Pretty good food and a cool location, however the owner can be rude. They ask for a tip at the register no matter what when you're paying, even though they, at most, will shout your name to bring your food out if you decide to sit down. Other than that I like going there to get coffee, and the location is great for students living off campus or on that part of campus. Ragged edge is better.

Nice, cozy place to relax and hangout. Plenty of comfy seating as well as some tables. The staff is friendly and knowledgable. I got a trifecta made with Ethiopian coffee...it's excellent, strong with some great blueberry notes. I wish I lived here so I could try everything they have to offer. I will come back, though, the next time I'm in town.

Lovely place. Loved their Chai, and their wraps are wonderful. Great folks! I love to meet folks here for a quick business meeting. Tables and couches, and wifi. There is street parking and a few spaces at the end of property.

Yelp searched this while headed south to N. VA from the Poconos. What a find! Great coffees and knowledgable staff. I had the avocado veg wrap and highly recommend it. A nice relaxing stop with big cushy chairs.

Stopped in for a Café Mocha. My drink was expertly made and the staff was very friendly. The cafe itself was beautiful, comfortable, well decorated, and clean. I also loved the local art.

I grabbed an Iced Cafe Bombon to go. It's espresso and condensed milk. I went back in to ask for extra milk but it was good! The espresso on its own wasn't bad, and this seems like an ok place to grab a seat and work (free WiFi though I didn't try it) (Update: After a second time, I love this place. Had a great BLT wrap and asked for it with Garlic Mayo which was fantastic... plus had an Iced Venezolano which was so tasty! Great place to relax and work in)

Stopped in for lunch and I was the only person in the building over 25 years old so it's obviously very popular with the local college students. The service was friendly and quick (place your order and have a seat, they'll bring it to you). There is a breakfast and lunch menu and apparently they overlap. I had Arepas with chicken which was a little bland but that's because I withheld the Garlic Mayo. Good for a quick eat and free Wifi.

Really great sandwiches at a reasonable price. I like the the Venezuelan influence as well. Great destination for breakfast or lunch at a very convenient location for most students. I'll be going there frequently this year.

Best coffee in Gettysburg (roasted on site). Great relaxed atmosphere and the perfect place to study or chat with friends. Oh yeah, they also have arepas! Why are you still reading this? Get in there!

Coffee: a warm, delicious alternative to hating everybody every morning forever. AWHOA! This place is a hidden little gem off the beaten path in downtown Gettysburg. The Ugly Mug is a must visit for a cup of joe to brighten up your morning. The Ugly Mug reminded me a lot of a classic college hang out. You'd come here to study, for a date, hang out with friends and of course just for some coffee. The atmosphere here is unexplained, so is the vibe. While it feels young and relaxed they are bumping music that should be played while at a bar on a Friday night (re: Hoodie Allen, T-Pain, Macklemore, etc.). At the end of the coffee shop, you will find two book cases, one is hidden in the wall and the other is propped up against the wall. The one in the wall has books from every walk of life and the other has board games upon board games. The service was great and quick, too. After breakfast sandwiches were ordered the barista brought them out and delivered them as well. Grab the Jersey Sandwich, it will knock your morning out of the park. If you love peanut butter and bananas, you are in luck. They offer an Elvis style coffee, hence it has flavors of peanut butter and bananas. I stuck with my usual coffee order and didn't get too adventurous, but maybe it's for you. A huge perk of part of the Ugly Mug is if you check-in on the Yelp app you get 20% off your beverage. Tip- pick up the copy of The Limerick, but be warned this materiel should not be read aloud.

Best Chai Tea Lattes! Great atmosphere. It definitely helps that the staff is so unbelievably friendly all of the time! Perfect location to get away from campus and get work done.

If you are just passing through Gettysburg and want some decent food then this place might suit your needs, however one of the owners is very rude. The food and coffee are not bad (although Ragged Edge is much better) and the store is nicely decorated. There are also a lot of options including Venezuelan and Middle Eastern inspired dishes. I have been a regular customer here for the past year because I live very close by and I have been shocked by the treatment I have received here. I get takeout at least three times a week. One day they got a new register system where when you swipe your credit card, it asks you whether you want to leave a tip. The three options are 15%, 20%, or no tip. I found this a bit odd because I usually only leave tips this big when I am at a full-service restaurant with a waiter, not just picking up a breakfast sandwich and coffee at a cafe. I brought this up to the man behind the counter, who is one of the owners, in a polite, conversational way, just to let him know that they might get more tips if they had a .25 cent or maybe a 5% and 10% option. I wasn't telling him how to run his store, just giving a bit of advice from the perspective of a customer. He responded rudely by going on a rant about how hard it is to keep a cafe profitable and how tipping 15-20% is the least I could do because, given that I can afford to attend Gettysburg College, "my dad must make 10 times more than him" (those were his actual words). I told him that many people at the college are on financial aid and that he cannot make such an assumption but he remained defensive. It has been 8 months since that conversation and I've still been a regular customer, mostly out of convenience because of the location. I have even been making it a point to give them a tip of a quarter or so after our conversation. However, every time I have been in there I have felt the negativity from the male co-owner of the store. This morning I greeted him friendly and he only grunted back at me with a bland facial expression, which is the regular treatment I have been getting. When I swiped my card I noticed that my name was saved in their system as "no tip guy". This is the last straw for me and I will no longer be going to The Ugly Mug. A few my friends who are also college students have said the same thing as me noting that the same man has been rude toward customers. I have also observed him being rude to his own employees in front of customers on multiple occasions. On top of their expectation for a high tip and refusal to treat customers with respect, the prices here are higher than at surrounding cafes, with a breakfast sandwich costing $5.25.

I had a webinar today that required internet access. Not being from town, I looked for a coffee and tea bar with wi-fi. This one pooped up. I was able to find a Cindy upholstered chair in a relatively quiet past of the establishment. I ordered a chai tea latte, plugged in my computer, and joined my meeting. This worked or great!
