I was in town for work, the Make-A-Wish Foundation. We have a big event at Little League field in Minersville. I needed a break from the heat and local wish mom suggested this place. There were lots of tables full but I was seated in a booth and ordered a lemonade but they were out. Diet soda instead. I ordered a chef salad with pepper corn dressing, and the waitress suggested a garlic knot. I read quietly for a little while and food was out. Big bowl of Iceberg lettuce , toms, onions, meat wheels, cheese, egg...Garlic Knot came dripping in butter. But it was good. I couldn't finish it all but enjoyed it. I can't recall the bill.. But I remember it was reasonable. Waitress was very nice and pretty.

When it comes to legit Italian, this place is laughable. For instance, they overcook their pasta to the point that it falls apart when you eat it. Come on, it's not hard to cook decent pasta. That aside, the pizza has stayed decent over the years. I'm picky about my pizza and I've always been okay with Palermos. Ask them to leave the pie or slice in the oven an extra couple minutes if you want the bottom to be crispy. They also have a soup special that changes every day. The cream of broccoli soup is extra delicious! Their rolls are homemade and always come out piping hot. Service is always hit or miss.

One word. Excellent Lobster bisque the best! The rest of the food was pipping hot. Service good. Prices reasonable.

Now if you want to know how a waitress can bring down your ratings a few stars ask Cindy @ Palermo's! I've eaten at Palermo's over the years and always had great food and great over service! But from the moment we were seated I had this feeling something wasn't quite right. Waitress (Cindy) seem miserable and impatient. With the large menu Palermo's offers and not wanting the norm pizza or dubs or wraps we were deciding on dinners we ordered soft drinks but instead of leaving for the she just said and what to eat. I knew what I wanted and I asked my wife if she needed more time and even though she did she told me to order! I orders the fresh cutlet veal parmesan it was supposed to be a hand breaded veal cutlet! My wife ordered a salad some fries and Chicken Parmesan! Now for the good part! When we received our food it was brought out by another staff member now my wife's platter looked great and the fries were excellent. So when I cut into my veal I instantly knew it wasn't the veal I ordered and of course our waitress was no where to be found 5 mins later and hungry I ate the fake veal cutlet and spaghetti it wasn't bad just not what I ordered! Still no waitress never came back to check how things were or if we needed refills! When she did appear never asked how things were just said I take it no room for desert and left bill on the table! So Cindy you know why the low tip the only mistake you didn't make was actually charging me for the higher priced veal I ordered by name and pointed to on the menu! Some how I really don't believe this will even matter to you because your more than likely a bad waitperson and hopefully Palermo's will realize this before they lose customers! Palermo's makes a good product unfortunately the rating isn't just about the product it's also about the service, the atmosphere, and overall satisfaction of customers!

Palermo's is as good as it gets, especially in this area. I've been here several times and have tried the cheesesteaks, chicken parmigiana, and pizza. On Friday, I had a small stromboli and bowl of lobster bisque. The stromboli ($6) was fantastic. I really like their dough, and it was loaded with cheese, meat, and vegetables. I got a big cup of sauce on the side for it. Their sauce is delicious as well and tastes homemade to me. The lobster bisque ($4) is great! I believe they only have it on Fridays, but it's kind of rich and very flavorful with pieces of lobster! All meals come with their fresh-baked rolls, which are delicious. They're unlike rolls that I've had at any other restaurant. When cut open for butter, they're like little pockets of bread. I agree that the waitresses here aren't overly friendly, but they get the job done. I won't hold that against this place. It gets a little crowded at peak times which can be annoying, but there's a reason why this place gets crowded. Their food is excellent and their prices are extremely reasonable. Highly recommended.

You'll almost always have a great experience at Palermos. While they are always busy and at times service can be slow, Palermos has been known for their pizza and lobster bisque for ages. I'll admit I'm not crazy about any of the their salads, but I've never had a disappointing Italian dish here. Portions are huge, and the menu is extensive.

I'm not going to say this is the best Italian restaurant ever, but I do stop in every time I'm in Schuylkill County. After years of working at the grocery store in the same strip mall and eating a slice and Guers in under 10 minutes on a daily basis, I just can't resist. Lobster bisque is Skook silver (Guers iced tea is gold). Good luck getting a seat for lunch or dinner at the beginning of the month or after a football game. Cell service never works in here and they don't have WIFI. The waitresses have either been there since you've been in diapers or just started, so they either great or won't last a month. I recommend the lobster ravioli and pesto slice. Everything else is good too, but nothing is really great.

Great pizza, soups and desserts, I haven't eaten other items. Reasonable prices for the options in the menu. Decent size and variety of the desserts. Clean restrooms and dining room.

Palermo's is definitely a locals favorite. It's located in the Kings Village Plaza. The place is always crowded, very friendly service. They also have take-out. The food is good and the prices are reasonable. My favorite is the Italian Salad with the house Italian dressing (it's like eating a ham and cheese hoagie without the bun)and the Margherita pizza. The soups are always a good choice. There sauce is very tasty. I can make a meal out of the garlic knots and a side of sauce. From there entree's to the pizza everything is good. If your in the area and want some good food at a great price stop by Palermo's!

Consistently good over the last 15 years. Pesto pizza, spinach rolls, and antipasto are some favorites. I go every single time I'm in this town. The wait is never very long and everything is worth the price.

Always satisfying if you're in the mood for Italian. Fresh baked rolls and large quantities of quality dishes are what you can expect. It's a semi-classy, comfortable atmosphere with good service, as well. If you're nearby, give it a try.

This place is a favorite of mine, usually eat here when visiting the Skook. I've eaten most of the menu and a few of my favorites are the fresh rolls, Sicilian pie, chicken parm and veal parm, and the baked rigatoni. Ooh, and the fries ain't bad either (not those stupid batter/crispy/fake fries). My wife is a fan of the Penne a la Vodka. Portions are generous (but not too obscene) and a good balance of value/quality. Bottom line: I will eat here again.

I miss Palermo's so much! This is one of the best casual italian places around - not just in Skook - but anywhere I've been able to find along the mid-atlantic region. The food isn't gourmet but it is delicious and filling comfort food. Few things can top their sicilian pizza with a guers iced tea. Anytime I am back in Skook, I can't resist hitting up Palermo's for lunch or dinner!

The best Veal Parm I ever ate! A friend from the area took me to dinner at Palermos after helping her go through a rough time. She had the Filet Mignon and I had the milk fed Veal Parmagiana. When my platter came out I couldn't believe my eyes on the portion size of the Veal! Four huge pieces of Veal smothered in sauce and cheese along with Linguini and warm Bread Knots! I never thought I would be able to finish it all but I could not put my fork down because it was soooo delicious! The waitress we had was very nice and attentive and overall top notch! I left there feeling bloated and stuffed but can't wait to go back someday and do it again!

We decided to go back & give Palermo's another try. Again as before the food was good & this time unlike before the service was good. The waitress was very polite & made herself available whenever we needed refills.

I'm from Virginia, and no where in my area can you find Italian food that equals that of Palermo. But what takes the cake is the attentiveness and speed with which service is rendered. I spent the time waiting for my order watching the efforts of employees in food preparation, cooking, greeting customers, taking orders, and clearing tables. They seem to be a great team that cares about and knows everything about their food and what they are doing. This is a great business model for others to emulate. It is not "high cuisine", but very good Italian-American style food cooked to order.

Great food and service, the best Italian food in the area. They have a pesto slice that is my favorite, we have also tried the calzones, strombolis, and pasta dishes and we've never been disappointed. I would guess they have a dozen servers and 11 out of the 12 are top notch. Be prepared for a wait on Friday nights but the line moves quickly. Cash only!!!

Really yummy and reasonably priced. Doesn't take credit cards, but there is an ATM inside.

The BEST in the area when it comes to Pizza, Stromboli, Sandwiches, and Entrees. Service is great, nice atmosphere. Usually my first stop when I get in the area and the last stop before I leave.

Better than any metropolitan pizza joint I've been to, but Roma still takes the win in Pottsville for me.
