The best sushi ever. Ichiban and Godzila rolls are out of this world. Great BYOB place

It's been a Paoli staple for years, but has changed a lot over the past two years. Different faces appear when you show up. The service is off. The food quality is down. Having dined at wabi for many years, I hope they can turn it around.

What a true Gem! A great Japanese Steakhouse. Myself, my husband, and our son decided on Hibachi. It was wonderful, I had the Chicken & Shrimp, my husband had Filet & Shrimp, our son had the Filet & Red Snapper, all were delicious and start off with a nice salad with that deliciously amazing creamy ginger dressing, fried rice and shrimp appetizer. Our Chef Sam was outstanding and so was the nice and attentive staff. We surely will return to this great establishment. Give Wabi Sabi a try you will not be disappointed! They have a great menu of Japanese Cuisine and Chinese Cuisine. It's Highly Recommended.

Ok...just your ordinary wasabi restaurant. Nothing special except that if you want Chinese, the other part of the restaurant serves Chinese

This is the third hibachi place I have tried since moving to PA and they are all so mediocre! My daughter and I came during the week and it was dead. We were the only 2 at the hibachi table. The cook was very nice and would make jokes with my daughter. The food was average...not bad but not great either. The server was very quiet and a little creepy. I'm just glad I used a BOGO coupon from the Entertainment book. That was an odd coupon too. It was BOGO for the hibachi dinners only but the max value was $12. All of the dinners were $18 or more. So, not really free, huh? I wouldn't go back. I tried it and could have loved it. But I didn't.

2 - 3 star sushi (and teppanyaki/hibachi tables in the back) with over-load of sauces (get the sauce on the side) and mediocre fish. Seemed fresh enough but obviously frozen tamago and others. I actually got sick after I ate it. This might go to a 1 star review if I can figure out for sure that my gastric distress was from the fish. Not a holy grail - but for $8.95 ($1 extra for ONE specialy maki) for the 2 maki lunch - with Miso Soup and Salad - it's OK. I had a yellowtail scallion roll and the "Rose" roll - spicy tuna inside with tuna on top. Not Great. In my opinion, Sushi Nami down the street is better. And the place was so cold inside. (Hot green tea helped warm us up.)

I almost didn't want to give this place a chance at first and I'll tell you why. So there is a lot more sushi competition nearby now, especially since Wegmans opened and Sushi Nami opened, along with other local places. I had been here once before years ago and liked it. I decided to give them a lunch try today just because. I looked for the sushi lunch special. They offer two rolls from a select list for $8.95 with soup and salad. They let you substitute a specialty roll from another select list for $1 more. But the menu is confusing because they write it as "rolls" making me think that you could make two substitutions for $2 more. Nope, I was told I could only substitute one. It's not clear on the menu. I was slightly disappointed. So at this point, leaving here and going up the street to Sushi Nami crossed my mind because there I could get the 3 roll deal for $11.95. I knew I could fill up there. I don't mind spending a couple more bucks. I just like getting more value for it. But I decided to stay, and I went for their special. Chose a spicy tuna roll, and a Wabi Sabi roll, which had both salmon and spicy tuna with crab stick and avocado. The deal was $9.95. I now see their side of it. The opportunity to get one specialty roll like the Wabi Sabi at lunch for $9.95 with the other additions is worth it. As far as the overall quality of the sushi, it's as good as anything I've had. That Wabi Sabi roll was bigger than I thought it would be and satisfied me more than I thought. The flavor combo was perfect for my tastes. The spicy tuna roll itself could be a little more spicy for my tastes, but still very good. Salad and soup both had quality flavor. I have no complaints. To think I almost left, and they won me over. Well played, Wabi Sabi. Well played!

This is a japanese and chinese restaurant. I often get their lunch specials and they are a better value than their regular dinner menu. Food is typically of good quality and they have a variety of options to please an office where people like very different things. We will continue to get take out from here and I would recommend this place to others, especially for lunch.

I ordered takeout of soup and eggrolls. the eggrolls were soooooo greasy there was 1/2 " of grease at the bottom of the little bag they were in~ in addition to the grease that seaped through the paper delivery bag. the soup was good, when i picked it up i asked if there was a spoon with soup and was told, "yes"....nope, no spoon inside. The greasiness of the eggrolls was the 2nd and last time that has happened...i'm done with Wabi Sabi, there are other more consistent and better restaurants in the local area.

I've been to Wabi Sabi a handful of times. I want to give this place the benefit of the doubt since both the Chinese and Japanese food is fine, but the service is terrible. The last time I was there, our party of five waited fifteen minutes for glasses of water. The waitress messed up our order twice, first bringing out the wrong dish, and then bringing out an extra sushi roll that she claimed we ordered. The waitress didn't return to refill our waters and I ended up going to the service station to get the water pitcher myself. I asked twice for spicy sauce and never got it. We also wanted plates for our entrees, but we gave up on the idea.

They have excellent sushi, especially the Wabi Sabi roll. While the food is outstanding, the service is at best okay. Do not go here if you are in a hurry. However, if you are looking for an evening affair, the food is worth the wait. Pro-tip: To get the awesome food without the wait, order pick-up.

A very nice surprise in the food desert. We're vegetarian and ordered the edamame, Agedashe tofu, Mock General Tso's, and Mock Chicken with Peanuts. The Agedashe and the Mock Chicken were lightly battered tofu, delicately fried. Very tasty. The Mock General is very well done fried seitan. The sauces were not too heavy or sweet. They didn't overwhelm you with too much rice on the side. We'll definitely be going back to try more from the vegetarian menu.

Absolutely awful experience. We sat at dinner with our 3 children. All of us got our meals except my son. We asked 3 different servers about our missing dish. Then our waitress avoided us once she figured something went wrong with the order. Then 10 min after the rest of us finished our meals, they said "the kitchen was too busy and were just starting it" with no apology. Then my husband said cancel it b/c we already waited so long. The bill comes, they don't take the dish they never served us off the bill and basically comped us for nothing. I then wanted to speak with a manager and they said "we gave you discount!" Um, if a meal is complete and you never get the dish I don't think that's "a discount." I then explained "I know accidents happen but we asked 3 different people who never checked back with us." They then just ignored us and we left. Now we are headed home and my son watched us all eat for an hour without ever getting anything to eat.

Sushi isn't bad at all. I really liked the American Dream with avocado, shrimp tempura and eel and the spicy king crab roll (love the crunch!). I wouldn't put them on the same par as Bluefin or Ajihei but it's a good option for sushi if you are close by. They also have Chinese but I have never tried that. Service was very fast.

Don't go. It is hit & miss (mostly miss). When you have tempanaki the cooks don't know what they are doing. We were a party of 8. 2 people shared a meal & the rest ordered their own. The cook totally ignored 5 of us & gave the two who ordered full meals & skimped on the 5 others. He did not ask me how I wanted my strip steak & dad not care when after he was done cooking it I kept shouting rare Thumbs down for Wabi Sabi. I would not recommend it to anyone

The service was good, but i was disappointed with their lunch menu. Their sushi was way over priced so we didn't even bother ordering any. Nice feel to the restaurant but no music. I felt like all the customers could listen to what i was talking about. Good bento box prices though. Maybe just stick to take out.

Wabi Sabi is kindof like two restaurants in one. When you walk in, you're asked if you're here for Chinese or Hibachi. We were seated in the regular Chinese section. It's nice that you can order alcohol, the house Pinot Nior was decent. For dinner I had miso soup, a salad and two sushi rolls. The miso soup and salad were average. The Spicy King King Crab Maki was very tasty, although it wasn't spicy at all. The shrimp and cucumber roll was ok. I probably wouldn't order that again, it didn't taste like much. The atmosphere is ok, except for all the cheers and yelling coming over from the hibachi area. Not where I would take a date for a quiet romantic dinner. Being relatively close to my house, I would probably come back here for takeout in the future. For dining in I prefer East Cuisine in Ambler.

Wabi-Sabi is a Japanese steakhouse and sushi bar, open seven days a week. There's lots of seating and they're pleasantly decorated. Their menu offers a lot of plates, including hibachi, sashimi, teriyaki, and tempura. They serve Chinese cuisine too, but I've only had their Japanese dishes. Last I was here, I had their beef and scallops with vegetables which were delicious. Since it was lunchtime, I didn't get any cocktails (sake is also available). Service is fast. Recommended for a tasty, reasonably-priced lunch. Find them on Route 30 in Paoli.

A Wednesday night at 6:30 and there was only 1 other table. We started with the cucumber and avocado roll, sweet potato maki, and Paoli roll. The first two were edible and standard fare, but then we got to the Paoli roll - a "special" roll, which was supposed to have yellow tail, scallion, spicy sauce & tempura on the outside. It turned out to be a mushy, slimy mess that smell and tasted like canned cat food. We had to put a plate over it to get it out of sight/mind. Also shared the mango chicken, which was bland and contained the "usual suspect" chinese chicken. Those thinly cut, curled slices of mystery meat. A total waste of $40 and we left hungry. Will certainly be avoiding this restaurant in the future.

Loved the food. Great service there. A nice, kind greeting. Just simple a great place to eat hibachi, Chinese food, and sushi. And the price was decent. Not too expensive.

The lunch special was OK. Not much going on here on a quiet Saturday afternoon. The Bento Box was good, alot of food for 11 bux. I also added a King Crab Sushi Roll which was just OK. My wife enjoyed a few veggie rolls which were just average. Overall Average sums up this place and my experience here.

Sushi was decent, however for the price you don't get much for your money. An $11 maki will only be 5 pieces.

This place was just alright. The Tuna tartar was really good but that was about it. The service was sub par and the cost was more then my usual sushi run. Unless someone makes me i don't think i am gonna go back.

Low key atmosphere & brisk, friendly service. I really enjoyed the American Dream sushi roll, and the Sezchuan Seafood Basket was pleasing to the eye and quite yummy to boot. Overall a pleasant experiance. I'll definitely be back!

I was very excited about trying a new (atleast to me) sushi place... the review's of Wabi Sabi seemed very positive.... so Sushi day! Unfortunately it wasn't all that... Good not great. The staff was very friendly... we hit a slow time (after right around 5pm... Saturday), service was still slow. decor is dated, you feel like it's the type of place your parents would have taken you to... not really old.. but dated.. We started with edamame.. it was ok.. nothing to write home about.. (actually we made better edamame at home...) They did have marble sodas! Then we ordered some sushi, the sushi was good.. Hamachi - Yellow Tail Suzuki - Sea Bass Tai - Red snapper Amaebi - Sweet shrimp Uni - sea urchin These where actually really good, we also ordered a vegetable tempura for the member of our party that doesn't do sushi the tempura was really really good.. i may say one of the best........ The Okanowa roll - was amazing.. i can't remember what all was in it on it.. but it was served and presented in an excellent fashion.. if that was all i got.. this may be have been a 5 star! Godzilla roll - ok, nothing special.. a little over "tempura'd"... which is funny since the vegetable and shrimp tempura was really good... Tuna lovers roll -- was so not worth it.. i mean how can you go wrong with a roll with tuna / avocado inside, and spicy tuna outside.. well they found a way to make it not exciting.... all in all it was ok, not the best in the area, don't think we will be back soon due to all the other great locations...

The best sushi I've ever had. EVER. I've done the overpriced sushi other places and nothing compares... even remotely. I work in one of the offices above the subway section of the strip and I'm here at least once a week for lunch. The owner knows my name by what I order and sometimes hooks me up with an extra salad or spring roll. The GreenBay Roll and Pink Lady are TO DIE FOR. I've dined in before as well and the waiters/waitresses are extremely attentive and very sweet. Everything is fresh and tasty, quick, and aesthetically pleasing. Great date night spot as well as quick lunch on a work day. I'd give this place 100 stars if I could!

Wabi Sabi is located in a strip mall; it's a bit recessed from the K-mart next door so look out for it when you're driving down the street. This establishment is owned by a Chinese family so more than half of the items on the menu are Chinese dishes. The dining area was really cold, I don't think they're big on heaters... The sushi rolls were recession price friendly, nice quality and bigger than expected. We ordered: -Wasabi Shumai: Normally I wouldn't order shumai unless it was for dim sum but it sounded interesting. This shumai packs a mean punch and is worth a try. Careful because I wasn't ready for the punch and coughed up some shumai over my rolls. Attractive, I know. -Samurai Roll: Which consisted of Spicy tuna, salmon and avocado with 4 different kinds/colors of caviar outside. It looked so pretty I didn't want to disturb it. -Paoli roll: can't go wrong if your roll has spicy yellowtail in it! -Spicy tuna roll: we ordered this with tobiko (caviar) and they just scooped it out and piled it onto the roll. This got pretty messy. -Kirin Light beer, My favorite Japanese beer priced at $4 a bottle. Overall the rolls were great and I was happy to discover a new sushi place where I don't have to pay an arm and a leg for. So why the 3 stars? I came by an hour before closing and the waitress kindly put the bill on our table. My friend and I paid the bill + tip and continued to finish our Kirin Light. The waitress took the bill + her tip, put on her jacket and left. Since we still had a glass of beer to finish, we sat there to finish it off and 30 seconds later the hostess came by to say 'We are closed". Her and another waiter stood right next to us and stared at us. AWKWARD! WHAT? I'm not sure if that has ever happened to me. It was definitely the cue to leave. When I got into my car, I saw that it was only 10:13. In their defense, I guess don't know who the ruder couple was: my friend and I who were trying to finish our beers a minute after closing or the workers/owner who rushed us out.

Great Hibachi with lots of sauce choices and flavors, along with huge sushi rolls.

Sushi is so-so. But for the price, you can get much better sushi elsewhere. Spider roll was not crunchy and for $10.95, we only got 5 really thin pieces. Volcano roll tasted good, but again, only 5 pieces. The spicy tuna was not spicy at all. I would give it a 3 if they weren't so stingy on the amount of sushi they gave.

BEST SUSHI in the area. I have been to all of the sushi restaurants in the main line/delco area, and this is the one I keep coming back to. The quality of sushi as well as the quantity is really great. I've never done the hibachi thing here, but it's available, as well as a full menu of options for non-sushi lovers. Excellent service, moderately priced drinks... all around my favorite place to eat.

  • Frank R.

Excellent place with 3 options -- sushi, Chinese or Hibachi. I've tried all of them. I've enjoyed the sushi very much. We get carryout Chinese from them once a week...always consistent, always good. And the hibachi...it's fun, as you would expect. The restaurant is very comfortable, with different areas for the different types of food. (Yeah, I know that makes sense for the hibachi.) Very nice place...and the prices are very good too.

Yum. Really good sushi. Rice is perfect, not too vinegary like at some restaurants so the flavor of the rolls really shine through.

  • Eugene H.

Generous portions for their sushi! The quality and quantity of the sushi is excellent for what you pay for. They also have a hybrid menu of Japanese hibachi and Chinese food. The hibachi and Chinese food is average, but so far it's the best sushi place in the area that I've tried.

  • Fran T.

Great place for sushi. The chicken katsu was top notch - all white meat chicken, great crust and tasty sauce! The place is really big inside which was really surprising...(ps... one reviewer said it was close to a k-mart, which is misleading. Look for a CVS instead. )

  • Kristen G.

I like this place for many reasons - the food is consistent, the rolls are rich, nothing that I've ordered has been too greasy or heavy, and the employees are super friendly and ply me with salads and strange asian drinks. I mainly do takeout, and they're very fast. I wouldn't reccomend the sashimi as they cut it too thick and it's sort of gross in that regard.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
