I enjoyed the best brunch I have EVER eaten, anywhere, at Curious Goods. I was lucky to have my men (2 cute boys and one cute man) take me here for Mother's Day. I still can't get that meal out of my head...over a month later! My 9 year old (adult palate) son has been begging to go back ever since. Likely because he is obsessed with bacon, and they had no lack of bacon on their menu that day. Curious Goods is quite an unexpected and unassuming place. One would likely not expect such a high caliber of food from this quiet inn in the middle of nowhere. HOLY COW, GIVE IT A CHANCE! Their menu had "Spring Sippers" for creative brunch type alcholic beverages. Polish Mary, Spring Sangria, Horseradish Bloody Mary, Brew-driver, amongst others. The 4 different ones my husband and I sampled were interesting and yummy! They had a few appetizers, including Hand Cut Fries with HOT BACON DRESSING! (guess what my son had). You could have also gotten them with Truffle Parmesan....next time for me, thank you very much. They had selections from the "Hen House"...fresh, fresh, fresh, plus sandwiches, salads, eggs, and of course...while in the middle of nowhere PA....Cream Chipped Beef! I personally enjoyed pierogies with bacon, brown butter and spinach (did I mention, they like to use bacon) and a cold savory crab cheesecake for my entree. They were both out of this world. The flavors were such that I've never experienced. Kids enjoyed their excellent french toast, and once again...I've forgotten what my husband ate (I guess I was just too busy revelling in the deliciousness of my meal). The waitstaff was friendly and attentive, and let us take our time and eat at our own pace. I wish I could have lingered long enough to have dinner there, too. This is a 45 minute drive for us to get to, but I would seriously drive 2 hours just to enjoy this brunch again. I can't recommend this place enough. AMAZING!

I am a vegan and wanted to come experience this highly referred farm to table restaurant....I checked out the menu online and didn't see any dishes that were overtly vegetarian/vegan friendly. I placed a call to Curious Goods and left a voice message with my question of whether they could accommodate my vegan diet. Someone called me back in a few hours and happily told me that they could! Well, last night, the chef knocked my socks off last night with the amazing dish. A delicious and beautifully presentation of vegetables ( squash, spinach, carrots, cauliflower, green beans, asparagus, and more), pear and quinoa. Seasoned perfectly...and had a little kick to it, just like I requested. I am impressed! The service was great from start to finish. Will definitely come back with the amazing customer service and food we had! Thank you....

Good food, most of it locally grown, along with an impressive selection of beer and wine make this a favorite. Becoming a bigger fan with every visit. Love Sunday Brunch.

There's an artist in the kitchen. The bar area is frequented by a changing cast of intetesting locals. The wines are varied and superb. The food is amazing. Every bite is an experience. The country inn has a long history and it's charm and spirits are preserved. We would go once a week if we could. YOU WILL BE THRILLED AND GLAD YOU CHOSE TO DINE IN GERMANSVILLE.... only 15-20 minutes north of Allentown. Ask about Tuesdays. ...

This place is a true hidden gem! Food is farm to table and amazing! I found out through friends it was open so they should advertise. Mark is an incredible chef and the staff are super friendly! Best fresh fish, soft shell crabs, and gourmet meatloaf! It's a destination restaurant but WORTH it! GO!!!!!!

Nestled along Bake Oven Road in the northwestern tier of Lehigh County, Curious Goods is an exquisite example of farm to table dining. You will not find the air of pretension that often accompanies the farm to table restaurants that exist in more metropolitan areas. What you will find is an always friendly waitstaff, relaxing farmhouse atmosphere, and creative use of locally sourced ingredients. Having grown up in the area, I also applaud the many nods the chef makes to local cuisine(see apple butter). I've dined at Curious Goods for both brunch and dinner, and I've yet to walk away with anything other than a huge smile and satiated appetite. Furthermore, the rotating draft and bottled beer selection is always diverse and well thought out. While you shouldn't expect 100+ options, you will have a fair selection of some of the finest domestic and international craft brews. Pricing is reasonable. They do have a wine list and liquor.

I came here for a friend's birthday dinner. This restaurant is in the middle of no where and had a nice homey feel. I had the short ribs and my husband had the NY Strip steak. The short rib wasn't really favorably. The sides made it taste more like a stew, which wasn't what I was expecting. My husband wasn't too impressed with the steak. He said it was not evenly cooked and very bland. The service wasn't so good too. I had an empty water cup for a long time and had to ask for a refill. Also they weren't good about refilling bread. Overall just eh, which was a bit sad since I really wanted to like this place. The funnest thing was the bathrooms since the party had fun seeing how tiny it was.

Came here for New Years Eve dinner. This was my second visit and I was excited to come back. I had the lamb special. The lamb was cooked wonderfully and everything was perfect. I like the fact that the bread is in cute flower pots and that you get a tasting of something unique. Would definitely recommend. It's a little out of the way, but worth it.

Possibly the best brunch spot in the Lehigh Valley! Do yourself a favor, and don't decide on your order until you've heard the specials. The chef and kitchen staff are creative and talented, and the dining staff are incredibly friendly. Curious Goods is another one of those restaurants that makes you want to order one of everything. The pub and appetizer menus are always filled with things that will make your mouth water just thinking about. Order the farmhouse mac & cheese and thank me later.

I have only been twice for brunch, but both visits I thoroughly enjoyed the food. Farm to table concept which works well with the region it's located in. Not only is the food excellent, the drinks (especially the spicy bloody) are as well. I feel the service could be improved a little; although it might just be a local personality (PA Deutsche) issue that I have.

Loved this place. Ordered swordfish which was cooked to perfection as was the orzo pasta that came with it. Loved the homemade bread. The only thing I was not crazy about was the homemade pumpkin ice cream. It had a weird sort of "dry" texture and left a film in my mouth. Other than that, everything was wonderful.

What an absolutely extraordinary dining experience. Everytime I go I have something exquisite and I always leave satisfied. Brunch, dinner, bar menu, even thanksgiving dinner. I've had a variety of things the menu offers and it is always above and beyond. Some of the best food I've ever had in my life. Even down to the coffee it is exceptional. Local farm fresh food and two caring chefs who always come up with exciting new choices for the menu. Lamb burger, truffle parmesan french fries, maple bacon ice cream...everything is out of this world. The Lehigh Valley's best kept secret.

As an appetizer we had the farm plate, and the fontina cheese dip. Both were excellent! As my main dish I had the free range chicken, with lemon risotto, greens, and squash, and it was perfect! My husband had pork chops, mashed sweet potatoes, brussels sprouts and baked tomato, and he loved it! For dessert he had the cheese cake, and I had the coffee crème de Pot And they were both perfection :-). And, The service was great!

Yummy and local! While wine tasting in Lehigh Valley we got a recommendation to have dinner here - and I am SO glad that we took the advice! Everything was wonderful. It was the type of dinner that when I finished my plate, although full, I kept scraping the plate to get just one last taste!

I took my wife and two teenagers to Curious Goods today based on the two previous yelp reviews. It was the best Sunday brunch we've ever had in the Lehigh Valley area! The staff and the atmosphere were very pleasant. The food was delicious!

They serve Sunday brunch until 4 (well, they'll seat you until 3:30.) We went yesterday and the food was exceptionally fresh and delicious. The Horseradish Bloody Mary was the best I have had in ages. The menu was inventive and the chef prepares special butters and condiments each weekend to go with the breads/dishes. Raspberry butter=so good. The waitress said the week before was Nutella butter=Amazing.

I eat at Curious Goods almost every time I come to PA to visit my parents. Its consistently delicious with a great staff. I LOVE this place. Since my previous review was only regarding the brunch menu, I figured I'd provide a dinner menu update. .. Well, simply put, its 5 stars all around. The menu is creative and is continually updated so you'll never get bored of the fare at Curious Goods. ... i know, i sound like I work there or I'm a paid endorser, but in all honesty I just adore the place. Its the best restaurant around the area - a true gem.

Up in the middle of nowhere. Would be nice in the nicer weather. Food was pretty good. I want to go back and try it again.

It disheartens me to give this restaurant only 3 stars. My wife and I came here with high expectations. Multiple recommendations from friends placed it on our "must go there" list. And after driving here on a foggy, rainy night (which made it seem as if we were driving to the end of the world) I had hoped it would blow me away. But it did not. The recap: While waiting for our table, we sat at the bar. The selection of beers is beyond impressive for a small place off the beaten path. And I very much appreciated the bartender offering me a sample of the Northern Tier Creme Brulee Imperial Milk Stout (which I would recommend drinking FOR dessert). We had already reviewed the menu at home, so came in with an idea of what we wanted. Once seated, the waitress brought us a loaf of rosemary bread, which is baked in a clay pot. I would give the bread 6 stars if I would. It was warm and fresh. Dense and chewy. In a word, delicious. We ordered the Cast Iron Cheese Bake for an appetizer. The flavors worked very well to combine salty, sweet, and savory. I wish it came with a couple more pieces of focaccia, though. We ended up finishing the skillet by scooping it out and eating it off our forks. I ordered the Pan Roasted Pork Chop. It was a thick cut, which I know will affect cooking. However, I felt it was a little over done. I also felt the consistency of the potatoes were odd. The outsides seemed underdone, while the inside was perfectly cooked. My wife had the Roasted Free Range Chicken. Her feeling was that her risotto was overdone. I guess the main issue was that both of those dishes should have been homeruns. They were basic items for a Farm to Table style restaurant. But the execution was off. For dessert we had the Warm Apple Caramel Tart. I enjoyed it, but my wife was thrown off by how smokey the bacon was in the ice cream. And ultimately, the lingering flavor in my mouth after dessert was smokey bacon. Which is not what you expect after eating dessert. We plan on returning to Curious Goods. At least for brunch, if not for dinner again. I can accept if they were having an off night or something like that. All good restaurants do. And I hope that by returning, I can change my rating to something higher. But like I said, we came in with high expectations. And they were, unfortunately, not realized.
