Imagine the hot dogs sitting under the broiler for many days at a truck stop convenience store. Yuk right? Had high expectations based on other helpers but major disappointment. Worst corn dog and hot dog ever, anywhere. What happened??? The dog separated from the corn batter, the dog was rubbery and over cooked or cooked twice or worse yet, microwaved??? Really? The corn batter was rubbery too. The dog in the bun over cooked and rubbery and chewy. Saw this place on highway years ago and drove here esp for the hot dogs. Won't make that mistake again. How does one explain the descrepancy in quality of product and the yelp reviews? New management? Who knows and who cares cause you lost this customer for life.

no, vegetarian me didn't eat one...although their menu had a veggie burger :-o Anyway, my party ordered three regular corn dogs, errrrrr, pronto pups. they all said they tasted like a corn dog (but not as good)...and by my eyes, they looked likes corn dogs. the lady behind the counter was quite offended when we associated them with corn dogs. so on the way home, online, we looked up the difference. not much. whatever. located just off 22, outside of lincoln city. you can't miss it. it does have a full luncheon menu...with about 1/2 dozen tables inside. the bathroom smelled of death...weird.

Get your corn dog here!! and you don't even have to wait for the fair to come into town! I was here visiting the coast and couldn't believe my eyes when I read the yellow sign. PRONTO PUPS? I immediately said.. I have to visit! Located right off the road next to a gas and pump. Not to hard to miss cause of the big yellow sign, SMART! This place is a blast from the past! Cash only, few tables inside, they hand write your order and make and sell their own batter! Thank goodness I was with friends since I am out of town I wanted to try it all! We ordered to go the jalapeno cheese dog, kielbasa, seasoned fries and kid pup. I am so sad/ happy this place is in OR. Cause if it was anywhere near where I live I would be in big trouble. Jalapeno and cheese: Juicy, nice flavor, big dog with a nice casing snap. Had the right amount of heat to it. Be careful of first bite, from the heat and juice, your tongue and mouth will thank you. Kielbasa: tasty as always.. only thing you have to worry about is the after math of the burps for the rest of the day. Kid pup: more the 1/2 the size of the regular. Nice flavor and good casing. Seasoned curly fries: nice and crispy and not overly greasy. Had a nice season salt on top. Now to just talk about the batter. It's as good as any State Fair dog around. Great corn flavor that evenly coated the dog. Nothing really greasy just a nice golden crispy covering on the outside with moist bread on the inside. I was surprised that the casings were still snappy. Yes, this place probably isn't the most of heart healthy/ friendly, but it sure does hit the spot. They do sell other things.. couldn't tell ya. Was more focused on the dog on the stick. Reasoning behind my 5 stars.

Ya know, I saw this as we jetted by on our way to Lincoln City and I made my hubby promise that no matter how much good food I ate at the coast, that he would take me here on the way home to relive fat laden childhood memories of PRONTO pups. Thank God he carries CASH cause that's all they accept. CASH ONLY. Let me tell you, price wise, they were a deal and the crunchy corny exterior was as I recalled - warm and slightly sweet and perfect to take the edge off of the salty dog. I'm a firm believer in mustard only, but if you want to ruin yours with ketchup, they've got that, too! CHILDREN AND YOUNG AT HEART: We really were so stuffed from the coast that I couldn't eat all of my dog, but I was sure glad I stopped to try them out. Next time I have kids with me, I would definitely stop to let them try a corn dog the way it was meant to be - fresh and hot and of a good quality. We ate in the car since the inside was dingy and tired, but who cares, as long as it's clean.
