Katie's Korner Cafe in the former Bruester's Ice Cream off of I79 north of Zelienople, PA. This restaurant was recommended by an employee at the Harmony Museum. On our first visit we were extremely pleased with the Chicken Strawberry Pecan Salad. It was a good portion and came with a very wide selection of fresh ingredients: chicken(Marinaded-grilled), lettuce, onion, cheese, strawberries, olives, tomatoes, and sugared pecans. It was excellent!! I also had a specialty hamburger that was also very tasty with lots of condiments. $8 + $7. We enjoyed this so much that we made a second trip to the restaurant within a month. It was just as excellent the 2nd visit, and I could not resist the banana cake for $1 - also excellent. It is advertized as home cooking.

As a local I can easily say this is the best ice cream spot in town. Notice I said ice cream considering Youngs Custard is not too far from here. There selection is massive and they even offer food. Although I have yet to try their food I can say the ice cream is a hit. My go to flavor is Raspberry Cheese Cake. My wife loves the Coffee flavor. After reading other reviews on here I am going to make it a point to try their food. I highly recommend if your passing through on a Summer day.

Stopped in here for dinner & ice cream after my silversmithing class at Appalachian Rock Shop in Zelienople. My Italian hoagie & fries were delicious, and the ice cream was superb. I got Belgian Dark Chocolate, and it was very chocolatey and perfectly smooth, without a hint of graininess - something which can't be said for every dark chocolate ice cream. Also, their fries are every bit as good as Kennywood's, And those of you who are familiar with their Potato Patch fries know that that's saying something. I'll definitely be back!

I haven't gotten past the ice cream here yet!! I am a regular here as they have a BIG selection of ice cream flavors. And their ice cream is delicious, not like that drab, tasteless crap sold in the stores here (oh, how I miss Blue Bell!!!!!). Try the German Chocolate Cake. Geez, a chocolate explosion. And I can't wait to try the Red Velvet Cake!! The service at the window is always friendly and with a smile. Maybe one of these days I'll go inside for a sandwich. But you'll certainly see there real soon at the ice cream window!!!

Please with the menu options. Nothing fancy, but it's got decent burgers and grilled cheese sandwiches. The fries are a good deal.

I have only had their ice cream once and I wasn't super impressed. Mint chocolate chip. It was good but not any better than the stuff from the grocery store. But since its the only place in the area besides Dairy Queen, they have the good fortune of having a bit of a monopoly. As far as the food is concerned, I really and truly wish the gentleman who sometimes works the counter would actually eat the dishes he serves at places that are famous for them. For instance, pork BBQ. Now at several places that are famous for BBQ in the south, their sandwiches are served with coleslaw on the sandwich. (Stameys in NC is my favorite and has been serving up barbecue since 1938) When I inquired what was on the BBQ sandwich, a smartalec reply of pork and sauce was all I received in response. That's fine and dandy, do you have any coleslaw you could put on it? Apparently I suddenly grew horns. Well can I get slaw on the side and ill just assemble to sandwich myself? Geesh! We returned at a later date and I ordered a hotdog. Two things: 1 hotdog chili does not have beans! And 2 I also happen to love a WV dog (chili and slaw). Don't advertise a hotdog with chili if you are going to just use the chili you serve in a bowl. The two arent interchangeable. Again it was as though I had horns when requesting slaw with chili. Dude expand your horizons just a bit and learn about how other people serve food in this world instead of alienating your customers when they ask. They cook their hotdogs on a flat top, so mine was definitely black by the time I received it, served on a buttered (yuck) and toasted hoagie roll with chill (with beans ARGH) and a vinegar slaw. I happen to enjoy vinegar based sales but between the huge amount of butter on the roll and the oil in the slaw, my hotdog was a sloppy mess. I wish I could give Katie's a better review, I really do! I just really am not ok with people who work in the food industry but don't try to educate themselves on what the rest of the world is doing. A business does not operate in a bubble. Learn from the masters, the great and well knowns that have survived for 100 years! And don't make your customers feel like idiots when they ask for something that is outside of your bubble. You might find out that it's pretty popular elsewhere for a reason! We will probably return to try out the chicken salad that another reviewer raves about but only because there are not a ton of restaurants to choose from in this area.

Great food (we had sandwiches, burgers, and a salad...all very good) and excellent service. The ice cream was amazing, large scoops/sizes for the price!

When we first came here to move, we were like 400 yards from this place and my family loved it. We ate there a couple times a week, or sneaking in for ice cream. Good food in a great location!

Great reason to get off I-79 (exit 88). Discovered for the first time today. We pass through several times a year and we will now make this a regular stop for lunch, coffee, or ice cream. Sandwiches, salads, ice cream and staff all great.

While visiting some friends in Harmony they shared the chicken salad from Katies Korner Cafe with me. It was absolutely delicious. Super simple white meat chicken salad. Fresh and yummy! I can't wait to visit again and try some of the other items.

The family has enjoyed sandwiches and ice cream on several occasions. Always well worth it and a favorite stop for us!

Living in a small town restaurant options are pretty limited so when katies korner came to town I was more than ready to try it. We usually get take out because the dining area is fairly small and the three tables they do have are seated directly across from the restroom which is quite unappealing and extremely close to the tables. I love the BLT, it's served on buttered bread cooked on the grill. My husband always gets the pittsburgh style pastrami sandwich and it's always piled high! The sandwiches and burgers are a very decent size and served with an abundance of fresh cut fries. The drawback is they are over priced, especially the ice cream!
