One of the BEST diners I have ever been too! My mom and I were in the area and a local woman recommended this place to us. I ordered the broccoli ranch chicken and my mom had the pork chops. Both were DELICIOUS! The chicken was very tender and tasted like it was fresh off of the grill and the broccoli on top was also fresh. My mom's pork chop with the bourbon sauce on the side was incredible! They also tasted fresh off of the grill and were very juicy and flavorful. She said it was probably the best pork chop she's ever had and I would have to agree. The prices are very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food and the generous portions. Our waitress was very sweet and attentive. We will DEFINITELY be back to Country Fare :)

Pork chops that are perfect. The veggies tend to be a bit overdone but that is also traditional Penn Dutch cooking which is what this area is known for... The desserts are awesome too. The staff is friendly and knows its regulars but is also good to 'newcomers'.

Very nice restaurant with all the country food you would expect. I got the grilled ham with pineapple sauce, potato filing, green beans; my husband got baby back ribs, coleslaw, and salad, and neither of us had any complaints. The prices are very fare. The decor is very nice as well, with lots of hunting trophies and such in the "cafe" counter area. One of the biggest drawbacks for me was the elevator music in the background, but I think it fit the style of most of the customers.

Traditional country cooking....tasty, and good. As soon as you walk in the door, the baked good smell so good and tempting. Since it was st patty's day and i went for the shepard's pie...it was good, and very fresh. Everyone looked happy with their meals and the chicken looked awesome.

Went here for a quick lunch after a long day. All of the food was great with good prices and portion sizes. The Alice springs chicken was tender and seasoned very well. The bourbon burger was juicy and the bourbon sauce was amazing. The fried shrimp and fried clams we crispy and crunchy and not greasy at all. The desserts were great, not too sweet but hits the spot. All of the desserts are homemade at the restaurant. Service was great, and servers were warm and friendly. The restaurant is clean and the decor give off a "homey" feel. I recommend this restaurant an would definitely come back!

This is the second time my husband and I went to the Country Fare restaurant for breakfast. Both times the food was good (nothing exceptional) and both times we had to wait for our food. Today was the longest wait for breakfast I've ever had in my life. Being a Jersey Girl, I've been to many diners for breakfast. Our server took our order and brought us a thermal carte of coffee right away and then we never saw her. In fact, we never saw any server till 35 minutes later when I asked a different server if there was a problem in the kitchen-she was polite and said that she'd find our server. Finally after 43 minutes, our server brought our food to our table. My husband ordered pancakes which were cold and I ordered eggs Benedict with home fries-the eggs Benedict were warm but the home fries were cold. We did not ask for them to be warmed because we had an appointment later in the morning and didn't want to wait anymore. That's the same reason we didn't leave and go someplace else. Other tables were served after waiting some time, but not as long as we waited. All staff were polite and the hostess that rang us up before we left apologized when I told here we weren't pleased. We are new to the area and area and are trying to find a good diner for breakfast. Country Fare is definitely off the list.

the kind of diner/restaurant i used to go to with my grandparents in the mid eighties. Country style home cooking: chicken croquettes, salisbury steak, club sandwiches, burgers, hamloaf. Nothing spectacular, but good food and lots of great desserts like lemon sponge pie and cherry crumb.

Basic, home-style food done well. There's a wide selection of baked goods and they are especially yummy.

The food was not bad. The portions were fairly large. It was reasonably priced. Our waitress was friendly, but the service was slow. I don't think there were enough servers working. It seemed like they couldn't keep up. Overall, not a bad experience though.

Food was sub-par but the prices were Premium. I was expecting the average jeans and sneakers dress atmosphere. My boyfriend met me either after work in his shop clothes and really felt out of place everyone was staring. Wasn't my thing and def won't go back

Solid traditional country food...this place is just below awesome. You get personal service that Bob Evans and Cracker Barrel just does not offer. My waitress gave my family good suggestions on what she lies, and she made feel at home with her hospitality. Always worth the small wait to get in!

Pies are excellent. Laid back local folks. Chuck full of senior citizens. You wont find one single commie or democrat here. Food is good. Prices are good

Traditional family style diner. A bit away from major highway but worth the detour. Pretty wide selection of food.

I eat breakfast here quite often and must say that the food is good as well as the service. They have quite an extensive menu that caters to the home-style or PA dutch cooking. I would recommend it.

Exceptionally good meal. Our waitress did a phenomenal job and made us feel right at home. The dinner rolls are always very fresh and the coconut cake was the best. Outstanding country meal in a family-style atmosphere. Our waitress Fay was outstanding

This may be the best breakfast in the country. I come home from New York and it is my first stop the following morning. Dinner is OK, but it is the breakfast of champions!

I live just down the street from Country Fare and it is a great place to go if I don't feel like traveling too far and am looking for a good meal. The restaurant is clean, the service is friendly and the prices are reasonable. You can eat in, or take out. Breakfast is served until 11 AM, which is a major plus for my boyfriend and I who thoroughly enjoy sleeping in, but also love breakfast food. The french toast is spectacular! The lunch and dinner menu has a variety of choices from deli sandwiches to seafood dishes. I have tried many different items from the menu, but have narrowed down my favorites to the oven roasted turkey, the turkey club, and the Henny Penny chicken (fried chicken), which is all you can eat on Monday's. Most things on the menu come with a side or 2, and there is a big selection of those to choose from. Salad, filling, corn, sweet potato, cranberry relish, etc. The one side that has never been enjoyable for me or my company is the green beans. I definitely do not recommend those. The biscuits your server will bring to you when you first arrive are heavenly! Country Fare is a bakery as well, so you can't go there without getting one of their delicious baked goods. The chocolate cream pie is wonderful. Then again, most all the sweet treats they have are! If you have a chance, definitely give Country Fare a try.

Food was okay, service disappointing. I ordered the crab cakes that were supposed to be made with jumbo lump meat; it certainly was not made with jumbo meat & was incredibly bland. The sides were good; I had a side salad, potato filling, & some of my bf's French fries. My cousins had green beans which they said were discussing. At least half an hour went by without our waitress even coming to check on us. By now, over half our group needed refills. We also had to prompt her for a dessert menu. Lucky her, she gets an 18% gratuity tip included on our bill since we had a party over 8. So even if she did an incredibly crap job serving us, she still gets that 18% tip. She certainly doesn't deserve it. If u want good service don't go here.

This is the typical "family style" restaurant/diner you find in this area of Pennsylvania. What sets Country Fare apart is that it's beautifully decorated in a country floral style that reminds me of my grandma's house. That's a good thing because my grandma was a heck of a cook and so are the folks in the kitchen at Country Fare. Their broasted chicken is from heaven. I am also particularly fond of their cranberry relish, something I'd never had before dining at Country Fare. Since tasting it, I've tried it in numerous places and no one can make it half as good as County Fare. There is only reason I am going with four stars instead of five: they close crazy early. Maybe it's standard here in PA, but I grew up in Jersey, land of the 24-hour diner, and I would so love to find a good place open late.
