Had a great farm fresh egg omlette close to Interstate 80 in this little village. The staff was very warm and hospitable, and I hope to visit again when I will be on the way back. Hope there can be more of these mom and pop places that value their food around the interstate.

Unfortunately driving through the Pennsylvania wilderness means there's not a whole lot of options for food. But this place seemed like it came highly recommended on Yelp. When we walked in, we saw that there were three filled tables and learned that the other remaining tables were reserved for a party of 18. (This place is adorable but tiny. If possible, make a reservation.) We were starving and trying to make good time, so we opted just to get our lunch to-go. The waitresses who helped us were accommodating and helpful. I ordered a mushroom frittata and my mom ordered grilled chicken over greens. We also added two cinnamon rolls to the list, based on a recommendation from a Yelp reviewer. While we waited, we checked out the gift shop upstairs (cute and handmade but very pricey) and used the bathroom (which was clean). We took our food back to our car, and my mom started driving while I opened the container with my food. The first thing I noticed was that the serving size seemed small. Also the curious thing was that our food was stored in styrofoam containers but my frittata was barely warm. Surprising considering there had been no delay in food delivery from the kitchen, leading me to believe it hadn't been properly heated in the first place. The texture of the eggs in the frittata should be fluffy, but it was almost rubbery. The side salad of mesclun greens was crisp and very fresh but it was small. Then I moved onto the cinnamon roll, which I was really looking forward to. They looked questionable in the display case, but I figured it was a case of me being overly picky (after all, they were Yelp recommended). But I can easily say it was the worst cinnamon roll I've ever had. The dough was dense, like no leavening had been used. Even worse, the usual cinnamon roll filling that's dark brown and the consistency of wet sand was strangely made with so much white sugar that there were pale chunks of it that had been melted and hardened, which made the pastry both too sweet and unpleasant in texture. The usual white icing on top had also hardened and would break off in chunks. I don't think my explanation really did justice to how terrible eating just a small portion of this was, so please see my pictures. My mom didn't even end up eating her cinnamon roll because she said my comments matched up with how it looked. She said her chicken over greens was good, but the salad was much smaller than she expected for an entree. Two stars for this place is generous, but the waitresses who work here are so sweet. Not sure what I'm missing that other reviewers have experienced. I would say this may be the best place to eat in the area, but its food is a little pricey and definitely not anything special.

Lovely on all counts! Delicious homemade food-the minestrone was amazing! Clean and neat as a pin, warm reception and adorable gift shop with crafts and some great treasures. A great respite off the road.

Had a great lunch in this tiny village not too far from the US80. Dining area is only a handful of antique tables (including one surrounded with the eponymous yellow chairs). Simple menu, mostly sandwiches, salads and soups. We had the tuna melt and the buffalo chicken wrap (which was fantastic). Extremely attentive service by one of the owners. Our girls found some hand-made pieces from the upstairs gift shop.

When I lived in PA, I went to Six Yellow Chairs a few times for lunch. The tuna salad sandwiches on croissants are delicious. I also enjoyed the salad I had, but I cannot remember the details. They have a very original menu. The owner let us try their freshly baked cinnamon buns, on the house, and they rocked my taste buds. I had banana bread with bananas foster ice cream (made in-house), with a few pieces of pineapple and a caramel drizzle. It was delicious and pretty! The decor is adorable and quaint. The gift shop upstairs has a very limited selection, but most items are locally made. I adored my experience here!

Traveling through PA on I-80, just west of state college lies this little gem. Only a 5min ride off of the highway, and well worth it. Quaint, cozy, and clean restaurant with delicious food. This family owned restaurant is in a renovated old general store. Small gift shop upstairs and the some of merchandise is made by the family (we bought a few pillows). The food was delicious all homemade and fresh. We stopped for breakfast, the French toast was phenomenal and the omelette was fluffy and filling. We travel frequently from Philadelphia to Chicago on 80 and plan to make this a regular stop from now on.

What a great place! We stopped on a whim en route from Boston, MA to Cincinnati and are glad we did! Everything was fresh, homemade (even down to the salad dressings) and delicious--we had the apple and candied pecan salad, the tuna panini, a bowl of the cream of mushroom soup and cheesecake. Yum, and the owner and chef were very hospitable and warm.

On our way from NYC to Detroit and it was the perfect spot to stop for some clean wholesome eating. I'm so happy I yelped in the area. Service and food was great; quick, kind and delicious!

We love 6 Yellow Chairs! I take my daughter there all the time to eat, it's the only place in the area that offers clean eating. All of the food is made of fresh, healthy ingredients and prepared with care and good presentation. I've never had a bad meal there. The staff is great, they all remember our names and greet us every time we come in. They're very accommodating and care about their business. The atmosphere is very quaint and inviting. I love the décor and the gift shop upstairs as well. I only wish we had more businesses like this one. The only thing I can complain about is the portion size, they could stand to increase it a little but I never leave there feeling so full I feel sick. There menu is light and healthy though and I like that.

Absolutely charming restaurant with great homemade food! Enjoyed Tuscany soup and a chicken salad croissant for lunch. Service was excellent. Spoke with one of the owners who couldn't have been more friendly or accommodating. Highly recommend, very close to I80, well worth the slight side trip! Try it!
