado, mango, topped with unagi and ponzu. It was ok, and hit the spot, but not worth the $20 price tag. The server also mentioned some filet mignon dish. If you're not into sushi or sashimi, then go for a noodle or rice dish. They looked pretty good from my view of the cooking station. The drink, Sky Punch, was a froo froo concoction that the Wifey would be ok drinking. For me, it tasted premade or just lacked the wallop compared to other $12 crafty, high octane cocktails. I guess I had way too much time on my layover between flights to finish this review. I would stop by Sky Asian Bistro again, but order something different.

A nice alternative to airport food. A bit confusing as you seat yourself. The service is adequate at best. I ordered the shrimp stirfry at $20.00. A tad on the salty side and honestly not worth it. The ramen noodle bowl was wierd as they forgot the ramen. The waitress fixed the order. It was also salty. The pad thai was fair. We opted out on the sushi just to play it safe. Airport sushi?..... not so much All in all, it got us through before we had to board our next plane. The wait staff was in no hurray so keep an eye on them.

I can't speak for the sushi because I only ordered the ramen and some mint tea but I can tell you that the ramen was pretty good and not a bad price for airport food. They offer a pork ramen and a spicy seafood ramen but they were able to accommodate my request for a spicy pork ramen - I'm so glad I asked. I love spicy ramen but wasn't feeling the seafood. My only complaint was they put a hard boiled egg in the ramen instead of a poached egg and I definitely missing the running yolk but again... as far as airport good goes - I really can't complain too much! Not a bad way to spend part of my three hour layover in Philly.

Not great sushi, but it hit the spot anyways. The nori's a little tough, the chef who made our plate was squeezing too hard (finger indentations in both the nigiri and maki). The tamago (egg) was a bit watery for my taste. There's several large TV screens on each wall --- fine if you want to watch the funniest YouTube animal video of the day, less good if you're trying to unwind and relax between flights. Still, this is an airport sushi-and-bar; the sushi's better than it was on the the other end of the plane flight, and the service was attentive without being annoying. So not stellar, but fit the bill for the day.

I'd probably give it a three and half. I had the pork gyoza (4 good size dumplings) and spicy salmon roll (6 pieces) while I waited for a flight. The gyoza were delicious and I could've eaten ten of them alone. I was in the mood for sushi so the salmon roll hit the spot but was nothing exceptional. Service was great -- very quick and efficient while not lacking any friendliness. About ~23 bucks before tip, but what can you do?

Yes please!

SMH.

This airport sushi bar is better than most. The rolls are big, with good quality fish. On the downside, two rolls can cost over $25.

The fourth star is given BECAUSE it's in an airport (anywhere else it would being 3*).

Great atmosphere. Equally great service. When you go be sure to try the yakuza roll, it will be memorable.

[gag] the fish was not fresh. I eat sushi and sashimi on a weekly basis in Seattle, and the stuff they served here, I had to douse it in soy sauce in order to get past the smell! Disgusting! I do not recommend Sky Asian Bistro.

Bumping loud lesbian jazz club music, and food is WAY overpriced. Go to the wine bistro or jet rock instead.

The Pad Thai here is very good, in fact it is some of the best I have had. I would post a pic but just had to eat the complete dish.

The Pad Thai was really tasty, and I can't believe I only paid $14 for it. This would have earned a positive review from me if it were a restaurant in downtown, so given it's in the airport where food is usually awful and overpriced, I'm simply blown away.

Great bowl of ramen for $13.00. Much better than the regular pizza, burger, salads, etc. that maked eating at the airport such a boring experience.
