The burgers were good very juicy and filling. The chili was gross it had atleast a 1/4 cup of grease on top of it. I poured it off and it tasted like grease. I brought it up to the counter the young man said" we do not make it here we get it in a container. All we do is heat it up" He stated he could not do anything about it. I was suprised on his answer and did not even offer something in place of it. I will think twice before going back.

While buying fireworks we decided to give this place a try. What I found was an experience completely different from what the two previous reviewers noted. The burger was delicious and juicy. I got mine with grilled onions and sweet peppers and it was fantastic. The French fries were hot and crunchy, though they could have been a tad more cooked for my liking, maybe hotter oil would be better. My daughter got a shake which she called "maybe the best I ever had." All in all a great experience.

If you want a burger bursting with flavor and juices, where the tender beef melts in your mouth like butter. Go to Jake's. Good, solid burgers, 'nuff said.

This is exactly what this area needs -- a good burger joint with reliable quality food and good service. It's an inexpensive meal with a great atmosphere. Don't miss the milkshakes!

I think I'm fairly spoiled for burgers. Jake's doesn't hold a candle to the Five Guys or the Shake Shacks of the world, but it's an unpretentious, clean, inviting little place which does what it does pretty well. My first thought was that the burgers were oddly reminiscent of McDonald's - that's not necessarily perjorative, everyone knows McD's is the devil but I'll happily go there once in a while. It provides useful perspective - the Double Bacon Jake especially is basically an upscale Big Mac with bacon on it. It's tasty stuff but nothing mindblowing. I thought at first that it was a little overpriced (~$15 for two burgers + onion rings) but that's basically what you'd pay at McDonald's for the same kind of thing, so... yeah. If you want junk food, you can search around and do a lot better but you can also very easily do a lot worse. Bonus points if you're seeing a movie at Majestic Cinemas, because this place is literally next door.

Good burgers. Clean. We both enjoyed our meals. We will be back. My only negative comment was the price. My friend got a rodeo burger and onion rings, and I got a cheeseburger and fries, both were combo meals. We each got a junior shake, him strawberry, and mine, chocolate malt. They were both very good, but tiny, and nearly $3.00 each'll. Looking back we both did say we couldn't have finished the food if they were any bigger. Give it a try. It was $25.00.

This place was clean, but the burger was uninspired. It wasn't horrible, but kind of blah and not worthy of a trip back.

The burgers are cooked to order, but are about 3oz patties, so they are cooked past well done with very little char from the grill. The over cooking drys them out, but the toppings are fresh and add a little juice. The bun is standard, but sturdy enough to hold the burger without falling apart. The fries are fresh, crisp and hot, although they are frozen. The onion rings are real onions, not chopped and molded, with a crispy slightly sweet coating, actually pretty good. The milkshakes are ok but not the old school handmade drugstore variety, even though they are served in a silver beaker. Overall Jakes is a step up from Wendy's, and in a totally different class than McDonalds or Burger King. It's still fast food, but at least it's made fresh and served hot.

Stopped by on a road trip to Mass. Since it was right by the Wendy's we decided to go for the non mass chain burger. It was decent and the fries were good. Not even close to my favorite burger place Five Guys but it beat Wendy's.

Its website touts "big, juicy hand-made burgers" but that's not what I was served. It's a fast food burger, in the pile-those-toppings-on style of Five Guys, but with a drier patty. The bun was large and tasteless. Fries are ok. I didn't get a shake but that's something I would go back to try. Definitely not the burger. Good luck to them; they're in direct competition with Wendy's next door.
