My son and I were looking for a light dinner and decided to try Greenstraw Smoothies on Sycamore Street, the main drag in Newtown, Bucks County. It is a new place on the nicely redeveloped commercial district. The menu consists of a long list of healthy drinks with fresh fruits and veggies, along with nutritional supplements to suit your particular need - Maca, Hemp protein, Flax Seed, Chia, Spirulina, Wheatgrass Juice, etc. The foundation of the smoothies are cow milk alternatives like Almond or Coconut Milk, Yogurt, and Fruit Juices. The combinations are surprisingly refreshing and tasty. I ordered a Leo's Favorite, consisting of Almond Milk, Apple Juice, Banana, Peanut Butter, Strawberries, Raspberries, and Greens. The resultant reddish blend was thick and smooth, but simply sucked through a straw (Yes. It was green). It was a pleasure to imbibe. My son had The Mango Tree, with Coconut Milk, Mango Juice, Banana, Mango Pieces, Pineapple, and Greens. The mix came out a ruddy greenish mash that was also quite good. We both smiled on first drought, and sampled each others drinks. I was definitely satisfied with my liquid dinner and was not hungry again last night. Young man needed a bit more sustenance after finishing his homework. This is definitely a worthy spot for a healthy drink. The prices are reasonable at $5.75 for the middle sized concoction, which was quite filling. There is also fair trade coffee available, but that will wait for another day. Good luck, Greenstraw.

My favorite smoothie place in Newtown. The patient staff lets you take your time ordering your drink and answer questions with enthusiasm. I like knowing the ingredients are very fresh and healthy so I feel I can indulge once or twice a week.

Pricey but very fresh organic ingredients. The staff is wonderful and the owners and manager are especially great.

Very good green smoothies with a range of meal-replacement options. They cater to the green-smoothie newbie crowd, which means they don't pack a ton of greens but you can always ask for more. They're very accommodating and the prices are surprisingly low. There are two things that'd improve this place: - Nutrition information - All organic smoothies (I realize this would raise the price, but maybe focus on only some options) All in all, a much healthier option than *shudders* Smoothie King.

Of course I had to try this place being the picky eater that I am. I like to put the stuff in my body that is really good for me but here is the issue for me with this place.....too too too earthy crunchy so I always feel whatever I get it just Meh ....you know....a little bit weird taste and sometimes a texture that make me feel a bit skeevy. Staff is kinda airy (except my sons' friend Tim who works here). But its not bad....but I also can't say its really good. I give them an A+ for doing the wellness food and giving folks an place to get easily and quickly. But, my son who its hard for me to get him to eat vegetables....I got him a green smoothie here.....and he LOVED it. So give them a try.

I take no pleasure in writing this review. I entered the store around 12:30 this past Saturday (6-7) after deciding to give Greenstraw a try vs my usual Smoothie King. When I walked in, my first impression was the absolute BLASTING of the music ( I believe it was The Killers) and the teenage "servers" huddled in a far corner yapping away. I stood there for a good three minutes and was completely ignored. I honestly believe they just couldn't hear me enter the store. I left angered and frustrated. I KNOW THIS IS A SMALL, LOCALLY OWNED SHOP. OWNERS, PLEASE KEEP A CLOSER EYE ON THESE KIDS -THEY WILL RUIN YOUR BUSINESS.

Stopped by when I was in Newtown the other day. I got the Tres Bayas Verde smoothie and was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. So much better than the chain smoothie places that use tons of sugar in all of their drinks. I will definitely come back and try something else.

Great experience. Place has a solid selection of close to 50 smoothies, light snacks and a variety of local/organic ingredients. Definitely coming back for more to try other options.

What a great place...you feel welcome as soon as you walk in. You can tell it's not a "chain" just by the attitude of the staff. A welcome addition to Newtown. There are plenty of "smoothie" chains exploiting "healthy" with sugar-laden drinks around but this place is the real deal! Put Greenstraw on your list of must haves in Bucks County!

Came in from out of town and the hubby and I immediately searched for a juice bar. This place is a juicers heaven. We only wish we had a place like this closer to home! Organic, non-gmo, fresh juices with great additions like hemp, chia, etc. Friendly service, clean, modern atmosphere, free wi-fi, and a lovely indoor and outdoor cafe area to sit and enjoy.

The smoothies are healthy and tasted great. The prices are surprisingly high. They make Starbucks and Jamba Juice look affordable.

Very yummy! I had the Zen smoothie and a banana whip and was very happy with both. The price is VERY good, especially for being in Newtown. I'll be back!!

I have been here about a dozen times. Each time I have ordered smoothies and they have been inconsistent. Sometimes it is nice and thick and delicious and other times it seems to be runny and watered down. They have a wide variety of unique snacks which is great and also pre made bottles of fresh pressed juice. I agree with the other review about the music, it's very loud. There have always been young kids working there and they are always friendly. If it is busy be prepared to wait awhile for your drink. Twice I have gone and stopped in and didn't order anything because the girls working said it would be 15 min wait for a drink and I was pressed for time. Also, it is very clean and they offer a lot of local produce. Definitely worth a try.

I really support what Green Straw stands for. They use a lot of healthy ingredients (plant protein powders, chia seeds, real fruit instead of juice). This place beats Smoothie King, or any of those large chain places any day. The smoothie I had from Green Straw was awesome. I'd go here more often, but I have the same equipment and ingredients in my own kitchen.

Greenstraw Smoothies has to be the best Newtown store opening in years! Everyone knows the classic saying "You are what you eat." With Greenstraw's delicious smoothies, I can now put all natural and healthy ingredients into my body while still satisfying my sweet tooth. In addition there is a large variety of smoothies which prevents me from ever getting bored. Even my kids are on board. Instead of asking for a trip to the ice cream store, they want smoothies from GreenStraw. The owner and staff couldn't be friendlier. They are eager to answer questions or make suggestions based on your individual tastes. I only wish they had opened years ago.

This place is AMAZING!!! First of all, they're all about our environment, keeping the earth AND our bodies clean and they make AMAZING smoothies. But what's even BETTER than their smoothies? The Banana Whip!!! Oh my gosh, I could eat that all day, every day. It tastes like banana ice cream...but it's only bananas! They take bananas at their ripe prime, freeze them and then put them through this really neat machine that makes them the consistency of...well...ice cream...or whipped cream. I got it recently with fudge and couldn't even finish it all, and I almost always finish my desserts. While it's under $10, everything is on the more expensive side. But if you think about how much fresh and organic fruits and veggies cost, it does make sense. Anyways...check it out. My favorite was the Tropical Dream. I've also had Georgia on My Mind, which was good, and Yogalicious, which was better that GoMM but not as good at TD. So yummy, though. Go. Trust me. I plan to in the next day or two.

Everyday I make my way over to Sycamore Street for my Kale, lemon and Apple Smoothie with Ginger and my Acai Bowl!! Not only do I love the taste but I haven't gotten so much as a cold and I have so much more energy. The staff are wonderful and the place is Immaculate.. I am really grateful that Green straw is in my town!!!

I was very excited for Greenstraw Smoothies to open, but despite the short amount of time they have been open and the many times I have visited this shop, I have not had very good experiences there. I think it is overpriced, the owner is rude, and the smoothies honestly aren't that great. I could make better tasting smoothies at home myself and it would cost much less! The thing I disliked most is that all of their smoothies are made with stevia, unless requested otherwise, and this little fact is posted on the menu in very small font which is very hard to read. In my opinion, I think their smoothies shouldn't be sweetened unless requested otherwise. After I purchased a smoothie and realized there was stevia in it, I kindly asked the owner if I could get another smoothie without stevia in it, (May I add I got a kids size of the smoothie) and she told me no. From what I know from being in the restaurant business, you should accommodate your customers in any way possible to make them happy, this may include making them a new smoothie. The owner told me that she would not switch this smoothie out with a new one for me, she also told me that she was in the "process of creating a larger sign on the counter to tell customers about the stevia." Funny thing is, on that day I was there, there was no sign...So instead of accommodating the customer and making a new smoothie in a KIDS SIZE, she lost a reoccurring customer. My family and friends come here pretty often as well and have had some rude encounters with the owner as well, and they have also told me that they would not like to come back either.

Anticipated my visit here. I'm all about going somewhere with healthy options, and honest ones at that. All their smoothies are made with fresh ingredients. No dairy. No added sugars. The only sweetener they use is Stevia. Locally sourced. Mostly organic. I won't complain about the prices, because there is natural love going into their stuff. I walked in after hiking around for a few hours with an indefinite need for a refuel. It was cute and simple inside with a friendly feeling. The girl working the register greeted me immediately. It took me awhile to decide what I wanted (there are SO many options). I wasn't rushed though. I went for the Leo's Favorite, which is a combination of fruits with some peanut butter. While waiting, I was offered a sample of the "Greensicle," which was really good. It was nice of her to pass that my way, even though I already ordered. I continue to look at other things they had, in which I kind of wanted all of it! I was handed my smoothie and went out on the deck to sit. I feel like I caught some weird looks from some of the customers around, which seemed to be more professional than myself. I was dirty and sweaty, fresh off exercise in the woods...so yeah, I didn't fit in too well. Not the fault of the establishment though. Anyway, my smoothie was pretty damn thick and refreshing. It was different than any other smoothie I've ever had. Nothing tasted fake or weird about it. I feel like I should have made a different decision on what I chose, but I'll definitely be back again to try other things. All of it sounded great!

So happy to have an organic smoothie shop in the area! My first visit was a happy one. I love that you can add in ingredients and pick your greens. I would have loved to see avocado on the menu as an add in, and the smoothie was a little on the watery side, but I was happy none the less. I am excited to try an acai bowl next visit. My one slight drawback would be the employees seemed young and unprofessional. We walked in and were the only customers in the store. The girls behind the counter continued to talk and giggle for a couple of minutes before addressing us and continued socializing while she was taking our order. Pet peeve of mine.

Obsessed. Greensicle and Immunibee are my favorites by far. I wish I could afford to get smoothies here everyday. They are not only delicious but super healthy and filling. Love this place!!!!!

YES! Finally, I found a a juice/smoothie place close to me that I like. Smoothie King does not always cut it for me. Watch out for high calorie drinks posing as "healthy". I love that they have the option for wheatgrass, chia, flax, and other add-ins. The staff was very friendly and patient as I read over their entire menu and finally ordered a customized drink. They have green juices for fanatics like me and some kid/sweet tooth friendly options as well. I am excited to try more.

First off I walked in and Bob Marley was playing...huge points in my book! :) Staff was super friendly! Came in finally after a high recommendation from a friend. Tried the seasonal 'CarrotCopia' and oh my goodness!! It tastes just like a delicious carrot cake in a healthy drinkable form! I will definitely be back for more and to try the whole menu! Keep up the great job guys!
