I bring people here now and then because they're usually impressed by the food... but I kind of just think it's meh. Whenever I call to order takeout, they talk really fast and I can't understand them. They sometimes forget to put things in my bag. The vegetable fried rice is soooo good, I will say that. I want a pound of it! Haha. But otherwise, not my favorite in the area. But definitely a good place to take guests and stuff. Oh and it's usually kind of empty-ish so it's good for dates. The first time I went here, it was on a date. It was nice and quiet.

If you want decent Chinese food in Glenside I'd recommend Jasmine on Easton Road. I've been to Queen a few times in the past year, including a visit in late December 2013. I thought the food was just so-so, and the staff disappeared after our food was served. We had to leave our table with our check in-hand and interrupt the staff's dinner to get their attention, pay and get out of there. Not sure that the Chinese-Sushi combo works for them. With a good number of decent Chinese food restaurants in the area, Queen is a last option.

One of the worse Asian restaurants I have ever gotten food from. The pad Thai was a bright pink and tasted like it was left out in the sun for about three days. The beef had the texture of mush and tasted like crap.

I was very happy to get a delivery outside our awesome city that was actually good and not too salty...greasy. the service was fast and they brought me a two liter of coke for free... it's hard when you are spoiled...

Love this place! Very good sushi for the cost. Not gourmet, but really very very good. Excellent selection, hours and delivery. You can't go wrong. Plus, it's strange to say, but the lady who answers the phone has the best phone etiquette ever. I'll admit, when I order out, I order a lot, and I usually have many special requests. Most pizza places I order from can't get an order of 'extra cheese' right but this place never misses. And after everything you order, you get the most polite "mhmm" assuring you that you've been heard. Philly Roll, "mhmm", Spicy Tuna Roll, "mhmm." It's amazing.

This is the best Chinese delivery to Arcadia University. Their lunch and dinner combinations are economical and a nice change from the dining hall. Not as good for dining in as the prices are higher and the service is slow. Also offers student discounts on orders $30+ so combine delivery orders with friends in dorms. Probably not the best if you're a true foody or looking for a nice date night- may want to step it up to Jasmine for that.

I ordered here a lot when my sister was in the hospital. Its usually really good. I get the sesame or general tso chicken.

My friends and I were going to the Lauryn Hill concert and wanted to eat before going to the concert. We chose Queen sushi because it is right next to the Keswick Theater and it was real convenient for us. My bff lives close by and suggested it also. She did state it isn't a fancy place, and it is a BYOB but said sushi is decent but not the best. Walking in, it looks like a hole in the wall. When we get to hostess stand she was on the phone and did not acknowledge us...Then a waiter seats us to our booth and we get settled in. Before we order we asked for wine glasses for our wine..when the waiter came back he came with 3 tumblers..yes tumblers for our wine.. It is a BYOB so they should have wine glasses.. When we first sat down they brought out complimentary fried noodles and duck sauce.. Which was nice. Then we ordered steamed dumplings... So yummy..the filling was very flavorful. Then we all ordered different rolls sushi rolls.. I wanted to add this restaurant also has Chinese food it is not only sushi. When our sushi came out they were ok not horrible but I definitely have had a lot better. I can't say the food was bad but not great ...now for service..they need more training.. I didn't expect the best service however some service would be nice. I must add..they do not have any desserts so if you are craving any thing sweet you may want to go somewhere else after you eat.. Overall it isnt bad but not great. I wouldn't go out of my way but of I'm in the neighborhood and craving sushi or Chinese food I would go in..

This place is a hit or miss. Been here three times and it's been a miss twice. I just moved to Keswick Village and I was so excited to have a place to get bubble tea and sushi within walking distance! I got bubble tea here the first day I moved, and was annoyed because they didn't seem to understand what I was ordering, and I was making myself very clear. Most of my anger erased when I (mostly) ended up getting what I ordered. Had chinese here with a large group, no problems, not the best not the worst. Tried to get bubble tea here again, hoping maybe it was just the person I originally dealt with, but alas, no. Too frustrating to order a dang bubble tea from here, and I now get my chinese take out from Yummy Yummy. I am disappoint.

What can I say? This place is the perfect local, low-key restaurant that provides consistently wonderful sushi. Why go anywhere else? Dine-in, take-out, or delivery-- they have me as a regular.

This place gets how to do it. Online ordering, with tip included! They show up when they say they will. The food! Great sushi for a perfect price. Just love this place.

I've gotten delivery from here on more than one occasion and it's usually a hit-or-a-miss. The crab rangoons are good, but my last ones were stale and chewy. The shrimp lo mein was sub-par. The super queen roll and the dragon roll, however, were surprisingly good and I'll probably stick to the sushi from now on when ordering from here. P.S. Unless you like your noodles an unnaturally bright pink color, I'd stay away from the pad Thai.

Such high hopes... People at work were hankering for sushi at lunch, which is a tall order in Jenkintown. We decided to make the drive over to Queen Sushi in Glenside. They offer Chinese and Japanese. That should have been a tip off, but it wasn't for me. The place isn't a dump or anything. It's clean, well maintained and decently lit. I got a spicy tuna roll and a salmon crunch roll. They have lunch specials that are under $11. It just wasn't that good. The texture was weird and the rice rice wasn't sticky sushi rice. No one else in the group liked the rolls they got either. My more melodramatic friend is concerned he has food poisoning. Maybe they are just a better Chinese place. The egg roll I got was the best thing there.

We ordered dinner because they were the only place with sushi that would deliver. Ordered online and paid with a credit card. The order came exactly as ordered and rather quickly. We had a very nice dinner. I will definitely order from here again. Fred R.

not bad at all. pretty tasty. but a little overpriced. its tucked away pretty well, so i imagine they arent as busy as theyd like to be. i ordered online and had it delivered. fast delivery for friday night at 8. had the house special roll and some unagi. oh yea baby! plus you get decent sized miso and salad with an entree. would definitely eat again and obviously im recommending it to you, so if youre in the area and you want some japanese food, this is your place.

We found ourselves as famished and rushed music fans, with only a short time to spare before a concert at the Keswick. we were quickly seated, efficiently attended to, and accommodated nicely. Being from out-of-town we were unfamiliar with the byob and didn't find out until seated and we'd ordered (I would have run and grabbed a bottle if we would have known going in). But the sushi was fresh and tasty. The dumplings were crispy. I wish we could have had more time to try a few other samplings from the Chinese selections on the menu, but the dishes we saw going to other tables looked very tasty. The decor is, in a word, cheesily-terrific. The next time we hit the Keswick, we're coming armed with sake and the time to enjoy a larger part of the menu.

Just an update to my last rave about these guys...So, yesterday, I decided to go to Japan but, unfortunately, my bank account said HAHAHAHA. Hence I decided to head out for the food instead. Queen was right in front of me so the choice was made....but do I get my egg foo young? Do I get Japanese cuisine? My mind was BLOWING! What the hell am I going to eat? Well, I decided I came here for Japanese food and, damn it, that's what I am getting. I ran in to place a take out order for miso soup ( which happily, came with my meal) and Seafood Teriyaki ( I even got a salad). MISO soup was delish. I mean really really good. teriyaki was the best! Get it now!

I mainly order takeout for this. Their Steamed Pork Dumplings are the BEST. I dunno how they make the soy sauce, but it tastes really, really good with the dumplings. The dumplings also have a lot of meat in them, so I love them :). I would say their specialty is their dumplings (they're even featured in news articles that are hanging on their walls, talking about their special dumplings). I also order their Chicken Mei Fun (rice noodles), which are pretty good, and generously portioned. Their BBQ fried rice was also a nice addition to a meal (not too oily or salty, unlike a lot of Chinese restaurants). I always order their milk tea (according to the receipt, Black Tea with Milk). It's sweet and very pleasant. As for parking, there are lots of spaces in the back, so long as there's no really popular show playing at the Keswick Theater at the time.

I'm always getting menus from Chinese restaurants and pizzerias, but when you have your standbys, it's not easy for a new place to catch your eye. The menu for Queen came this week, and I wanted to try a few things from their rather large vegetarian selection. They have the usual veggie and bean curd (a.k.a. tofu) entrees, but they also have mock chicken, beef, and duck. We actually ordered carryout the same day I read the menu - I was excited! The food was okay, but I have to admit, it was disappointing. Part of me wants to try another few dishes, but that part is being told to quiet down and not be so charitable. First up - moo shu vegetables. I usually love the cabbage and sweet sauce, and this had the bonus of including broccoli, baby corn, and mushrooms. But the pancakes were dry, stuck together, and inedible. The corn tasted like a can. Not great. Next, vegetarian "beef" with mixed vegetables. The beef tasted like my homemade attempts at seitan, where the stuff still tastes like flour. The sauce was good, but the dish was unremarkable. Finally, we ordered one of the Chef's Specialties - bean curd with general tso's sauce. The silken tofu was deep fried and coated with a sticky, sugary sauce, and there were a few pieces of broccoli alongside. Very disappointing - no spice, no heat, and just sugar and fat for appeal. The two star rating means I've had better. My absolute favorite is Wild Ginger in Huntingdon Valley, and I also prefer China Garden Inn in Willow Grove. I was hoping for a good take out place closer to home, but this isn't it.

The sushi was not impressive, definitely not getting that again. The Lo Mein was really good, as well as the Seafood Combination. We'll probably be ordering again to try different dishes.

Both the Chinese and Japanese food I ordered were delicious. I did not dine in - had (speedy and prompt!) delivery. The delivery process was seamless; ordered everything online and was even able to tip online as well. The portions are huge and mostly inexpensive. Very impressed and will definitely order again!

I go to school nearby, and Queen Sushi is a staple. It seems as though most of the locals order sushi when here. I've gotten sushi on numerous occasions and it is always fresh and delicious. They have all you can eat sushi on Tuesdays for $20; that's something you don't want to miss. Their Miso soup is also very good, as well as their steamed pork dumplings. Portion size is pretty generous. The space is pretty small, and usually if there's a show at the Keswick theater, expect service to be slow and limited seating. The owners know my friends and I since we eat there so often and order out, and are always generous to us.

Glad to see my go-to childhood Chinese joint is still thriving on Keswick ave. They even had banners up stating they were rated a top 100 Chinese food restaurant in the entire US, not too shabby. Our meal was perfect before hitting the Keswick Theater next door. We started with crispy Chinese pizza and the GINORMOUS fried dumplings. Both just as delicious as I remember, man I miss suburb prices. We then split the garlic chicken which could have used a little more spice but was otherwise perfect. The cashew shrimp also was the perfect blend of veggies and the featured attractions. Along with the entrees we received the fluffy white rice to soak up the various sauces that ensured nothing was left behind. There was no alcoholic drink menu and another table had what looked like a fifth of vodka on their table so this place might be BYOB but don't quote me on that!

I've been ordering delivery from this place for the past year, so I finally went in to eat today. The food was great as usual. But the service was horrible. I only saw the waitress when I ordered and when it was time to get the check. I loved the food, but I don't think I'll be going back in to eat.

I've been a long time yelp user and thus far i was never disappointed with their suggestions until last night when I went to Queen Chinese Restaurant. The food was as if they took it out of the freezer and just warmed it up. My fiancee's dish had a disgusting gelatinous film over it which made it inedible. She barely had 2 bites. On top of the bad food, the server didn't come back once during our entire meal. After waiting 20 minutes for our check I got up and politely waited at the counter. The entire waitstaff was off on the other side of the diner talking and chatting away eating their own dinner. I understand the waitstaff needs to eat too, but that doesn't mean you completely forget about your paying customers. I will not be back.

Finally dined in for the sushi buffet on Tuesdays. The first time I went it was ok service. The waiter didn't fill up my water until I pointed it out. However, the second and most recent time I went, I was sorely disappointed. While the sushi buffet is still a good deal, it honestly isn't worth me trekking out again. The manager has since my last visit started enforcing a no sharing rule. I inquired if we could just swap one sushi out with each other since we were both getting the sushi buffet. The waiter resolutely said no. While he and the other waitress were polite enough when bringing our food and taking our orders, I could do without the slow service. We waited close to 30 minutes for our first set of rolls - and they chalked up the slowness due to needing to "fry" the tobiko. There were maybe at most 4 other tables besides us there. I could also overhear the waiter speaking in Chinese that I was "pushing" and "rushing" for the food to be done. I mentioned it once - well past the 25 minute mark. Sorry but frankly, there shouldn't be a 30 minute wait for a single set of rolls. I would've overlooked it but it happened consistently with each set of rolls that there was a long wait. I would postulate that it's a technique they use to discourage you from ordering more sushi. Regardless, I've had better sushi buffets in the DC area for cheaper, better service, and better atmosphere. In a city as large as Philly, I'm sure there are other sushi buffets to eat at. While this was my go to for take out and sushi buffets previously, I can safely say I am unlikely to return or order after my last trip. Other sushi buffets I've gone to don't require me to order off the menu and for me to finish each piece before getting more - and don't stipulate that I can't share among other people who have opted to get the sushi buffet too.

I worked in Glenside a few years ago and ordered some Chinese from them, before I got into sushi, and was always impressed with their food. Recently I've been able to dive more into the sushi scene and have had a hard time finding good local places. Queen is pretty close to home for me and with a big banner boasting "$20 ALL YOU CAN EAT SUSHI TUESDAYS" I had to give it a shot. The first time I went was with my friend Adam and we got a lovely variety, I absolutely enjoyed my Volcano roll and Spider roll as well as some of Adam's Hamachi roll. For $20, their all you can eat sushi is a great deal considering how much some of the special rolls can cost. And for a sushi novice like myself, its a great chance to open up and try some more things you're not quite familiar with. This past Tuesday I met up for dinner with another friend of mine who's much more well versed in sushi and he said it was just alright, but I still think it was delicious. As some other reviewers have mentioned, the service could stand some improvement, though each time I was there I've never had a problem, they've been very attentive when my drink was getting low and if the plates were becoming empty. They're still absolutely worth checking out!

My whole family loves this place. With both Chinese & Japanese fare, there is something for everyone! The sushi is hand rolled & always fresh, dumplings are a must have and my husband loves the spare ribs. Plus, the prices are reasonable. They also deliver & offer coupons in their menu. You won't be disappointed!

I dined here last night before a concert at the Keswick. They were very friendly, the atmosphere wasn't as warm as other sushi places I have been; however, i was not sure from their menu if they were predominantly a sushi bar. The menu right off the bat was overly priced. Presentation impressed me when my Salmon Tempura and Philly Roll arrived. I am a big fan of the Philly roll, but their salmon had a very fishy taste to it, nothing that ginger couldn't kinda cure. On the other hand the Salmon Tempura I was very impressed with as far as its taste. I believe with so many sushi places around that over all i just wasn't ecstatic about this place. I have read others reviews, maybe i needed to try a vegetarian dish instead??? 2 rolls for $18 was just a little over the top for me with it not having an over appeal. So I'd have to say sorry and I'd pass on the sushi here :/

I've been getting take-out for the past year and this place is goooood. Their special diet dishes feature steamed veggies (and meat if you'd like) with sauce on the side and steamed white rice. It's very filling and the veggies taste fresh. The sushi is okay, but as a previous reviewer wrote, it can be considered pricey. Their delivery service is impeccable, I've never had to wait longer than 15 minutes. Prices have been going up though, already jumped twice in the past year or so that I've been eating here.

i love ordering take out from here. i work down easton rd. and they always deliver quickly and its always so hot. the General Tso's Tofu/Been Curd is awesome. They also offer $20 for all you can eat sushi on tuesdays. their sushi is also mighty delicious. great place to eat whether you like the traditional chinese food platters or sushi and my favorite, bubble tea ;)

We've gotten from here a bunch of times while over at friends' place. Can't compare it to other places local to it, but overall, it's a winner. We've gotten a variety of soups, apps, entrees, and combo platters, from both the Chinese and Japanese sections of the menu. Everything has been tasty, though I'd give their wonton soup 3 stars.

How could this be a TOP 100 Chinese Restaurant. It shouldn't even be in the TOP 100,000. The food is barely edible and service is non-existant. I have had better Chinese food and service from a street vendor in New York City.

    (1)
  • Michael G.

They have the standard Chinese plus a sushi bar, veg menu and some great this dishes. Thursdays are 30% any bill over $20. Awesome deal!!!!

  • Bob V.

This was the only place near the Keswick that didn't have a wait before a show. It's no surprise why now. The food was expensive and the service was poor. The food was alright, not nearly as good as the "one of the best Chinese restaurants in America" signage they plaster everywhere would make you think. There has to be better places to eat in the area, take the time to find them.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
