My family went to Piccolo Trattoria for Mothers Day and we were very pleased! The food was outstanding, the prices were reasonable, and the staff very friendly. We plan to go back for a date night as well!

GOOD Brooklyn style pizza....delightful dinner music on Friday night...good value and sizeable portions!! We couldn't believe what our bill for 6 adults came to....only $83 plus a nice tip for our waitress!!! BYOB! Be sure to "check in" with Yelp and get your free dessert, another added bonus!! Nice local Newtown family place.

Just got back from Piccolo Trattoria and I gotta say, I am impressed! You see, I am a pizza connoisseur and I have traveled far and wide searching for great pizza. My favorite pizza is DeLorenzo's tomato pie in Trenton on Hamilton St. The thing is, it's not always possible to get out there when the pizza itch strikes. Normally, I head over to Aldo's for their Brooklyn-style pizza but I go mainly because it's so convenient. This evening I checked Yelp and was surprised to see Piccolo Trattoria getting some pretty awesome reviews... how could this place be down the street from me yet I've never been there? We ordered their sausage and broccoli rabe appetizer and the Brooklyn style pizza. I really liked the app. The broccoli rabe appeared to be steamed rather than sautéed which resulted in a much more firmer stalk than what I am used to preparing. Regardless, I enjoyed it and would order it again. The Brooklyn style pizza looked gorgeous! The crust was thin and crunchy and everything was fresh. I am pretty sure they crushed the tomatoes themselves. Would I say this is the best pizza ever? No. Although, right now, I would say it's the best pizza in Newtown. I will be back. And I almost forgot, we also ordered a canolli. Very good.

The food is fantastic here! I was a regular with my family nearly 6-8 years ago and hadn't been back all that time. (Merely because I moved out of the area) I was finally able to return and had an amazing dinner with friends! I ordered my regular.. gnocchi in alfredo sauce .. still delicious and just how I remembered it!

Upping my star rating as they've become much more pleasant at the counter. I love that they have a coupon system for loyalty. Thank you for that!

Excellent food and service. The Brooklyn pie is out of this world. We go almost every Friday. Great options vs. the normal pizza parlors.

MANAGEMENT NEEDS TO STEP IT UP. Ordered take-out. When i arrived, there was no one at the take-out counter. I called out and one of the pizza makers said someone will be there shortly. It took awhile, but finally when the take-out guy came out, another customer behind me pushed ahead and complained that he did not order this entree - he was handing back a take-out styrofoam. The take-out guy shrugged and said "ok" and took it back. Well, turns out that THAT was one of my entrees. No apologies, he just included it with the rest of my order. I asked him to read back the order to me - to avoid any mistakes. The order was correct and I paid for it. 15 minutes later - the time it took me to get home - the second entree was WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I ordered Founder Francese, and instead got some stuffed shrimp! My husband is allergic to shellfish! It was too late to have to turn around, return it and go back home. We threw it out. We will not be returning. Very poor management, and food was just so-so.

I would not even give this place 1 star, but I guess Yelp makes it mandatory to select a rating. We have been to the Piccolo Trattoria in Pennington, NJ, which I have to say is GREAT! However, it is a little further from where we live, so instead we decided to try the branch in Newtown, PA. What a HUGE MISTAKE! We were welcoming home a relative who lives out of state, so we had a large party of 20. We arrived early and were terribly disappointed with the size of the restaurant, it was VERY small so we knew we were going to be crowded. They put two large tables next to each other, each table seating 10 people. It was half booth on one side and chairs on the other side, which was next to the aisle. It was so crowded and busy in the restaurant that our family members who were seated on that side of the table said they felt like they were eating on the highway! It was utterly ridiculous! Other than that, the wiat staff was HORRIBLE! I mean VERY HORRIBLE!!!!!! We will never go back to that branch just because of the terrible service. The food is delicious, I really enjoyed it, but it was hard to fully have a good time, because it was so crowded and the waiters we had were so unattentive, it was unbearable! It took over 45 minutes for someone to come to our table to fill our water glasses, let alone take a drink order. The food took forever to arrive at our tables and the kids meals were last to come out! That is simply un-heard of! Who in their right mind brings out the kids meals last?!?!! I was extremely annoyed and the waitress gave me a dumb smile and said "I don't know where the chickin fingers are? I just checked on them." I was at my wits end and told my family to make sure this was reflected in the tip. Thankfully, although our party was large, they did not add on the gratuity, but let tell you, if they had, I would have fought it! We never ever tip lower than 20%, but we made an exception here, we had to! We had to pay part in cash and the rest of 2 different credit cards. Again, the waitress looked at us like we were crazy... as if that had never been asked of before. On our way out of the restaurant, she had the NERVE to call us to the front desk and question us if we had left enough money!!!! We were furious! How dare she?!!?? Again, we will never go back there, at least not with a large party. If they could not accomodate us, which they clearly COULD NOT, then they should have suggested we come for lunch or another day! It is a shame really, because I really do love the food... I guess we will just have to make the trip to Pennington, NJ to that branch, but it will be worth it. NO for NEWTOWN!

Piccolo has 3 locations - Pennington NJ has outdoor dining and gets less crowded. I printed their coupon here and saved $10 off our dinner: neighborhoodpromos.com/p…

This place has great food, and great desserts. The space is a little tight during dinner but it is a great byob, and great for take-out. Great pizza, ok subs, but the italian entrees are outstanding and so are the desserts.

Upon entering Piccolo's you immediately pick up the much anticipated fragrance of homemade Italian cuisine. Being able to scope the place we had no wait before we were happily greeted. This restaurant is in two halves nicely decorated with just the right ambiance. Since it was a Tuesday evening, maybe a quarter full to capacity we were taken to the furthest, smallest table right by the open kitchen. Our music was the clatter of pots and pans and the wait staff station happened to be right behind me. Our waiter greeted us in a timely manner and most pleasant. We gladly listened to the evenings specials and that is where it started going down hill for me. There was so many specials and with a heavy Italian fast speaking accent, I had no idea what was said. (Much rather see them written with the prices.) My companion and I noticed the prices were not as affordable as advertised. Before we made our final selection we were asked if we were ready to place our order only once before we were. You have a choice of soup or salad with your entree. Fresh rolls were served, one for each of us. No comment....... Dinner was served with very nice portions. The food was fresh. The bus boy did refill the water once but could not wait to clear the table before we were through eating on several attempts. What's with that???? Would I go back? M a y b e. Maybe not, but not in a hurry.

Dont judge this place b/c of location! I was concerned because it was in a strip next to a Grocery story... But like a lot of the goodies around here (christines and carluccis) location isnt everything Ate a New Years Eve dinner with my wife and enjoyed the "home cooking" style. Fried calamari were fresh and plentiful, gnochi al fredo and chicken Parmesan were good size portions and tasty. Sauce is a little peppery, not my fav, but a very good meal. It's BYOB... So be prepared! Dessert was delicious, and overall a very nice experience. Probably a little pricey for what it was, but no regrets.

    amazing brooklyn pie!!!

  • CC C.

Seriously, the Brooklyn Pie is my new fave pizza on the planet. Fresh mozzarella, fresh basil, super thin crust. Incidentally, my second favorite is L&B's Spumoni Garden's (since 1939) Sicilian (2725 86th St. Brooklyn, NY). Imagine the pie that could take down New York's best pizza? I go to the Pennington location - 800 R Denow Road Pennington, NJ . Telephone 609 737 9050.

  • Kim H.

Agreed!! Definitely don't judge this place by the location. From the outside, it looks like merely a hole-in-the-wall pizza shop, but it really isn't! Really good italian food, any maybe the best crab-stuffed mushroom EVER. Seriously, try it. It's a BYOB which is cool and saves you a lot of $, too!

  • Elijah K.

Delicious specialty slice - buffalo mozzarella, basil, sauce. Very bad regular slice - bitter sauce and a thick layer of flavorless cheese. Garlic knots tasted like raw dough. Now that Acme sucks too I can't even claim convenience.

  • Will C.

Disappointment! I had to try the Brooklyn pie after seeing the pics on yelp. It was OK at best. Good ingredients with mediocre execution. The guy at the cash register had ZERO personality and the woman that took the order seemed disinterested. The guy acted like he was doing me a favor by letting me pay for their food. Maybe the two got in an argument that night which would explain the poor attitudes so I may give it one more try one day, but until then this place gets 1 star...3 stars for the pizza and minus 2 for the service. When out in the burbs I don't expect the best food but expect the service to be polite and friendly especially when you are putting out food that is ALMOST on par with the local competition.

    (1)
  • Hope W.

Brooklyn pie is out of this world. However their service is incredibly slow, both when eating in or taking out. And they often mess up take-out orders. Maybe now that the new restaurant is open they can focus on improving their customer service.

We tried the full menu and specials after having the pizza here. The Brooklyn and other specialty pizzas are worth the drive for. THATS IT. To say this place should stick to pizza is sound advice. It all went downhill with the antipasti salad for the table in which the grilled eggplant and zucchini were charred! Yuk. The pasta in the pasta fagioli was seemingly a day old and melted into a mushy broth substance when it hit your tounge. We Ordered the seafood special. The tomato sauce was an odd combo of sauces and was not red like I expected of fresh tomato sauce, and the lobster tail was like chewing a shoe after months in a freezer. Scallops were not fresh either and seemingly cut in half width to maximize revenue per plate. Mussels however were good. My wife asked at dinner how La Stalla competes? There's a reason La Stalla does not lose business to newcomers like Piccolo. For pizza only, come to Piccolo, for fresh Italian dishes and fresh homemade sauce, La Stalla cannot be beat with any other Italian in Newtown area, sans pizza.

We love their Brooklyn pie! Their pizza is great. But when we decided to visit them for a dining experience, we were very disappointed. The waiter was all business. Our drinks came and there was a fruitfly in my OJ and curdled whipped cream in hot cocoa. He said that's what whipped cream does. But did return with a smaller glass of OJ. Food was OK, not as good as we expected. Hoping that it was just an off and busy day. We will try again for dinner, and will keep coming back for the Brooklyn. But the kinks in breakfast need to be worked out.

Great italian food and great pizza, as well as a great selection of pasta, chicken and seafood dishes. I have been coming here a lot and the staff is very friendly and I've never had any problem with the service. Additionally, the place was recently renovated and now looks very nice!

Went here with some good friends who live in newtown. They rave about the pizza and say its a great place for takeout. We all ordered regular entrees. My gnocchi was homemade and the actual dumplings themselves were good. The pesto sauce though was too oily and not overly flavorful. The sea bass my friend ordered was a small portion but it was very good. The pasta entrees the ladies ordered were solidly average to above average. The decor is nice - it's a good atmosphere for a casual Italian dinner. I would eat here again although I would order differently. The bathrooms only fit one person at a time, which creased my pregnant wife. I checked in to get a free dessert - which was okay but a bit pricey at seven dollars. Although thanks to our good friends at yelp in was zero dollars. So that was nice.

Piccolo has been our go to place for pizza and sandwiches for takeout and delicious meals since they opened. That's why my husband and sons called on Piccolo to cater a surprise birthday party for me at our home. As expected, everything was delicious, and people kept asking where the food was from. It was delivered on time and the people who brought the food did all of the setting up and made sure my husband was happy with everything. The people at the restaurant and the people who delivered to our home were always nice and a pleasure to deal with. Chicken parmigiana, chicken piccata, penne vodka and baked ziti, grilled vegetable paninis, buffalo wings, Brooklyn pie, margherita pizza and plain pizza, salad, roll and garlic knots. We will definitely continue to go to Piccolo and use them again for any of our catering needs!

  • Frank K.

Poor experience dining. Place was loud. Waiter was rushed. Had an entertainer there-not sure why. Entrees were pedestrian at best. Pistachio encrusted salmon came up woefully short. Over done with limited encrusting. My entree which included a medley of salmon and shrimp over a bed of linguini was bland. Even the soup tasted like it came right of a can. Just a bad experience. Disappointing since we have had many good meals here. We will take a break from here.

As far as the food goes I can only really comment on the Margharita pizza and the house salad. The first time I checked this place out that's what I had and I haven't been able to order anything else since. I love this combo! The pie's ingredients are all fresh and tasty, prepared with just the right proportions. Same with the salad, very fresh and pretty decent sized. Something about a strip mall restaurant turns me off, but as they go this one is surprisingly nice. Once inside the ambience is pleasant and relaxing. The decor is traditional with a modern touch. Table settings are very nice with clothe napkins and table covers, good stuff! The wait staff are profession and courteous, maybe just a little robotic. All-in-all the service is very good! I have to try the Brooklyn style pizza but I just can't break away from the Margharita pizza yet.

I stop here for lunch occasionally after a morning of tennis. The pizza is good, the pasta is good, and the salads are really nice. I most recently had pappardelle with shrimp and tomatoes in a lemon cream sauce. It was awesome. They have some outdoor seating in the summer which is great. If you check-in you get a free dessert, a nice little bonus.

  • John M.

Very good food. I dare say that there isn't anything on the menu that I have tried that I did not enjoy.great specialty pizzas, and the pastas are tasty. The only negative is that the service has become a little off. Still, I would return at anytime.

    (4)
  • Byron F.

The food is decent at best but the service is consistantly lousy. There's nothing like placing your take-out order over the phone, getting there in 20 minutes when they say your food is going to be ready and then standing in the lobby another 20 minutes while they ignore you. After this happened 3 times in a row, they officially lost my business.

  • Dale C.

I was very disappointed with Piccolo. I tried it when it first opened and was not particularly impressed. I tried it again last night with my family, only to be disappointed again. Our server was very nice but the food was at best mediocre. The veal, in particular, was tough (being "tenderized" with a mallet). Additionally, I tried to use a coupon published in the NewtownPatch offering 1/2 price appetizers Monday-Friday, only to discover that management would only apply it to one of the two ordered.

  • Gerald S.

Piccolo Trattoria is a local success story, and it is well deserved. Its growth to 3 shops is testament to the hard work and persistence of its creator. While I have only frequented the Newtown location, I hear great things about Flowers Mill and Pennington. Take out pizza is an almost weekly order for us. Friday or Saturday night would not be complete with a regular or Brooklyn Pie and a Spring Mix Salad. The kitchen is a factory operation which you can watch as you wait at the register to pick up your food. It is a beehive. The pizza is very good and the Brooklyn Pie an excellent version of Sicilian with semi-sweet sauce, basil leaves, and copious mozzarella. The Spring Mix is loaded with Green Apple slices, Walnuts, Feta, and first class Balsamic. The times I have eaten in house, everything has been well presented, tasty, and in abundance. Most of the menu is traditional Italian American fare, so if you have a more adventurous palate, you may want to try Vecchia Osteria., or travel a bit farther afield to Philly or NYC. Otherwise, you can't go wrong with Piccolo.

  • Dan R.

Our recent visit to Piccolo was positive in all respects. We arrived at 6 PM having reserved through Open Table and were seated immediately in the large center dining area, which was already quite crowded on a Saturday night. Service was excellent -- waiter immediately brought bread and a declicious smokey marinara sauce, kept the water glasses filled throughout. The food was excellent and the kitchen even agreed to prepare a combination that was not on the menu. We would go back again in a flash....good to see such an excellent Italian restaurant in the area....

I'm going to make this quick. I caught one of the cooks in the kitchen scratching under his nose repeatedly and not washing his hands, or wearing gloves. Eww. Second, there were flies all over the pizza pies in the front. Third, you can't have prosciutto in the Pasta di Fagiole soup because, as I was told by the counter person, "we're Muslim." Nothing against Muslims, but if a customer wants prosciutto in their soup, shouldn't she or he be accommodated? And, if they sell pepperoni pizza, isn't that made out of pork? Why not put prosciutto in the soup? Somebody explain this tome, please. I have Muslim friends and I respect what they believe. But how can you be a Muslim when it comes to soup, and not when it comes to other items on your menu? Since then, I've been going to an Italian owned placed for my pizza. Not because I like Italians better, but because they know how to make Italian food better.

The 5 stars say it all- As good as it gets. My husband and I won the cutest couples contest on Piccolo's facebook page by submitting our photo, it was so fun. This page is awesome so if you have Facebook LIKE it.... We Won a free Valentine's Day dinner. Yes that is just an idea of how amazing the owners of Piccolo Trattoria are. We had a Valentine's Day dinner filled with amazing food... from the delicious calamari and coconut shrimp to the filet mignon that you could cut with a butter knife and the sea bass that melted in your mouth. Piccolo has outstanding service and food that will leave you wanting to post a good review on yelp and tell all your friends. Thank you Piccolo, we love it there, you make everyone feel at home. *Stephanie Powers

Great service, fine food and three nice tables on the sidewalk. Pizza was excellent. Thin crust, fresh tomatoes and excellent cheese. The mussels, both red and white sauce, were wonderful and plentiful. Monday and Tuesday they are all you can eat.

We have been disappointed so many times regarding authentic tasting Italian food. This place however delivered in a big way! Caesar salad was spot on, with fresh shaved Parmesan, dressed beautifully. 4 Of us have been here twice so far and have sampled 8 of the chicken dishes... All superb The side of pasta was very good with nice red sauce Broccoli rabe was great Located in a shopping center however, nice comfortable ambiance inside. Great service. I can't begin to say how I prefer to write glowing reviews like this... sad that it is not more often. I travel often... really appreciate quality

This place was recommended during a wine tasting at Crossing Vineyards and I'm so glad we stopped . We were greeted warmly and we're treated to great live music by Ambiance The Duo. They take requests! The Clans Nico are superb and the pizza is perfect. Hubby had the sausage and pepperoni. By checking in on Yelp we got a free dessert. We'll be back!

While the food here was really good the service was horrendous and no one seemed to care. I had a coupon for a discount that was not reflected in the check and had to find a manager to get it applied. The waitress disappeared for long periods of time and appetizers were brought out after the main course with no apologies. They have good food but could care less about your dining experience. You can definitely if you want to enjoy yourself find better places.

We haven't been here for a while but driving around we decided to stop and I'm glad we did. We walked in and noticed it was busy even on a Sunday the pizza looked great in the window as we walked by to get our seat. We were Instantly approached by our server Greg Who was fast , witty and very informative. My fiancé had homemade Gnocchi with meatballs and I had the chicken and we both loved it large portions. We will be back

Piccolo recently catered my wedding at the Rose Bank Winery in Newtown, PA, and did a FANTASTIC job. The catering manager, Ali, helped us through every step; she and her staff set up the entire wedding, including outdoor seating for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and even all of our centerpieces. and favors She provided us with full staff (including bartenders, even though Piccolo is BYO) and gave us recommendations for alcohol providers, bakeries for wedding cake, etc and coordinated well with all of the other vendors. Ali was extremely responsive throughout the entire planning process. Of every aspect of our wedding, the food definitely received the most compliments. Piccolo allowed us to write our own menu and were basically able to accommodate anything we asked for. We had an unbelievable cocktail hour with a full antipasto spread and passed hors d'oeuvres. We opted for buffet, with filet, shrimp cocktail, lobster rolls, crab cakes, and sides, all of which were unbelievable. I would definitely recommend Piccolo for catering. Ali took so much of our stress away and really delivered. Thank you for a great experience!

Why has it taken me this long to try Piccolo Trattoria, I can't say, but what I do know is that it won't take that long before I return. However, if the idea is to write an honest review, I have to say that we had to wait about 10 minutes before we were seated, even after having a reservation from OpenTable. We opted for the caprese salad and the Margherita pizza, and I can't say how thankful I am for those choices. The caprese salad came out looking perfect. The juicy tomatoes and fresh, generous chunks of mozzarella stole the show. Just a delicious salad. In keeping with the mozzarella, basil, and tomato theme, the Margherita pizza was outstanding. The Margherita pizza is one of my favorite pizza pies, and this was one of the best I've ever had. Sometimes it's best to say less, and I'm going to leave you with this: Fresh and flavorful ingredients with a crispy crust makes for an excellent, excellent pizza. **I checked in with Yelp and got a free dessert. I chose the chocolate cake, and it was really good. Big in size and flavor. Very rich.

My family has been coming here for years and we have yet to leave with unhappy stomachs! Our family favorite is definitely the Brooklyn pie. It's our go-to Friday night take out meal and we even get it when we visit for a sit down dinner. We also love the calamari and the mussels! The restaurant provides a cozy ambiance and the staff makes you feel right at home. I'm looking forward to my next visit already!

We'll start with things I didn't like, since I gave it 4 stars, you know I liked the place. Got the grilled veggie appetizer, and didn't expect it to be cold! I hate the idea of grilled food coming cold. I realize it makes it easy for them to always offer it, but gross... I was definitely not pleased with that dish. The rest of the food was delicious, we enjoyed their pastas. Their dessert was particularly good, and I would come back more for their dessert than anything else. I love the decor, it's romantically dim, but not too dim, and getting a booth to sit in is a great touch.

Visiting Newtown on business, while I was getting lost (phone died), I came across Piccolo Trattoria, what a pleasant surprise!!! From personal experience a Sous Chef, and someone who loves food, I'm happy to say this is a little Italian Gem for sure! Looking at the menu, they really have a ton of selections; I had calamari (of course) then I had mussel app., then I had Linguini Alla vongole (with clams)..the clams were cooked just right not all shriveled up and from overcooking, al dente pasta, balanced flavor. Best way to test if an Italian restaurant is up to par, is try their bread dip (oil n vinegar or better?) and try Calamari...if they suck then the rest probably suck too! These guys took pride, you can tell! Yup I ate all 3 things by myself, hey hey I only weigh 160 lbs 5'8" tall! Anyways, Piccolo Trattoria, thanks for a pleasant dinner!!!

I originally posted a review which was less than flattering. I was wrong because despite a minor delay we actually had a nice meal and the owner was extremely friendly. It's unusual for an owner to make the kind of effort he did that night and the food was actually really good.

Food was amazing. Service was amazing. Portion size was amazing. Price was amazing. See a developing trend here? I highly recommend if you haven't tried. I had a daily special that took me two days to eat. Italian food done ....amazing!

This place is actually an incredible find. The pasta dishes are fresh, the appetizers are unique, and the pizza is to die for. Specifically, the margarita pizza is second to none--and I have had margarita pizza in probably 50 different locations throughout my life. Only problem with this place is its prices. Yes--you get what you pay for in terms of flavor but not in terms of portion size. I always find myself wishing for a bit more. The pizzas too are a bit expensive, and if it weren't for that godly margarita I wouldn't buy pizza from them. Alas, they have me trapped by providing the absolute best margarita out there! Give this place a try, you won't regret it. Order that margarita!

just had the chicken parm as the chicken was cooked to perfection as it was served with Al dente angel hair pasta. I also enjoyed a thin crusted Brooklyn pizza. I highly recommend to anyone in the newtown area.

My go-to place when I'm in town at my parents' house. And, let me tell you, mom and dad are picky eaters. Big portions, nice seafood selections and something for everyone on the menu. I've had better Italian but this place has something for everyone ... so I'm happy.

We came here for Mothers Day with a large group. My parents love this place so I went along for the ride. It is a strip mall restaurant with a takeout window and then a restaurant next to it. Warm bread is served at the table - excellent and worth coming just for the bread - 5 stars Pizza- very good - definitely above average with a sweet sauce, which I like - 4+ stars Stuffed Figs- only 2 of them and the charged $11.99??- 1 Star Rigatoni- mine came with fresh plum tomatoes in the sauce along with egg plant fresh chunks of mozzarella, which was very good and enough that my wife and I shared the meal. Comes with a side salad for $18.99-4 stars She added shrimp on top for $9 extra (and you only get 3 shrimp?) I ordered chicken on top, which was a breast butterflied and then overcooked so it was thin and hard. Manager came by to ask how the food was so I told him - just said "Really?" In disbelief- so I told my mom what I said and she says "they always overcook the chicken"- 1 Star Ambiance - loud Service- really seemed to try hard. Constantly apologizing when they forgot something or something was delayed. Overall it's a crap shoot. If you have a lot of patience for imperfection and are in the area go for it.

Husband said "this is the worst dining experience we've had in years." Maybe this was an "off" night but I am shocked at what a terrible evening they provided. We went for dinner with another couple who had two small children. It is a miracle the two kids did not melt down as we waited 90 minutes WITHOUT ANY REASONABLE EXPLANATION for the adults to be served. Thankfully, the other couple got the kids' orders in right away. While they noshed on their chicken fingers, we were able to enjoy 2 of the 3 salads that we had ordered. Then, shockingly, there was nothing. After about 20-30 minutes our server appeared to tell us she was sorry, our food would be right out. When we asked 20 minutes later she said "about another 5-10 minutes." We watched several couples who had been seated AFTER us get served first. No one came to refill our water glasses- we had to ask at least twice to get that simple courtesy. What in the world did we actually order that took so long? A vegetable pasta dish that I know takes about 15 minutes to prepare, eggplant parm, shrimp scampi, and the arugula salad. These are BASIC ITALIAN DISHES that I know as an amateur home chef are STANDARDS that any good cook can whip up in a flash. No manager came to our table. Our server gave no explanation, just apologies. f the service was a bit more prompt I would have been tempted to just give it 3 stars on the food alone. Good, serviceable Italian but nothing overly awesome. I had the salad which was OK, I should have gotten the dressing on the side, otherwise it was completely drenched. My husband's pasta was merely so-so, we were underwhelmed by the quality of the eggplant and tomato sauce. Both on my salad and on his pasta the mozzarella had taken on a waxy shell, as if it had been heated and re-heated improperly. Our friends liked their dinners but admitted they couldn't say it was worth the wait. The manager was definitely there moving OTHER tables along. Their were kids far younger than our friends' at neighboring tables. So I am not quite sure where the disconnect was. They have a loyal following which I am sure they deserve but my husband and I will not be coming back ever again.

Awesome tomato pie, appetizers, and they've got this awesome chicken sandwich (chicken, provolone, roasted peppers, spinach)..I can't remember it's menu nickname but it's awesome. One of my favorite apps is the artichokes with crabmeat in lemon sauce. Save room for dessert, it's all kinds of yummy!

Go get a Brooklyn! There is something in the sauce that makes you go back for more. The crust is thin and crispy with just the right amount of mozz and tomatos. Very easy to finish the pie all by myself! Staff is very friendly and they get to know you as a regular.

Very good.

Delicious specialty slice - buffalo mozzarella, basil, sauce. Very bad regular slice - bitter sauce and a thick layer of flavorless cheese. Garlic knots tasted like raw dough. Now that Acme sucks too I can't even claim convenience.

Brooklyn pie is out of this world. However their service is incredibly slow, both when eating in or taking out. And they often mess up take-out orders. Maybe now that the new restaurant is open they can focus on improving their customer service.

The food is fantastic here! I was a regular with my family nearly 6-8 years ago and hadn't been back all that time.

I ordered my regular.. gnocchi in alfredo sauce .. still delicious and just how I remembered it!

I originally posted a review which was less than flattering. I was wrong because despite a minor delay we actually had a nice meal and the owner was extremely friendly. It's unusual for an owner to make the kind of effort he did that night and the food was actually really good.

My go-to place when I'm in town at my parents' house. And, let me tell you, mom and dad are picky eaters. Big portions, nice seafood selections and something for everyone on the menu. I've had better Italian but this place has something for everyone ... so I'm happy.

I love Piccolo Trattoria. I go to the one in Pennington, they are extremely friendly with great customer service! They have the best pizza, especially their Brooklyn pie!

They have a wide variety of pizza and the ones I have tried are really good but the buffalo chicken pizza is amazing! Definitely try it

Normally the food is very good but I should know better then to go on a Friday. Out of all the times I have eaten here this was by far the worse. The waiter has need of serious training!

Go get a Brooklyn! There is something in the sauce that makes you go back for more. The crust is thin and crispy with just the right amount of mozz and tomatos. Very easy to finish the pie all by myself! Staff is very friendly and they get to know you as a regular.

Excellent food and service. The Brooklyn pie is out of this world. We go almost every Friday. Great options vs. the normal pizza parlors.

Delicious specialty slice - buffalo mozzarella, basil, sauce. Very bad regular slice - bitter sauce and a thick layer of flavorless cheese. Garlic knots tasted like raw dough. Now that Acme sucks too I can't even claim convenience.

Brooklyn pie is out of this world. However their service is incredibly slow, both when eating in or taking out. And they often mess up take-out orders. Maybe now that the new restaurant is open they can focus on improving their customer service.

Very large and diverse menu. Good quality food. Prices are reasonable and it's BYOB! Occasionally there is live entertainment - solo guitarist.

This place has great food, and great desserts. The space is a little tight during dinner but it is a great byob, and great for take-out. Great pizza, ok subs, but the italian entrees are outstanding and so are the desserts.

Very good food. I dare say that there isn't anything on the menu that I have tried that I did not enjoy.great specialty pizzas, and the pastas are tasty. The only negative is that the service has become a little off. Still, I would return at anytime.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
