Always loved this place. And now they have margaritas! Pretty reasonably priced too. Taquitos chicken or pork are a must! This is the place that got my husband to like guacamole. I'm still on the fence (w/ the guac). I am however a huge burrito fan & this place has the best, hands down. If you like Mexican food, this place is a must do.

The most authentic Mexican restaurant near Wilmington, DE. Taqueria Moroleon offers some go-to Mexican standards: tacos, burritos, etc., but also has a great selection of less well-known fare... the crown jewel of these being the molcajete, a spicy stew of chicken and/or steak, tomatoes, onions, peppers, and chorizo. It comes out to your table sizzling in a stone mortar, for which it's named, with a side of rice, beans, guacamole, and tortillas. This stuff makes the best tacos ever! I suggest washing it down with a margarita on the rocks. The restaurant is very conducive to entertaining large parties. The attire is casual. The decor is quite interesting... think Tijuana meets Mt. Vernon... Stucco textured, terra-cotta walls framed in by crown moulding, chair-rails, wainscoting, and neoclassical columns and arches. It's cool though, there are all sorts of Mexican paintings, tapestries, pinatas, and sombreros hanging from them. A great place to take the family and meet up with friends.

Good Mexican food though certainly not the best I've had. My dining buddy gave the beef fajitas an acceptable rating; my horribly tough 'steak' tacos, which didn't taste much like steak at all were redeemed by the smoked pull pork tacos, among the best I've had. The service and wait time here left a LOT to be desired; While we visited on a somewhat busy Saturday evening, we didn't get the impression they were being slammed and there were still empty seats, so the near 45-minute wait time between order time and receiving the food was baffling and a bit annoying for two hungry guys. I've tasted flan all over the world and Taqueria Moroleon's is really good; I'd recommend it for anyone with a post-meal craving for something sweet. The ambiance was pretty much non-existent but I wouldn't go to a Mexican restaurant in Pennsylvania for a romantic and/or quaint dining experience anyway. Give this place a try if you find yourself in the area with a hankering for Mexican food and with a lot of extra time to spare.

First time here...chips+pico de gallo and I was good. BUT, had to order dinner, looked to good to ignore. Had the pollo ranchero with corn torts, beautiful thing. Did I say I was good with just the chips and pico? But dinner was the cherry on top. Nicely done and we sat at the bar where the bartender was on the ball. Great service. Saw families coming in, so that is always good to see. Worth a try and we're about 50 minutes away!

Great Mexican food. Plenty of parking. We love the Molcajete (mol-ka-hee-tay) kind of a hot stew which comes bubbling in a lava rock bowl. It is enough for two people to share. Flan for dessert is to die for. Kids always enjoy crunchy beef tacos.

I will no proclaim to be an expert in "authentic" Mexican food - I am merely completing my recovery program from years of fast food mexican and big chains that are not really too inventive. Arrived here last Saturday at 5:40 as part of a party of 7. This place is BUSY! We were seated promptly with plenty of chips and salsa. Other than a few that ordered beers - I was the only margarita drinker - went with the Presidente and enjoyed three of them over the course of the visit (yum!). We did some apps with the guacamole dip, spicy cheese dip and a plate of nachos. Nothing overly remarkable - but it was good. For dinner - I went with the Parrillada (steak) - it was good - steak could have been just a little more tender, but I was happy with it. My wife enjoyed the Pollo Campesino - very good with the only suggestion to uplift the chicken a little - her chicken was a very slight/pounded down piece that was very thin - wold like to see a juicier fuller chicken breast on this meal. Service here was efficient, mostly timely. We didn't wait a long time for much of anything. I would definitely try here again - maybe even lunch since I am close.

After an unsuccessful tasting at Va La winery up the road, I was hoping to dissipate my disappointment with a fine Mexican lunch. Unfortunately, Taquería Moroleón never matched the food of my favorite Philly taquerias. The huge menu written in the style of popular tex-mex chains (with many of the same dishes) did not inspire confidence and the dishes that came - tacos al pastor, mushroom quesadilla, huevos rancheros, all remained firmly in the "Meh" category, as did the soupy salsas. Much better: the chile relleno and the crunchy tortilla chips. Service was nice but absent after a while.

The one thing that Taquería Moroleón is missing for the real Méxican experience is having to present your Passport at the door and having it stamped. The food is as authentic and delicious. If anyone wants to try the best "Enchiladas de Mole Poblano" outside of The "Estados Unidos Mexicanos" (in some places this are called also "Enchiladas de Oaxaca or Oaxaqueñas"). This dish is probably made in a large cauldron by a powerful witch with the most exquisite taste. If someone has seen the movie "Como agua para chocolate" (Like Water for Chocolate), I bet you that they get their chocolate and other spices from the same bodega. Be ready to lick your fingers very very well after.

We have been going to this place for several years, even when they were a small place in Kennett Square. This is NOT a chain, but a family owned place. We recommend ordering what they call "chunky salsa" and the Quac for the chips - really good. The place has become more commercialized after if moved from Kennett but the food is still good, and now they have a liquor license. Some of the special dishes are the seafood soup, Molcajete in green sauce and the Tex Mex Fajitas Moroleon style are very good.

Mexican restaurant. That means it's time to talk about quesadillas. These are the best quesadillas I've ever had. Ok. Good. Done. Well, no, I need to go on a lot more, as you probably know, but that's the important part, so I wanted to make sure you got it. I was very surprised. I mean, for $4 you get a chicken quesadilla, and it is the thinnest thing I've ever seen. It looks like there's barely anything in there. And it comes with NOTHING - no tomatoes, no guacamole, no sour cream (cry!), no side dishes. What the heck? But it's awesome. The chicken is shredded, which is what keeps the height down, and the flavor of the chicken, melted cheese, and whatever little sauce they have in there is absolutely fantastic. I always feel like $4 for a small quesadilla that comes with nothing is a rip-off, but it's so good, I don't care. I spend my $9 - two quesadillas and $1 for sour cream (though, if everyone would like some, you only need to get one 'extra' helping - it's a pretty large container they give), and I'm in heaven. I usually get it as take out. I have eaten there once or twice, and you should only do that if you have lots of time on your hands. We took a dinner break between treatments over at NBC one night, and got over there around 6:15, knowing we'd need to leave by around 7:20. We came in, sat down, got drinks and free tortilla chips, ordered our food... which came at 7:25. So we got it packed right up, and booked it out of there. It appears speed isn't one of their strengths. But they did keep bringing more of those free tortillas, so, hey, whatever. By the way, if you ask for those tortillas to take with you on a takeout order, they're NOT free. What else about this place... everyone else seemed to also enjoy their food - and actually got a good amount of food for the price (unlike how I feel about the quesadillas). And they have those fun Mexican sodas. Most importantly, though: Best quesadillas ever. Take it from someone who knows nothing about Mexican food.

Authentic Mexican restaurant on the Pennsylvania/Delaware state line with a handsome interior. Got the sampler trio with queso, pico de gallo, and guacamole. All made fresh and presented beautifully. At the table next to us, I spotted a volcanic rock dish with bubbling juices, so I ordered the dish (I forget what it's called). Since I ordered the combo, it came with juicy, tender pieces of chicken, beef, and shrimp. Definitely a huge portion, which reheated well for lunch. Only downfall is that they were waiting on their liquor license. You can BYOB (i.e. margarita mix & tequila) and they will mix your drinks for you in their pitchers and glassware.

Had lunch there yesterday mid-afternoon (quieter and faster service). I was hungry for their terrific chips and salsa and went through two rounds! They can't be beat. Also had the chicken fajitas (gave me 3 flour tortillas this time) and also a great Chile Rellano, which was very decadently filled with cheese. I WILL be back and it IS worth the 8 mile drive!

Excellent food and BYOB. Try the Molcajete bowls - they are delicious and you will have leftovers for days!

Awesome chips and salsa to start. Wife had the nachos, which were delicious. I had the chicken campesino and it was great with just a little spice. Dessert menu was okay, didn't choose any.

I've driven by this place a few times and at night their parking lot is packed. So, a co-worker and I checked it out for dinner tonight. Walking in, the lighting was inmate and relaxing yet the hostess took us to a room next to the kitchen, with sort of harsh lighting. I ordered a horchata and one of their specials; enchiladas suiza; we were given Wednesday's specials. The chicken inside was moist and tasty. But it was described as spicy and it was far from it; I even asked the waiter before I ordered if it was spicy and he indicated it was. The complementary salsa was spicier than my dinner. It was just bland. The fried rice wasn't bad but the avocado slices were brown and the mango wasn't ripe. My horchata tasted like water down milk with a lot of cinnamon in it. It was disappointing. Maybe that's why they have a full bar, if you got drunk, everything might have tasted better. Our waiter was a young, short, in shape, darker skinned guy with moused back black hair. He wasn't very attentive. I had to get his attention a few times. Also when I asked him for a container for the little sauce I had left, he brought me a Styrofoam cup which was way to large to drive home with. So I just left my sauce there. Just an observation there were a lot of white people as customers. I say that because this food was not really Mexican. With as many Mexican restaurants as there are around this area, there are better ones. Adventure out to find them. I don't think I will be coming back to this place. On a plus, their parking lot is very well lit.

*Awesome* food, muy autentica & homemade-tasting, fabulous kick-ass margaritas, delicious vegetarian options too - don't know what else to say! Go there!! What a surprising find. :-)

Good food and drinks! But once it gets busy watch out because they forget about the great customers who have been paying, drinking and eating for hours. Haven't been here in a while because of service but came last week and it happened, thought it was a one-time thing then again this week totally forgotten. Its ashame a Mexican can't get great service at an authentic Mexican restaurant.

  • Vi C.

Very authentic -- if you avoid the Americanized dishes, but that's up to you! It's delicious. Do eat the tacos. It's a taqueria after all.

  • Assaf G.

Service was excellent. The place looks nice and has a nice bar that screens sports on multiple tv's. I had the burrito ranchero off the lunch menu for under 10$, my wife had the chicken fajitas, around 9$ also off the lunch menu, and we had the quesadilla chorizo for 7$ from the appetizer menu. The burrito was served with rice that was fine, but the burrito itself lacked any defining taste even with the jalapeños inside. The guacamole was bland. The fajitas were decent. The chicken was under marinated and slightly over cooked, so it came out kind of dry. The quesadilla was good. Probably won't go back there, although the service was excellent.

Great food, this place is probably one of my favorite Mexican restaurants within the area. The food is always fresh and delicious.I have never had a bad experience at this establishment. The varying dishes have been extremely flavorful. I would recommend this resurant o anyone looking for a more "authentic" Mexican cuisine.

This is a great authentic taqueria. The chips are made there and the salsa and queso are great. We ordered ceviche for the table and it was gone in no time. We were seated in this oddly separated section from the large dining area so the servers were a little hard to get ahold of, but once the food finally came out it was amazing. I ordered a la carte tostadas with roasted pork and it was great. The only thing I didn't eat was the fried tortilla because my fork couldn't break it apart very easily, but this place had some fantastic food.

This is my favorite Mexican place EVER. Been coming here since they were in New Garden. Their shrimp cocktail simply can not be beat. (If you've never had Mexican shrimp cocktail, try theirs. It's the best!) Their tostadas are also really good and of course everything is fresh.

Went to Delaware today for a Craig's list buy and we asked the local for a Mexican recommendation.... She suggested this place. Bravo Craig's list participant...Bravo. The sangria was off the wall great and the food (we ordered a bunch of ala carte items.). All were fantastic beyond compare. We will travel to this place at least once a month for date night.

I've been going to this establishment for years. This is a very good traditional Mexican restaurant. You won't find a better Mexican food restaurant in this area. Prices are very reasonable. They do have happy hour with drink and food specials on weekdays.

I love their burritos here! It's my favorite dish of theirs, and very affordable. The other dishes are great too. The lava rock bowl dish is really neat, though not something that I need to get every time. Prices are reasonable. Service is ok (sometimes faster than others... depends on how many tables your waiter/ress has at once). I like the draft modelo especial! Their margaritas are good too. They do have a nice kids menu (always a plus!).

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in the area. The staff is pleasant and the food is excellent. Typically, the restaurant is pretty full but things move quickly and you can either get a table, high top table, or sit at the bar and the tables turn quick so you don't have to wait long. Highly recommend trying this place out, you'll become a regular.

My new favorite area mexican restaurant. I typically order the shrimp molcajete (the red hotter version). If you enjoy a little spice and want an alternative to tacos/fajitas, this is a fantastic choice. They also have a terrific seafood stew to which you can order extra crab. While I'm waiting for my food and between sips of the very well done margaritas, I walk over to the side door and buy my weekly power ball ticket and a few scratchers. They guy who sells them has seen and done a lot and I enjoy catching up with him before walking the 15 feet back to my bar seat to scratch my tickets and eat my meal. There is a good local contingent who seem permanent fixtures which makes for a nice family (Cheers-like) atmosphere. On a side note, one of my good friends swears by their downstairs banquet facilities. While it seems perpetually decorated for a quinceanera, he rented it for his rehearsal dinner and said they did a tremendous job with open bar for an astoundingly low amount of money.

I've been here a few times already and keep coming back for the steak fajitas and Sangrias which are the best! Yesterday we went here for lunch to celebrate my sister's birthday. The four of us ordered the steak fajitas because they are excellent- big, long, thick, tender and juicy strips of steak with onions, green pepper and tomatoes. And just one of their large Sangria's is plenty! Somehow the waitress clued in on my sister's birthday without even having been told and she brought out a Sombrero and another nice surprise! She even took a group photo for us! We will definitely return again and again. We are true fans of this place!

First, for the second time I am noting for all that this restaurant is NOT CLOSED. They MOVED a year ago to 9173 Gap Newport Pike in Avondale PA (just outside Kennett Square). Now, on with the show. Dearest Hubby, Faithful Dining Companion, two kids and one Other headed out there to bravely give it another go as we were visiting nearby Longwood Gardens and we were hungry. I'm glad we went back. The "new" restaurant location, formerly an Italian restaurant, still mostly evokes Italy, with some more 'Mexican" art. It is not tacky though and mostly quite lovely. We were seated at a round table, very comfortable with good room for dishes and such. Our waiter greeted us promptly with a basket of chips and bowls of medium red salsa and verde spicy salsa. Darling Hubby the Arizonan was in heaven. Now, for whatever reason, the hostess brought us six adult menus. We assumed from this that either the kids menu was embedded in the larger menu or there were no special kids dishes. The waiter didn't disclose to us that there was a kids menu indeed until we were ordering. *sigh*. Anyhow, we ordered undeterred by this. Having had one super-slow experience, we ordered a Nachos Supreme to ward off hunger complaints from the 5 and 9 year olds. They were excellent, nice balance of chips, tons of toppings, positively yummy. Entrees: Tampiqueña a la Parrilla - outstanding. Pollo Campesino - outstanding. Mango salad with this was particularly yummy, and shrimps were fantastic. Shredded Pork Enchiladas - excellent, ordered with the extra kick of verde sauce. Flautas Pollo - the one and only flop. Bland, tasteless, and curiously dry. Flautas vary quite a bit by region, in this case though I don't think it was a regional thing. Really, they need to rethink this dish adding something like grilled onion or cheese with the chicken. I am not bothering reviewing the kids' dishes. One got tacos, one got quesadillas. They were eaten, kids were happy. Most importantly, the food arrived promptly, hot, and well prepared. We finished up with one deep fried ice cream - mmmmmmmmmmm and two kids' ice creams which they loved. Service in general was prompt, attentive and friendly. We're relieved & pleased with our second visit, and will be sure to make a trip out there again!

I use to go to the Kennett location (the original) and it was the best food and now they moved closer to hockessin and the food is still amazing ! Great customer service always clean !! If you want a taste if authentic Mexican food this is the place to go it's so yummy!! Try the chicken tamales and their rice is delicious!!!! A+++

Went here for the first time Saturday night. It was very crowded, which is always a good sign. Surprisingly we were seated right away. The downside was it took over 10 minutes for our server to arrive. We placed our drink order, and the margaritas took another 10 minutes. I will give a little here since it was really crowded. I had the beef enchiladas, which were very tasty. Unfortunately they were dry, so I had to add sour cream to make them more enjoyable. I also had a side beef taco, which was lukewarm at best when it arrived. It was packed with meat though, and was actually hard to roll up and eat. One of my friends had the fish tacos and said they were excellent. Another had the steak fajitas and said they were good as well. I would like to come again when it isn't so crowded, as I think the food and service would be a little better. The prices were not bad as well. I had 2 margaritas, the beef enchiladas, and 1 side beef taco. My bill was $34.00. It is definitely worth a return visit.

Went here on Cinco de Mayo and had friendly service and all of our food was delicious. We ordered off of the a la carte menu and both got a couple tacos. They were great. Our server even recommend how to get them prepared. They also give you salsa and chips while you wait and both of the salsas were delicious. I'll definitely be back.

House margaritas are decent. The food is excellent. Try a molcajete. I always enjoy reading negative reviews of restaurants. If you go here on a Friday or Saturday night when it is packed don't expect to get fast service or your food right away. The parking lot fills up and there is a wait because people like going to this place and everyone waits to eat out on the weekend. Most of the time the food comes out very quickly. If you think the food is not authentic, ummmm..... everyone who works at this restaurant speaks Spanish (and very good English) and the owner has owned restaurants in the area for some time and is from Mexico. They tone down the spice for most people but if you want it spicier you can likely request it. I like some heat but some other places make the food so spicy its unbearable. The restaurant is clean and more classy than most Mexican restaurants so if that is what people mean by not authentic then that would be true. The only thing keeping me from giving them 5 stars is the price. For Mexican food the price is a bit high. It isn't overpriced but it isn't cheap either. They have happy hour specials and other specials on Monday and Tuesday.

Consistently good food. I especially like their vegetarian selection. For whatever its worth, I did think that they were modestly overpriced.

Most authentic Mexican food you will find anywhere in the area. Started going to this place when they were back in the shopping center in Kennett Square and it was only BYOB. Fantastic salsa, the burritos are superb, can't say enough about Taqueria Moroleon! Just writing this review makes me want to go back! PS - Check out the new wine/tequila bar hidden in the basement around the corner - very intimate like a secret grotto.

I normally have a pretty good experience here however recently I went and had the worst restaurant experience I've ever had. it was an hour and a half before we were served any food.. when we finally got our food I was informed that they did not have what I had ordered, which I should have been informed of as soon as i placed my order (all I ordered was one chicken tamale, which are prepared beforehand so they would know right away if they are out) they had also forgot a couple of sides and had one of the orders wrong. the manager was very nice & tried to compensate with a $25 gift card but I don't feel it was enough. She explained that she was busy with a party that was going on down stairs and did not know what was going on upstairs, I don't think that this is an excuse and she should have been paying attention to both sides of the restaurant not just the party. I'm sad to say I will never be coming here again.

A good friend (who was a regular at their old location) and I had lunch at the new location of Taqueria Moroleon. While the new "Italian Diner"-feeling location is spacious and clean (full bar with LED color-changing lights and tequila bottles shaped like skulls), it has lost some of it's charm from the "old days". Thankfully, the food is wonderful (at least, we were very pleased). My friend had a specialty burrito (can't remember which one) and I had the Lunch combo #2 with a chicken burrito (instead of beef) and a GREAT corn-tortilla wrapped cheese enchilada. The tortilla tasted super fresh. Service by Suri (Suril?) was great - what a doll! Prices are a bit high - especially for dinner - but for lunch it's a decent value and the portions were huge (both of us took home about 1/2 of our meals). Fresh (slightly greasy) chips and 2 kinds of salsa (not pico) were a refreshing change from the "Old El Paso"-style "ketchup" we are used to getting at El Tapatio. (Sorry El Tapatio - we love you for different reasons).

Love this restaurant!! Absolutely the best Mexican restaurant in the area. This is my go to place whenever I have visitors in town. They have a great house margarita that is reasonably priced. You must get the molcajete if you go! It is in a stone bowl and absolutely delicious. I've ordered at least 5 different entrees and all of them have been great. Seems to be relatively authentic. I also enjoy the atmosphere compared to the other Mexican restaurants in the area that are byob/hole in the wall places.

Popularity still seems to hurt the service consistency...but I need to be fair and update my review, which I like to mainly base on the food itself. The last two dinners at Taqueria Moroleon have been terrific. And my dinner companions all had great meals too... Two house specialities that really impressed me are the Parrillada and the Arrachera Tampiqueña were absolutely delicious. Whatever and however they are marinating that skirt steak will keep me coming back for sure.

dined here many times, Service is always quick and very friendly. When we go, my friends always rave how good their food is, to me its just run of the mill mexican food, nothing memorable nor do you get a real authentic blast from it........once or twice, i got the impression both from visual and taste, that my food was just a re-heat up from lunchtime....the chips and sauces that you get when you arrive are usually the highlight for me with a beer.........very hard working front of the house staff is a +

I keep going back to this place over and over again. The drinks are solid and I've always had a good meal. Sometimes it's a little crowded, loud, an crazy, but if you go at off times, it's nice and quiet. The service is good, just a solid restaurant overall.

Very good Mexican food. I haven't been to other locations in this area, but for the amount of travel throughout the US I do, this place is one of the good ones. Was here with a large group and they handled it quite well. Pitchers of margaritas all around, and they were awesome as well.

Just wow!! Great authentic Mexican food!! Great service!! Keep in mind that the food is made fresh to order so if they are packed (which happens a lot) then it can take some time to get your food but it is definitely worth the wait!! I drive an hour at least once a month to eat here!!!!! P.S. Make reservations if you can and you will not have to wait to get a seat!

  • Cynthia S.

Great for us gringos who only speak "Spanglish", Taqueria Moroleon is as authentic as it gets! Upon seating, you will notice there is a comfortable mix of ethnic backgrounds, the menu is user friendly, and the servers understand you when you are attempting to try your hand at ordering in a foreign toungue. This is the kind of food I get at mi amiga Graciela's house! Truely authentic. Good for kids with a tender palate as well, as they have many dishes where you can add your own heat. I recommend everything! OLE'!

I had dinner there Saturday evening and I was not very impressed. The service was slow and the chicken burrito and chicken tostada I ordered had absolutely no spice to it all, even the hot sauce on the table was weak. The only positive about this place was the chips and salsa.

I have to say we went here on a lark. After living in two states on the border of Mexico we were curious what Delaware Mexican tasted like, and since we spent the day at Longwood Gardens, this place showed up, so went there. This wasn't really real Mexican food or margaritas but I'll give it some points for managing to still make it taste okay. Grant it, it tastes okay because the fajitas were cooked in a vat of grease on an not been washed grill, so you get all the taste of grilled meat and oil, which can make anything taste good. But, considering fajitas are generally a healthy option if you go easy on the tortillas and fatty condiments, this sort of defeated the purpose since it had more grease than a hamburger. Honestly, I'm not sure what the oil was for. Fajitas are supposed to be a grilled meat. This was actually more like a doused in oil stir fry. But the meat wasn't overcooked, so it still tasted pretty good even though it was a gut buster. I'm not sure if there were many other options for margaritas but they were having a special that night and a lot of them, so I ordered their house margarita. Margaritas are not supposed to look like Gatorade. That is the indication of a really cheap mix, thus why they were only charging $4 that night. I would have upgraded to a better option if I could have more easily found it on the menu, but they handed us the drink menu which actually only had tequillas, so by the time I figured the other drinks were at the front of the food menu, I'd already ordered my drink. The best margaritas have no mix and are actually pretty easy and not that expensive to make, so I'm not sure why any Mexican restaurant would opt to go the super cheap way when a good margarita will pull people in the door to the point of you have an hour waiting list every night. The good place in California have house margaritas for $5-$7, and same in Texas, and those places are always packed. Mexican food and margaritas and not that hard to make, though, I can imagine people in the PA and DE area don't have that much access to really good Mexican food and so have a harder time figuring out how to make it. Another thing, I really hate going places where my server looks depressed. Every single place we went in DE except this one, the food was really delicious and the servers and staff were extremely friendly. When I'm paying to have a dining experience I don't want to know about your problems or the fact you have them, or are having a bad day. That is not customer service. Even the maid at the hotel who was cleaning floors every day when we passed was super friendly and we were practically high-fiving her by the end of our trip. Those are the little things that make me want to go back to a place and give them my money and my business. I, like most people have served food in my life, and even if I was distracted or irritable I was always nice. It makes a big difference.

I am always looking for a good mexican restaurant and was referred to this place by a mexican friend of mine. The first visit I was with a party of 7. We made reservations because we heard it could get really busy on the weekends (this happened to be a friday night). When we arrived, we still had to wait for about 10 minutes until we were seated. One of us was already at the bar enjoying a house margarita. (Everyone at the bar seemed to have ordered one for themselves). When we sat down initially, there were four of us. The waitress came over and started taking our order. We told her what we wanted to drink and also told her that we still had a few people coming. And let the waiting begin..... within the next five minutes the rest of our table arrived. We waited a good 20 minutes until one of us asked if the waitress who took the drink order happened to know who our waitress was. To this, she became agitated and snapped that she would be right with us. Still waiting...by the time she got to our table, I along with the original four, were out of our drinks. She took the rest of the party's drink order but did not ask if we wanted a refill. When she came back (finally) with their drinks, my friend who was sitting next to me asked for a sprite refill--and actually got an eyeroll. Before I could ask for more water, the waitress was gone again. Still waiting....and when I mean that she was not attentive to us, it's not like she was MIA---she was stopping at every other table but ours. It was obvious and annoying. So, when she did take our food order: one of us asked for more salsa with their meal. The waitress seemed appalled by this question and rudely asked, "well, what kind of salsa?!" I have never had a waitress be so unwilling to waitress. She never welcomed us to the restaurant, told us her name, checked on us, (god forbid I ask for more water!) She didn't tell us to have a good night, nothing! Needless to say, I am pissed I left such a tip--but I can't help it. In the midst of our waitress' horribleness, the food was excellent!!! I had chicken taquitos that were delicious! However, one of us ordered steak tacos that came out like hamburger meat--not what she was expecting & she entertained us the rest of the night on why she wouldn't touch it. Anyway, I had a craving for those taquitos so I took a friend back for lunch. We sat at the bar and had the sweetest girl taking care of us. She was such a delight! All smiles and couldn't do enough to make sure we were having a good time. My friend had a chimichanga and burrito--and he ate the entire plate! Said it was the best mexican food he had in a long time. Went back a third time, this time during the week (tues night) and again sat at the bar. And yet again, a wonderful server. I had to try the margaritas this time and had the 2nd one up from the house (can't remember the name) and it was to die for! All in all, my first experience was terrible and had the food not been so good I would not have come back. I am the type of person that if you don't acknowledge me, I will leave. I am thrilled I gave this place a second chance, and if I had any advice--SIT AT THE BAR!

I have been there several times. The food was ok, not great, but the service has always been horrible. We once waited thirty minutes just for our check. I ordered on the phone for pickup tonight, and was quoted a price. I called back to add something, and was told that my initial order was $2 more expensive, even though their website said the initial amount. I was hung up on twice, and when I finally got a manager she said the online menu was wrong, and I would have to pay the more expensive amount. I canceled my order, and she didn't even apologize. I have never complained online about a restaurant, but this one really ticks me off.

Excellent Mexican food. We did an early lunch during the week and were the only customers in the restaurant for a while. We had no problem getting excellent service. I had the verde enchiladas with beef and they were great. The salsa served with the chips is not mild.

I've been there several times for both lunch and diner. The food is fantastic, the service is friendly. Even when it's packed the servicve is good. If you're the leftover type, you'll probably take some home. I will continue to go back. note: this is at 9173 Newport Gap Pike, just at the DE/PA state line

The drinks were pretty good. The food was mediocre in taste, but the portions were big.

Have been here on several occasions and it is always excellent! Their speciality is a Mexican stew in a lava rock bowl (molca heta-probably butchered the spelling). I highly recommend this dish if you are sick of eating burritos and fajitas. Salsa is excellent and the service is the best. Very nice place!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
