Wifie and I decided on a inexpensive change of pace from our favorite local restaurants. We went to Lancers Diner/Restaurant on 611 across from the former Naval Air Station for the first time. Mary Ann decided on a cup of chili (thick enough that the spoon can stand up) and thoroughly enjoyed it. She then chose the chicken quesidilla served with the usual sides of salsa and sour cream. I didn't hear any complaints so I assume that was good also. I started off with a cup of the chicken rice soup (the other choice was cream of asparagus). They also have a beautiful salad bar available with all entrees. My main course was good old 1/2 a chicken with fresh carrots and asparagus. Delicious and a more than kind portion. We opted to stay away from dessert but let me tell you that what they had in choices "I gained weight" just looking at the different cakes, pies, and pastries. Not often these days that you can walk out of a restaurant full, satisfied, and the bill for two was $30 with gratuity. A special thank you to our server "Jaimee" who was a pleasure.

I love this place ! I probably come here once a week! Usually I stick to the salads they provide because they always are huge and so flavorful but the menu is just right with a variety of breakfast lunch and dinner items! The service is great with friendly servers (they all know what I love to order) ! I will always come here when I need fast food that fills my stomach and tastes great !

Just enjoyed a nice brunch with my wife at Lancers. Just about every time we go (about 4, 5 times a year, for the past 15 years), we have the bagel & lox platter. Reading the reviews of my co-yelpers, I've learned that Lancers has an exceptional French Onion soup. I did not know that! It's on my list for next time. Lancers is one of this area's great businesses. It's been here for decades. In the early years of dating my wife, we'd love to sit in a booth by one of the front windows. Occasionally we'd be treated to a Navy jet landing or taking off from the Willow Grove NAS, just across the street. Now we like sitting in the side room, to the right of the register - out of the sun. I've never had a complaint about the food, or the service. Everyone is very nice. We try to be as generous as possible with the tip. The waitresses have always been as hospitable as any other place. Why should they be penalized because the food costs considerably less? About the food - you get a generous portion for a reasonable price. The portion served is easily manageable by a normal appetite. Unlike a certain other diner a little further down the road, where they bring you a lot of food- but it's bland and unedible even at the table, much less the leftovers at home. That diner can't hold a candle to the legendary Lancers. Giving Lancers Diner 4 out of 5 stars - but only because you can't watch the Warthogs taking off anymore. But that's not Lancers fault. Stupid penny-pinching Navy!

Our waitress was Janice and she's fantastic. The food was good and hot although they need a new bread for white toast. Love the decor, nice and relaxed. Clean and open atmosphere, great restaurant.

I love this diner. The waitresses are always so nice. I am always happy with the classic diner food. The fact that they are open all night is wonderful.

Lancers Diner is one of my favorite diners around !!!! I have NEVER been disappointed by their service or food. I especially love their specialty Lacas coffee - a different flavor is featured each month. Along with the great food and service, Lancers is extremely clean , which often is an issue with other diners !! I highly recommend that you request Samantha for your server!! She is so personable and welcoming! I was so impressed that she actually remembered waiting on my son and me, which was a while back! The only request I have for Lancers is that they add turkey bacon to the menu !

I'm a vegan, so I'm happy to see that veggie burgers was an option on their menu. Plus, they have free refills for coffee!

This is diner chow at its absolute best. Their salad bar is like a Ferrari. Compact, Mediterranean and packed w/ tasty goodies like Dolmas ( stuffed grape leaves), creamed herring, olive medly and squid salad. I had a diner classic, L & O or liver and onions. It was tender and cooked as ordered, med-rare. Delicious and satisfying. I wish my schedule had allowed for another opportunity to eat there again. I would give five stars after a second visit with the same experience.

Today we went in for brunch, we were met by the hostess who seated us near the rear ( which was fine ) but once the waitress came over the entire meal was just '' painful '', by that she was rude, because my wife had to use the rest room & just was seated when she demanded our order, she was miffed that we asked to given us a few moments, She bought us unsweetened iced tea that had a after taste, the cheese omelet was over cooked, the home fries were burnt, pancakes were small by other restaurant standards, this place has been around for a long time but with what we saw we will never be back because we do not like being rushed through our meal when the place was pretty empty so there wasn't a back-log of people waiting to be seated. All good things must come to an end ......... sad

This is one of my favorite diners in the area. They are 24/7 which is convenient for my work schedule. I love their French onion soup and the salad bar has grape leaves and bread pudding which are a few of my favorite foods. They serve breakfast all the time and have a more limited menu overnight, but still a great selection of food. The servers are very nice and they have plenty of parking. I used to come here with my dad when he would get off work at the Willow Grove Naval Air Base (15+ years ago) so it will always have a special place in my heart!

Here in the same location since 1942, and with good reason. This is a first-class diner restaurant, and while some of the detractors on here obviously expect too much from a DINER, it's got a solid reputation of able service, good food. (WHO comes to a diner for snapper soup? Really??) Diners are made or broken on their quick service, decent execution of typical "diner food" (Breakfast, burgers, and various regional favorites for dinner). Lancers pulls it off exceptionally well, almost always. My favorite which I had again today was a petite order of chicken croquettes (2), on mashed potatos. It came with 2 side vegetables, a cup of soup, a drink, and the salad bar. WHO could beat all that for $11.12? WHO? Anyone who expects 5-star froufy French cuisine from a diner will be less than impressed but they're obviously not familiar with diner food. As a road-side quick eats and friendly atmosphere destination, Lancers is among the best in all of Pennsylvania. That's the reason they've been here for 70+ years. Anyone finding fault obviously is having a bad day or a caustic critic. 5-stars, from me.

Lancer's is a conveniently located and popular place. I ate there last Saturday at a late breakfast or early lunch timeframe, and the place was mobbed. We had no trouble getting seated, but I did overhear a patron who entered behind us saying that this was the time to go to Lancer's. Clearly, people enjoy it there. We ordered coffees and shared a plate of eggplant fries. Amazing! The vegetables were crisply fried up and liquefied upon eating. It was the first time I'd had this particular dish, but it certainly won't be the last. I also got a crock of French onion soup. It's my favorite, but it never fails to be too hot...until now. It wasn't any better or worse than any other time I have ordered it in a diner, but the perfect temperature of it needs to be mentioned. For our entrees, I got the meatloaf and a side of hot pickled beets, upon the recommendation of our waitress. Diner meatloaf tends to be greasy, but this wasn't. It even had some flair in the presentation, the square cuts of loaf piled artfully upon one another, christened with brownest of gravy and sprinkled with iridescent green parsley. It wasn't hard on the tongue, either. The pickled beets tasted like dirt, but I've heard this is how they are supposed to be. I've driven past this place a great deal and I am in the area a lot. An experience like this guarantees another visit.

I've been here many times since moving to the area. It's a solid, cheap diner. The service is friendly and fast, and while the food isn't going to win a Michelin star, it's better than a lot of diners, which explains why there's always a solid wait on the weekends.

Had a family breakfast there a couple of weeks ago. I thought it was a great they could accommodate 12 people for Sunday breakfast. Service was great. Prices are decent. Food was good. I don't live in the area, so I'm not sure how often I would return, but I would certainly return if I was nearby. I ordered an egg white sandwich on wheat toast with fruit. I think it was under $6 and it was filling. I did try my husbands omelet, it was standard. I enjoyed my breakfast and it's definitely worth a visit if you are close by.

Definitely on my "diner rotation". Most of my visits have been for breakfast but I have eaten lunch here once. All the food was good; great banana cream pie! The owner/manager is very friendly and will engage in small talk and walk around the restaurant to make sure all is well. Also love the nostalgic Navy photos on the walls since is sits across the street from the now defunct Will Grove Naval Air Station. If your in the area or travelling by on the turnpike, stop in!

I like this place. It's clean and service is always nice and attentive! We usually come for a late weekend breakfast. My favorite are the banana walnut pancakes (with chocolate chips). Always delicious! For lunch, we love the chicken croquettes.

Lancers diner has decent food, and a really nice view of the old willow grove naval air station. I love looking out the window at the abandoned property. It's so interesting! And the view will probably change soon. Lancers draws a strange crowd. Keep your eyes on your own table.

The other day when it was 2 degrees out my boyfriend and I needed a hot meal to warm us up and start our day. A few people I work with has recommended lancers and I'm glad they did! We both got the creamed chip beef and loved it. I really liked how this was an old school kind of diner and it seemed like there was a lot of time and love taken into making our meals. Extra plus was that our breakfast was on special so the whole meal plus tip was around $20. Pretty sweet! I will be back lancers!

After moving to the area from South Jersey, I was itching to find a go-to diner. When we found Lancers, my hope was restored. We've been here several times for breakfast. The food has been consistently delicious, service has been extremely attentive, quick and friendly, and prices are super reasonable. This is a diner done right. Give it a try!

  • Bob L.

I've been to Lancers many times over many years. This last time it took 3 tries to get a simple sandwich correct. When the old bent over woman came to the table to ask how our meal was I responded in the negative. Apparently saying something negative is a joke and it's time to move on to the next customer completely ignoring negative comment. I was frankly stunned by the total incompetence of the restaurant staff today.

Good meal at reasonable prices. The wait is usually never long with prompt service. Bring the family. BYOB I come here often

DINER FOOD...as you walk in the old familiar smell of 'the diner' blankets you and immediately the feeling of being all warm and fuzzy and completely starving hits you like a ton of bricks! They have a flair to the greek here at Lancers and it's great! They have a nice small salad bar type thing with lots of greek ish dishes on it. They have a huge menu to choose from and the service is really nice and fast too! I got the gyro (pronounced herrrr'o says the waitress from Greece - good.to .know) with no pita and a side of sweet potato fries which only cost $1 more. The fries were ok, I would have like some kind of dip to go with them but they were nice and crisp. The meet and tatziki sauce was delicious! My friend got the cheesestake and it was pretty loaded and looked good. They also have a huge bakery case and it all looks delicious....oh to have an open invitation to that bad boy - I would end up in the hospital with a sugar overdose. Good patrons - Good staff - Good location - Good food...can't go wrong.

This was my first time going to the diner this food was good until I found hair in my food... would never go back there again....

  • Christopher J.

Not too different from any other run of the mill diner... I had the snapper soup... I've had better but it was a nice hearty bowl of warmth on a cold day. My friend had a very cafeteria looking salad... Good, not great. Keep expectations low and this will be a worthwhile stop.

  • Steve K.

Recently there late at night...service was fine and friendly, all the food was good - the prices are relatively low but the food is decent - I had a shrimp salad sandwich, my wife had a chicken gyro, and my BIL had a turkey caesar wrap. There were no complaints - the place is very clean and that included the men's room. On other occasions we have had very nice breakfasts here and they have quite a few specials for breakfast... Just bear in mind it's a diner, a very good diner but not Parc!

Good food, quick service, friendly staff. I go here once or twice a month, usually late at night when everything else is closed. Typically we will all order breakfast at all hours, because that's how we roll :) Pancakes are always fluffy, and I LOVE getting the fruit on them. Definitely made the way I like it! Never have to wait long for our food, and the staff is always happy to accomodate. A few times I went the customers were a little rowdy and vile while my kids were sitting with me, and while the waitress looked on she was hesitant to say anything. So I docked a star because I think maintaining a family friendly atmosphere should definitely be high on any family based establishments priority list. But on the bright side, the food is yummy and the staff is friendly and it's located very conveniently on Easton Road! Never really an issue parking or getting a table. Good for them! Prices are SLIGHTLY on the high side for some items, but not all together unreasonable by any means. I'm also eager to see what the place looks like when they are finished their much needed facelift! It was slightly old fashioned, not in a retro nostalgic way but a little dated way.

In the context of diners, its the best one in the area. Everything tastes homemade and fresh. Generous salad bar and excellent prices make this diner a favorite. Good sevice and an owner/manager who's usually making the rounds making sure the patrons are happy.

You know when you were a little kid and you couldn't wait to get to the bottom of your Cracker Jacks to see your prize? Well, there it was, buried under the scrambled eggs I had almost finished eating - an eyelash! The cashier/hostess asked if I told my waitress. I told her I didn't see much of my waitress - not after I first sat down, not to fill my coffee cup that two other waitresses did for me or to have to wait to get my check. I call that either a lazy bum or a cigarette smoker. Nice retro uniform though. Can't give eggs with an eyelash a thumbs up. Home fries and Canadian bacon tasted good though.

As diners go, this hits the mark. This is a real diner, with diner food priced accordingly, not a gourmet restaurant, and they do it well. It is the best diner in the area. They have a good salad bar and an extensive menu. The food is good, the place is clean, and the service is always great. When I want a diner, Lancer's is where I go.

    (5)
  • Nick A.

It's a diner. It's an old school diner. Now, I need you to know that I will never order anything except breakfast from a diner. With that out of the way, Lancer's is good. It's clean. It's open late. It's cheap. They have everything. No frills, good service, and they don't screw up omlettes. To my surprise, a lot of places do.

Great value diner I visited for lunch with coworkers. Menu was expansive and we(group of 4) can vouch that the food was good and priced well. I had an Italian Sausage with onion rings. The rings were homemade and really good. Sandwich was tasty so well. One guy had a open face turkey sandwich nothing remained. Another had the French for sandwich and French onion soup, the soup being superb according to him. Lastly a chipotle chicken wrap was consumed and rated really good as well... Take away all the food was good try the onion rings. Also had lots of deserts and breakfast options... we all paid about $8-12 for lunch...

I love Lancers because it offers an affordable, no frills, take of diner food. No matter what time (24hrs), their breakfast is solid and affordable. From cremed chipped beef, corn beef hash, scrapple - all consistent and cooked perfectly. And for those looking for something sweet, the banana nut waffles are awesome. Plenty of parking but it gets busy Sunday mornings.

    (4)
  • P M W.

The absolute worst. Service is slow and inattentive, unless one is a regular, because the staff loved standing around and joking with the guys they knew, instead of waiting on tables. We waited for the waitress every step of the dining process. Silverware dirty. Food so bad, we sent it back (chicken croquettes and turkey dinner.) Then we got new orders of different food, and they were bad as well. Salad bar was not fresh. Didn't dare try the desserts.

Yea talk about late night to the rescue. Ended up in Penn. on business and stayed in this town. Very nice, clean town. Real big fan of the atmosphere in itself, but only one problem- no where to eat late! Me and the film crew were buggin' heavy and did not want Wendy's, again. Luckily Lacer's was just down the street and open. Typical old fashioned diner menu. Of course I grabbed the Philly, but was not even close to the one I had at Jakes Steak's- either way I'm not really judging at this point, neither is my integumentary system.

Stopped by Lancers over the weekend for a late night meal. They're in the process of giving the diner an interior facelift and it's definitely an improvement. Having been to some legendary diners over the decades (Mastoris in Bordentown comes to mind ... back before patrons showed up by the busload), Lancers has a ways to go. But for average to above average fare with a friendly waitstaff, Lancers is A-OK.

    (3)
  • Dilenia A.

Talk about discrimination to the fullest degree!!! If you're not white don't go!!! Horrible service, waited 10 minutes before the waitress came to see if we wanted something to drink & take our orders. Not attentive at all or friendly staff.

This is a can't-miss choice for a diner when you are in the Willow Grove area. Especially good for breakfast. I've had several business breakfasts there, and I was never embarrassed. Tasty food, pleasant service, very good prices. One downside: The salad bar was barely acceptable in terms of variety or quality. But that's okay; just order from the menu!

    (3)
  • Krifka S.

I'm a fan of Lancers- the lunch prices are all around $7 (including a drink), and the salad bar has a nice variety of marinated vegetables (killer marinated tomatoes) and old fashioned salads like 3-bean, potato salad, seafood salad mixed in with some more interesting items (than your typical diner salad bar) like bruschetta, feta, chickpea salad and tabbouleh etc. The soups are ok, but the battered french fries are a must do. My husband is now a big fan of the cheeseburger and milkshake combo. We have always felt welcome here and occasionally we get a free cookie or two. Is it fine dining? No, Good food for a fair price? Yes

Lancers has good quality food, prompt service and very reasonable prices. While on a recent business trip to the area, Lancers provided a great alternative to chain food locations. I ended up stopping in twice, once for breakfast, and another time for dinner. The breakfast crew clearly didn't like me using my laptop and I got the feeling that I was cut-off on Coffee at two cups, but luckily I had some co-workers meet me there so once they got there, I was able to sneak in a refill. : ) Darn good food though. I will remember this place and be back should I have to revisit the area!

I know that this has nothing to do with the visual arts, but the salad bar at Lancer's Diner, 858 Easton Road, Horsham, PA, telephone 215-674-5088, is a work of art! For an amazingly affordable price, one has a choice of all you can eat supplies of a delicious cold calamari, Greek dolmas, two or three different tomato offerings, garbanzo salad, a couple of bean salads, a couple of potato salads, Greek olives, plus the usual assortment of salady things. There's also plenty of fresh fruit and a killer bread pudding. I also love their Shepperd's Pie. It is huge! I have never been able to finish it off. They also have great desserts. And, if you get a window seat, you can also enjoy the ferocious looking A-10's land and take-off across the street at the Willow Grove Naval Air Station.

I love a good diner. I'm a Jersey Girl, it's a requirement. Lancers is a great diner. T and I had just finished admiring our future home and decided to try out a diner in the area, hoping to find a gem for future Sunday breakfasts. Bingo! This place was perfect. No-nonsense waitresses, a drool-worthy bakery counter and a decent looking salad bar. We were seated immediately and perused the extensive menu. We both ordered eggs with hash browns. Sausage for him, bacon for me. Wheat toast for him, English muffin for me. Everything was delicious and cooked to perfection. I get my eggs over medium which is a very hard egg to cook. The bacon was crisp, the hashbrowns were crunchy and there were no onions. :) T also said the coffee was great, very fresh. All of the above AND it was cheap! I think the whole bill was about $15 ... I can't wait to try other menu items here. We were sitting next to a table of teenagers and one of the girls got a chicken cheesesteak which looked awesome. Trying that next if we go for lunch or dinner!

Open 24 hours each day, the diner offers a vast breakfast , lunch and dinner menu, plus appetizers ( snacks ) for the late night crowds. They also have an in house bakery with a complete line of fresh baked goods. They also are known for their unique salad bar. They offer seafood, steaks, burgers and homemade specialties along with five other specials daily. They have won many awards. They have been in business for many years by the same Greek family. The menus are American with a Greek influence from salads, sandwiches to entrees. Check therm out in person or pre-check them @ lancersdiner.com

I would have given this restaurant more starts if you could in fact still see an "airshow" while enjoying your meal, but the airfield is now closed as of Mar 2011. This is a great place as its open 24 hours, I have been here at 3am and service & food was great . The french toast is great made with thick slices of toast (1 inch thick). OJ, bacon, eggs, toast, hashbrown are always on point. Pick this place over iHop!!

Good pie! It's an old-fashioned, friendly diner. Reminds me of places I went as a kid in the '70s. Maybe it's when we went there, but it felt a little dreary. Servers seemed a little listless. We only had desserts when we went, so I can't speak to the other dishes. Probably not the healthiest menu, but it's a refreshing alternative to the sea of chair restaurants in the area. Not many places like this left, so worth a visit.

Lancer's is one of those trusty, always there for you, kind of diners. It's not fine dining, but it's comfort food. 24 hours a day. As soon as we sat down they asked us for our drinks brought us delicious fresh coffee just seconds later. I definitely need my coffee as soon as i sit down, so i was very pleased. I got the chocolate chip pancakes, and let me tell you there was lots and lots of chocolate chips in it. they also give you four pancakes which is the perfect amount. my grandmother got banana nut pancakes and for some reason hers came with a mountain's worth of whipped cream. not sure why i didn't get any (which is ok, i'm not even close to wanting that much whipped cream), but it might be safe to ask if you're getting a fancier pancake than your normal run of the mill kind. i also hate when they forget to refill your coffee. i tend to have this problem at restaurants. but this place didn't do that! they asked me as they could see me getting low. the waitresses tend to be older which is sort of nice because they have that older lady "lemme call you sweetheart" kind of charm which i like. this is a very comfortable place. we were in and out in no time. no rush. it was very pleasant.

Smells like urine inside! I felt like I was eating in a hospital or nursing home. What happened to this place? It used to be good. Apparently, they spent all of their money on renovating the outside, while ignoring the inside. A very depressing place to eat.

I give 5 stars based only on one, today's experience. We planned to have breakfast but somehow did not make it until about 4;30 pm and learned that we have just missed breakfast time. Unwillingly (last time I had fish in diner it wasn't good...) I took salmon, Greek-style (the other choice was Cajun-style). It was huge and delicious! Came with soup, salad bar, two choices of side dishes - we have come home ready for siesta. Ah, and thank you yelpers for reviewing it! That's what made me go there and I'm glad I did. -------------------------------------- After many more visits to this diner five stars still hold. Excellent place! i'm really happy - now when the winter is close- that they have vegetable soup! PLEASE Lancers always have a vegetarian soup too! ---------------------------------------------- I like this place, but NOT in cold weather when I need to eat something warm and few times so far they haven't offered any vegetarian soup, and their salad bar has only cold dishes. But breakfast is great!

Too bad I can't give this place a negative star. We sat at the counter, was served hot tea, and then waited for someone to return, we waited for over 20 minutes, ignored by wait staff, of which there were plenty. We even said we were ready to order several times. When we walked out, they couldn't decide if we should be charged for the tea we eventually got. ONe of us was charged, while one of us wasn't! What, is Norton from the Honeymooners in charge of this place? Why we stopped there, I will never know. Anytime we did eat there, the omelets were oily and greasy with a horrible oil taste, so were the potatoes, and no flavor whatsoever. Even catsup, salt and pepper couldn't save those things. McDonalds is great compared to this dive.

One of the worst breakfasts I have had. Everything tasted like it was made from cheap boxed ingredients.

Went here the first time the other day, I'll probably give it another try in the future. It's in a convenient location, open 24/7 and has a nice diner feel too the place. The decor looks delightfully 70's and is in remarkable condition considering it's age. I like that the menu is a manageable size. Diners that have huge menus worry me about the freshness of their ingredients. I had coffee, a slice of apple pie and some water. We were served quickly, but the apple pie was bland so I only took a few bites. I also had to hunt down the waitress for refills on more than one occasion. Next time I go, I'll order real food and will update my review accordingly.

No one beats Lancers for tasty and inexpensive meals! The premium salad bar is worth the trip alone Thursday through Sunday. Family-friendly, efficient wait staff, clean booths and tables, all-inclusive inexpensive dinners, and great food. This is the gem of Bucks-Montgomery-Philadelphia counties. UPDATE: I had to bring the reviews down because something has changed at Lancers. Great atmosphere, good staff, clean, nice salad bar, delicious coffee, however, -often too cold in the restaurant (611 side). Many people keep their jackets on. -food is over salted, especially soup -poor-quality bread is often stale (or reheated, then stales quickly) -dinners are mediocre after prime dinner hours -breakfast is oily (pancakes and eggs) -salad bar items have been rancid a few times later at night or on slow days -prices are raised but food quality has diminished. -meatballs are terrible

Best diner in the area. Best value in town. Soup, salad bar, entree, 2 vegetables, dessert, & beverage usually for under $15. They do fried foods, really well, such as the Chicken Parmigiana, fried shrimp, etc. Good fish. Peel and eat shrimp on salad bar Thurs-Sun. Friendly staff. Great lunch menu. Good chile. Plenty of parking.

Right across the street from the business end of an old airfield sits the somewhat dated Lancer Diner. I've enjoyed both breakfast and lunch in this establishment and can declare that it is a very good value for the area. The breakfast is a stand out value here and the service and staff have always seemed attentive. The salad bar with the daily diner special is quite over the top, if you go home hungry you have issues. Not quite on par with some of the better Jersey diners but not bad for the PA side.

Traditional Diner with some great seafood items. Friendly and fast service. Salad bar is good. I tried Bluefish, and it was fresh and tasty. My friends had burger and fries, and they were quite happy. Their Raspberry Ice tea was good with the food. Would love to go back again!

I struggled over whether to give this classic 3 or 4 stars. I went with three, but as evidenced by my struggle you can probably read that as 3 and a half. I've been to this place quite a few times but not in about 5 years. So this review will be based on what you can expect to get there now. The service is fast and friendly. Atmosphere is pretty standard. It was nice but nothing stuck out. Bakery looked to still be in fine shape, however, I did not partake. Prices are very cheap, even on the cheap side for a diner. The high point of the food for me honestly was the salad bar. It has a wide variety with many out of the ordinary things like calamari salad, herring??, bread pudding, beet salad, greek olives, stuffed grape leaves, many other pasta'y potato-y salads too. I particularly enjoyed the chunks of feta and the beet salad. I ordered the meatloaf and fries for my meal which was kinda sub par. The meatloaf appeared to have visited the microwave before arriving at my table and that just kinda makes me cringe. There was essentially no flavor to it as well. Kind of just tasted like ground meat patty's. There was a gravy which had a decent flavor, but was too thick for my liking and i also just don't really like gravy all that much and feel it is often overused to compensate for other things. The bread pudding from the salad bar was not great which was disappointing since I've been craving some solid bread pudding for a while now. All in all it wasn't as good as remembered, but close. It is absurdly cheap if you get a dinner special like I did. I think it was 6.45 for the salad bar, a soup(split pea forgot to mention that), and an entree, and there is dessert at the salad bar, though only bread pudding and it's not that good. I like to look at the military planes too, across the street.

  • Stella H.

Dependable diner fare whenever you're in the mood since it's open 24/7. Combination of booths and tables - booths overlook the Willow Grove Airbase, which is sometimes either a source of awe and entertainment if you enjoy watching the military planes and jets fly in/out, or a nuisance if you are bothered by the loud noise the planes can sometimes produce. Breakfast is especially busy on the weekends, but they are efficient and move folks in and out with ease, without making you feel rushed. Large menu with something for everyone; sandwiches, dinners, munchies and pretty decent bakery fare, as they have their own bakery on site. Easily a place I visit two or more times a week.

This diner is pretty good. I love their soups (always at least two selections, one of which always sounds right up my alley). My husband loves the salad bar which has shrimp on it (not sure if that's all the time or just dinner). For me the salad bar is just so-so because it doesn't have a dressing I like or any of the "toppings" I like. But it's not bad. And the soup is always good. Mostly I get chicken or veal parm here and it's really good. The portions are great sizes and the prices are low. Their lack of vegetables is usually a problem. When I get the parm I get two veggies on the side and it's hard to find one that actually qualifies as a veggie. One is called green bean marinara and it's not very good at all and the rest are like french fries, applesauce, or "starchy" vegetables - no other healthy green vegetables. Service is usually decent. But I'm giving it 4 stars because I love the parm, I love the soup, and I love that they serve Pepsi products (not a big Coke fan).

Lancers diner has decent food, and a really nice view of the old willow grove naval air station. I love looking out the window at the abandoned property. It's so interesting! And the view will probably change soon. Lancers draws a strange crowd. Keep your eyes on your own table.

I love this diner. The waitresses are always so nice. I am always happy with the classic diner food. The fact that they are open all night is wonderful.

Lancers diner has decent food, and a really nice view of the old willow grove naval air station. I love looking out the window at the abandoned property. It's so interesting! And the view will probably change soon. Lancers draws a strange crowd. Keep your eyes on your own table.

I like this place. It's clean and service is always nice and attentive! We usually come for a late weekend breakfast. My favorite are the banana walnut pancakes (with chocolate chips). Always delicious! For lunch, we love the chicken croquettes.

Yes

Not too different from any other run of the mill diner... I had the snapper soup... I've had better but it was a nice hearty bowl of warmth on a cold day. My friend had a very cafeteria looking salad... Good, not great. Keep expectations low and this will be a worthwhile stop.

In the context of diners, its the best one in the area. Everything tastes homemade and fresh. Generous salad bar and excellent prices make this diner a favorite. Good sevice and an owner/manager who's usually making the rounds making sure the patrons are happy.

Solid 5 star experience. Great home-cooking style dishes, friendly staff and fast service. I had a chicken soup and chicken salad sandwich, both exceeded expectations.
