The goal in coming here is to eat a lot of food and not care about how it makes you feel. I came here with my friend Manny who knows his way around a buffet. He insisted that it was the best in the area, however, my reaction, through and through, was "I am never coming back here" Here's why: You go in and there is a mob of people waiting for tables. There are so many people that I found it sickening to a degree. I felt like I was waiting in the bread line during the depression. The snide looks we got! As if we were depriving these people of food? The customers were ravenous and the shifting of the crowd made you feel like you were at a World Cup soccer match. People breathing down your neck, the stale air, the foggy windows- it was unappetizing and a bit intimidating. The people who sat next to us smelled like they hadn't bathed in weeks. It was noticeably bad. We looked around the room and, honestly, half of the people weren't dressed appropriately for a meal at Long John Silvers. It was depressing and distracting. If you think the sushi is anywhere near "the best in the area", there is something wrong with you. I mean, there is no question that it is below-average sushi. The rice was bad and the rolls were tiny. The fish was okay, but nowhere near fresh. Some of the rolls are just doused in sauces to hide how flavorless they are. I was impressed with the selection in the buffet itself. I sampled many different foods and the quality was, for the most part, fine. If you stripped the environment away and just paid X amount of dollars for certain foods, this place would be a fine buffet, but it gets worse. The crab legs are the hottest item at the buffet. I made three trips up and was disappointed that the crab legs hadn't been restocked. On my third trip, I decided to wait for them. While I was waiting, several other people lined up for the two pairs of tongs. I tried joking with them, but these people were dead serious about getting the crab legs. When the crab legs were restocked, it was a free for all. I let the woman who lined up basically at the same time as me use the tongs first. Well, I didn't really let her, she just went for it. She fished in at least six times- it was excessive and inconsiderate. But it got worse. I got the tongs next and started trying to grab the tiny little legs and claws to the best of my ability. While I was doing this, a guy started just reaching in and grabbing the claws. It was disgusting. During all of this- everyone was completely silent. Just fixated on satisfying their crab addiction. I went back to my table, laughing, because, at the end of the day, it's just food. On my way, several people looked and saw the legs on my plate and immediately got up from their tables to presumably get the crab legs. You have to see it to believe it. I don't think I will ever return unless I'm looking to do a report on a crab-obsessed microcosm of American society.

Always good food, lots of it. I enjoy the Hibachi the most, you can pick your ingredients and they cook it for you. Fresh, hasn't been sitting in a warming tray all day.

There are a number of Asian buffets in the area but this one is undoubtedly the best of the lot. Sample a little all of the dishes and find your favorite. Food is always fresh, they do a good job of keeping the place clean considering how sloppy the customers at these places can be. In the back of the restaurant you can get freshly made Hibachi items are prepared to order at no additional charge. One thing that bothers me is how glutenous some people can be at these buffets. I watched Some fat slob in a NY Giants jersey empty the entire tray of raw oysters on to his plate. He had to have at least 40 oysters . What a selfish pig! He went back two more times and did the same thing!!! It is not fair to the owners or the other diners to go to a $9 Buffet and eat $40 worth of Oysters . Pigs like this drive up the costs to everyone and if enough people do this the buffet will have to stop serving oysters all-together.

Yuck. Sorry, I wanted to like this place, but i was there last night and I was disgusted. Yes, it was a little later than the dinner rush, but at least put some fresh choices out. Dry, hardened food. Go get a nice chinese take out meal for around the same price and enjoy yourself.

  • Luiselys P.

What can you expect from a buffet? The food is ok, nothing to die for. Some of the plates on the buffet line are very dry. I mean it's been sitting out so can't really say anything. I always have the thin white stringy noodles (yummy). They have this shrimp, crab and mussel butter delight that's good. Their chicken wings aren't that good, nor their roast beef or steak. They did have frog legs -___- Their hibachi really hits the spot. Although i find something completely unsanitary about choosing raw ingredients myself. This place is really ok. Go if you are really hungry and not picky.

Best Chinese buffet around. Everything I tried was fresh & tasted great. The wait staff kept my drink topped off and would take away the plates from my table pretty much right as we were done with them. Couldn't ask for more!

Great buffet with plenty of choices! Nothing spectacular...it's your everyday chinese buffet, but then again, can you really go wrong with chinese buffet?

Couldn't even count the amount of times I've been here. Best buffet in the area. They have a large selection of food, tons of options. They also have a hibachi grill and sushi. This is my go too anytime I have a craving for a quick and easy buffet ! Love this place.

  • Lee M.

Owen is back for a few weeks and service is really top notch. Food is coming up hot n fresh as usual and staff is doing a great job as always clearing and cleaning. The sushi has taken a new step up. Worth the wait and drive.

  • Rick K.

Huge assortment of food. Very tasty for a buffet the only draw back to here is the feeling you get that everyone is watching what you put on your plate. They have signs at each table warning you not to waste food or they will charge you extra. Would go back there.

  • Haley G.

Have you ever been to a Chinese buffet before? Then nothing will shock you here. They have crab legs, which is GREAT. Realize you are not in Las Vegas and going to buffets out there, and you will be fine.

  • J. L.

I've been here many times and the food seems to be good. There is plenty of choices from hibachi (of course) to desserts, such as fruit, cake, ice cream. The best thing about this place is that is very cheap for what you get here.

    (4)
  • Shea M.

FOOD POISONING! This place had me sent to the er because I had gotten so sick off their food. They also charged us an extra fee for no reason whatsoever. We did not waste food or anything so I don't know why but I didn't argue. The people that work there are rude and stare you down as you leave to see if you are going to leave a tip. We also called to see if we could get out 35 bucks back for 2 people mind you. And she said she couldn't give us that money back, and we tried to reason with her because that was unacceptable to be sent to the er and not get my money back for the hospital trip or our food and she ended up calling the police on us because we were supposedly harassing her. So I'd say steer clear of this place and their rude service.

I give it three stars simply because the food quality at buffets blow. This is a great local stop for bulk eating. I have family in the area and stopped by for a first time visit. You cant beat the fried section, noodles, and rice section. So most of my plates square footage consisted of lo mien, Singapore rice noodles, fried rice, fried shrimp, egg rolls, sweet and sour chicken, and these lovely fried cheese sticks(I ate about 4). There was a wide range of foods to choose from including seafood, American, sushi, and hibachi. Chinese was the specialty. Love the fried dumplings as well. Service was good. Fast to sit down which is always most important at a buffet. Definitely better than a gold corral type place. It was interesting, they played the "happy birthday" song in an Asian accent over the loud speaker. It came on twice. Funny the first time, irritating the second. The decor was very dated. But sort of what you expect out of restaurant like this. It kind of brings you back to the late 1980's when Daniel son was being taught life lessons of marshal arts. Which is kind of fun to think of. Overall pretty decent. Friendly waitress. Cheap!

I drop by this buffet when I am in the area which is usually a few times a year. My niece and I decided to check out the newly renovated space last weekend. The outside lighted sign is the first thing you notice. It is almost screaming Come In! For those of you who remember the old place, you will see the entrance has been moved. This is great because you get to view the full buffet and updated space when you walk in. The beautiful colors and lighting on the ceiling gives the place a nice relaxing glow. The giant colored windows in the plain areas gives it the extra pop without being gaudy. The tables are still the same but they now have huge tables that can seat 8 -10 people. There are so many seating areas you never feel like someone is on top of you while you're enjoying your meal. The service is still excellent. The wait staff ensures your table is kept clean and take used plates very quickly. They understand you came eat yet they are still attentive to your needs such as refilling your drinks. I really like how you don't feel like they want you out when you have finished eating. I found the staff working the buffet floor to be super helpful and friendly. I always enjoyed the various selections of seafood, sushi, vegetables, fruit and meat. Like most buffets there is something for everyone. The prices are exactly in the right range for this small town. If you want to bring dinner home for someone, they even have take-out service. There are no restrictions on what you can choose if you use this option. What makes this place different is the convenient location. It is literally in the heart of a major shopping center for this area. There is a Walmart, Target, Kohls and many other chain stores nearby. No need to drive for miles just to satisfy your cravings. You can shop then stop over for a great meal at a very decent price. Highly recommend this restaurant for the tasty food, excellent location and the new spacious place.

Oh my goodness. This place has amazing food and sushi. I can't wait to go back. Truly the best sushi around.

    (5)
  • Zhiqiang C.

It is the best buffet in U.S I experienced. The various seafood are pretty freshed and sushi are very tasted. The food are more than their worth. You cannot image you can enjoy such an good meal with such a low price.

  • David C.

Damn. Worst buffet I've ever been to. The food was oily. The meats were overcooked. This was even worse than the Golden Corral. And the service was non existent. Granted they stuck me in a dark corner. But they never came by to pick up any of the plates, and I had to go to them to get the check. What I don't understand is why the place is packed on Friday at 7 pm. Do these people not when food is bad? Even the canned fruit was bad. Maybe it doesn't matter when it's all you can eat for under $12. I give this restaurant my lowest rating.

One of the best Chinese restaurants around , the buffet is excellent, lots and lots of choices. They are always refilling the buffet. Every station seems to have a lot of food all the time. The staff is excellent, very friendly. They even have balloons for the children. This is the only Chinese buffet that my family wants to go to. Overall everything was excellent

  • Jaylynn S.

This buffet is by far the best Chinese place in the Lehigh valley! I've been coming to this buffet for about a year now and each time it is always great. Never a disappointment. Food is always fabulous, hot, and fresh. Lots of selection to choose from as well. The service is excellent, and the place is always kept very clean. I live about 25 minuets away from this place but still continue to come on a regular basis because it's worth the drive. I would highly recommend this place!

  • Brenna S.

The majority of the food is very tasty; unfortunately the sushi is subpar and the service is awful. Not only do the servers rush you to leave the restaurant, but they are also incredibly rude! When my family and I visited the Hibachi Grill & Supreme Buffet recently the waiters and waitresses badgered my daughter and her friend constantly, suspecting them of getting ready to dine and dash just because they are teenagers (such an awful stereotype, isn't it?). My server forced my husband to pay way before we were ready, and then demanded him to write the tip, all while standing over his shoulder. Overall, my experience was nothing short of appalling when I just wanted to spend a nice night with my family.

  • Dex R.

I'm just laughing at the negative reviews. It's a buffet and only costs around 10 bucks per person for dinner! You get what you pay for! I would say this buffet is my favorite buffet in the area. The food are typically what you get in other buffet but in larger diversity and more definitely more fresh than other buffets. This buffet has all different kinds of food such as meat, fish, shellfish, vegetables, and even American dishes such as pizza. I didn't try sushi there in any of my visits, because technically, you're not suppose eat sushi that's already been made and put on display and especially when people are walking pass the naked sushi. Got to follow Asian dad's advice, "Never eat sushi in a buffet!" Overall, a decent place to go.

  • Truck C.

Would have given it 5 stars not because its a 5 star restaurant but if you want buffet it's as good as it gets. Lost a star for the grill guys constant "thank you" to force a tip. That can get annoying to most but I love it because at the top of my lungs I yell " NO thank you!!!" They stop saying it to me right away.

I went to Hibachi Grill and Buffet under the impression that we'd have the opportunity to sit at a hibachi table like at A-1 or Ichiban, but in actuality, you have to choose your RAW ingredients from a buffet and stand in a line in front of a single hibachi cook who would then make your food in front of you (and they have a tip jar for you to shell out more money). I passed on the line and tried some of the regular Chinese food at the buffet instead. Once you've had GOOD Chinese food (Eastern Palace in Bethlehem or JJ Wongs on Freemansburg Ave), it's really difficult to go back to a buffet. The quality of food is considerably poorer and although there's a huge selection, the food just isn't that good. It's about on par with a passable takeout or delivery place, but nothing more. It's a good place if you like buffets and have picky children who want the option to have some American food instead of Chinese food (and they even have desserts and multiple flavors of ice cream), but it's just plain not a place I'd recommend.

Their aim is to be best Chinese food in Bethlehem. Buffet is $6.99 11:00AM-03:30PM $8.99 03:30PM-10:00PM Mon-Wed $9.99 03:30PM-10:30PM Thu-Sat $9.99 11:00PM-10:30PM Sun Carry Out per pound $4/lunch-$5/dinner-$7sushi & seafood. There are now three Chinese restaurants in the same area: Eastern Palace Restaurant Inc 3926 Linden Street (Walmart parking lot) China King Restaurant 3827 Nazareth Pike (Kmart parking lot) Hibachi Grill PA 3811 Nazareth Pike 18020 (Kmart parking lot)

This place was pretty gross. I heard good things about the hibachi, and yeah that was the only good part of the whole experience. It was tasty. Too bad you have to wait in a ridiculous line, holding your plate of raw meat and vegetables like an idiot, because everyone else must be thinking the same thing that everything else sucks. The "Chinese" food was really super greasy. No crab legs (I guess that explains the cheap price). DON'T eat the sushi, thank god I smelled it before I put it in my mouth. Oy. Not good.

    (2)
  • Dan E.

Pretty good food, plenty of variety for all.

    (4)
  • Michelle H.

Very pretty inside. The sushi tastes weird and the shrimp was gross. That's unusual for me because I love buffets and never have any problems. The staff was nice, of course but sorry to say I won't go there again.

  • John K.

For the several Chinese Buffets in the area I would have to say this is average for the amount of people who go here. I been here twice, the both times I been here the wait was 15 minutes to be seated because of the long line. They offer a lot of food (more then most buffets in the area), however, the food was only average. I been to many other Chinese buffets that had better food, although the ice cream is very delicious. They offer a variety of ice cream, sushi, American foods, and Asian foods. If your wondering if they offer raw clams that is a negative. They offer raw oysters instead. If your looking for crab legs then look elsewhere because your not finding them here.

Been here many times with the family...Service is great..very attentive... Many choices and the buffet is always stocked and clean. Its not five star dining...but for a buffet it is really good and not expensive. We have been here many times, and just the past couple days. We will be back. It is good for a good meal. I travel a a lot and it has been a kind of tradition that when I come back home we go to this place... Lots of choices for me and the family. Everybody gets what they want and the food is prepared properly.. Again, this is a buffet. I notice some other posts that try to compare this to five star dining. It is what it is. For about 10 bucks you serve yourself, eat within a minute or two and can go back and back.etc. Repeat, rinse.. So... but then again they have all kinds of other 'live' options as I call them. They have chef or two in the back that will make special orders and is quite good too. So, give this place a try. And the service is really good. Other Lehigh Valley establishments should take notes here.

Everything was fresh the dining room was clean. I enjoyed myself. I wouldn't go back b/c buffets are just way too tempting for a gal on a diet.

Disclaimer: I am Chinese. It is what it is. This place offers cheap eat-in buffet meals and inexpensive quick takeout by the pound. It's all very "Americanized" Chinese and Japanese food. Personally, I thought the sushi was average but the all you can eat is a nice value. Although you're not really supposed to be shoving in sushi like that. The hibachi wasn't bad either. They have a window where they cook it in front of you and you pick out your own mix of meat and vegetables. The problem was that everything else was really not worth it and you could probably do better by ordering actual takeout from a good Chinese takeaway place. Apparently they do have more expansive raw bar and sashimi offerings on weekend nights. That might be worth the trip. I would still go if I had to feed a huge crowd a lunch or something like that. I just wouldn't go out of my way to "eat Chinese" here.

  • Howie A.

I don't understand the negativity on the reviews as for a Chinese buffet this is as good as it gets. There is more than enough of a selection and everything was very tasetful. One of the largest around and the it was not all that expensive. They run coupons like in ValPak and the newspaper from time to time. I enjoyed the real hard scoop yourself ice cream. How many places even have that. I would not hesitate to recommend, it doesn't get any better than this.

  • Jason J.

Do not eat here! This was disgusting, the food was gross. The steak was not chewable, all the buffet food was nasty, there were giant fruit flies all over the fruit at the buffet bar. The service was awful and rude, the were vacumming and I was standing still and they elbowed me and never said anything to me. they cleaned the bathroom floors and they were slippery but no water was present on the floor, i saw the water they were using it was darker than dark, my guess is they used it in the kitchen and it was greasy and then they spread it all over the bathroom floors. If your poor and dirty, than this is the place for you.

  • Rich S.

I've been here a few times since my last review & can say their food taste & quality has been improving. The "Singapore Chicken" dish they added is great. Many of the other items that used to be average (such as stuffed shells, walnut chicken, shrimp items & even the chicken salad) have gotten much better.

    (4)
  • Randi R.

Trough Restaurant. Food is marginal. Crowds are enormous. Price is good. Not worth it.

    (2)
  • Ben R.

For what it is, I think its the best around. What is it? Well, its not a Hibachi Grill, they just have a grill in the back where you can order hibachi style dishes. This is a large buffet, with mediocre food, including unlimited sushi. If you want a Chinese buffet fix, this is it.

    (4)
  • Sebrina R.

This was my first time going to a Hibachi place, therefore I can't say from personal experience it was the worst. But they have everything set up like a buffet. Definitely not what I or any of my friends were expecting. We decided to at least try it anyway, none of us were impressed in the least. I've had my fair share of Asian food, and this was nothing to write home about (enough to write a not so great review on though). I honestly wouldn't recommend this place at all. There was probably 2 things out of everything I tried that were actually good, everything else could have been loads better. I would say if you're expecting a Hibachi place, go somewhere else. You're more than likely to be disappointed going here, as we all were.

I dined here every day during a week-long recent business trip to the area, and it is a find! This is an extraordinary restaurant offering a huge array of foods for a small price. Many of the items are delicious. My favorite is the fried tofu which regrettably, is available only at lunch. There is also a hibachi buffet where the diner selects his or her items and sauce(s). The drawbacks are the repetitive canned music, the fact that not all of the buffet items are available until more than a half hour after the 11:00 a. m. opening, that the hibachi chefs are not particularly friendly, and that the hibachi dishes take too long to cook. If one wants to sample a large number of Asian items at a bargain price, though, in a comfortable atmosphere, Hibachi Buffet is the place!

    (4)
  • Rick M.

this is NOT a hibachi grill! It is a glorified buffet! Not bad, but certainly nothing special. Frank .. Above is obviously a marketing guy from yellow pages or some other media.. Clueless.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
