Superbly done Peruvian food with a special emphasis on meats and seafood. It's a very, very casual atmosphere, and for now, a magnet mostly for local Peruvians (and there are actually many in the Easton area). My carnivorous 7-year-old ate an entire fried bistek (steak), cut thin and tender, and served with a fried egg, papas fritas, and plantains. I didn't have the civiche, but I shall next time. The fried yuca with Peruvian cheese sauce was good, but the potatoes tasted even better to me. Peru is, of course, the place where scientists believe the potato originated, so it's no surprise to find them featuring heavily on the menu. If the only thing served at Chimpum were the home-made Peruvian sweet tortas (there's a chocolate as well as a fruit-topped version), I would say go, go, go -- yep, stunningly old-fashion baking the way your great-grandma (if you had one from South America) did it. This isn't a North Americanized venue toned down for local tastes and sensibilities. The decor seems a little unfinished, the furnishings a bit low-budget. It was a little cold inside when we went. But the warmth of the staff more than made up for the chill. The chef, a pleasant woman with rosy cheeks, came out and kissed my little boy and hugged my wife. We left very happy campers, with a huge doggie carton and pleasant memories. We'll be back.

Decor & Ambiance: Quite Homey Cleanliness: Clean Service: Friendly and Willing to answer questions but horribly understaffed. When we walked in on a Sunday Afternoon and the place was empty with no one who worked there in sight. Pretty bad when you have call out "Is anyone here ?". One young girl handles all the service, but instead of a hand bell inside they should have bells on the door so when someone comes in they know they can be waited on. Took a bit too much time to get the bill to pay as well. They sorely need some help in this regard. The Food on the other hand: was amazing and delicious. I tried the mixed ceviche with an abundance of clams, muscles, shrimp, tilapia, squid, octopus, & Scallops..all cooked nicely in the lime juice with a side of spicy onions, white beans, plantain & Sweet Potato. My wife tried the flavorful Vegetarian Rice and Beans. We both had water. All in all if I am in Easton again and hungry for Peruvian food I know where to go.

Food was very good. Nothing fancy. Flavors good. Very filling. Kids menu is great. I dont know Peruvian cuisine so I cant speak to its authenticity. Nice service but slow. No 12 year old girl in sight however and there were bells on the door as a previous reviewer suggested. Rotisserie chicken perfectly cooked. Beef salty for my taste but good.

Great food. Super friendly staff in a family run place. I had the fried seafood salad (can't remember what it is called). It was awesome! The stir fry was also great. Definitely check it out!

I have pass this place for years and finally decided to try it. I have to say that this is a very good place for peruvian food. We had the lomo saltado with rice. And also the BBQ chicken and rice and beans. Very good taste and we will definitely go back. Nice place to have in easton....

Don't judge a family owned and operated book by it's cover! The tables and decorations may seem like a bare minimum but the food speaks for itself! The husband and I came on Sunday around 2 pm and it was still packed. The service wasn't too bad for Easton-- we've been at restaurants that take 2 hrs to serve. I ordered the seafood fried rice, while the husband got 1/2 a chicken. The chicken is seasoned PERFECTLY.. and unlike other peruvian places we went to, it had an additional wet rub on top of it. We had to ask for the peruvian sauce b/c our waitress forgot to give it to us, but the sauce is tangy and spicy complimenting the quality chicken perfectly. The house salad was refreshing and came with ample dressing. My seafood fried rice was filled to the brim with clams, mussels, squid, shrimp and scallops. They did not jip on anything! We also ordered a sour sop shake--- which tastes exactly like how I make it at home. This place is seriously a gem, perfectly located with delicious and affordable food. After it was all done, our bill was a measly $28. This will be our go to spot every time we go back to Lafayette.

Got my order wrong 3 times. A 12 year old girl is waiting all the tables by herself. When they finally got my food the order was still wrong and the rice was hard and cold.

The carna assade has very tender meat which suggests a long and slow marinating and stewing process. The rice is fairly standard but the onions and peppers aside are salty with a ting of sourness that makes the whole dish work together so very well. The service was very slow but totally worth the wait so don't let that aspect dissuade you. As a newly opened business, their interior is sparse but the local competition for Peruvian restaurants makes me want to support Chimpun in its bringing Peru to Easton. Their business card notes they specialize in ceviche and rotisserie chicken though I've yet to try either.

Upon entering the restaurant, I was extremely skeptical. A very casual atmosphere indeed. However, the food did not disappoint. We ordered the classic staple of roasted chicken and went out on a limb with the ceviche mixto. The chicken had that signature Peruvian flavor along with the tasty green hot sauce. Just get the whole chicken even if you can't finish it. I swear to you you'll thank me when you eat it the next day. The Ceviche was equally satisfying. Large portion with chunks of fish and all sorts of tasty seafood. Despite the lack of clientele on a Saturday evening, the seafood tasted fresh. We were bracing for disappointment after ordering it, but I would do so again without hesitation. Flavorful, acidic, great texture, it's all good. 2 thumbs up and we'll be back when next we visit the Crayola factory.

Food was delicious. Service was nice.. If you want something different you can get it here. No ice for their water but the Inca Kola makes up for it. I got a Lomo Saltado that was delicious.. Look at the image with the meat rice and fries.. Awesome sauce, literally. The other platter was seafood platter -- Ceviche. It seemed like a large portion for my liking.. Too much acid on what one plate, however the food was fresh and satisfying. I would definitely recommend and go there again.

A Friday night the place was dead. The tables were dirty. I cleaned my own. The rotisserie chicken was okay, the seasoning was okay, but the meat didn't fall off the bone. The plantains were good. I asked for water and was given a cold bottle, no glass. I think I'll go back to Bethlehem, there is a better place there.
