My Romano chicken sandwich was very good. I just wished the cook had on gloves when he touched it,

On a Roll is damn good food. Very awesome quality. I had the Chicken Pastina (soup) so good. It comes with a roll. And I also had the Bacon Cheddar Chicken Cutlet Dagwood. YUM. I recommend these both. It's Media prices, but its actually worth it.

Charming little place. Simple, creative and delicious food. The service was courteous and friendly. We really enjoyed our sandwiches. We got the salmon sandwich with greens, mushrooms and peppers and a steak sandwich with provolone, peppers and onions. I would highly recommend for lunch.

Ate a bacon cheeseburger here a year or so ago and it is still the best one I've ever had.

I had the vegetable wrap here, and it was exactly what I needed! I was cold and really hungry, and this rescued me. The prices are reasonable, and the parking wasn't an issue. They also take credit cards. I think this is a good lunch spot, though I don't live in the area so I don't know what else is out there. Here's what they're missing: a recycling bin. I asked the gentleman working the register if they recycle and he said yeah and took my bottle, but I have a feeling he was just doing that because everyone in the restaurant heard me ask and wanted to make a positive impression. Maybe I'm wrong, I don't know.

Tried the Salmon dagwood yesterday - was fantastic. Tried the grilled chicken house salad with low fat balsamic today, also fantastic. The half roll that came with my salad was the same type of sourdough roll they use with their Dagwoods - and it was fresh and delicious! I think this may be my new go-to lunch spot.

This is as good as a sandwich shop gets. Just today I had the Bruchetta Burger. Fresh pesto and bruschetta on a hand-pressed burger on a sourdough roll. What? You gotta be kidding me! Outta control!

Been living a media for a few months aways drove past and was impressed with the outside presentation and wanted to give it a try. I finally checked out On a Roll and it was nicer and cuter than I expected! The restaurant was clean, cozy but not stuffed. The menu was presented impressively and not immature or all over the place. I got the "famous" chicken caesar salad. I've had at a lot of chicken Caesars and most are all always good but the same tasting. This one did popped! The chicken was grilled right there and fresh they put it together in a quickly manner and were gracious. I would go back again!

I would say that this place is media's nice little secret. I work right across the street from them and when I don't feel like eating sushi, I go this awesome place for their chicken caesar salad or their cheesesteak. Great little place.

For all the choices in Media, this great little place is a 1/2 block off of State Street, but you'll get some good food at a price. On A Roll is a great Panera alternative, and can be a great place to grab and go or dine in for a meal? Atmosphere - On a cloudy Thursday evening, I decided to try this little spot, about 1/2 a block up from Azie. Inside, very nice decor with green and brown tones, a small dining area, and a large menu board featuring their selections. It seemed a bit warm inside, but with a few ceiling fans and some great windows for people watching, we settled in for our meal. Waitstaff - To be fair, we ate here about an hour before close, and were waited on by one of the cooks. He was very friendly, and had a great personality, very likable and engaging. Brought our food and things out staggered, but did a good job for a secondary role. Did mention they ran out of ice, not quite sure how that happens, but at least he was honest and fun about it. Food - I was very happy to report the food here was pretty good. My dining partner ate a Chicken Caesar rap as I like to say, that was done right. Homemade, creamy caesar with fresh lettuce and chunky grilled chicken. I went with the Chicken Parm special which was pretty good as well, but both were 'as is', meaning a garnish side or small side of pasta. For the price, you could do better at some of the other restaurants in Media on the amount of food you get. Also got some chocolate chip cookies to take home which were ok, little disappointed with the dessert. Intangibles - This restaurant does catering and has a lot of tasty options. Part of me thinks that this would be an awesome lunch spot, but really just ok for dinner? Easy and convenient if you're in town for the day or for ugh, jury duty. I'd be interested in getting food 'to go' here, rather then dining in for the future. Overall - Good concept and good service get a good rating from me. Will have to try back for lunch to see if it alters my review (was really torn between a 3 or 4 star review here, but think that might have been for dinner). This is another, of many good spots in Media, which you should try if you'll be in town.

Great sandwiches that are super fresh and excellent quality. Meal served with fresh toast and bruschetta to start the meal. Quite delicious. For the price and quality, five stars.

What can I say.. This place has it all. Good food, good service and a good quality environment. Oh and relatively cheap food! This place made me wanting more, and I will definitely be back!

This review is based solely on the chicken caesar salad. But this is a 5 star chicken caesar salad! It's just your classic CCS with creamy dressing, romaine, homemade croutons and perfectly grilled chicken. Also, the staff are really friendly.

Great lunch after a long flight to Philly. If we lived in the area it would easily be a favorite.

I do not think of burgers in the same sentence as On A Roll (as in the restaurant), because I have always visited On A Roll for more "lunchy" sandwiches like chicken salad, or cold cuts, or for just salads. Recently I consulted Yelp for decent burgers neaby and was surprised to see On A Roll come up, and also surprised to see they are open for dinner hours. As you can see, I had always thought of them in a very lunch-defined category. I hadn't been to On A Roll since they moved from their old location (where Buddy's is now), yes, quite a while ago. (We tend toward Custom Bagels for lunch in Media.) So we tried some "dinnery" food from On A Roll the other night. Husband got Chipotle Chicken sandwich and I had the All-American Burger. My husband said his was good, but he'd have liked a little more spice. My burger was pretty decent. Actually, my husband also bought a burger at Upper Crust in Newtown Square on his way home, so we could split things and sample. The On A Roll burger patty was Angus meat, and definitely decent grade meat. The 1/2-pound patty from Upper Crust was somehow more flavorful, though they did not advertise it as Angus beef or anything special like that. I was surprised that Angus would not taste better than the no-name meat from Upper Crust but maybe they just didn't specify whatever it was in the menu? On A Roll's bun was FAR superior to the Upper Crust one (even after husband requested a kaiser over a lame sesame crap bun that Upper Crust normally serves). On A Roll's cheese and other toppings were good quality. My lettuce was a nice deep green (Romaine? but not bitter like Romaine), and the onions, which I requested raw, were very crisp. I did not get to try Upper Crust toppings because they charge $0.50 per lettuce, onion, etc., and that is just kind of obnoxious to me (toppings are free at any other burger place around). All in all both places do not specialize in burgers, so the comparison was fair that way. I would say overall On A Roll wins. I would rate On A Roll's burgers above Georgio's on taste, and on par for value since On A Roll offers a superior patty for a higher price. On A Roll is way above Buddy's across the street, BUT the ideal combo would be to get fries at Buddy's (they have AMAZING fries) and a burger at On A Roll. I am so disappointed by Wimpy's in recent years, I don't even want to enter them into the conversation. I just don't do Wimpy's anymore. The On A Roll staff was friendly and food was ready on time.

I really enjoyed my Caesar wrap! The whole meal felt very fresh and light, but filling. The homemade Caesar dressing was delicious! The decor is very nice. It's a small space so I don't recommend going with a large group, but it would be a wonderful spot to do work over lunch. I do wish my service had been a little better, especially for a first time visit, as the individual working was not particularly friendly.

Very good sandwich, wrap, and soup options. Hits the spot for lunch or dinner. In addition they have the best Caesar salad in Delco, better than the top steakhouses and Italian restaurants. Very nice staff too.

I returned here and surprisingly my dining partner and I ordered the same thing as last time. Both were still good but the burger is the draw - very juicy and perfectly cooked.. We also ordered a soup - we had our choice of potato, ham, and bacon or vegetarian chili. We opted for the potato which clearly was home made but I'm not sure I would order this again as I expected something less chunky and more creamy. It was good but just not my taste. Service was ok but nothing to write home about. We started to get ignored after entrees were served and a big group of men came in and joined a table one by one. It's Media, so parking can be challenging especially with the most recent snows. It's not accessible since there are be stairs to get in.

I've been here twice for business meetings now. Finding a place that satisfies my coworkers desire for cheap food and my desire for quality food can be difficult, but On A Roll makes that possible. It's a homey little cafe with a great staff. They are happy to wait on their customers and the food is quickly prepared. They have standard fare, a variety of sandwiches, and some soups and sides. The chair I was sitting on collapsed mid meal, but I will let that slide because it must have been hilarious watching me tumble to the ground.

I always heard amazing things about the food here, and when I started working in the area, I was glad to finally be able to try it out. The salads and wraps are beyond fabulous! The chicken they use is so fresh and delicious, you won't want to stop eating! The specials are also great as well, I had the Marathon Wrap which had grilled chicken, spring mix, cucumber, bruschetta mix and tzatziki sauce on it. The sauce had a bit of a kick, but it was a great change up from my usual love of the Chicken Caesar Wrap or House Salad.

New to living in media, my boyfriend and I are slowly trying all the restaurants and we have to give this place 5 stars! The service was quick and super friendly! It's a cute little shop with a smaller menu but it was delicious! I got the Chipotle Chicken Breast Sandwich and I don't have any complaints! The chicken was juicy and cooked to perfection and the chipotle sauce wasn't too spicy but just enough for me to notice it. I tend to be a picky eater so I opted out of the mushrooms and caramelized onions but it also came on the softest roll and cheddar cheese as well. Needless to say we will definitely be going back soon!

This place is great and right off of Orange and State. The food is always perfect! I always have the Chicken Cesar Salad, but I have had some of their sandwiches and soups and have never been disappointed. Environment is cozy and clean. Staff is always friendly and I have never had a meal that was not of the best quality. If you are in Media and want to try something new check them out, you will not be disappointed.

I said G'damn that's good samwich!!! Good lord and all that is holy--let me get this straight... you're gonna give me a dagwood sandwich with a hefty and meaty filet of salmon topped with sauteed spinach, fresh grilled mushrooms, roasted peppers, and provolone cheese on a perfectly baked round roll for $6.25?? You're serious? God Bless You. This is one fantastic sandwich shop (that has more than just sandwiches), a new lunch favorite during the work week. I will return again and again and again.

I am pretty critical when it comes to food and I cannot believe I found this little place in downtown Media. I came here in between my jury duty...ordered the salmon caesar salad and it was sooooooooooo delicious! This place is really tiny but you get really high quality food. Cannot go wrong here and the price is super affordable!
