Diabetics at Pizza Hut

Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:

You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.

Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

High Cholesterol at Pizza Hut

Whether large, medium or small, a pizza can boost your cholesterol levels instantly. You shouldn't eat more than one slice of any pizza your order at Pizza Hut. You can also try pasta at Pizza Hut but ensure that you are not adding any dressing or extra cheese as you order pasta.

Excellent customer service each and every time we go there. If order not perfect, they make immediate amends. The management is spot on. It's clean, quick and creative. I love their salads, too. We utilize their coupons which we get once monthly via email (after signing up). No spam. They also easily honor Chinook book coupons.

Great, reliable pizzicato pizza, but cramped and awkward dining room. Best for to go orders.

As a general rule, Pizzacato has excellent pizza. I stopped by this location to grab a to-go slice for lunch, and was pleased to see they have Quattro Formaggi by the slice. Used a Chinook Book coupon and was quickly on my way. The service wasn't the best. The person behind the counter seemed a little annoyed to be there and to have to deal with a customer. He also called me back by saying "Here you go, ma'am". Blah. In the end, the the delicious pizza mostly made up for this. Pizzacato truly has some of the best pizza in Portland.

Their pizza is great in the store- BUT every single time I have ever called to ask them to deliver there has been over an hour wait for delivery. What?!?!?!?!!? Why even bother offering the service. Super bummer.

I hate to say it but this location is not so great. A few weeks ago we ordered for delivery & it took nearly 2 hours. When we called we we're told our pizza had been sitting out already cooked for 20 min. They made up for this by offering a free large pizza which they said would go on my account. When we called to redeem there was no note about the mistake & free pizza. But the staff member we spoke to gave it to us anyway which was great until the pizza came. It was utterly blah, which is odd considering there was both pepperoni & Mamas little peppers on it. Yesterday we got a couple slices to go & again blah. By this I mean bland, lacking salt, and I think honestly lacking heart. It's as if you can taste that this location just doesn't care that much because their primary customers are hurried parents with kids in tow who don't have time to notice. We won't be back for a while.

Pizzacato to the rescue! Newborn twins, yeah, a lot more work than I ever imagined!!! On nights that we can't put either baby down for even a moment without complete melt downs, we call for delivery from the fabulous Hillsdale shop. The wheat crust is incredible. You would never know its whole wheat, it tastes even better than most regular crusts do. Our favorites are: -The Molto Carne, Pepperoni, Fennel Sausage, Canadian Bacon, olives, mushrooms and fresh tomatoes. -The Pepperoni, add roasted garlic. -The Di Polo, Chicken Breast, Fontina, Roasted Garlic, Mushrooms and Olive Oil. The only pizza that's been a bit disappointing so far after having 75% of the menu is the Margherita, it's surprisingly bland. The staff is friendly, and the pizza delivery is punctual. If you sign up for the emails there are great little monthly coupons deals:).

My son have lived in the area for about 6 years, yep, that's how long we've been going to them for take-out orders, he's just a few blocks away from them! This time, they disappointed me! For one unexpected evening, we were asked to stop by after a hard day's event from Hillsboro, to baby sit my grand daughter, and watch FROZEN, the Disney movie. My husband brought home 3-4 different flavors, and he called me first to see which ones I prefer and I said the chicken. My large slice of pizza didn't have chicken! There's two pieces of chicken on his, but there's absolutely NONE on mine!

I used to eat there periodically - the pizza was definitely not my favorite of the many great ones I used to buy when I lived in Oregon but it was decent. I liked it. I prefer more New York-style pizza and Pizzicato is definitely not that, it's more along the lines of modern/nouvele cuisine and sometimes not so 'Italian'. They've been in business for about 25 years now and they definitely have their connoisseurs. My parents liked it a lot more than I did. I'd definitely give it another shot if given the opportunity. The one I remember my family eating frequently was the barbecue chicken one with the yellow peppers. The prices were always pretty fair. 3 1/2 stars.

This is my neighborhood pizza joint. And I feel pretty lucky that it is. This is a great place for the hubby and I to have a quick slice of pizza and a Caesar Salad. The space is small, not too many tables, inside and out. That can be a bit of a drawback, but I can usually find a table. The Caesar Salad is always really good. The lettuce is always good and crisp, though they could cut it into smaller pieces for me. The staff always asks me if I want the dressing on the salad or on the side. On the salad for me! It's nice and garlicky, just the way I like it. You can buy pizza by the slice or by the pie. They usually have 3 or 4 pies sliced and displayed. They warm the slices for you and they do it pretty quickly. Really good pizza, too. The staff has always been really friendly to me. This is a neighborhood joint, and I often know the folks I see behind the counter. Great place!

Not the best pizza I've ever had but it was damn near close. ;) I walked over today to try this place out and I'm glad I did. I tried the pepperoni pizza (pretty decent) and also tried the bbq pizza. Holy hell that was a great slice and I'm glad I tried it. Will for sure be back!

Gayle and I recently shared a few tasty slices of Pizzicato, while my son was next door at Paint Pots working on his ceramic dolphins. In fact, we were free to bring our food and drink over and watch the Kid enjoy himself. Pizzicato sells beer too, but wisely decided that next store carryout wasn't a good idea. I had the flavourful and spicy Thai Chicken slice, while Gayle enjoyed her Puttanesca (fresh tomatoes, artichoke hearts, kalamata olives and feta on a garlic/olive oil base). The Kid's hunger doesn't usually kick in until mid-afternoon, and declined our offers. Pizzicato is a local chain and I've previously enjoyed a pie and beer at PDX. This location is on the small side, but still offers a wide selection, including panini and salads. Gluten-free flat bread is also available, their nutritional information is highlighted, and I left impressed with their Dough for Dollars School Fundraising program.

This particular Pizzicato location is quite small...just a little storefront in a strip mall next to Noah's bagels and the Food Front Co-op. I stop by here often for a slice before or after i get of shift from work, and they have great pizza. Also a really good selection of beers and sodas in the bottle, some of which are kind of neat and unusual. The only complaints i have are that the pizza is kind of overpriced for what is it, and some of the folks who work there goof around a lot/are inattentive of customers, but not all of the employees are like that. It is a pizza parlor after all, with highschoolers and young twenty somethings working there, so i guess it is kind of to be expected to a certain extent.

I absolutely love pizzicato pizza. However, this chain has horrible customer service issues. They never can hear what I say on the phone, i have to repeat everything 5 times. I have eaten/ordered at this location as well and staff was unfriendly and seemed unhappy to be doing their job. I will stay with the pizzicato location downtown! Same great pizza but so much better service!

Pizzacato is my favorite pizza in PDX so far. It isn't perfect, and I don't find their standard pizza all that good. What always gets me is their creative pizzas. They have a monthly pie and that is what I like to get. My favorite of all times had cauliflower and romesco sauce. I don't find their pepperoni or Margherita pizza all that great, but it is their more artistic offerings that I crave. Also, their breadsticks and salads are great if you are actually trying to round out your meal a bit. Downsides include a lack of seating and the cost. I would expect better pizza to cost more, so I don't really consider the cost that much of an issue if at all.

Pizzacato is my favorite Portland pizza place! Fresh and tasty are the best words to describe it. Be prepared to pay a little more that you normally would for a slice, but you are paying for quality. I am writing this review to attest to the gluten-free crust. It is tough to find a decent gluten-free pizza option, but they definitely have it! I recommend the Genovese pizza on the gluten-free crust. It is full of flavor, hard to tell it's gluten-free. The pesto sauce truly makes it. I love a good slice with lots of veggies and goodness!

  • Craig S.

Never had their Pizza until moving my Studio to Portland. I was hesitant due to the price, but they are the only non-fast food type chain that delivers. Granted $45 for two Pizzas are significantly overpriced. That being said, service was good, fast and the quality and flavor of the Pizza is excellent. I think I would order more of the prices were about 20% less to match other similar quality food. Granted they lose more off each order, but I think they would gain more buy doubling their biz. What may be a once a month order will only be a twice a year order as a special treat.

Confused, disorganized and chaotic! Ordered a pizza to go on Friday night, big mistake. Waited the alloted 45 minutes and went to pick up the pie. When I got there they said it was not ready yet. Waited another 20 minutes or so until I asked were the pizza was at. The employee went into the back and found the pizza was already made and had been the entire time I was sitting there! Got home the pizza was lukewarm and soggy! Not a way to run a business, you need to get some order and process in how you handle orders. It will be a long while before I give this restaurant another try, if ever.

I often wonder what a food entrepreneur is thinking when he/she puts the word "Gourmet" in their name? What does it mean to most people, anyway? According to the Wikidictionary, "gourmet" means "fine", which is pretty far afield from its etymological root. The dictionary goes on to say "Gourmet has become somewhat debased by marketing usage, and is considered by some a pretentious middlebrow term. Such users tend to prefer terms such as artisanal (emphasizing the craft) for fine food." That latter explanation makes more sense these days, I would guess. In any case, the local chain "Pizzicato" is fond of the word 'gourmet', and in their case, I suspect they believe it refers to both the 'artisanal' making and the ingredients used. They tout their crust as one special aspect, buying flour only from the Pendleton Flour Mill in Eastern Oregon. Mrs. BDB was in a mood to order in last night, and usually pizza is not on her ordering radar, any more than burgers are, but I suspect her choice was motivated at least partially because it's my birthday this week, and she likes to make me especially happy during the anniversary of my entry into humankind. (Mostly because she believes when I was born, pizza hadn't been invented yet). After a bit of online investigation, Pizzicato got the nod, and after a failed attempt to persuade the Hillsdale branch to deliver to us, we called the Lake O outlet (which is actually farther away), and they said "sure, why not." Off the menu, Mrs. BDB chose a small salad, with pear slices, candied walnuts, mixed greens, balsamic dressing and Gorgonzola. Although walnuts and Gorgonzola also do not top her list of favorite things, they are on mine, so we got a pretty fair distribution out of the salad. She loved the mixed greens, I did not. The roughage was a little too rough for my delicate ingestion apparati. She also ordered the 3 cheese stuffed mushrooms, baked crimini filled with feta, provolone & Parmesan. We both panned these, while the mushrooms were crisp and tasty, the stuffing was kind of "gloppy" (translation: wet) so they were difficult to pick up, and I suspect these would be much better at the restaurant, when they are hot and just out of the oven. . For a pie, I chose the 12" (medium) "Sausage combo", which the menu describes as fennel sausage, mushrooms, black olives, and smoked mozzarella. The joint likes to crow about their crust, which is a "New York thin" (my definition) meaning thicker than cracker, chewy throughout, with only slight crisping, and some definite hang when you are picking up a slice. The hang and composition is not so severe the toppings end up flying nilly-willy off the crust, but that's more a condition of assembly than the actually crust. The crust is flavorful, and 'breadstick chewy', if that's your preference. The fennel sausage has very good flavor, but is doled out in microscopic bits, smaller than a Sysco type pre-crumble. On a pie of this price and description, I'd prefer to see amply-sized hand-pulled chunks of the pork. Mushrooms and olives were from a can or jar, nothing at all to make them distinguishable or exceptional. Again, I'd prefer a more "artisanal" approach to these ingredients, as well. Finally, whether or not the mozzarella was actually 'smoked', I can't say. Didn't seem to enhance the experience for me. Would I order again? Why not? Would I go out of my way to order or eat there? Nah. The appy, salad, and pie, delivered, produced a tab of $30, and for the same amount, if I dared, I could have gotten two mediums and three pounds of pasta from Pizza Hut on a Tuesday nite special. Point being, the Hut choice would have lasted several days, but Pizzicato's delivery was a single meal for us.

This is the best pizza I've eaten in Portland and I've lived here my whole life. Mostly thin crust, so if that's not what you like in a pizza I wouldn't recommend it. Would be 5 stars, but I tried to order delivery one time and was told that I wasn't within their delivery area even though they have a map that says I am and I am within the delivery distance range according to Google maps. When I tried to explain this to the person on the phone they just repeated that I was not within the delivery area. Not very good customer service.

This place is within spitting distance of Papa John's, but I have NO idea why anyone would pick their greasy crap over Pizzicato. Lovely, freshly made pizzas, great beverages and beers, and indoor seating give this place a leg up on the competition. Try their Patate e Prosciutto pizza, which features red potatoes and thinly sliced prosciutto (delicate Italian ham) and smoked mozzarella. I've never had anything like it. One star off because the Caesar Salad was horrid-- WAY too garlicky and not nearly enough shrimp, which I paid extra for. Other than that, this place is great.

Just based on the large mediterranean and large four cheese pizza my extended family and I devoured, I can tell this is a quality place to get a pizza. Reminded me a bit like Pagliacci Pizza in the Seattle/Bellevue areas. Prices are higher but ingredients and flavor are of high quality.

Just hearing the name Pizzicato makes my mouth water. Their combinations are imaginative and super tasty, their dough is AMAZING, their salads are actually worth eating instead of just being an after thought... It's flawless all around. While I was pregnant I had to abstain from peanuts and not being able to eat their Thai Peanut pizza was one of the things that made me the saddest.
