Went in for a sandwich today, as I have done over the years. Looked at the menu, and ordered the wayside chicken wrap. It stated that it was $7.50. Cool. Got the bill, it was 9 and change. I asked the gal behind the counter and her reply was" uh, the prices can change. Chicken has gone up. The sandwich cost $8.65 plus tax." I will never go there again. Plain and simple. Put the correct amount on the damned menu. Ps. The sandwich was eh. Could have saved almost ten bucks.

Ok...several business catering jobs, a graduation party and a taste of Philly sample of hoagies and steaks for some "out of towners" later....I would give Lou and his staff (of mostly family members) 10 stars if I could. I have yet to have a bad experience with anything they do. Our graduation party was a huge hit. I only wish I had ordered more meatballs and pork as we ran out!

We come in about once a month - this last time for wings & pizza for me and my 10 year old and her 10 year old friend. The owner is terrific and treats us so nicely. Kids love the cane-sugar-based sodas (Watermelon and Huckleberry). Pizza is quite good here. A great value, too. They also cater many meals for our elementary school and the teachers love the food.

I was not super impressed by this place today. I ordered three sandwiches to go just to get a sampling of what these folks have to offer. Orders are placed at the register when you first come in. I was obviously new as I said that it was my first time here and I would need a moment to see what to order. The young lady at the register was polite but after I paid did not tell me what to do. So I asked. Yes, there is a sign that says pick up here but... She told me that yes take out is pick up at the counter as well but that they would call my name when my order was ready. So I took a seat and waited. One by one I saw my sandwiches make it to the counter but it was clear that the person preparing them was doing so one by one. I wonder what happens when I am not the only customer. A third sandwich came up. I waited to have my name called or be acknowledged half wondering if I was waiting for the sauce that went with my sandwich. After another minute of them sitting I asked if they were my sandwiches and he said yes. Now he bags them. So service: 1 star. It's takeout I want to get out. Why are you holding my sandwiches hostage? The food. The hot roast beef was pretty tasteless and the chicken cutlet with broccoli di rape was over peppered. They also chopped up the cutlet in the sandwich which I did not care for. The meatball sandwich was very good and I would order this again. This place is off the beaten path serving pizza and cane sugar sodas as well as sandwiches. Unfortunately I don't think this place is worth the side trip based on this visit.

This is a family place in a nice secluded spot. They have the best indoor bbq I have ever had, and the make darn near everything from scratch. They have a nice area for dining, a nice parking area and reasonable hours. All I can say is try this place you will be shocked at how wonderful this little hideaway is. Great community eating establishment.

For starters, Wayside Market is located in a place you would not think a Market/Cafe would be. It is in a quiet street among the row of homes. This is frequented by the locals and residents of the area. I like that they address each other by names. The Cafe is clean, fully stocked with necessities for someone wanting a snack or a meal quickly without having to stop at a big supermarket. After yelping for awhile, I have certain expectations from businesses that I visit. If a business decide to post their own photo on the yelp side, I expect to be served that product the same way. Their interpretation of a cheese steak sandwich needs improvement big time. Wayside Market posted their own photo of their cheese steak sandwich that is filled up with a lot of steak. Mine, check out the photo I had posted and you be the judge. I like the fact that they have this interesting soda machine that is void of High Fructose corn syrup and instead sweetened with cane sugar. You have 8 different flavors to choose from... Their salad is fresh and the grilled chicken was tasty. The Chicken Steak Gourmet pizza was OK. They could cook the pizza longer and have a crispier crust. I love their buffalo wings, it was tasty, and finger licking good. Our server/cashier was pleasant and informative. She gave her recommendations on some of the menu choices. The Grilled Veggies Panini was not pressed on the grill. It looked to me like a Grilled Veggies Sandwich. Don't get me wrong, the sandwich was delicious. But if you are serving a Panini sandwich, I expect to see a pressed sandwich with grill marks. Over all, I will not mind returning back here. I will skip the cheese steak sandwich. And if I will order another panini sandwich, I will mention to the server to make sure that it is grilled and pressed the way a panini should be.

We saw the Yelp rating and were excited to try the food. We saw all the good reviews. Not sure if it was a bad night for them but the service was unacceptable. I called and they put me on hold for more than 5 minutes but that was ok. Maybe they were busy. The problem is it took over 2 hours to deliver our order to our hotel which was only 9 minutes away from them. They lady who took the order was very polite and she was apologetic for the delay. However, the manager had an attitude. He stated that I was out of the delivery range and that I had to be patient... 2 hours?!?! Patient...Gimmie a break. I mentioned to him that the person who fielded my call earlier stated that they can deliver to me. He answered, "that was me.." Ummmm.....Why would you take my order in the first place? Well anyways, Delivery guy finally comes at 8:10. He apologizes and seems nice. He cuts the bill by 10 bucks so I give him a decent Tip. I wish the Manager was as nice as his employees. The food however was good. Can't knock the food. But the manager wasn't so accommodating. It's hard to enjoy good food with bad service.

We had wayside cater our wedding block party reception and the food was terrific. Meatballs went in a minutes and ziti is unbelievable. The owners, Donna, took such a great amount of time with us building a menu and was really friendly and they have organic soda in their market. Yum!!! We are lifetime fans

Best pizza we've tasted in years. Even reheated the next day. Crust was delicious and crispy, the sauce was tasty and the meats delicious. The service was very friendly and accommodating. A hidden gem!

From the reviews I was really excited to try this place. The description of their hoagies sounded like the food at Country Deli in Gradyville, and I am always interested in a good hoagie. My husband and I tried Wayside at our first opportunity, and while decent, the hoagies did not live up to all the ravings and praise here on Yelp. Our favorite hoagies are from LaSpada's in Parkside (about 5 minutes from Wayside, straight down 352, just past Brookhaven), and for the money, Wayside's portions and taste were not comparable. We could feel by the weight of the sandwich, even when wrapped, that it was not going to be nearly the amount of food we get elsewhere. Rolls were shorter, toppings slighter, and meat a lot lesser. We were really bummed because we'd love more great hoagie places in the area. Had we driven 5 more minute to LaSpada's, we'd have been in hoagie heaven. I hope my review does not ban me from Wayside, as we hope to go back and give it another try. I will be sure to post a follow-up review if the 2nd experience is improved.

This is my husband's favorite place to stop for lunch when he's working. Tucked away in a mostly residential area in Middletown, Wayside has pretty much a little of everything from breakfast, sandwiches, salads and pastas to pizza, burgers, cheesesteaks and bakery items. The breakfast burritoes, Reubens and baked ziti are really good, just to name a few of the menu items that I've tried. We always have a good meal at Wayside, accompanied by fast, friendly service:)

I live in Bucks County, but my son travels for work throughout all of the Del. Valley. He stopped at the Wayside Market, and brought back one of their Italian hoagies. WOW! This hoagie was far and away, in a league of it's own.....far superior to any hoagie in my area. I don't know if love was the missing ingredient, but the entire package....was excellent, and I'd give this hoagie the top rating one can give a hoagie. Awsome extremus! ( in Latin) And this wasn't a fluke, because since then....my son has made it a point to stop there and pick up more of these delicious delights with each trip out to Delco. The owners here take pride in serving the finest ! And that is evident in the quality of what they offer. You will not be disappointed if you stop here.

My wife and I enjoyed both the Old World Italian and the Primo Italian hoagies last night. Both were exceptional in both taste and girth. My wife actually complained there was too much meat. Rare to say that about deli sandwiches these days. However, they only get a 4 rating due to their wing size. I ordered 10 and they were mostly small, some were downright pathetic. The owners may want to consider weight, not count measurements for wing order consistency. This happens frequently, which is why I generally order wings from very few places. Would definitely go back and try some other items on the menu, though. That roast pork is calling my name!

Can I do 4 1/2? If I could, I would. Wayside is an excellent little shop for all of your hunger needs! Their food is awesome and their prices are just as nice. The most meat on a hoagie anywhere! Trust me. The people who work there are great too. Always a smile and they know everybody!! The only knock on the place is that it can get slow. If you order on the phone prepare for a 30 minute wait no matter the time of day. If you go in to eat, it can be as slow, too. If you don't mind the wait, this place is awesome!!

Stopped in here to order some light fare for take-out for a family dinner. We ordered the Mediterranean Pizza, the Greek salad, capresse salad and antipasto. All of the salads were fresh and generously portioned. The pizza had a thin crust and had a nice ratio of feta cheese to sauce and spinach. It was nice that they accommodated our request for olives only on half of the pizza. The total was less than $35 and I felt it was a good value. They seem to have a nice selection of deli meats, standard deli salads and beverages. They also have a generously stocked dessert case where you can buy cake by the slice. There are plenty of tables to dine in - it's very informal but the quality of the food is quite good.

Had Wayside Market cater mom's 80th birthday, everyone at the party said the food was terrific. They set the room up in a very organized fashion and cleaned up at the end. They came quite a distance to the event as well.

I know my food, so based on the positive reviews of this place I went to try it out. Small Old World Italian was huge. Easily enough for 2 people or 2 meals. Meats where very high quality and sliced paper thin so as to taste all the flavors. Good blend of fresh and pickled vegetables as well with a nice tangy balance to compliment the meats and cheeses. Triple scoop salad was also excellent. Dark mixed greens with a nice selection of very fresh cucumbers, tomatoes and olives. Not your typical junk lettuce salad mix. Tuna, chicken and egg salads where excellent. Not overly mayonnaisey like most places. Could really taste the tuna and the eggs had a nice balance of vinegar as well. Chicken salad had very nice pieces of chicken cut into very small cubes. Homemade balsamic vinegarette not too sour. Raspberry chocolate cake and chocolate cannoli also above average. Free soft pretzels and free tasting of roast pork and broccoli rob where also available during the visit. The roast pork is homemade with Rosemary's and other spices. It's NOT salty. Excellent. The broccoli rob was not bitter, a nice change from every other place I have had it and it was. I used to foot Rolynn deli for authentic Italian but this place has much better tasting food and the prices are much lower.

Can't honestly give a 4 star rating although it has potential. Major issue I encounter is that orders sometimes are incomplete and more often than I would like. E.G., I have been shortchanges on wings, have gotten "incomplete" hoagies, I.e. ordered a hoagie and did not get tomato, lettuce, onio, just the meat that was ordered. The quality depends who is on the shift. Recently ordered a steak and egg breakfast hoagie and it ended up,being just steak and egg sandwich. Just tried their new menu item, " barbecued" ribs. NOT true barbecue. Would guess oven baked and finished on a grill after being sauced. Not a lot of flavor, as matter of fact, meat tasted slIghly undercooked, had hint of raw meat taste. Priced like "real" BBQ though, but not. Staff friendly, hard working but sometimes inconsistent, more than i would expect. Quality is above average for area but there are better places.
