My husband and I were out touring the Milford area today and stopped by the Dimmick Inn. I work for an area hotel and was looking to get a feel for the restaurant and to taste the food, as many guests ask where to eat in the area. I can wholeheartedly say that after the experience I had I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. I approached the hostess all smiles and sunshine, asking for a seat and preferably to be seated outside on the front porch (the inside is very dark and puts one in mind of a dark pool hall, rather than a restaurant). She didn't seem much interested in assisting us and made it quite clear when she proceeded to say that there were no seats available outside, although we passed three empty tables on the front porch. She then led us out the back door and said if we wish to sit outside we can sit here-pointing to some street level tables. She said you can sit at the table at the end, skipping even the two empty tables right in front of the back door. I replied well that's a little segregation don't you think? She didn't say anything, however we knew what she was implying. I am a brown skin woman and my husband is caucasian, we knew exactly what was happening. They might as well had a "Whites only" "Blacks in the back sign" Thank you for being upfront about your racism, before we forked over any cash.

We stopped here on our way to vacation.. Great local atmosphere with friendly service. I had the bison bUrger which was on an English muffin and my husband the chicken sandwich.. They were delicious and the fries were amazing! They have indoor and outdoor seating. This was a great last minute pick!

This is the kind of place you go to if you're craving over-priced fast food and some halfway decent beer. Most of the bartenders treat you like they have some personal vendetta against you and it hurts for them to smile. It's always fun if you want to get sloshed here on a Saturday night, though. Perhaps because it's one of the few places in Milford that stay open past 9pm.

Did lunch and sat outside. Being on the corner of a very busy road, it was very load. I would recommend sitting inside or closer to the back. The food was incredible and so was the staff. Never had to wait on a refill and the food was served timely and hot. Will go back again.

Good food at reasonable prices. Try the southwest rolls and hogs wings. Both are real treats.

We tried this restaurant on Saturday there was 7 of us made reservations the staff was great, the hostess and our server was very nice. However the food 3 out of seven was good the other 4 not so much. Maybe an off night will try again in the future.

I'm surprised people are complaining about the beer selection as The Dimmick has around 8-10 beers on tap and almost all of them are craft. (Lagunitas, dogfish head, Evil Genius etc etc) The best part about this bar is the outside deck atmopshere and the very affordable beer prices! Good night scene and decent food.

This is a great stop for a meal! We stopped here for lunch. Sat outside. Our waitress was really nice and helpful. The street noise level is really loud. Lots of truck traffic. But the food seemed to make up for the high decibels. I'll be back for dinner as I hear their steaks are wonderful!'

Although they make a decent burger here I can't say much positive No one seating people, bartender ignored me Walked to the back found someone to seat me finally The staff person we had, Chris was great but he seemed to be the only one working on a busy enough weeknight The place has really gone downhill, used to be someone to greet and seat and the porch is not inviting, furniture seen better days, didn't look like anyone cared Too bad to see the decline, great location, could be really good place

Don't go here unless you're a local. S and I were up there this past Monday for a home inspection and decided to take the 30 min trip from Bushkill to Milford, hoping to have a nice lunch and do some shopping. The outside of the inn looked inviting enough, with its cute wrap around porch and country vibe. We walk in and took our seats at the bar. The female bartender walked over without so much of a smile or warm greeting and put bar napkins down in front of us. When I ordered a Magic Hat and S a Dogfish she again very rudely asked for our IDs. I have no problem being ID'd but at least crack a smile at me. Every interaction we had with the woman seemed painful for her. Meanwhile every local that walked in was met with a huge smile and mass enthusiasm. Not to stereotype, but S and I look like pleasant enough people with enough disposable income that we're drinking your priciest beer on a Monday while out of state. Anyways, the food was just okay. The bartender also asked S how he wanted his turkey burger cooked. We should have taken that as a sign. Definitely pass on the French onion soup, turkey club wrap was huge but mediocre. We won't be back.

Stumbled upon this restaurant while driving through Milford. We came here for lunch on a Monday afternoon after seeing that it seemed busy and it looked nice from the outside. We saw a few people eating on the patio, but decided to sit inside since it was a bit hot and humid. The inside decor was a bit dated, it reminded me of a funeral parlor. The service was poor. The waitress took our orders then came back 15 minutes later and told two people in our group that we had to choose another dish to order, because the chef was having a bad day and was refusing to make the food we ordered. Okay so we ordered again and hoped for the best. The food was fine, nothing to rave about. It was difficult to get our waitress to refill our water glasses. I don't think I would come back here.

Stopped in for a quick dinner last night. The Hostess was not very friendly, no smile and didn't even say "follow me", just grabbed menus and walked away. Our waiter, too, never smiled. Seemed that most of the employees hated being there with the exception of the young man who brought our appetizer. Also, I was a bit surprised to have my beer served in a plastic, throw away cup in a restaurant boasting $20 entrees (I could understand this if we'd been eating outside). Will say the food was very good and for that reason, will give the place a second chance.

That have a great simple menu, the meats are excellently cooked. They are a bit pricy because of location. My order was the New York steak and the shrimp. They serve fresh hot bread rolls upon arrival. Everything was great. This place was built 200 something years ago and is still active. That's very rare in today's society. I got French onion soup for an appetizer and that was greatly cooked as well. If I wanted to be a critic I would say that the Dimmick is connected to a bar which at times can be loud but there are different sections to eat. Locally live here and I agree with many of the reviews.

The food here was good about 10 years ago. The atmosphere was beautiful. We spent every Christmas Eve here with our family right after church. Since the new owners took over this place has gotten worse and worse. The food is always either over cooked or undercooked. Last month I had ordered the linguini with clams and there was so much salt in it I couldn't even get down more then a few bites. And I like my salt but that was ridiculous. The hostesses are usually as nice as can be but the wait staff (I will say most that we have had) are terrible. If you ask for something a little different, rather then go ask the chef, they will actually tell you "NO" or fight with you when you tell them you have asked for it before. They used to have a little treasure chest that our kids would be able to go pick a little $1 toy from, no more. Seems like it has turned more into a "drinking spot" then a nice restaurant. It's sad because they have destroyed the history of this place. I know people that would come all the way from the city just to eat here. They have had the same menu forever. They won't even bring you a salad with your meal anymore. Thank god we found The Grotto. That is our new go to place. Great food. They can't do enough to please you there. Missing the "old" Dimmick :(

Stopped while passing through. Looked busy. Patio waiter had zero personality. Hubby got burger and fries. About 10 fries of which half were ends. I got a steak sandwhich, easy on onions. The steak was sliced thick which made sandwhich hard to eat. Very little cheese which made sandwhich dry. Waiter very slow. No politeness about him. Inside was dated. Prices ...ahhh , considering experience...high.

Love love love the atmosphere at the bar if you're by yourself OR outside if you're with your honey. The shrimp scampi pasta is out of this world and the side garden salad is solid. They were out of steamers but I hear they are amazing. Come for the food, stay for the atmosphere and service and great local conversation at the bar!

It is basic Sysco crap. Prepackaged and not particularly interesting. I ordered their T-bone steak rare and it came back as medium. The garlic mashed potatoes are directly from a supplier, obviously not made locally. If this is all that you are looking for, cafeteria food served in an okay decor, then welcome to it

Nice atmosphere. Pretty decor & very clean. Waitress was friendly, accommodating, & personable. Good service. Food was nothing phenomenal, but certainly very good. Good sized portions, cooked correctly, and flavorful. Price was reasonable considering this is one of the nicest restaurants in this area. Overall good experience. I would definitely come back next time I'm in the area.

The food I was served was, at best, greasy spoon dinner quality. Undercooked fish filled with very undercooked crab stuffing, topped with what at one time was shrimp on a skewer which had been transformed to rubber from being cooked to death. During the meal, I was pestered no less than 3 times WHILE MY FORK WAS STILL IN MY HAND and asked, if I was done yet, while the bus person reached for my plate. I should have let the eager wait staff take the food away, because later that night I was up until 4am sitting on the toilet and vomiting into a trash can until my system was completely empty. I was a former resident in a town near Milford and have eaten at the Dimmick in the past. The prices were reasonable and the food was always great. Based on my recent experience and the comments from my family that the food has become increasingly expensive and decreasingly edible, I would recommend driving up the road 1/3 mile and eating at the Muir House. You will find comparable prices and MUCH better food and service there.

Beautiful spot, with a large wraparound porch for eating al fresco, it is located in the charming town of Milford. The menu is fresh and interesting with Buffalo meat and large portion. I love their burgers as well for a quick bite. They have a bar and three nicely decorated dining rooms as well inside the Inn. Check it out while antiquing and visiting this very nice spot on the Delaware River.

Stopped here for lunch yesterday. We asked to be seated on the porch, it was a nice sunny day. After 25 minutes, and when we were just getting ready to leave, our waiter finally came to the table. He apologized, and said the hostess hadn't told him we had been seated. But he had walked by us twice before without noticing us.Huh? I really cannot tolerate bad service. I had the Rueben, which was served open faced and was good.. the fries were done well, and the Thousand Island dressing was good. My husband had the mozzarella and roasted pepper sandwich. What a disappointment. The peppers were from a jar, and they hadn't been even properly drained. The roll was wet and mushy from the peppers. The grilled cheese sandwich that my daughter had was bland and tasteless. The restaurant is nice and has a great old inn quality, but the food is not memorable. I would maybe go back for a beer, but I won't order food again.

Quaint Inn and restaurant. I picked this place out of the blue one afternoon as I just wanted to disappear for the weekend. The Inn: The Inn itself is old and pretty charming. The room was way better than I had imagined - very nicely appointed and with a really excellent bed - I chose a suite as I wanted something with my own bathroom- I hate to share bathrooms. Apparently about half the rooms have a shared bath which is fine if you are into that sort of thing. The only down side was that it was freezing cold and this being a very old building, it was very drafty- and they did not have an elevator and while this is normally not something I care about, I happen to be nursing a fractured ankle which made the stairs a bit more complicated but not unbearable. It was kind of my fault as I did not ask or mention the elevator when making the reservation. The Steakhouse: I'm guessing the other couple who posted on here had some bad seafood but I have to tell you, we had some very excellent food here. When I booked, they offered a package deal - the suite and 2 dinners for a fixed price. When I got to the restaurant I inquired and was told that anything on the menu was fine as part of the package- that was a pleasant surprise as they had some really nice steals there. The waitstaff was totally excellent and let me tell you, this restaurant is hopping all night long. They also had a guy playing a piano in the main room and he was an added bonus to a decent night. I made fast friends with him and he was playing all kinds of things I could toss at him- we had a lot of fun. All in all I'd go back there again and eat there as well- the whole experience was very good. The parking kind of sucks as there is no on street parking and they do not have a lot of their own- you can park here and there in town - they will tell you where you can try.

The only problem with this place is the people who run it they are not from milford they are from bay ridge brooklyn and they are thugs brian mcclaughlin been in jail several times john jorgensen isn't exactly a nice guy neither is andrew or michael they are jerks i would rather hang myself then eat anything or drink anything they service

Wow. It's a shame the difference a year can make. Last year, the food was delightful and the staff friendly. This year, the food was ick and overpriced (would it hurt to include a salad with the meal price as in year's past?) and the staff truly un-welcoming. A real bum out. This should be the small town standard hangout that it once was.

I went here with a few friends for drinks. $4.50 for a glass of Stella Artois is a little steep. The bartender was nice and usually leave you alone to bullshit all you like. Besides being pricey at the bar, it's not a bad place.

The Dimmick Inn has improved over the last few years that I have been going there since the new ownership of the Jorgensons. It takes some time to build a business to match the quality of what others considered the quality of the previous owners, but I guess I could compare it to that as well. By the time the previous owners left, the rooms and the restaurant were sorely lacking. It takes time and money to rise from the ashes so to speak, and I think that the Jorgensons are doing a good job of it. The rooms are very nice now, and the menu is vastly improved. Good help is extremely hard to find everywhere, everyone knows this; bottom line, it takes time, and effort to get a business to meet everyone's expectations, especially if it is to meet the expectations of those who know the business of how it was in the days of yore. By the way, I left the Dimmick of the former owners years ago because I found a hair in my salad and asked for a new salad,. The former owners refused to accommodate me, and I ended up eating at the Milford Diner at 10:00 P.M.!

If you love food poisoning, you should head on down to this charming restaurant in rural Western PA. I recently went there with my girlfriend and her family to pay outrageous prices for food that gave us all stomach ailments ranging from indigestion to raging vomit and diarrhea. It seems that the fish was the most likely culprit as I had the prime rib and suffered only an upset stomach. Aside from the sketchy food, I couldn't figure out where they got the nerve to charge $25 a plate for food that was mediocre at best. The twice baked potato was dry and inedible. The vegetables were merely steamed and thrown on a plate. The prime rib was fine, but the only way to screw that up is to overcook it. They did keep it medium rare to their credit. Overall, I would advise not eating at this establishment until they clean up their act and cut their prices in half.
