This place replaced "What's the Scoop," and frankly, it's a change for the better. Extremely friendly staff, eager to take care of whatever you'd like. They're also extremely knowledgeable of the products they sell, which is something I really never expected/cared about from an ice cream place, but it's a nice perk! The selection is simply incredible. New flavors of gelato/sorbet/ice cream are constantly coming in, each one getting better than the flavor it replaced. They also let you try any flavor you want! As if that weren't enough, they have fresh baked goods, from Ricotta-Cookies, to Peanut-Butter and Jelly cupcakes. They all know who I am there, as I'm the guy who infamously devours their cheesecake several times a month (...week). Yeah, it's that good. They've also got a wide variety of tea, coffee, imported carbonated beverages, frozen cakes and home-made popsicles, and just about everything else you could ever want. On top of all this, it's all reasonably priced! This place is a gem. It's got a 1950's, 'Happy Days' sort of feel about the place, which also sets it apart from other dessert shops in the area. It's an awesome place for a date, hanging out, or simply killing some time. They've also got free wi-fi, two large flat-screen television sets (a great place to watch a Phillies game!), couches, as well as outdoor patio seating. Furthermore, they are basically open all day and night, so you don't have to worry about the possibility of it being closed. Honestly, you can't beat this place. I'll probably head over there after dinner tonight.

Omg this is the best place in Philly. The gelato is fresh homemade and ITALIAN. The cakes are very good and are fresh baked daily. Not only will it be good but will be better then the giant ice cream cakes across the street. Make sure you try the pizza shop next store.

Great selection of gelato. Delicious deserts like Ricotta cookies. Awesome selection of coffee. My only complaint is that I don't live closer..

If you get the hankering for something sweet, this is the place to be. Not a big gelatto fan however, the cakes, pies and cookies are the best. They sale items single serve so you get to sample what you like without breaking the bank. Then if you really like a certain cake and/or pie after tasting a slice, you can order a whole cake to share with others, you just have to give a couple days notice when placing whole cake or pie orders. The prices are great, product and quality the best and to top it off the place is very clean. Also, the staff and owner are very nice and make you feel very welcome. Im glad this place is here and hope they stick around for awhile. Try them out, you wont be disappointed.

Cocco's Gelateria sells great gelato at a lower price than most other gelaterias I have visited. They have over a dozen flavors of gelato and sorbets to choose from. They also have a ton of baked goods (I had my eyes on the Monkey Bread) as well as Mexican Coke in glass bottles. The place has a great interior to match their great products. I would've given this place 4 or 5 stars except for one fatal flaw: they serve the gelato in thick plastic cups that are not meant for one-time use. It seems like a waste of money for them and is terrible for th environment. The cups don't even look that nice , so I don't know why they feel the need to use them. Even eat-in customers cannot return the cups to be reused and are forced to throw them on the trash (didn't notice any recycling containers). They hand these cups out knowing they will go into the trash as soon as the person is done and then end up in a landfill. Gelato and baked goods are already not the most healthy foods; you don't need to compound it by being unhealthy for the environment as well! I would like to see them begin to use reusable cups for eat-in customers and environmentally-friendly disposable cups for take out. It would reduce their bills, anyway, so why not do it?

One of my face places on Earth! I am a local since childhood and I love to go there and have cappuccino and delicious gelato with my gfs...the staff are always so kind and curteous, love the various flavors of gelato they have to offer , pastries and drinks...also love the fact that you can place big orders for holidays and/or parties. I always get dessert to bring to my family Thanksgiving dinner or New Years Day lunch and people LOVE. They change the flavors often to keep it interesting. Its nice to have something amazing in the location since What's the Scoop is no longer. Doesn't hurt that Coccos Pizza is the same Co, so you can go for dinner first and go right next door for dessert. Great lil spot!

Don't know why it has taken me so long to review this place, but here I am. This place is the bomb! I'm not a "dessert person" but I could come here everyday. It's that good. The various kids of frozen desserts are the best. Fresh. Everything! Awesome flavors you don't see anywhere else. The place is also super clean. You could eat off the floors if your food falls on it. They keep it that clean. The customer service is fabulous. I take my kids here, and of course they want to sample a bunch of stuff. No matter when I go, how busy they are, or who is working, they accomodate with a smile. Always friendly. I love it, my wife loves it, and my kids love this place. You will too. Prices very reasonable, too!

Winter is not the time that you think of gelato but we were in the mood and had yet to try this place. I remember when this was What's the Scoop and it was filled with families and not the best ice cream. It closed and this building became part of the Cocco's empire. No pizza here just desserts and coffee. You have your choice of gelato, sorbetto, and ice cream. In addition you have cups and cones, sundaes and milkshakes to choose from. The have cakes by the slice, cookies and frozen cakes too. They have coffee, flavored coffee, espresso and cappuccino and Toroni syrups. You can eat in, take out, or eat in the courtyard between the ice cream shop and the pizza store when the weather is good. Bottom line, you have lots if choices. Today both of us had a cappuccino and two scoops of the frozen treats. The cappuccino was good but needed a bit more foam and less milk. The gelatoes we selected were Toroni (nougat) and pomegranate and the sorbettos were salted caramel and dark chocolate. The nougat gelato was sweet but the nougat taste was very subtle. The pomegranate was tart and sweet and definitely home made as we found a pomegranate seed in there. The sorbettos were creamy and flavorful. Total check: $13. The pictures already posted of the interior are accurate. There are plenty of seats at tables, a counter, and black leather sofas, plus the exterior seating.

A nice little ice cream/dessert shop next to Cocco's Pizza. There's a fair selection of homemade gelato and it's OK, but honestly you can find much better downtown. They have a wide variety of other desserts as well, including ice cream, cakes, cookies, etc. Oh, and coffee! Who doesn't love coffee with dessert? The decor is cute with ice cream parlour wire-back chairs, tables and a comfy couch to cuddle up on while you eat your sweet treat. It's nice to have a convenient place to satisfy your sweet tooth instead of just grabbing a pint of ice cream at Wawa.

Absolutely amazing! The employees know you by name and are always laughing and smiling. They are extremely professional and have the best attitudes! I always get the same couple of things but are always so delicious! My husband likes to get something different every few times and never has a complaint.

The dark chocolate sorbetto is an absolute miracle. I don't know how something so creamy can possibly be dairy-free. It is, hands-down, the best dark chocolate sorbet I've ever had. Top it with their to-die-for peanut butter sauce and, well, deliciousness overload. I've also had the gelato and it's always really good, the hubs particularly likes the chocolate hazelnut gelato. The cookies are also very good, especially the ricotta cookies. And the employees are all so friendly! I was initially sad when What's the Scoop left, but I really love this place.

My girlfriend and I have lived by this place for a while and had never gone. We finally went and it exceeded expectations. The portions were large and not overly expensive. I had the chocolate oreo and it was excellent. There is also outside seating. Excellent

This place was very good. The staff was very friendly and over all the place is very cute. The Gelato is very favor full and displayed beautiful in the cases when you walk in. I was only here one other time and the owner remember me and asked how I was doing. So over all I gave them a five star review. The place is very, clean and it looks like an old fashion ice cream shop which is hard to, find in philly. Thank u very, much for.the wonderful experience.

They have selection of gelato, sorbet, and ice cream. Gelato was very good and decently priced. They gave bigger scoops than I expected. Nice seating outside as well.

I'll start by saying that I wasn't a huge fan of the original What's The Scoop that was in here before. It's not that they were bad. Far from it. I just always thought there were better ice cream options. I have always been a Brusster's man, but the Brusster's around me have all gone away. So with a few less really good ice cream options locally open to me, I will welcome Cocco's Gelateria's presence with open arms. I tried them out yesterday for the first time. It was about 6pm on a Friday, and I picked up two milkshakes for the wife and I. Can't say I ever had a milkshake out of gelato, so this would be a first. The server behind the counter had her customer service skills down pat, offering me tastes of the flavors as a sample, and making combination recommendations. Very nice. I went with the chocolate hazelnut for the wife, and put together an chocolate and banana combo shake for me, both thick. When I got home with the shakes, the wife declared hers phenomenal. I must say that making a thick milkshake with gelato gives it quite the creamy texture. I had no problem polishing off mine. Flavor wise was it the best gelato I ever had? Well, no. But it was high up on the flavor scale. I will say that after tasting my wife's shake, I actually enjoyed hers more than my choice. Just more of a testament to the chocolate hazelnut gelato flavor itself. I'll probably go for that next time. Cocco's earned a return trip from me in the future. I'll concur with a previous review and say that the baked goods looked incredible. Though I did not partake, the snickerdoodles they had there were calling my name. Next time, snickerdoodles... next time!

Good, fun little ice cream (or "gelato") shop. They have all the standard flavors, plus new & different flavors all the time. Everytime I stop in, it seems they have some new flavor they're trying out. Some are good, some......not so good. But hey, why not give different new flavors a try? The quality is pretty good, not exactly gourmet, but very creamy, with good flavor, and very fresh. Prices are reasonable. Good place for a date.....

Stopped there yesterday for the first time and impressed by the excellent display of sweet stuff! I tried the amaretto gelato and it was amazing! I cannot believe that I haven't been there before as I live really close. I recently went to Italy and I was happy to find a local gelataria with such wonderful selections. The decor was pretty and the place was spotless. Service was quick. It's a great place for a date or to meet up with friends to partake in something sweet. I highly recommend this place!
