I travel to Scranton all the time and I eat here frequently. I have eaten the hibachi meals and the sushi and some appetizers. Never had a bad meal. Everything is always delicious and the staff know me as a regular. I recommend this gem to try at least once you will be hooked...

This place is amazing! Food made fresh to order. Sweet potato roll is the best I've had. Vegetable pad thai is yummy! Hubby had dancing lobster roll and seafood deluxe hibachi dinner. Taste bud heaven! An unexpected little gem in Moosic / Scranton.

It's the best sushi place in the area. I tried noodles but it's not very good like other Japanese restaurant. If you want good fresh sushi, I recommend this place. Recommend: Overall sushi Chirashi Rainbow roll from speciality roll menu

I started consulting recently and my company books our stays at the Spring Hill Suites whenever the group travels up for work. Akita is a block away and with the cold weather, this is definitely a convenient place for us to have a quick dinner. I've been here twice in 5 weeks. I like their age tofu appetizer which is just a fried tofu with a light dipping sauce. Crispy on the outside and soft tofu on the inside. I had the Moosic roll the first time and the Sunshine roll tonight. Both were delicious however, I enjoyed the Sunshine roll more because of the tobiko (fish eggs) on top. The fish was fresh and the service is friendly. I also hadt the mango mochi ice cream but the ones they have Osaka is better. This place is BYOB so... treat yo-self!! :)

This is probably my favorite sushi resturant in the area- nice intimate location and helpful staff that will recommend items if you can't make a decision on your own. I love their big noodle soups, an awesome spicy Kani salad and the best crispy salmon skin roll, that I could eat everyday. I would have given it 5 stars in it had open wifi.

Best sushi in the area. Every single thing I've tried, including hibachi, is very tasty and ranks amongst my favorite! Downside is BYOB and I usually pop in for dinner, don't plan ahead when I go there. If only there was a wine store nearby.... Also, seating is limited but is never a problem. Once the secret gets out tho, it would be very hard to just pop in anymore. AMAZING that they deliver all over the area.

Our new favorite sushi spot! The sushi here is awesome. I've been to sushi places all over locally (and out of state) and I am very picky, and this is by far the best. The sushi is fresh, lots of roll choices and their cooked food is great too.

It is nice to have a Japanese takeout on the mountain. Only problem is, I am not really a fan of their hibachi. I forget what type of role I had, but that was good. It is a nice change of pace type place when working in the area, but not a weekly or monthly lunch spot.

I have been to Akita when it was in Clarks Summit and now I have gone to Akita at Montage. Both times were fantastic. I went on a Sunday for a late lunch early dinner. We ordered hot tea to drink and the Shumai appetizer which was delicious. We were also given free edamame as was other patrons of the restaurant. For our meals I ordered the spicy scallop roll, the atlanta roll, and the Lady in Red Roll. All were great and they all tasted very fresh. My boyfriend got the Spicy Maki Combo and and Eel Avocado Roll where he also enjoyed. To top off our fabulous meal we got the green tea tempura ice cream which was also good as the ice cream had a smooth deep green tea flavor. All in all I think this is a fantastic addition to the restaurants by Cinemark and we will definately be going back. I would have given it 5 stars but I felt it needs a more cozy atmosphere.

LOVE, LOVE this sushi place! The service is excellent and the rolls are tremendous! The sashimi is always fresh. Kai and his wife are wonderful, very personable. It's BYOB and they don't charge a cork fee. The sushi chef will make anything you want. I love his flexibility and creativity. Great place, you won't be sorry!

Great service and great food. Something I wouldn't normally expect at a shopping mall. The sushi is much larger compared to the local competition and at the same price. Plate presentation is much more professional and appealing, staff is friendly. Overall this place is fantastic.

In one word. Disappointed. Perhaps it's because it is Tuesday. They were dead slow. OK, it is in a shopping area and probably depends a lot on the hotels and businesses. Perhaps it's because it's Moosic PA? I don't know why that would matter. I got the Sushi dinner for 1 and an order of Tobiko Sushi. (flying fish roe). The fish was dry, not moist and fresh. The rice was not put together well. It continually fell apart. The spicy tuna roll had tough wrap, and the tuna was dry and looked like it had been sitting around. Miso soup was good, but too hot to eat for a while. The salad was typical. I'm sorry, I really wanted to like this place based on the other reviews but it just wasn't there tonight. That's about all I can say. Don't think I'll go back.

Great little restaurant on the shops; a nice change from the steaks and super meaty food in the area. They're usually not very busy and the servers are polite and very friendly.

Really good solid sushi. We went after a movie and had made a 7:00 reservation. When we arrived there were plenty of tables but within 15 mins of being seated the place was full and there were to-go orders lining up the front so this place appears to be well known despite it's small size and tucked back location in a strip mall. When I go for sushi I look for pure, unadulterated ingredients and Akita did not disappoint. I ordered my standard sake sashimi as well as the vegetable sushi combo and the Naruto roll which was salmon, avocado and tobiko with cucumber wrapped around. All of my favorite things in one tasty bite. The veggie combo was on point and was cheaper than just ordering veggie rolls a la carte, plus it included soup and salad so the price could not be beat. The sashimi was fresh and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. My husband got the edamame, Akita roll and Molten lava roll which was huge! He said that hands down the Akita roll was his favorite to date and having tasted it myself I agree that it's very good; however, very different and much more involved than my typical rolls. We boxed up our leftovers since the portions were generous and headed back to our resort full and satisfied with our last minute decision to give Akita a try. We don't really get up to the Poconos often but if we're ever in the neighborhood again we would definitely stop in.

Delicious sushi! Not delicious noodles though. The pad thai was so dry. I've tried the yellowtail, Phoenix and miracle rolls. Such unique flavor combinations and everything was very fresh. Will definitely go back

Nice little sushi place. Went in on a Tuesday evening and had no issue getting seated. Service was prompt and polite. The sushi was fresh and nicely presented.
