Have you ever had a meal that was so bad it was almost comical? That was our experience with Perfect Taste. We were looking for somewhere to go for dinner one night when our toddler was with her grandparents. Everywhere else was packed but Perfect Taste was empty at 5:30pm on a Saturday. They are BYOB so my husband went down two doors to the liquor store to get a bottle of wine. Service was fine. The food, however, was downright awful. By the time we left around 6:30/7pm the place was packed and we both wanted to stand in the doorway and yell, "If you like good food get out now!" The smell from the wood-burning grill hits you as soon as you walk in the door, so of course we both ordered dishes that are supposedly cooked on the grill. My tuna was chewy and didn't even have grill marks. How is that possible for something cooked on a hot grill? We should have known things weren't going to be good when we saw that all the entrees (except the seafood) are served with the same starch and veggie, in this case asparagus. In December. Yeah. We hoped the asparagus might be cooked on the grill but as soon as our plates were delivered we knew they'd just been steamed. They weren't even trimmed of their woody ends. My rice was obviously Minute Rice, and was sadly the best thing on the plate. My husband got steak au poive which couldn't have been grilled because there was no wood-smoked flavor or grill marks. Bland sauce with no descernible peppercorns or brandy, rubbery potatoes and the same ill-prepared asparagus. At least the wine was good.

A great local place for a nice, friendly well cooked meal. The ribs were great, the salads lovely. Very accommodating and easy.

We tried this place last night for the first time. The atmosphere was lovely. But it took a long time to get served. We finally had to get up and get our own bread plates. The oil for the bread dip had no flavor. The bread was nice and fresh. The food was delicious ( I had the Pecan Veal), but the portions were very small. We left still feeling a bit hungry! We probably won't go back.

Inconsistent at best. We stayed away for a while and then returned twice recently. The first meal was pretty good and brought us back again to a not so great experience. I got the same meal as I did last month and there was no comparison. It felt like I was eating reheated leftovers (I did tell the waitress I wasn't happy with my meal) and the baklava which is normally wet with honey was extremely dry and nothing like the one I had last month. Our waitress Linda was very nice although a bit overwhelmed because the place was about half full and she was the only waitress. My husband commented that his steak was the thinnest he'd ever seen. It was supposed to be a 14 oz. ribeye. I highly doubt it. It also was overdone and looked very unappetizing. Nice atmosphere but when I motioned to one of the cooks, who was basically standing around doing nothing at the open kitchen station, to ask for some champagne glasses because the waitress was busy he waved me on to her like he couldn't be bothered. Are you kidding me, do you really work there? Won't be going back there anytime soon.

Do you like raw onions and grapes on ice? If so, then you'll love Perfect Taste! I feel guilty writing such a negative review because I love local joints and also walk into them hoping to have a 5 star experience to write about but unfortunately I can't say that about this place. Firstly, I was surprised to walk in to see that they were trying to be a bit more upscale with white table clothes...not something I expected from more of a brick oven strip mall type of place. After being seated, we were presented with 2 menus...one regular menu and one that was basically the specials. The specials menu had typos and spelling errors on it (Entries of the Day, anyone?!?!) which is just totally unacceptable considering all of the help we have with that now-a-days (spell check is my best friend). Either way, we ordered 2 appetizers - french onion soup (bread was soggy), mussels in white wine sauce (mussels were overcooked and the sauce had semi-raw onions in it), and a cheesesteak (overwhelmed with raw onions). We had had enough and were ready to leave...then we had to laugh when our waitress (which by the way was very friendly), came over with our bill and a bowl with grapes on top of partially melted ice cubes. So bizarre!! I have never seen like it! Overall, I think Perfect Taste has a bit of an identity crisis going on, needs a new cook and should stop trying to do different/quirky things and instead focus on serving delicious food to the hungry citizens of Buckingham!!
