One of the best restaurants I have ever been too. I travel all the way from Texas to eat at The Dream. I like the salad with fried chicken, but everything is good. The desserts are unreal. The service is great and the atmosphere is casual and inviting.

If you have any taste-buds left you will not enjoy it. If you are very old and do not mind food from a can that was microwaved to room temp., this restaurant is right for you! The quantities are generous but the taste is generally sweetish and do not resemble any of the flavours you would expect from your dish. I had the stuffed pork chops which were dry and tasteless except for the weirdly sweet gravy it was loaded with. I tried the meatloaf as well which tasted about the same. I will not be surprised if the food is also loaded with corn syrup.

Uncle Bill is in his 70's and acts like a juvenile in restaurants. Our server was Lisa. She kept up with all his requests, demands and tantrums. The woman has the patience of a saint. The food was good and the bill for 7 adults at breakfast was only $55. A great way to start the day. Thank you Lisa!

I come here with my four best friends and my one besties' daughter. So there was 6 of us and we usually order the same thing. We got there and our server told us the specials for the day and got our drinks. We sat and talked and then hurried and made our choices. She brought out the salads and bread and we just continued to talk. It seemed to take a little longer that night, but no big deal to me or anyone else. Our food finally came out and some of us got refills. I got chicken parm, it was good and there is a lot to it. Three of my friends got the turkey dinner, loved it, like always. My friend' s daughter got the kids chicken and fries. Lastly my other friend is in town from South Dakota, so she had a late lunch so she ordered two pieces of pies to try. She said the coconut creme was good and the cheesecake was ok, but the strawberries on it were mushy. Overall everything was good and we had a great time catching up. Our server gave us our space and came over when we needed something. I don't come here much because I live on the other side of town, but when I do come to meet up with my girls I always enjoy it.

The service was incredible, I went with my mom only a half hour before closing but they still let us in. We ended up staying 20 minutes past closing but the staff was still very welcoming. The meal was large and also quite tasty. I got the ribs and the sauce was tangy but good. Would highly recommend.

My expectations for The Dream were not high... as memory served me from when I was here last (12+ years) I didn't really care for the place. Upon arriving.. you can't help but notice the rooms and the crazy murals and decorations. Someone spent some serious time making this place appear interesting. But lets get to the real part of the review... The Food. I was really impressed with the healthy choices on the menu as well as the selection of everything else offered. I got the blackened Tilapia and Red potato's and found it to be really good. I also had a bowl of Ham and Lentil soup that was extremely well flavored. The rest of my group enjoyed there meals as well. The staff is really friendly and will assist you in any need. Overall I was really impressed with experience. It was a good meal.

The food is plentiful and at decent prices, and they've got a great bakery (I won't tell you what their best item is so that they don't run out of it next time I'm there--yeah, I'm a stinker). Their bread is freshly made and they serve it was this incredible cinnamon butter. Their menu is pretty varied. I tend to stick with the comfort food, which is all good. Their Italian food is also surprisingly very good.

The Dream is a home cooking resaurant. If you are looking for gourmet or Pan Asian or anything exotic you should go somewhere else. The food here is great home cooking. Roast beef, turkey and gravy, meatloaf, and the best baked goods. Very nice, simple atmosphere ...like moms house and reasonable prices. And the people here will bend over backward to make you happy. When I go to Altoona this is where we all want to go. Not that anyone who goes there cares what a review on Yelp says. This is a locals restaurant.

Woohoo. I get the honors of first review! Granted, this is a small restaurant in "historic" Hollidaysburg. Where I doubt many a Yelper has dared to visit. Off the beaten path, much? Yeah. But alas, this is where I'm stuck when I fulfill my filial duty and head home for the holidays now. Where our family is one of the very few Asians in central PA. So, this review is proof that I (and my family) in fact eat food other than Asian. (Occasionally.) I digress. So, The Dream Restaurant. I've actually been several times. Nothing particularly exciting. The food is well, boring. Baked fish. Simple homestyle favorites. Sides are uninspired -- baked potatoes, coleslaw, applesauce. Except they charge you more for veggies. You know, the cut-up frozen kind. Yeah, not cool in my book. So, really 2 stars in terms of taste. But an extra star for the sweets. Because sweets is the best part of any meal. Delicious baked goods -- homemade cream puffs, pies, cookies, brownies, oh my! Here's a thought. Skip dinner, go for dessert. Actually, screw that. Make dessert your dinner.

Extremely mediocre food. It definitely does not live up to it's name The Dream! If you like Ponderosa or Golden Corral you should walk out satisfied. Nice people and decent prices though.

This is a favorite restaurant in the area. The food is good, especially the baked goods. Service is generally friendly. Get here early on busy nights or you will be waitng for a while.
