If you are travelling along I-80 and can't stand fast food, drive a mile off the highway into (pretty) downtown Clarion. This is the only place for miles that has quality ingredients like we do in the big city. It is not cheap, but there is nothing of this caliber around. The large salad portion is generous. The sandwiches could be bigger. Any sandwich can be a salad. Yummy. Go.

In such a small town like Clarion, it is sometimes difficult to get the less mainstream ingredients I want. Mostly I was stuck with Walmart, Aldi, or Comet Food for groceries unless I felt like heading farther afield for things an amateur foodie would like to add into her recipes. Since 6th & Main opened, however, that's changed. The space is great, very open and bright, so finding what you're looking for is pretty easy, especially since the shelves are rather limited in number, but not in variety. Asian spices and sauces, Italian herbs, fettuccine in unusual flavors, etc. And now they've got an olive oil and balsamic vinegar program, with refillable bottles and fantastic flavors. I picked up a strawberry balsamic and a pear balsamic, and still want the peach, blueberry, and chocolate flavors. And the olive oils! EVOO, garlic, and red pepper! Not to mention the deli/sandwich counter, which has some truly delicious offerings, most of which are named after various buildings on the campus two blocks away. I love the Carlson and the Gemmell! I'm not certain if the bakery aspect is still open, but they previously had some very interesting offerings. Something to check later...

We stopped for lunch while driving from Michigan to Connecticut. As is our practice we use Yelp to avoid chains and find places five to ten minutes off the interstate. This one was a gem with delicious fresh food and terrific sides. This is a deli specialty food store with six tables. The place is very clean and the staff friendly and helpful. in addition to a good sandwiches they had tasty sides of salads, soup and cous cous. This is not fast food so you need to allow yourself the time to enjoy it.

Good local market, I wish they still baked bread fresh daily there but I guess they didn't sell much. With Sage Meadow closing, this is the only place in the area to get specialty ingredients. Biggest issue is the prices, they're fairly high so I don't shop here very much.

Nice little place to stop while traveling, although when we were there, there was little to buy in the store section, as they were remodeling. Couldn't find the salsa we'd stopped for. They did have a vegetarian sandwich option that looked good, and people were enjoying their deli delights! But wanted to let people know that if they're there for the market itself, there's not much to it yet. Maybe call ahead?

Was pleasantly surprised by this place. On one side there is a small market with specialty foods and organic items. The other half is a deli that serves amazing sandwiches. Front of the market is filled with tables to sit and eat your delicious food. Service was excellent and the suggestions made by the staff were awesome. Would highly recommend.

I really wanted to like this place. One, it's not a chain. Two, it's on idyllic looking Main Street in downtown Clarion. Three, did I say it's not a chain? Prices were fair, but I cannot get over the tiny size of my mozzarella Caprese sandwich. Maybe it was a fluke, because my dining companions looked to have slightly larger sandwiches. But theirs were just a tad larger. I could have eaten two of my sandwiches. Maybe three. My sandwich had two skinny slices of mozzarella and two skinny slices of tomatoes. Blah. The staff running the place seemed really nice. They informed us that they're transforming the business from a counter/sit down place to a more traditional type of restaurant. If ever in Calrion again, I'd give them another try. I suppose I won't get the Calabrese sandwich again.

Worth the couple mile detour off Rt 80 to grab a quick healthy lunch. The vegan wraps we had were quite tasty and the town of Clarion was a cool little distraction from the road. Will keep it on the list every time we travel across 80.

I was so surprised at this place. It's a little deli with a seating area, as well as a natural foods grocery store. It's not very big, but you can find a lot of things there that you can't anywhere else in the area, and they also have a huge selection of cheese. What I was most impressed by was their deli sandwiches. They are delicious. I also got a side of their slaw. All of it was just delicious, and I plan on going several more times so I can try everything.
