As this was just a quick walk from the restaurant I was staying at, I thought I would give it a try. I wasn't sure what I was hungry for, but I thought I would eat at this Jack In A Box as all of the Jacks in the Chicago, IL area have disappeared. This particular restaurant does not the serve the greasy deep fried Super Tacos that I remember from my youth. However, they seemed to have come up with some other interesting items such as the Pita Snacks and the Teriyaki Bowls. As I was not feeling extremely adventurous, I thought I would try the Sour Dough Steak and Cheese Sandwich and fries. The upside is that the food comes hot and freshly prepared. The fries were nice and hot and appears to be made from real potatoes, not reconstituted mashed potatoes like Mickey D's. The sandwich likewise was hot and freshly prepared. The only negative I can state about my meal was that there really was too much cheese in my sandwich. Apparently they need a lot of cheese to keep the steak strips together and as a result, the sandwich was too rich and gooey for my taste. After I finished my meal I kind of felt like I ate a pound of lard. However, if you are a cheese freak, you'll love it. Overall the place is pleasant and the food is good. But it is fast food and it is not some place I would eat everyday

This place was a total disaster. I wanted to try their new Waffle Breakfast Sandwich. It was about 1 PM but they proudly advertise that all items are available all day long. I walked in and no one was at the counter. I waited and waited and more people came in and no one waited on any of us. Finally, we saw a fellow in uniform emptying trash containers in the dining room. We implored him to find us some help. He took off his vinyl gloves and went behind the counter and tried to take my order. I told him what I wanted and he said, "we don't have that." What??????? I asked, again. And, again, he said the same thing! I explained to him that the TV ads said that all menu items were available all day long. He looked at me with no real interest or expression that indicated he had any feelings at all and said, "we ran out!" Well, for cripes sake, why didn't he say so to begin with. This was a total waste of about 15 minutes! This place is understaffed, staff is ill trained and unfeeling toward their customers. Avoid this place like the plague!!!! Jim

I got really sick eating here(food poisoning) and it wasn't the first time.I got sick at a different Jack in the box in Crescent City California in 2001 which has been closed twice now due too people getting sick from the food.I forgot about the first time I had got sick, since it had been so long and wanted some of the monster tacos they sell.It was a solid reminder of why I don't eat here or at any of the Jack in the box restaurants any more.

Is there a negative star rating I can give? If so it would apply. Decided to take wifie here as shes never been and it was just off I-5 on our way--- wrong move! Many small issues that just add up to one big, hot, nasty mess. Mind you, Ive never complained bout fast food as they have there own handicaps to allow for, so this is a first for me! Regardless, this place is hands down the worst fast food experience I've ever had. Apparently these guys decide to change the menu item from what you order it to whatever they have in stock n don't bother to tell you. Like the bacon cheddar potato wedges?- order them n you get fries w cheez whiz n 4 pieces of bacon crumbs! If you like ur jalapeno Poppers still frozen and cheese unmelted i say give em a shot here... Call me picky but i prefer to have hot food where the cheese is melted not solid! Get ur kid a cheeseburger kids meal n Then they charge a different Cost than what's posted on the menu. Try their restrooms n u might prefer to piss yourself than set foot in their filthy, fly infested poor excuse for a FAST FOOD restaurant. Don't bother try making any suggestions to management here as you will only get excuses and lack of responsibility coupled with a sense of screw you. These guys have no idea what customer service or fast food is about. Keep Rollin past this hell hole

Stopped in to use the restroom and the women's restroom conditions were appalling. One stall of two did not even have a toilet dispenser much less toilet paper. This stall also possessed a seat and floor covered in urine and it's smell. A sign in the restroom says they check it every hour. I think someone is lying. Based on the condition I would not recommend eating here either.

Your typical Jack in the Box. What makes this place interesting is that this seems to be the standard "kid swap" place for a parent dropping off the kid so the other parent can get their weekend visits. Just sit in the parking lot for about 30 mins or so and you'll see about 3 or 4 swaps...LOL.
