So nice finding a decent restaurant on the Main Line. A small BYO in Lancaster Ave in Berwyn. Attentive service even noticed that our candle went out and came back with a replacement. Dishes were well prepared and delicious. We opted for a large antipasti for two and two pasta dishes. The veal sausage was particularly tasty. We were stuffed. Only downside is the seating is a bit cramped.

I read an earlier review that Tiramisu was not ready for prime time; if that was true then they made good use of the past month because they are definitely ready now. The service matched the best of the Main Line and our appetizer and pasta dishes were excellent. We are looking forward to returning and bringing friends.

Unf, Tiramisu. You've ended my years-long quest to find homemade four-cheese gnocchi on the Main Line, and man does it knock the socks off. Even the boy, who normally decries gnocchi with as many pejoratives as you can find, agrees that he could learn to love this dish if it were prepared this well all the time. Don't blink too hard at the "sparkling, still or tap water?" question -- this place is much more down to earth than the question implies. The service is decently enthusiastic, if still a bit shaky. The ambient music can be taken down a notch, but the setting is very well decorated and cozy. Tables are fairly close together and you can definitely hear the conversations of your fellow dinner companions, so avoid bringing your screaming baby for dinner if possible. The food was utterly fantastic, like I mentioned above. Whatever they do to their delicious flatbread and oil-and-vinegar dip, keep it up! Though the caesar salad wasn't quite up to my taste (just not a fan of mustard in the dressing, that's all), hubs had a fantastic house special arugula-and-artichoke salad. Veal with mushroom and red wine reduction was superb. We both had the namesake dessert, which is a must-try. Best part are the prices, really -- can't go wrong with reasonably-priced entrees and significant portions to take home with you. You'd almost think it was Fellini's Cafe down the block, except ten times more delicious! Next time you have a great bottle of two-buck chuck or a couple of Stella's, save it and bring it along with you for dinner, since this place is a BYOB.

Had a grand lunch at Tiramisu today with my hubby. He is a fish lover and had the sea bass with grilled eggplant----super he said. And I had homemade wide pasta with ricotta cheese----delicious. Decor is lovely with tablecloths and paintings on the walls. Service was efficient and friendly. We have been wanting to dine here for weeks but since we are a 20 minute drive away, it took this long to finally "do lunch." Very happy we did so and we all be back. Highly recommended. P.S. We did not have the "specials." Prices reasonable.

Ate here and had a party of 8 including 3 children and they were very accommodating from reservations to options for the kids. Food was incredible and so was the service. Favorite restaurant in the area.

Anytime we have a babysitter, we go to Tiramisu. Great BYOB! Love the artichoke and mozzarella appetizers. The specials are always great and the lobster ravioli is to die for!

Came here for a family dinner and enjoyed it immensely. The service was warm and efficient. The restaurant has two small dining areas which made it more intimate. It was not very busy on a Sunday night and they were very attentive. We started out with their fantastic bread and oil and balsamic and moved on to appetizers which were great but for those who are on a low salt diet I could see how done might feel it was too salty. The food was excellent though a bit rich. The main dishes were all excellent but, again, a bit heavy. I usually reserve the coveted 5th star for restaurants that clearly have a lighter fare. It isn't a run-of-the-mill Italian which is interesting and the quality is top-notch.

My husband and I had dinner this evening. He had soup, which he said was good. We both shared the mussels/clams in tomato broth. The mussels were too big, very chewy, the clams were good. Sauce could have been thicker. In addition, my husband had a salad with a couple of substitutions. He claimed that the dressing was salty. I had a pounded veal dish with salad greens on top. The dressing in my salad was also salty. Overall, I was disappointed, The dishes were overpriced and overrated. I am a private chef and I tend to critique dishes when I have the opportunity to eat out. We will not be returning nor would we recommend it to anyone.

I have been to this restaurant 3 times in the last couple months and the food is just delicious. Veal is a favorite of mine but it is difficult to find soft, thin, cut with a fork veal in most restaurants. I found it here! I had two of the veal dishes, Picatta and one with artichokes and mushrooms. They were both great dishes and served with tasty polenta. The artichoke appetizer is a must have dish as well. I tried a number of desserts and my favorite is the Roman Cheesecake (not a traditional cheesecake so beware if you expecting that). The four cheese gnocchi is another wonderful dish. The gnocchi is made fresh there and is perfect in texture and taste. Note, it is no longer BYOB for those who have been there in the past. A couple people in previous reviews have mentioned the saltiness of some dishes and I have to agree. I personally like things on the salty side so it didn't effect how I felt about my dishes but someone in my party felt it was too much.

This restaurant was wonderful. We've stayed in the Jewish Ghetto in Rome many times and always enjoyed that style of Italian. We passed over this restaurant in the past because on the Main Line BYOB usually means poor food. I'm sure they changed this policy to raise the quality of the clientele to attract those of us not afraid to buy a bottle of wine and not be captive of the state store selection. The fried artichokes were reminiscent of Rome. The veal was heavenly. The porcini mushrooms perfectly cooked. The tiramisu light and airy. This is our new go to place.

This place has Italian food that could compete with anything in the city. Not just philly but NY. The gnocchi is my favorite. With tomato sauce is great! The Basile is so fresh! The four cheese gnocchi is also amazing. Thing of the BEST mac and cheese U ever had and it is with the best fresh hand made gnocchi! Then I also had the grilled squid. Great flavor Pan seared to perfection and very big serving. AND THEN desert: you NEED to try the roman cheese cake! Amazing. The service is fantastic and it is a BYOB. Considering this place is on the main line and as good as it is the prices great.

Went there with the Mrs. a few days ago. Entrees....The Red Snapper was quite good. She had the Four Cheese Gnocchi, equally good. The service was attentive, knowledgeable. So why 2 stars? Easy....Who is the idiot who was screaming in the kitchen? Other diners and I exchanged glances when it became intrusive. If I wanted to hear this, I would have stayed home with the kids. Ruined a night out.

I have been to TM many times over the last few years, and last night will be my last visit. We had early reservations at 5:00. The service was poor at best. The food was mediocre at best, and the prices were too high for what was served. Is this under new ownership? Our past visits were great, this time it seemed that they had forgotten what made them great. Getitng our waiter's attention in a room that only had 2 other tables being served was an ordeal. The last straw was dessert. The waiter went over the dessert menu and we chose 2 deserts to share. The waiter came back in a couple of minutes to let us know they were out of the deserts we ordered? Remember this was 5:00 and they were out of desserts already, and the wait staff did not know this? We will not be back again, and will not any longer recommend TM to anyone.

My girlfriend and I happened to be visiting some friends on the mainline, specifically Berwyn, a few weeks ago. Both of us being famished, we inquired about a recommendation for a restaurant. The consensus was to try Tiramisu, and indeed what a dining experience. The ambiance, food and service were exemplary. While enjoying our second course of homemade gnocchi pomodoro we see legendary radio man Sid Mark come through the door. I say to myself that's pretty cool, I continue enjoying my pasta when lo and behold Mr. Frank Sinatara Jr. walks into the restaurant. I'm generally not a star struck guy but its Sinatara Jr., walking into this fine dining restaurant on the mainline!! I started hearing Fly me to the moon in my head!! People like Mark, and Sinatra Jr. have a multitude of places they can dine at, but they decided to come here. Point being, this establishment is first class. I inquired about the proprietor and was told he is the chef and owner, Shawn Debello. My girlfriend and I left so satisfied in every context. Tiramisu is not just a restaurant, it is a complete dining experience!!

Even though I passed this restaurant many times, I never ate there. Upon the recommendation of my son and his wife , my girlfriend and I decided to give it a try. Plus I have been to many restaurants in the Jewish quarter of Rome , I was exited about it being a Jewish Roman restaurant. We ordered the artichoke appetizer . For the main course we got the rack of lamb and the oven seared seafood plate. And here's unfortunately the reason for the poor rating. All the dishes were soo salty that we could not eat everything. It tasted like we put a spoonful of pure salt in our mouth. The artichoke was spottily salty, meaning two pieces were tasting like eating pure salt but the other pieces tasted fine. Both the seafood and the lamb dishes tasted the same .The lamb was eatable and some of the seafood pieces were eatable, but the broccoli and the fish were literally burning our throats . It was unfortunate because the dishes were presented beautifully and the meat and the seafood looked fresh and the portions were big. When commented on this to our waiter, he really did not have an explanation. As a nice gesture he did not charge us for the cork fee. The service was excellent, our water glasses were constantly filled, even though we set at the table talking for hours and paid the bill. I will give them another try because my children who frequent this restaurant never had a bad experience , certainly not the over salting issue,

My husband and I have visited a few times now and we absolutely love the food! Our waiter was very attentive both times (same waiter). We forgot to bring wine the first time, so they held our table while we drove a minute to pick up a bottle at the wine and spirits place down the street. When I wasn't sure what to get, he recommended putting together something that wasn't on the menu- a sampler of a 3 favorite pastas. It was great to have the opportunity to try all 3 delicious dishes. Really, all the food had amazing flavor, even the polenta. Polenta had never been a favorite of mine, but their recipe converted me. We visited in the warmer months and sat outside both times on the front porch and walked through the restaurant to get there. The interior is a bit tight, but it reminds me of a cafe or small restaurant that you would find in Italy, Portugal, etc. I think it adds to the ambiance if you just accept it and enjoy the company of those around you. (Enjoying a glass of wine ever hurt either!) Parking seems to always be available, but you might have to park on a side street and walk a block or two.

This small BYOB Roman-Jewish place had been on our "should try" list too long. What an oversight! One of the best meals we've had! We will certainly repeat this visit.

Went to Tiramisu on Friday night (a snow storm was in the forecast). The food was quite good. I followed the recommendations of my fellow Yelp-ers, and ordered the artichoke appetizer. It was delicious and the portions were large for an appetizer! (Maybe 5 whole baby artichokes?) I had the grilled squid, as my entrée, which was done well. Be forewarned - they use the squid body, not the tentacles, and grilling gives a completely different texture to the squid. If you are accustomed to the typical deep fried calamari appetizer that is so often served at Italian restaurants, Tiramisu's squid is very, very different. The squid (4 pieces) is served on a polenta cooked with cheese, which was creamy and delicious. The bread is baked from matzo, which is a nice touch. Their tiramisu dessert is wonderful! Service was spotty, but our waitress was new and probably nervous. For example, she asked us whether we wanted dessert before we were halfway through our dinners. (Maybe her first day working at the restaurant?) Anyway, will definitely go back!

The food was on the whole very good. But "Lasagna made with a Bechamel sauce and artichokes" was not lasagna. When we sent it back but the waiter was so rude. Said we should have read the description. When you order lasagna you have an expectation. Gnocchi was great. Rich creamy sauce. Loved the roasted artichokes they are a must have. I was irritated with the corkage fee. If you have a corkage fee put the charge in your ads not a slip of paper informing people as they enter the restaurant.

Very good meal. Artichoke appetizer is a must. There is a corkage fee charged that is not advertised.

One hiccup , but otherwise a very good meal. Ordered salad and the artichokes and waited almost 25 minutes. I'm not sure what happened. The lady that took our order seemed to be doing everything except waiting tables, so I'm guessing the order got lost. Anyway, the special Arugula Salad was excellent as were the artichokes. I would absolutely order the artichokes, they are better than Savona. The Veal Piccata was excellent. The veal was white, fork tender and came with beets and perfectly cooked brocolli. A veal chop was a special and it was just as good as the Veal Piccata. Large chop cooked exactly the way I ordered and it also came with beets and creamy mashed potato's. Instead of Tiramisu we opted for the Tartufo, which was very rich, but good. Bill with tax and corkage came to $100. For food this good I thought it was well worth it. The loss of our order wasn't good and no one seemed to notice that we waited an extemely long time. Parking is very tight and with all the snow around you might have to walk a ways. Would go back and try a pasta dish, which most people seemed to order.

This place is perfect for a romantic evening. I took my wife there for Valentine's day and never regretted it. Another plus to dining on the main line. Staff is helpful.

I read the other 12 reviews of this place and I even read the 28 filtered reviews. Weird that there are more filtered than unfiltered! And wow, how can everyone have so completely different an experience than everyone else? All I can comment on is our own experience, which was overall, pleasant. It's a BYOB, as noted, which is always great. The decor here is homey and warm, it is small but we didn't feel cramped. Our waiter was professional and the overall service was good. We had the carciofi (jewish artichokes) to start and they were fried with a crispy outside. Wonderful. Drizzled olive oil and balsamic vinegar completed the dish. None of us ordered pasta, we jumped to the main course. I had a chicken dish with red peppers and a nice chicken stock sauce. It was accompanied by a nice creamy polenta which had cheese on it, spinach, and carrots that were lightly spiced and seasoned well. All dishes were seasoned well. The duck a l'orange was simple but good, and the portion was nice and large. All portions actually were large. Some folks will have leftovers, and there's nothing wrong with that. We had the limoncello sorbet which had nice limoncello flavor but was a bit heavy on the cream, which had been swirled into it. The bomba was nice, it had a chocolate crust around the outside and chocolate and vanilla ice cream on the inside. A bit of fruit sauce to complete it. We'll be back to try pasta, which of course is very important to get right. But everything we had here was simple and tasty on this night.

Maybe 4.5 stars !! Always great fresh food , fish ,and pasta dishes are excellent . The Jewish /Roman thing threw me a bit before i tried Tiramisu, look at it as Italian with a flair . It can be loud . Been 3 times , never had room for desert . Ask the price of the specials , they can be expensive . We will be back ,it is a keeper

My friend and I had dinner there on Friday night. I called to make a reservation and the answering machine picked up and I left my info. I later called back around noon and made a reservation for 7 that evening but did not tell them to disregard my phone message. I never received a return call from the message I left. Maybe no follow up of maybe they realized. Don't know. We were seated and our wine was uncorked and served. We were given a small basket of grilled bread and a tiny bowl of olive oil and balsamic vinegar that was unimpressive. Started with the antipasto della casa. Ample portion for two consisting of beautiful grilled artichokes, a chick pea salad, mozzarella with roasted peppers and smoked salmon over salad greens. The greens were over dressed. That was served with a well seasoned dish of flat breads. All very nice fresh flavors. Moved on to fettuccine con tartuffo. I was really looking forward to this but as soon as the plate was put on the table I knew it was a bust. The perfume of truffle should be obvious when the plate is steaming in front of you. But I gave it a taste and there was nary a scent or flavor of truffle in the sauce. And for $24.99 plate of pasta there sure as hell should be. And at least a shave or two of truffle. Next we split the lamb chops with porcini and polenta. Huge portion and they were delicious and served medium rare as requested. The chops were well seasoned, the porcini and sauce were abundant. The vegetables on the dish were broccoli and carrot. The large pieces of carrot were tender and sweet and I was relieved that they weren't undercooked which so often happens. Broccoli was fine. There was also a scoop of polenta that was fabulous with butter and cheese with a touch of golden raisin which was delightful with all the other flavors. I don't live in the area but certainly would go back when I am. BTW, there were two specials that night. Osso bucco and duck al'orange and taking a tip from another review I did ask and both dishes were $29.95. More than anything else on the menu.

WARNING - the "SPECIALS" as rattled off by the server are way higher in price than anything else on the regular menu. San Marco in Springhouse and Bocelli in Gwynedd Valley do the same thing. They keep their menu at very reasonable price ranges and then wallop you when you order from the specials of the day sales pitch at the table. To me that is just not genuine. At least the $5 per bottle corkage fee is posted on the door. But WTF, they are a BYOB, is this a Main Line thing? It's "take advantage of the neighborhood" I guess. Anyway, back to the $30 charge for Bolgnese over Linguine special served in a small bowl. If my memory serves me correctly, there is not one pasta dish over $19 on the menu, but the special pasta of the day is $30. Kiss my ass!! The average salad on the menu was $8, but the special salad of arugula with blueberry goat cheese was $11. OK, the salad was very good but the bolognese was average for what I would have expected. My friend had the Pompano which was also very good, a fresh, nice portion. And yes, the artichokes app are original in preparation and delicious. This is a good little neighborhood spot, with what I would say almost 4 star food, 3 star service, but 1 star for pissing me off. You should not leave a place where you had a very good meal with a bad taste in your mouth.

I have been here before and when friends suggested it for dinner I said sure. I called to make the reservation. But I had to make a slight change and when I called the day before our dinner they could not find my original reservation, but luckily were able to make a new one. How annoying! We arrived on a Saturday night and the place was full. Wow, that's great for a small business Italian restaurant, especially when there are two other Italian restaurants within one block. We were seated in the side room, squished into a corner. Hmmmm, when you have two normal sized guys think about squished.. We could tell that we were here for the company and not the ambience. The noise level was loud and getting louder. Saving grace....................the food and the service. You start off with a basket of flat breads and rolls. Try the artichokes cooked in Oil, you can share this with another person and they are unusual. The Arugola salad was also very good. I had the grilled calamari. Please note......these were whole calamari smothered with herbs, served on a bed of polenta.......... My friend cautioned me that these were not fried. To tell you the truth I had never had them this way and I wanted to try it. They were very good,,,,,,,,,,,tasty......but I'm not sure I'll have them again. I've become too used to the Americanized version of fried calamari with sauce. The veal chop special was also very good. The duck was good and the pasta dish my husband got with sausage was good. Soooooooooooooo their saving grace was the food.

Went here about a month ago and what was quite impressed with the food and service. The decor was nice, a little tight as the tables were quite close together but besides that everything else was great. The staff was extremely friendly, the service was prompt and the food was excellent. We ordered off the menu and specials and did not dislike a single dish between 4 appetizers and 4 entres. I would definitely come back.

I had one meal here and will not go back. I tried the home made mozzarella and it was chewy and bland. Bleh. Then my entree was so loaded with salt that I couldn't finish it. My date thought his plate was "ok" but we both agreed we weren't impressed.

Went here for dinner with my family- I really liked this place. The restaurant itself is rather small- seating is pretty cramped- but it had a nice atmosphere. Everyone's salads were good. I got the fettuccini alla ebraica, which was totally delicious- artichokes are my favorite food, so it's awesome to find a restaurant that uses them in multiple dishes. My dad and sister liked their food, but my mom and fiancé weren't as happy- my mom's chicken was dry, and my fiancé's steak had to be sent back to be cooked more; however, when it came back, he said it was delicious. The waitstaff was very attentive and polite and definitely made us feel welcome. I would definitely come back- it's nice to find a place with interesting food that isn't like every other Italian restaurant in the area. The closest parking lot was full, so they had someone standing outside telling you where to park, which was helpful. Note: They are BYOB and charge a $5 fee to open bottles for you.

I was pleasantly surprised with this place. First of all, you have to love that it's BYO. The ambiance is nice, our table was beneath a sky light and next to a window. The service was fair... no one really paid much attention to us but they were generally nice. The menu was difficult to find something to eat, however everything that anyone in our 6 person party got was absolutely DELICIOUS. I ordered the Chicken w/ Rosemary, Garlic, & Olive Oil. It was cooked to perfection, nice, juicy, and flavorful. The chicken dish included a small serving of buttery polenta, grilled squash, zucchini, and roasted beets. YUM! The veggies alone were amazing enough to have me come back here. The whole dish was only $15, which was a great price for the amount of food I got. If you can get past the fact that everything on the menu is very simple, go. It all tastes amazing and is very fresh.

Both food and service (especially service) needs to be notched up a bit to be able to compete with the good Italian food available all over the Main Line...especially within a block along Rt. 30. I ate at Tiramisu on a Monday night with a group of 6. Our servers, although very pleasant and clearly trying hard to get it right, were clueless. The salad of the day was described as arugula salad with shaved parmesan and artichokes. When the runner brought the salads to the table he asked who ordered the chef salads. Six heads nodded "not me" but he just stood there holding two salad plates. I finally said that I had ordered the arugula salad and he said, "Oh, this is the same thing." I looked at the plate and there wasn't an arugula leaf in sight nor could I see any artichokes. After saying several times, the salad he was holding was not what we ordered he took them back to the kitchen. More than five minutes passed. Another youngster came back and said the chef ran out of arugula and was mixing it with other greens and proceeded to serve the "chef" salad. At this point we agreed to eat what we were served except that only three salads were served and four of us had ordered it. Another 5 minutes passed before the 4th salad arrived. It was simply a mix of spring lettuce with cheese sliced on it. Hardly worth being charged for the "special' salad. My gnocchi was pretty good; the pasta was soft and not to heavy but the sauce was mild to boring. I'm back to Frankie's in a heartbeat....even with the noise and crowds I'd rather have better food, bigger portions, and reliable service.

I find it AMAZING that the editors of this forum have seen fit to filter ALL 6 of the 5 STAR reviews of this restaurant including my own. I can only conclude that this rating system is severely flawed and you must have something against a new restaurant getting such rave reviews. Now you may filter this one as well.

Love this place! The first time I went I didn' know it was BYOB and they brought the three of us each a glass of red wine! I took my family on a second visit and the food was delicious. We all vowed to return many times. Great, great, great!

My wife and I were fans of the old Tiramisu at 5th&South and we were very happy to see the reincarnation in our hometown of Berwyn. Our 1st 2 visits were very good & reminiscent of the original Tiramisu. For various reasons we've been back 4 times, and both the quality of the food and especially the quality of the service seems to be in a continuous downward trend. While we don't expect LaCroix, we also don't expect to continually ask and then remind our server for everything we need whether it be silverware, a bread refil, or grated cheese at the time pasta is served. Our last visit on Thursday, July 12th, was a total disappointment and left us believing that this restaurant is simply incapable of consistlknency.

The food was good, but the restaurant has some issues. We went there twice within a month, both times with 4 people. On the first visit, we thought the restaurant was small, but we had a nice table and were seated comfortably. We thought the menu was reasonably priced, but ordered the specials at the urge of our water. Much to our surprise, the specials were prices significantly higher than any items on the menu. The special was good, but not worth $30.00. On the second visit, a few weeks later, we noticed a sign on the door that there is a corkage fee of $5.00---new policy. Our assumption was there would be a $5 charge per bottle of wine. We had a bottle of red and a bottle of white. We also had a few bottles of beer for the men in our party. The men opened and poured their own beer as well as brought their bottles home with them to recycle. Much to our surprise, we were charged $15.00 for corkage. When we inquired about the fee, we were told that we were being charged a corkage fee for the beer. When we questioned that charge, we were told that they needed "to pay for their linens and they needed to make a profit." It was actually laughable. We suggested that they may just want to raise their menu prices. Again, the food was delicious, but the attitude was not. On principal, we will not be visiting again.

Tiramisu adds to the growing list of good local restaurants on Rt. 30 in Berwyn. Service was great, and the food was fresh and delicious. We had eaten in Chef Shan's restaurant in Manayunk, and he's taken the same creative ideas about Roman Jewish cuisine to his new restaurant. I'm going back this week with friends, and I can't wait.

BYOB - wish I did research before, didn't know this. We are new to the area were out for a drive to find a new place for dinner and stumbled upon this place! No reservations and we happen to get a table for two, it is very romantic and quaint. We both ordered the specials for the night and it was the best we have had in a long time! We will def be back here!

We had reservations at Savona, but traffic was too brutal on this rainy night, so my colleague and I stopped to try this cute neighborhood BYO. The fish was fresh, the plates attractive if nothing else, and the staff was presto vivace, attentive and friendly. Three months old, Tiramisu has location, parking and Italian food - a good recipe for buona fortuna. We split the cappelini and crab for app. Nice fresh basil and parlsey notes, but you couldn't tast the crab. I think the pasta was DiCecco. Colleague had fish and I had vitello con porcini alla marsala. Both were served with a scape of buttery polenta, carraway carrot slices, sauteed spinach and a tiny purple orchid. Some of the other plates moving around us looked good; the antipasti, insalati and risotti especially. The place seems well thought through front and back of the house. We ended with stale tasting espresso (no crema), and searched through the odd house interpretation of Tiramisu, served standing on a corner in a chlled glass, for the missing liquer soaked lady fingers or amaretti. Weren't prepared to BYO, and wished they had offered us a glass of wine. Every server (there were a LOT of them) was really nice and made a point to check in at ever juncture.

Had lunch with 4 girlfriends on a Thursday. We shared a $19.99 antipasti plate that was enough for the five of us. I had the linguini with clams which was ok. I had a taste of my friend's grilled chicken which I thought it was too salty.. The setting is cute and intimate but I think for the quality, it was overpriced, but this is seems to be much prevalent on the mainline for any good ethnic food.

In short, not ready for prime time, in food or service. First the food. We had the linguine alla ebraica which was overcooked and mushy; the pesce mista, mixed grilled fish, listed as a house specialty, was dry from being overcooked and seasoned into oblivion. My artichoke heart appetizer, lightly fried, was decent, though too heavy on the vinegar for my taste. The matzah's in olive oil in the bread basket are by far the best thing I had this evening from Tiramisu. The service was more comical. We had a younger, competent waiter, and another slightly balding head waiter who asked us twice within 5 minutes if everything was OK. The second time, he addressed it to my companion, who is hard of hearing and engaged in conversation. Because she didn't respond, he SHOUTED to repeat the question a second time! Later, we overheard that this very waiter complaining to another couple that he finds the people here too soft, not as aggressive as his fellow New Yorkers.. Perhaps because we're not used to being shouted at by dbags from New York! In this small corner of Berwyn, with this newcomer, there are now three Italian places within short walking distance to choose from -- Tiramisu, Fellini and Alfredo. I haven't tried Fellini, but based on two good meals, I would heartily recommend Alfredo.

Best BYOB in the area! Highly recommend the seafood soup. The staff were all friendly and everything on the table was quality. Very happy!

Delightful dining experience on the Main Line. Our party of 6, celebrating a birthday, had dinner here tonight and everyone had positive things to say about their menu choices. Four of us shared 2 artichoke appetizers - two with the entree, which they were glad to accommodate. One person had the fresh mozzarella with roasted red peppers: a generous circle of cheese and very fresh, not overcooked or over-oiled peppers. One person had the special salad with blueberry goat cheese, which looked very fresh. For entrees, two of us had the potato gnocchi with tomato sauce. It was so tasty! One had the lobster ravioli and one had the fettucine with artichokes and mushrooms. Two veal dinners - one with mushrooms and black truffles, one piccata. All were absolutely delicious. (we did a lot of tasting of each other's meals). Nice presentation, attentive but not intrusive service, lots of water refills and friendly but not familiar service. We even splurged for desserts. The chocolate mousse, chocolate tartuffo and limoncello sorbetto were all perfect endings for the meal. My only complaint was the location of our table - we were in a corner and I was the person facing west who was repeatedly blinded by headlights from traffic going by on Lancaster Avenue. This problem could be solved by a half-blind in the window, opened on top but covering the traffic on the bottom. However, despite this issue, we will definitely go back to Tiramisu!

One of the few restaurants that understands the exquisite tastes of Roman Jewish cuisine. The Carcioffi Jiuda are excellent. The main dishes are carefully prepared and presented and the panama cotta is orgasmic. Espresso has a subtle chocolate finish that is not to be missed.

Went here with my fiancee and her family for a dinner. There seemed to be a lot of confusion as to have we got bread and water at the table. I managed to count 3 separate people walk up to us asking about water before we got any (oddly my water was the only one not poured). We did get our bread before the water which was great they have this amazing flat bread covered in black pepper. Also about 3-4 people stopped by to see if we ordered more bread. The staff seemed to be in a state of confusion throughout the night. The food was ok nothing to write home about, I had the special, a filet mignon, which I ordered mid-rare, and about three bites in I heard my steak moo, the center was still cold an bleeding heavily. I sent it back to get cooked again, it came out nice cut up for me but with slightly more fat attached to it than it left with. I did however have a great serving of broccoli that found its way on to my plate. My mother in law to be ordered a chicken dish which I was told was very dry and tough. My fiancee did however have a great pasta dish which she really enjoyed. Also I had one of the best caesar salads that I can remember. This place is BYOB so bring a bottle it is $5 for them to open bottles for you. Also the ambiance is nice but it is packed a group of five did not sit comfortably in here.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
