This place use to the bomb for buffet back in the day. Tried their new sit down menu. It's not bad,but you gotta know what order(favorites I guess)An I think if they kinda know who you are, they pay attention more on how they prepare it.

I went out with the family while I was town and the food was slightly better than my college days. Apparently the restaurant had changed owners since I was last here. Our server was wonderful and friendly. She promptly gave us water and took our orders. The food came out in a timely manner and we had a nice meal. We ordered items off the "Chinese" menu which you don't find on the regular menu like Chinese sausage fried rice and broiled fish hot pot. Items from this menu are catered more to the Asian palate and tend to be a bit spicier. Prices were reasonable and portion sizes were good. There isn't much selection for food in Monmouth, but nice to know that Sing Fay is still around the corner if I fancy some Chinese.

We threw out (and up) our entire takeout order. The chicken smelled like ammonia. It was supposed to be sesame chicken but it was just breaded and fried with a sauce served on the side that wreaked of ammonia as well; no sesame in sight. The mongolian beef consisted of off colored grayish "beef" with an odd chewy texture. The twice cooked pork was probably the only thing edible, but after sampling, and literally gagging on the other food and spitting it in the sink we decided it wasnt worth the risk of vomiting the night through and our entire order was placed into the garbage; after we put our hazmat suits on. Never again, total disappointment and waste of money. I actually created this account just to warn others about this place.

Been there multiple times. The prices for takeout aren't that great. They do have a buffet that is reasonably priced. The owner is also really nice too.

Food wasn't good or bad. Service was mediocre . I probably won't go here again.

Sing Fay is your best bet for family style chinese food in Monmouth. The food here is alright. It's typical american-chinese, so you have the regular General Tao's chicken, and house special fried rice. This place is a good way to fill up off of campus dining. The owners are very chinese but speak english relatively well, there are often students working so ordering will not be a problem. Pretty good chinese food for about the right price.

It's very traditional Chinese style food if you get a menu of Chinese version. The food is tasty and the price is cheap, compare to other Chinese restaurants. All in all, I love going to Sing Fay!

This is an authentic place the help is eager to help and suggest dishes. All the meals I've had were very good. I try something new every time I go in. The owner is very helpful in explaining the dish.

I had persevered through one of their their lunch buffets a couple years ago. Worst Chinese food I had ever tasted. My daughter and I thought yesterday was a good day to give it another try. We ordered off the menu hoping the previous issue was buffet. Nope. Horrible food. Horrible quality (i don't even like to include that word here at all). The egg roll that came with the combo had to be leftover from the closed buffet. It had obviously been left out for hours and refried to put on my plate. It looked like a shriveled penis and the one bite I took was more than enough. Awful. There was nothing but tofu and cabbage in the soup. The quality of the meat? was equivalent to that of meat store scraps. The worst part? The Chinese people who came in to eat were sat in their own section and served items I couldn't find on the menu. Perhaps the fresh, good food is reserved for the non Qai lo. Fooled me once, shame on you. Fooled me twice, shame on me.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
