I love this little place, it's a great little place to run in and grab something fast that's not fast food though if you know what I mean. The tacos are awesome and the fish and chips are amazing, I have lunch here several times while at a week long art show and was never disappointed.

Very good chili verde. Prices are reasonable. They don't give you chips so if you buy guacamole you then better buy some chips. Good neighborhood hole in the wall type of place

  • Rick W.

Great food, great prices huge portions. If you leave here hungry then you went to the wrong place. We are from LA and do a lot of travelling and I have to say this is one of my favorite hole in the wall places. We have already eaten here twice and have only been here a week. Eat here, you won't regret it.

Ok I will say the flavor of my Carne Asada taco was good but it was so fatty I could not even eat it. My corn tortilla was hard and fell apart when it tried to fold it. My husband had a chicken Colorado special there was nothing even remotely good about the Colorado sauce Sorry oregon I don't think you know what good Mexican food is.

Filling and good . The bean and cheese burrito is a deal $3.50 The beef burrito has great flavor. The nachos are delicious with shredded beef. Service is quick and efficient. Lots of seating with big windows. That let in lots of light. Each table has to sauces in squeeze bottles The orange sauce is smokey and good Great place to visit after the Lewis and Clark statue

I love this place! I am here at least once a week. They're fast, cheap, and delicious. I will never give them up!!

First of all it is nice that they are vegan friendly.. which is cool. They just don't try very hard. The beet tacos i got were rather hilarious and just piled with steamed beets. There was no way to eat them like tacos, fork and knife only. Not the most exciting thing Ive ever had but not bad. I would not get the beet tacos again though. LOL. Maybe just rice and beans next time.

My boyfriend and I both ordered the Carne Asada burrito, the flavor was awesome! The size was big and filling but not insanely large. The meat itself was kind of chewy. They don't wrap the burrito how you would expect so it quickly falls apart and becomes a yummy mess of food. Would recommend and will come again!

Quality was extremely high, generous portions, great staff, and great taste. Excellent stop on the go!

  • Mark S.

Open weekdays only 11am to 5pm, cash only, limited seating, ok size menu, friendly staff. Got the large nachos with beef, black beans. Shredded beef had a good seasoning. The order was to go so that's why in my picture it is in that container. I didn't see if they had jalapenos as an option, if they did that would've been perfect on these nachos. They may not be the best Mexican food in Seaside but they are not the worst either in my opinion.

  • Katie R.

Spicy vegetable burrito was amazing!!! As was the guac, the salsa and the carne asada! This SoCal girl is happy!

Hadn't been in for a couple of years, still a fabulous taco stand. Prices are reasonable, and the food is great. I eat at The Stand as often as possible, daily for a late lunch is really wonderful. I travel and eat Mexican as much as I can, this is my favorite tacoria.

Just stopped here after visiting the seaside beach. We found the stand in yelp and are very glad we did. Looking at the outside we certainly would have driven right bye the place. WE ARE GLAD WE LISTENED TO THE YELP REVIEWS. You order at the counter and the staff brings you the food. I had three recession tacos- 2 beef and 1 chicken. The flavor was spectacular! I also ordered chips and salsa. The salsa is obviously home made and very fresh. My significant other had a tostada salad and she was equally impressed with the freshness and taste. While waiting on our food another patron asked how we found the place and I mentioned we used yelp. He stated that the stand is a local hidden secret and my reply was not any more. This is a must stop place for any foodie wanting simple yummy cheap eats. I highly recommend the salsa.

Wish I could give this place a couple extra, well deserved stars. First off, its conveniently located, close to our hotel, in a cute little building on the corner of 1st and Holladay. Walking in its clean and inviting. In the midst of our ordering we noticed the CASH or CHECK ONLY sign and panicked. We rushed to find some cash and ended up $3 bucks short. The woman taking our order told us not to worry and to just bring it in next time. Which we will be coming back, for sure. We ordered the #6, carne asada taco and pork taco, and fish tacos for the 3 of us. All delicious, authentic and for a great price. Will be most definitely coming back for more!

  • Katinka R.

We came based on reviews. Good food, and you can order a la cart, which is nice for those of us who don't want a giant portion of beans and rice. I the beef recession taco and a vegetarian tamale. The taco was great, the tamale was just okay. My daughter loved her nachos. My husband ordered the spicy vegetarian burrito and didn't care for it. He thought it was very bland.

  • John E.

This is the one place in Seaside not to miss. Remember, they only take cash. We had a couple of Carne Asada Tacos. The meat was seasoned just right and got that bomb char. The tortilla is just a tad crisp. Wow it was great. Really hit the spot.

This place is so good that (a) it's hard to describe and (b) I almost don't want to let you in on the secret. Hard to describe--because by describing The Stand (which has nothing to do with the Stephen King novel, darn it) I might not make this even sound like a Mexican restaurant. You know what you grew up with? Lots of orange colored rice and a pool of beige refried beans with Monterey Jack cheese oozing over the top, with your gooey enchilada in between? The Stand has nothing like that...instead your quesadilla might be stuffed with big chucks of tender-crisp cooked zucchini and celery along with your carnitas, and your combination plate will come with black or pinto beans glistening in their goodness with bright red salsa and green lettuce as well as whatever you have ordered on your plate. The flavors are truly outstanding, and it's hard to believe that they can crank all this out so quickly and so fresh with minimal staff. Everyone seems like they are running around at top speed, and it seems like they would want to cheat by keeping a big vat of pre-cooked soggy stuff to throw on the plates, yet everything that we order still seems like they whipped it up at the moment you order. We found The Stand one holiday season looking for tamales for Christmas morning breakfast and The Stand's tamales did not disappoint (tough act to follow as back home in Cali I'd get the tamales that Maria Elena sold door-to-door at Christmastime). Be patient waiting in line--the people there really are going flat-out. Tip generously, they earn it (and I think people cheap out because the place looks dicey and fast-foodish, I think people are tipping for ambience not food and service, which is a shame). Best Mexican food I've found between Portland and the Pacific.

  • Alex M.

Got my Mexican food craving satisfied here. Chicken mole special was good and fresh. We also enjoyed carne asada tacos. Homemade salsa delicious. Only negative was the terrible nachos--but overall would go back.

    (3)
  • Marci M.

Absolutely amazing! Was recommended by a local and was not disappointed. Friendly staff and super fast service. I can't wait to come back to Seaside to try it again.

If it wasn't for the atmosphere this would be a 5 star for the food. I'm finding out more and more and like a good book, a restaurant should not be judged by its cover. It doesn't look like much, on the outside or the inside. It's a "fast food" style set up, order and pay first. We came because the reviews were so good. We were not disappointed in the food! I'm always expecting quality Mexican food to come from very talented Latinos, to my surprise I didn't see any south of the border workers there. So that makes it even more impressive that Americans can achieve the quality of flavors and authenticity of Mexican food in this place. It was incredible! So good that as soon as I started to eat I forgot to stop and take a picture!! Portions are Great sized, and prices are perfect! We got carne Asada plate with black beans. Loaded with roasted veggies (mushrooms, zucchini, onions and red peppers) the meat was cooked perfectly and so flavorful! I am dreaming about that flavor. Others in my group had pork with marinated cabbage plate, and bean and cheese burrito. Everyone loved what they ordered. We were not disappointed. We almost judged it by the looks, we are so glad we didn't! By the way it's not dirty, just doesn't look like much. Basic. I also will add that there are some very awesome pictures on the wall of Mexican parades and really colorful costumes and stuff that I did enjoy looking at. Great place! Super friendly staff! :)

I love this place. With they were open on weekends but very good food. There Carne Asado is good on everything

    (4)
  • Bruce K.

HMMMM, WOW, DELICIOUS! I'm from LA, visit Palm Springs often, and was raised on home cooked Mexican food. Put simply, this is as good and fresh as it gets. I like to think I know Carne Asada but this is a game changer. Chunks of delicious steak, perfectly seasoned and grilled. My daughter had a grilled vegetable quesedilla (hey, I said I know the food not that I could spell it) which she loved. The pork & cabbage taco is also fantastic. Home made salsa topped the cake.

    (4)
  • Jen J.

Amazing, fresh, fast, and huge portions! You won't be sorry for going here! The prices are great. I had the 1/2 & 1/2 burrito it was so full I had to use a knife & fork. Cash only but 2 of us got out for under $20

    (5)
  • Yunkyung C.

Really good and cheap Mexican food but you have to go early, they close at 5pm. We ordered a burrito, quesadillas, a couple tacos, which are enormous by the way, and some nachos and everything was food and fresh and flavorful. They are generous with the salsa and pico de gallo. The inly thing that was missing was pickled jalapeños. I would definitely go back again!

    (4)
  • Jamie F.

Two words: Recession Taco. I ate here for the first time two years ago and have thought about these darn tasty tacos once a week since. Simple (pork, chicken or beef with cilantro and onion on fresh, homemade tortilla with side of salsa) and amazing. I'm sure other things are delicious but why mess with perfection?

    (5)
  • Mara C.

It wasn't bad food at all, but it wasn't spectacular either, so I cannot give it "Yay, I'm a fan!" Not bad!

    (3)
  • Don G.

A big surprise in terms of food quality and portion in this coastal community. Great flavors and more than enough to request a doggie bag for the road. Wished we'd discovered it sooner!

    (5)
  • Jessica R.

Amazing!! We read the reviews and visited while here in Seaside. We got the carne asada tacos and nachos. The meat is grilled and tasty, the corn chips were small, round and unique. The food was so very good, and priced well. We will definitely return!

    (4)
  • Nick B.

Horrible, overpriced Mexican food with refried beans that smell like week-old BO. If you have never had authentic Mexican food, then you'd probably think this place is the best. If you have, then save yourself the gross out and look elsewhere. Plus, they only accept cash or checks! No plastic!

    (1)
  • Tila M.

The customer service sucked. Maybe the guy was having a bad day, but it wasn't good. The burrito came out and wasn't wrapped well at all, I couldn't eat it like a burrito if I tried. The ingredients were not even at all, I had to open it up and re do it. And it was more expensive then yelp led me to believe. The taste was generic. Won't be coming back.

    (1)
  • ChefRD M.

Don't yelp much anymore... But felt compelled after my pork verde burrito. So YUM! Ok ... Back to my food.

    (5)
  • Doc L.

Carne Asada burritos are the best...actually more like a giant taco but who cares? So tasty. Always look forward to the stand after surfing. I'm from San Diego and while not 100% authentic Mexican...I highly recommend it.

    (5)
  • Brigitt H.

So stinking good! Had the carne asada burrito, which was massive! More like a giant taco, though, it fell apart quickly. But still delicious. All the salsas had great flavor, and just the right amount of heat. It was our first time here, but we can see why it is so popular!

    (5)
  • Bunny A.

Not the best Mexican food. Too much chili powder. Cheap concession stand chips but they are $4 for a bowl.

    (1)
  • Ashley M.

We were looking for a local Mexican place to get lunch to go and I'm glad I Yelp'ed this place! The staff is very friendly! I ordered a burrito and it was AMAZING! The food is very fresh! I will defiantly be back here next time I am in town!

  • Skip S.

Went to the Stand today expecting the best Mexican food this side of the Rio Grande and instead I got the best Mexican food this side of the Rio Grande......FOR FREE!!!! It was a customer appreciation day for every single person who came in the door today totally unannounced "today's special 100% off", it was funny watching the customers trying to mentally deal with the fact that this family just wasn't going to take money from anyone today, precious really. Great family, Amazing food!!!!! I'll gladly make up for it in the tip jar next week but today our money was no good.....fantastic!!

    (5)
  • Anna Z.

Amazing little hidden gem. The carne asada tacos were amazing and I would highly recommend the cheese nachos.

    (5)
  • Jonathan D.

I had heard about this place the last time I was in Seaside, but due to the limited hours did not have a chance to try it. This time I made an effort to grab a meal here. While the food was good, I think my expectations were too high based on the reviews I read here. It was not amazing and I was not blown away, it wasn't even the best Mexican food I had while in seaside (the place across the street was much better). The carne asada was under seasoned, the rice over-cooked, although the salsa was very good. Overall it was an ok meal, but nothing like what some of the other reviews here claim it to be.

    (3)
  • Jeannie O.

This place ROCKS!!!! Best food I've had in a long time. I had the bean, cheese, rice burrito and it was phenomenal! Who knew a bean burrito could taste so the good? And the accompanying pico de gallo was incredibly flavorable. Love love love!

    (5)
  • Otis D.

Blah, blah, blah...lived in SoCal...blah, blah..Mexican food in Cascadia..blah...blah...blah. The place is legit. I was a little put off at first at the price of a taco but what I got was at least double the meat of your average taqueria in a single taco. In fact, at lunch one would have been fine and I was pretty full after two. They have really well seasoned carnitas and carne asada and tasty salsas. Good option for cheap lunch in Seaside.

    (4)
  • Riley R.

This is the kind of taco shop where they set the plates down in front of you and everybody is excitedly surprised. Super fresh tasting/looking ingredients and a plate that fills you up. I got the two taco plate with carne asada and pork. Grilled onions and zucchini are special touches that made it worth my time to sit down and write a review. Tables outside for when there's sunshine.... Totally worth walking off the main restaraunt strip in this tourist town and grabbing lunch there.

    (4)
  • Mark Q.

Just popped in for a snack, but I was pleasantly surprised. A little spendy for a taco shop, but the carne Asada was great. My little one devoured a bean and cheese burrito. The salsas and the pico de galla were really tasty and were great for a little zest. I was really looking for a fish taco at a beachside joint, but I was happy with what I got.

    (4)
  • Molly M.

Delicious for a good price. We tried the carne asada, pork, tortilla soup, and a Chile relleno. Everything was well seasoned, though we found the soup a little too spicy. The flavor combinations tasted unique, not your usual tex-mex, served in good portions. Highly recommended.

    (5)
  • Kim D.

If you've ever had good mexican food you would know this place isn't that great...ordered the pork tamale & carnitas taco plate with chips. Carnitas had hard chunks in it had to take half of it out, chips were store bought. They didn't even have Horchata! Only good part was the salsa! :(

    (2)
  • Ella M.

This place has great service, but usually closed on weekends:( It was open this Saturday though. I loved the food, tacos, and burritos. Everything was pretty much prices well. I would recommend this place for future vacations

We stopped in early September when passing through town. I had a special that was grilled fresh vegis and pork on a tortilla.. this was one of the best things I have ever eaten in my life! I will always return to this little place when in Seaside! I only hope they have that grilled vegi dish when I return. YUM!

    (4)
  • Sean W.

We went here after almost going to one of the tourist traps just down the street. My wife and I each had a tostada and the kids had a burrito and enchiladas. The carne asada on my tostada was awesome and the carnitas on my wife's was great too. The salsa was also spot on. If I lived near this place, it would be a twice a week minimum for me and the family! Great food!

    (5)
  • Ellen M.

Great inexpensive food. A good quick lunch or dinner and friendly service too

    (4)
  • Ann M.

Great little walk in place with a fair number of tables. I had the green chile mushroom quesadilla. Very tasty. The hubs had a carne asada burrito. Huge! We will be stopping back here for sure. Good prices, not a lot of fanfare. Just get in and get out.

    (5)
  • Christie H.

We ate here today and the food and service was excellent! Some of the best Mexican we have ever had! Highly recommended!

    (5)
  • Jim D.

Had pork burrito. Lots of cheese sauce and sour cream, decent amount of meat. Friend had bean & cheese burrito. Both cost a little over $10. It was ok, but not stellar.

    (3)
  • R H.

We were a group of three and each ordered different items. None of us finished our meals. It seemed like frozen vegetables with watery tomato paste and too much salt. Perhaps it was a bad day, but it not only was some of the blandest Mexican food I've had in Oregon, it's not even better than any of the other local places in Seaside. I would recommend the Left Coast in Manzanita if you can make the drive, even though the menu there is limited (mostly mission style burritos).

    (2)
  • Trenton C.

The best Mexican food in seaside. I used to live in New Mexico, and find that this food is good enough to appease me when I want good fresh Mexican food. They have odd hours, making it more of a lunch only place. Serving sizes tend to be larger than expected.

    (5)
  • Jason M.

Best Mexican around! Have yet to have anything that was less than stellar. Bean and cheese burritos are outstanding as are the carne asada and chicken. 2 thumbs up.

  • Captain C. Branagain G.

I'd like to give this place a 2.5. I do not understand how a restaurant can close at 5PM? Do you realize how much business you lose by closing that early? Do you care? Must not, as your apathetic order taker / waiter who spent more time cleaning up to get the hell out of dodge than he did ensuring the customer is happy proved. FRESH CHIPS? Yeah, fresh from a bag. FAIL. Carne Asada was dry, burritos were bland and uninspired. Good prices, but bland food. I don't understand all of the positive reviews. Judging from the lack of decent Mexican eateries on the Oregon Coast, maybe people just don't know quality and good flavour. I will probably give your burritos one more chance, but come on....try to give a half a damn and make it so we want to give you business. CASH ONLY too, so don't make it too easy for us to patronize you.

  • Gabriel H.

Now...I'll explain for the one star rating. I ordered Carnitas Tacos and a Carne Asada Burrito. After eating the Carnitas Taco, I was so looking forward to the carne asada burrito. I can't say how disappointed I was with the burrito. Half of the meat was fat. My friend and I shared and we both had the same experience. I'm thinking this was a one time thing. I hope they improve on the meat quality. It made me feel sick for the rest of the day.

  • Amanda M.

This place was awesome! I got the pork verde enchiladas and they were delicious! My family enjoyed their food as well. Will definitely come back here when I'm in town.

Our fav place for Mexican Food. We've been going ever since Jose' and his wife had the place on Ave. U and it was always filled with surfers! My favorite thing is the veggie tostada with chicken. It has tons of fresh sauteed veggies and lettuce, cheese and sour cream etc. and just the right amount of chicken for this girl...oh and with black beans, yum. I don't think it's even on the menu but Jose' knows what I like. :) Their Combo Burrito is so awesome too...!!! Whatever kind you want, it is huge and filled with the beans, rice, cheese, etc. HUGE. Chips and salsa, tamales, everything is great! Wonderful family owned place.

    (5)
  • Jessica H.

This place is every locals fav! Love it. The carne asada burrito is a huge hit. I always get a bean and cheese burrito enchilada style and its FIRE. Wish it was open on the weekends because I am never in town mon-fri. Only accepts cash! ;)

  • Gretchen D.

Absolutely the BEST Mexican food in Seaside! Freshly prepared, perfectly spiced, inexpensive, quick, and a locals favorite. They are open Monday - Friday, closing at 5pm, but you can call your order in, and pick it up within about 15 minutes if you want to take it home for dinner. My favorites there: Chicken Mole (Tuesdays only), Carne Asada Quesadilla, and the Nachos. Tammy and Jose Saucedo own the place, and their son-in-law Kevin runs the register, they are lovely people, who remember your favorites, and we try to eat there once a week. A must do for anyone visiting Seaside!

    (5)
  • Irwan T.

It is great. Nice service and the food was the best Mexican I've had in a while. Fresh and delicious. Spanish rice made with broken rice, black beans very flavorful. The burritos are nice sized and tasty. Must come again!

    (5)
  • Hapy M.

Excellent carne asada burritos at awesome prices and sizes and quick too!

    (5)
  • Megan M.

This place is excellent. Great seasoning and gave me several of their salsas - all good - with my take-out.

    (5)
  • Doug M.

Oh, gosh this is good! The meat is well prepared and flavored. And, is that real lard in the refried beans? I believe so! This is no fancy place, but it's taste and quality are excellent. It's a short walk from most places in Seaside, which is great to avoid the hassle of getting back in the car and dealing with Highway 101.

Best mexican in Oregon. We've lived in LA, grew up in the Bay Area and now live in Oregon. Wherever we have lived we always had the mexican food scene wired. Call us mexican food "snobs", as we loathe "american" style mexican restaurants. Seriously . . . . . we are Gordon Ramsay-esque at bad mexican places. The Stand is great, authentic. That guy at the stove, Jose, must be a mexican witch! I believe him to be the owner. Try the chile verde burrito or the chicken mole taco (on the special sometimes). They know how to do a chile relleno (few in Oregon do) and most everything is great. There are some quirks, however. The hours are strange. They are not open weekends during the winter and only Saturday during summer. Obviously, more money can be made on Saturday than a Tuesday in Seaside. Asked them why they close on Saturday (and Sunday). They cater to locals was the answer. The salsa (3 kinds) are fresh and excellent. (our barometer, BTW, on first impressions of mexican joints is the salsa) Place is clean and simple. Don't expect a big live place. The name describes it best. It is little more than a stand. And there are two reasons this place is great. 1. The owner is the chef. 2. The chef knows how to prepare mexican.

Awesome food and horrible service. If you don't mind waiting 30+ minutes for a stupid burrito, please eat here. If you believe 'fast food' is meant to be served in under 30 minutes, then bring a book to read while you wait.

    (3)
  • Brandie M.

best Mexican food I've ever had!!!! I go here every time I am in seaside! fresh, speedy, friendly, delicious! everyone there is so nice and the service is fast! great food, if you're ever in seaside Oregon that is the place to go!! They close at 5pm...some people have a problem with that but....it's seaside! Hello! Not all towns are like the ones you live in!

Long time local favorite. Great food at a great price.

  • Chris G.

This has got to be the best Mexican food at the coast. We (the wife and I) have been twice now and everything we've ordered has been fantastic. The portions are large. The prices are reasonable. The flavors blend wonderfully. They have black beans as an option (this is important to be The staff is friendly. They have outdoor seating for those 2-3 months when that works at the coast. So far we've had: Carne asada burrito (good seasoning and salsa, not as lean as I prefer) Chicken quesadilla (large and piled high) Chile verde burrito (leaner than asada, swimming in tomatillo and juices, delicious) Bean tostada (awesome fried tortilla, pico de gallo added great flavor) This place has definitely become a fixture for our Seaside visits.

  • Eric A.

Excellent!! Took a trip up to Seaside, Oregon to visit my Beautiful Family and stopped by The Stand cuz everyone was talkin about how this is the best Mexican Food in town. Sure'nuf it was the BOMB!! Check it out for urself, and ask what the best seller is. U gotta like it.

    (5)
  • Cody W.

Over on Holladay, there is a street taco fight brewing between the Stand and Guadalajara. The fact that the Stand is open past 7:00 is a cheap, but critical victory. The setup is no-frills. The seating is disorganized, and the bussing is woefully neglected. But WOW, do those tacos deliver. I got carnitas tacos & carne asada burrito. The tacos were stuffed with rich, dripping, flavorful fall-apart tender chunks of pork. Slightly oversalted, but scrumptious. The carne asada was charred perfectly. Delicious meal, and excellent street tacos by any city's standard. But seriously.... you're in Seaside.... and no fish tacos?

The food was amazing, best mexi in seaside.....

  • Nate L.

The great thing about Mexican food is that often times, the appearance of the location is the direct opposite of the quality of the food. Most of the great tacos, burritos, etc that I've had in my life have come from out of the way places that you need a recommendation from the friend of a friend of a friend to find. Thankfully, Yelp pointed my family and I to this one. FANTASTIC food. We each ordered something different and after sampling it all, we hit some great food across the board. Be sure to add some of the green and/or red/brown sauce from the table to your entree to add a little extra. The salsa fresca and chips were a nice appetizer while we waited for our food to be brought to us. If you like some great food for pretty cheap, this is the place for you.

Good mexican food is a real treat when on vacation. Looking for some good Mexican food here is the spot to go.

    (4)
  • Greg R.

you don't expect good food in a tourist ocean town..what a TREAT! We ordered Carne Asada Burrito Enchilada style, and pork verde enchiladas. YUM! My wife said it was the best Mexican food she has ever had. I thought it was VERY very good. No ambiance, no fancy anything, but delicious and memorable food. We're gonna be back many times to try their entire menu.

    (5)
  • Matt S.

The best Mexican food ever! Small family run place that has the best hospitality you could ever ask for. Home made corn tortillas made everyday! Huge servings for a small price. Can't ask for any better!

  • Julie T.

Really delicious and flavorful carne asada burrito for a reasonable price. I had to go back again the next day to get another one. Definitely one of the best restaurants Seaside has to offer.

    (4)
  • chrissy S.

Just ok I had a chicken taco -American style. It was chicken parts uuukk. I'm pretty sure the chips were from a bag. I won't go back. However prices are reasonable.

We loved this place! Make sure to check their open hours before you go, as we missed them a couple times, but when we finally at here, it was WELL WORTH it! Their food is outstanding! I would say it is some of the best Mexican food I have ever had and I am from TEXAS- home of the best Mexican food anywhere! Also, the restaurant was clean and the tables were totally hip! We look forward to coming back here again!!!

Stopped in here based only on Yelp reviews and so glad we did. You order at the counter and then the food is brought to your table. I had the green chili and cheese quesadilla and a pork taco. with rice and beans. DH had a beef and grilled veggie plate (can't remember the name of it). Loved the quesadilla, cooked to perfection and perfectly seasoned. I get tired of being served quesadilla's that aren't crisped up a bit so appreciated that. OMG the pork in the taco (these are real mexican tacos), was probably the best I have ever had, the flavor was fabulous and so moist and tender. The rice was fairly standard, the beans were delish with chunks of the beans not all mashed. DH enjoyed his meal as well, a huge portion, but lots of flavor with all the veggies. The prices are very reasonable especially for the quality of the food. This is a hidden treasure, away a bit from the main drag, but easy to find, close to the Holiday Inn Express. Too bad it's not open on Sat/Sun, we wanted to go back once more before we left town, but well surely be back to taste more of their menu selections. They only take cash too.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
