A regular old diner, which is a refreshing alternative for this neighborhood. No froo froo frills, just food, not too expensive, served fairly quickly. The breakfast I had here was good and exactly what I expected from diner breakfast. They advertise 'Falafel Friday', which I tried and found to be bland and dry. At lunch, I think I'll stick to the burgers and club sandwiches.

As someone said - 5 stars isn't just for white table cloths and 55 dollar steaks. This place is a diner. It does it well. My fiancé and I went for breakfast on a Saturday - more at lunch time than breakfast time but they serve breakfast all day. He had the eggs Benedict and I had a spinach and feta omelette. Both were awesome. The spinach was actual fresh raw spinach and it was so, so good. Home fries are typical diner home fries and they hit the spot. Service was great. The owner checked on us too. More than reasonably priced too. Planning to go back on a Friday to try the falafel which I hear is great.

This is a great little stop in the Glenside area. The diner is clean and kept up to date. The food was very good. They offer the standard diner menu with Greek and Middle Eastern bonuses. Go on Fridays to try their falafel and other exotic dishes. Everything is fairly priced. The service was great- friendly and attentive. This is the kind of small, local business you feel good about supporting

Service was great but the food was average. We went for breakfast and had pancakes, omelettes, etc.

This is my first time here. It is easy to drive past because of the intersection where they are located. My stomach is so happy right now. If you love the classic Greek Diner like you find in NYC and Jersey, you know what I am talking about and you will love this place as well. Homemade Greek, Mediterranean and American food. And the biggest slice of their cheesecake I have ever seen. Also made in house. Very friendly people, good service, good (really good) authentic Greek DINER food. A place to go for comfort food. Great for families with kids.

I've become a regular at the Moonlight Diner. The food is great. The service is professional, and always pleasant. The prices are great. I meet a friend for breakfast usually every 2 weeks, no one rushes us out. The spankopita (Friday's) is the best I've ever had. Everyone should check it out.

Cute classic diner. They were able to accommodate our party of 10 with no fuss. The waitress was so nice and and some guy who I'm assuming was the owner was enthusiastically chatting up all the tables including ours (he's hilarious!). The food was good and the desserts hit the sweet spot. This is a great local spot with lots of regulars and friendly staff.

Amazing! I can't believe I never found this place for years. Such friendly service and such delicious food. Amazing for a family brunch on a Sunday morning.

Remarkable service by cool competent waitresses who proceeded to produce correct GOOD Greek food. Met owner good, who said that although his FELAFEL FRIDAY sign is posted & the placed is jammed for this weekly "Middle Eastern Fare" that he cooks on Fridays, he'll accommodate a customer mid-week. I'm sending every one I know to the Moonlight Diner for FRIDAY FELAFEL. The owner, Sam, is too kind and gifted. My Israeli friends agree. Finally, you don't have to buy an El Al ticket to enjoy this great food.

Love, love, love this place. Great breakfast. Great service and go for falafel Friday. We once stopped in on a Wednesday and tried to order falafel and the owner came in from home just to make it oldie my wife

The good good breakfast is truly an elusive commodity around here. While we have no shortage of breakfast joints, diners, and diner wannabees, a true standout has yet to come to the older suburbs north of Philadelphia and south of the turnpike. Still, we keep looking. We'd like to find some place that serves up something a little better and more creative than just the standard eggs, pancakes, and French toast affair found throughout this region. And if only someone around here would features a real homemade corned beef hash. If I miss New England for only one thing, it's that. Yesterday, during the big snowstorm, we decided to give the Moonlight Diner another chance. Mrs. Roadside remembers it as the Kenyon Diner, where she and her high school friends would tumble into after her late night bacchanals. Since then, the diner changed hands and names a few times. I can't say for sure, but I also suspect that despite its current appearance, a real prefab structure once stood at this location. Today, you'd have great difficulty discerning any original features. Only the general footprint of the place indicates the possibility of any real diner heritage. The only other time we visited this diner -- about six years ago -- we left disappointed. The smoke in the air and the blandness on our plates relegated the place to the "avoid" category, which given the diner's proximity to the house, gave us no great pleasure. While we couldn't walk there, we might have passed it by once a week on average. About a year or so ago, we saw the sign change yet again. A couple years ago we noticed still more renovations going on, and about a year after that, another name change. With plans to go out and buy our Christmas tree yesterday, I suggested another visit, and Mrs. Roadside agreed. Indeed, for diner purists, the general look of the place inside and out won't do much to make the heart go aflutter. The Moonlight Diner has a slightly Mediterranean look and feel, but it does have a counter and a general welcoming atmosphere. We did enjoy our breakfasts, though. I had banana pancakes and pork roll, Mrs. Roadside had the French toast, and the child had a chocolate chip pancakes. We brought our own real maple syrup, which is de rigeur for any true road warrior who wants to fully enjoy their breakfast. Nothing spoils a pancake faster than the corn-based syrup glop that most places serve, which indeed came with the meal. Thumbs up for the coffee as well, and the service, which I believe came by way of the owners themselves, rounded out the whole experience and took the Moonlight off our "avoid" list, hopefully for good. One quibble: Mrs. Roadside lamented the packets of Coffee Mate the diner provides for the coffee instead of real half-and-half. Originally published at roadsideonline.com

I'm from Jersey, so I have been to my fair share of diners. my girlfriend and I stopped in on Sunday morning for breakfast. Welcoming atmosphere, mainly couples, seniors and families with children. Owner / host was very friendly and seated us right away. Service was quick, efficient and very friendly. Both of us ordered simple breakfasts and everything was prepared to order and when we left the plates were totally empty - what more can I say? Aside from the waitress, they have a gentleman who will refill coffee throughout the diner intermittently, which is a nice touch. Last but not least, their prices are very reasonable. Other area diners would have charged $2-3 more per entree for pretty much the same thing. Overall, this is a very nice little place on a Sunday morning. There is no doubt that we will return again when we can. Thanks for a nice experience.

Great local diner. Went for breakfast, typical breakfast diner food. The service was great and the staff was friendly. The place was also very clean. Will go back to try for lunch :-)

Your average dinner, nothing too awesome about it but it's nice for a Sunday morning breakfast when you don't feel like cooking.

The food was really good from an authentic Greek family. We went for a late dinner and got gyros. Not bad at all for the North Hills area. Service was quick and very friendly.

Great diner in an area where there aren't many really close breakfast options. I've been here a couple of times and everything was great. Great service and food was great. It's also not over-priced.

Best diner experience of my 25 years. Quick service, super clean, reasonable prices, and most important: amazing food!!! Chicken was juicy, bread was soft, and the lettuce was so fresh I ate it off the plate when it fell from my sandwich. Also, one of the best chocolate cakes I've had in a while. Will definitely be back, and can't wait to try other items off their menu.

Too expensive. Two eggs, home fries and a side of bacon should not cost $12 and I told them no toast.
